Question of the day: 4/21: Burgers? Do you like them and what do you eat on them?
So I love a good hamburger. I don't mean the dollar one at McDonalds. I love a good real burger. I can be happy with Five Guys (love the fries!) We tend to make them at home now even before all this started. We make variety of them from turkey Greek burgers to Western style bacon burgers with bbq sauce and onion ring. My favorite tends to be loaded with a bleu cheese sauce we make and cooked mushrooms in pepper and butter. My Matt really likes when we make green chile cheeseburgers. They are acquired taste from our time in the Southwest and they are good! What about ya'll?
Bacon
Cheese (cheddar, pimento, american, pepper jack will do)
sometimes BBQ sauce, sometimes A1 or Heinz 57, sometimes ketchup
Duke's mayowith spicy mustard OR the
Walmart brand Garlic Aioli Mustard
Dill pickles (the crisp, cold ones)
big thick crisp juicy tomato
iceberg lettuce
red onion OR carmelized onions
Prefer a good bun that doesn't fall apart. Pretzel buns are good.
Tonight, we're having the ham I didn't make for Easter, baked potatoes and roasted cauliflower/broccoli/brussel sprouts/corn.
Amazon has delayed 2 of my puzzles. One isn't until mid-May now; the other is for this weekend, but I'm not holding my breath. Still waiting on a puzzle from Walmart (Ceaco Thomas Kinkade Disney), but it's not schedule to be here until Apr 30. 'sok
Had a blah day yesterday. I usually get that way on the 20th (my true cake day). No presents or anything from anyone; I told DH all I wanted was for DS and DH to do something thoughtful for me. He thoughtfully asked if I could make burgers for lunch instead of dinner.

I understand they couldn't go out and shop, and no one is delivering flowers right now (DH's usually m.o.)
DD#2 had 2 coworkers who were exposed to Covid-19 a few weeks ago, through their family members (and one knew he was sick when he was in the office, but she doesn't know from what). The last couple days, she's been very tired and nauseous; this morning, she woke up with a fever. Took tylenol, went to work (wearing a mask) as she is supposed to be in the office to answer phones (every one else is remote working or out in the shop). Fever kept going up and down (from 99 to 100.4). She called the nurse line at the military base, and they asked her to come in for a test, since she was potentially exposed thanks to the coworkers. She had a fever of 102 when she got to the hospital (over an hour later, since she was coming from work). Long story short, they are waiting for results, and the three of them (DD, SoIL and GS) have been quarantined at their home for the next 14 days. She's going to see if her pet sitter can take their dog for her follow up (spay surgery last week) and to do grocery shopping for them (she'll pay her, obv) since they can't really get grocery delivery on base. SoIL is ecstatic that he is on paid leave for 2 weeks.
