Happy Wednesday! :)

🙏PollyannaMom that your DS is feeling much better this morning and that both of you enjoyed some good rest last night!

🙏Snowysmom that your flu shot goes easily and well.

Love your Wednesday Autumn ::MickeyMopicture, Lynn. How cool that you and Mr. L are able to participate in the 🧺raffle. What's in the baskets? :)

I hope you're having a good day as well, Easyas!🌺

Quiet morning around here. Dad and I did enjoy a long conversation with our TX cousins last night. Always good to catch up and hear their voices. Dad will be soon headed off to Best Buy. I'll share any fridge/headphone updates later and will also, check back later, too.

Enjoy the da, everyone!

Home from shopping,,and all I can about prices this week is WOW. I don't think there isn't one thing that didn't go up about 50 cents. Cost me a fortune on food.

@flyingdumbo127 --Mona..there are all kinds of baskets. A lot of them are donated from business's so they have booze in them. Some are filled with lottery tickets. In the past we have done a gas grill, last year we did a spa basket This year we are doing a slim Keurig, with all kinds of fall coffee's, snacks, and decorations

Its almost 78 outside..cloudy now and then. Just told the kid next door to come and start getting the wood as soon as his help arrives. I don't want this turning into an all afternoon project. If I could throw it down, move it to the rack and stack it in an hour..men should be able to do it a lot faster,,lol

How thankful I am to read, dear Lynn, that YOU won't be tackling the wood solo, thank God! Thanks for the basket info, too :)

Dad did go to Best Buy. Don't have much to share from that trip other than we're back to where we started 🎧wise. Best Buy didn't have any idea how I could watch our 📺(which we discovered btw is not Bluetooth enabled) at its regular volume through the TV while dad on headphones was able to listen simultaneously at a louder (only for him) volume. The TV salesperson just said anything he could think of would block out the TV's regular sound for me completely. We could, if need be, consider purchasing a Bluetooth enabled TV if that ends up being the only option. Dad did say he is overdue to get his ears checked and cleaned anyway so will look into that and at that appointment can ask the doctor what he recommends. Makes sense. Fridge-wise, Best Buy had 1 possibility (a display model only) that dad took a picture of and will look up later. He'll definitely be going to Home Depot next. Lowe's only if truly needed because as I said the nearest Lowes is an hour away from us. Closer first :)

Wishing all of you a good afternoon!

All the wood is gone. There was 4 full pickup truck loads..and they took the 2 boxes of kindling too. Turned out just to be the guy and his dad..who is 75 and I had to keep telling him to rest. Dinner is going to be leftover tuna casserole and corn. I am tired, just finished putting everything back in the cellar where it goes, and vacuuming it all. The second window is open for the first time in 2 years, and I can actually move around down there now without walking into something

Have a nice nite all

So glad to hear all the woodwork is taken care of, Lynn!

I got the capri version of the too-long-pajama pants. The capris are almost long enough on me which just goes to show how both these and the long the regular pants would be on someone not as tall as I am. I'm going to call Amazon to let them know that once again an item of clothing was packaged only inside an easy to open plastic bag. That bag was not inside a bubble mailer or anything. I just feel because of Covid and that this is clothing it should have been better packaged. My other reason for calling is should I decide to order a second pair, I'd appreciate some reassurance this wouldn't happen again. The Amazon rep I spoke to earlier truly tried which of course I appreciated and thanked him for. I don't think he understood. He said he would reach out to the seller. The seller did nothing wrong. Amazon should have put the pajamas in a protective mailer. No biggie at all. They will be laundered on Friday :)

I forgot to share earlier that yesterday we received in the mail as part of a solicitation from SPCALA a dog blank postcard to mail. The dog reminded me of some of your dogs. I would love to send it to a fellow Quacker. PM me :dogdance:

Have a good evening, everyone.

@lynxstch you accomplished a lot!

Tom is home, sleeping on the recliner, and beginning his rehab at home. Gus is happy to have him home. When I pulled up to the hospital, Gus began barking. I think he wanted Tom to come out right then. We had to wait until it was Tom’s turn to have a pusher.

It‘s good to have our little family home!

My carpal tunnel recovery is going so well. I hope and pray Tom heals well from his right knee replacement.

@bobbiwoz Glad Tom is home recovering and Gus is happy to have everyone home. Nice that your surgery recovery is going well too.

Cool day here so far. It was nice to walk with my fleece on and a nice breeze. I am working from home for a bit and then off to the office 5 minutes down the road. I have been with the company 15 years so my manager is treating me to a takeout lunch. Nice of her to do that.

Have a nice day.

Good morning all. Our little thread seems to get smaller and smaller every day with posts. Guess everyone is busy!

50 degrees out this morning going to mid 70's again. I hope to get both sides of the back door painted today. The guy next door is coming over to take the empty pallets and cut them up. I have 2 in the cellar, and 2 outside that can go. 4 less things in my way~~

@Snowysmom --while I like Fall, it still seems early to me to have to put fleece, or a sweater on, lol!

@bobbiwoz --glad all went well and Tom is home!

Have a nice morning all

:grouphug:Bobbiwoz! Truly so happy for your family! Praise God, all members are healthier and home.

:cheer2:Snowysmom and much congratulations! Enjoy your lunch treat! So glad your boss is recognizing all you have done for the company as she well should!

:hug:Lynn, I agree with you. So grateful our Quacker family is still together. Definitely it would be wonderful to see our thread a bit more active. I hope your Thursday is :tigger:happy.

Hugs to all. Dad prayer please for his morning doctor appointment. Cooler and semi overcast here. Dad and I agreed yesterday that already it feels later in the day earlier in the morning. Are any of you feeling that way, too? Wishing all of you a happy Thursday!

I just tore the garden out. Picked the last of the tomatoes, and brought them in. I will weedwack and mow it tomorrow..back is too stiff right now. I did call our handyman to see how he was doing..he was down on the downtown mall walking for exercise. He sounds really good. They only had to put a neck brace and not one of those halo things. Told him he can take it off in 2 weeks, and in a month they will tell him what he can resume doing. He talked to his brother and his brother is going to get the gutter guard/filter things and put them on for me in a couple of weeks. Handyman says he can do it in 2 weeks, but I told him he is NOT climbing a ladder at our house and attempting it. Stubborn man!
I peeled the corn I got yesterday, just have to get clothes out of the dryer and fold them and I quit for the day..(yeah, I know,,famous last words, lol)

Good afternoon.

Definitely a pleasant day here weatherwise. 12 noon and only 71 degrees. It was very pleasant walking the dog this morning.

@bobbiwoz - glad things are going good for you and your husband with the surgeries. I get the dog, mine never leaves my husband's side.

Been busy again. Took my husband to the retinologist(SP?) yesterday for the 1st time in almost a year. No shots in the eyes but I need to make an appointment for him to see another eye dr. He has cataracts and is probably going to need surgery. I am taking today to just digest the information. I don't know if he will need an OK from the cardiologist, although that shouldn't be an issue. He's also on a ton of meds including a blood thinner so of course that may present an issue too.

My computer is acting weird today and posted this before I was finished typing. After the appointment he decided to treat to the Cheesecake Factory. That means I pay. We got the Shepherd's Pie to split for dinner along with our cheesecake. I never eat mine in one sitting, half was lunch today. I got really sick in the middle of the night so the Shepherd's Pie is out from now on. It wasn't as good as in the past anyway, so I won't miss it. I make a better one anyway.

Today is just relaxing and dinner is leftover goulash I made a couple days ago. I'll just make a vegie to go with it.

Tomorrow is another long day. I need to get my grandsons to school and pick them up. Crystal also needs a ride to work. I have tried telling her she can take a bus, but she starts with her anxiety issues, so right now I am not pushing it, once she has adjusted to school and work a little more though she really needs to take a bus. It stops at the corner of her street and right across the street from her work. She can also take one for school or walk. I am trying to get her to be a little more independent.

No football for Wyatt this weekend so that will be a nice break. The next 2 games after that are away and not in great neighborhoods. I will go anyway to support him.

Have a nice afternoon.

The thing that’s been bothering me is that it’s dark now around 7pm. I hate that! But I love the cooler weather, for sure. It was gray this morning but the sun has now come out a little.

Glad you both are doing well post surgery @bobbiwoz! Hoping @PollyannaMom’s son is doing better, as well. My DH had his stitches taken out yesterday. Doctor said all looked good, but put another dressing back on it. That, I don’t understand. We’d taken the dressing off to let air get at it and it was looking better. She had him order some ointment on Amazon (?) that is supposed to help the nerve regeneration. And then she wants him to put scar cream on it, not for appearance, but for smoothness or something. (Good grief.) Of course I got all this second hand. At least the redness cleared up. Will be glad when this is behind him. (@Breezy_Carol I think I forgot to answer you before, he had a cyst removed that was painful and inflamed because of it’s location on the big toe and friction from any shoe he wore. When she got in there and removed the cyst she found a bone sticking out underneath it that wasn’t supposed to be there, so she removed it! Got that call just post-op when we were clothes shopping, lol. So he’d have a little more pain, she said, than expected. And offered no pain meds.)

I see @tazdev3225 mentioning cataract surgery. Ugh. Been through that with both Mom and DH. With these “little” surgeries it’s not so much the surgery itself, but the running around before, during and after that’s the biggest pain in the neck, right! The cataract surgeries involved seven doctor’s appts. This foot surgery has been at least that, maybe one more. @Bianca and Bernard I could also relate to what you were saying about your DH’s appts as I hear it from my patients, too (who have a different type of transplant as well as often, a kidney) and I’ve experienced it, too, between myself and family members with cancer treatments, etc. I so really appreciate when things are going well and we have a lull medically! (I’m sure so many can relate in their own way!)

We had stuffed peppers last night, just Stouffers but we like those. Tonight we’re making a meatloaf with carrots and mashed, I was craving that. Was nice to be on staycation (and watch all the coverage of the Queen), but have to go back to work starting tomorrow so won’t be posting much this weekend. Hope everyone has a good one, though! 🐥

Thank you Pea-n-me and I hope your DH gets relief and heals. I have had a foot reconstruction done and I know when they work with bones in the foot, it is very painful.

Good afternoon! :sunny:

Very nice outside today, 80 degrees and I think tomorrow will be around the same. Saturday starts back to the 90's for about 5 day they're saying. AC will be going back on Saturday morning 🥵.

Stopped by my other work yesterday evening and picked up a dozen eggs 🥚. One of the girls at work has chickens so she sells the eggs. After that I went to Meijer and bought 4 mums, could have used a couple more but we'll see, I don't want to overdo the front yard and porch. Finished up at Ds1's soccer game, they won ⚽. I took juice boxes and Rice Krispy treats this week for the team, they enjoyed those 🧃.

Ds3's car is finally finished at the shop so I'll take him to get his car and then I'll leave my car there for them to replace the struts on Friday, hopefully that's all that it is. Lots of car swapping tonight 🚗. They said it will be done in 1 day, if not I'll have to reschedule because I work all weekend so I'll need my car.

When I get home I'll get the grass cut. Ds2 is coming over Sunday to get my Halloween decorations down from the attic so I can start putting those out in the house and in the yard 👻🎃. Ds3 is also coming over to help clean out the shed so I can start putting away the deck furniture. Since I was having a problem with snakes earlier this summer, I'm afraid I'll find something hiding when I move things around so he can do that and I'll put the stuff away.

I'll more than likely stop at Chipotle and grab something on the way home 🌮. I'll watch either the football or baseball game tonight after the grass is done.

That's it for me, have a great rest of the day. :goofy:

Good afternoon, friends,

Nice to come back to a bunch of new posts, thank you all. Thank God, all went well for dad this morning. We are beyond blessed by Him in all-ways indeed, Presence, Mercy, and Grace, etc. etc. You get the idea! I merely pray to be able to offer my life in kind service and witness to Him as called.

🙏for your handyman, Lynn and for you and Mr. L always, you know that, too. Listen this time to yourself and us, REST for the remainder of the day! Please!

:grouphug:Taz, you do have a lot going on. Please remember, my friend, to take care of yourself! 🌼Thank you for making a kind difference to so many. Prayers for your DH and Crystal as well. I'm sure sorry you got sick especially during a lunch treat :(

:wave2:So good to see you, dear Pea. Much prayer for your DH. I'm so sorry he's going through so much right now. Enjoy your dinner!

:hug:Footballmouse and so sweet of you to bring the team treats. Thank you for doing that. Car repair prayers! Have a good evening.

Thinking of you, PollyannaMom:grouphug:. Much prayer your DS is now back to health.

Everyone seems very busy lately. Maybe getting ready for the cooler weather to come.

Lunch was nice today. There were 5 of us in the office so we ate in the kitchen together. The office is still a mess and construction is going on too. At least we have a nice area of 6 desks for our little accounting area. It was nice to see everyone after almost 2 months.

My TV that I have in the living room did not have sound when I turned on the TV. The picture is fine and everything else works except he volume control on the samsung remote does not make the sound go up and down when I press the button. The remote itself is fine. I have my office TV on and have the sound loud enough that I hear it in the living room. I am sure I pressed something by accident but I am not adventurous enough to try to fix it. I looked at a few settings but that is it. Younger DS is coming over tomorrow morning after they drop off the kids at school. He will probably fix it in a minute. I did check the remote batteries and to be sure it is not on mute. But I am still sure I did something very stupid.

Time for my last walk of the day. Have nice evening.
