61 degrees here going to 82 degrees. But, the dew is so heavy it feels like rain but it didn't rain. Can't mow yet as the grass is just too wet.

I may have mentioned previously that the squirrel ate a hole into the gas tank of my push mower that I need for some parts of my yard. Been trying to find a tank that fits but with little success. One parts guy looked for me and did say if he finds a mower like mine he will email, but that's a long shot.

The good news is I found a very sticky plastic tape in my own basement that is holding, and keeping the hole closed so the engine can run correctly. It's a short term fix but working in the moment.

Yesterday I had an interesting interaction with a cashier. I was buying a single item and cashing in my membership rewards check. Item = $15. and change. Check = $266. and change. The cash register tells them how much to give back. The receipt shows the amount of the check tendered, the item bought and the amount of change.

Since I forgot about and misplaced my last check and had to have a new one issued, I wanted to get this one used quickly. Any 'regular' checks I get which are few are deposited via mobile deposit using my cell phone app, so checks aren't something I deal with much.

Anyway, I was owed $250 plus change. She counted out $200 plus change. I looked at her and she picked up the cash and counted it back to me again, without me saying a word.

I looked at her again and said, the check was $266. She mumbled something, called for a supervisor as she had closed the till and counted the cash again after looking at my receipt, after which she admitted it was wrong. Supervisor came, I got my cash and a lot of so sorry, etc. I kept quiet and just said no problem.

I've seen people make mistakes lots of times, but this is one of the few times I've felt someone was trying to scam a 'mistake' for a quick bit of cash. I'm old but not senile and I can count, very well.

Good morning-welcome to a foggy Saturday. Will be sunny and 83 later on. They say by Friday it will be a high of 66? WOW! Too early for that! Like @PollyannaMom --I am not one to sleep in, but this morning was an exception. Just clearing out the garden the last 2 days wore me out. I felt my age for the first time in a long time. Was in bed by 9, listened to music on my phone till 11, then zonked out till almost 7:30.
I need to strip and remake the bed, and that might just be my to do list for the day. I can always start painting the doors, which doesn't take much physical effort..or order the indoor outdoor carpet for the front porch, which takes no physical effort, and today, that's what I am leaning towards
@bobbiwoz --hurray for Tom's progress. That's great news
@PollyannaMom --continued prayers for your ds

Have a nice morning everyone

Good morning.

So far today I have baked an apple upside down cake. Next up, altar guild then putting a carseat in the car. (Such an effort.) Heading to College Park at 2. Beautiful day for a tailgate and night (7:30 game time) for football.

Good Morning,

It's overcast and cooler out here right now and it feels much later in the day than not even 8am! All is well and quiet around here, so very grateful indeed.

:grouphug:Bobbiwoz, praise God! What a wonderful update, thank you for sharing with us. Continuing prayers for Tom and always, you!

:hug:along with much🙏all-around, dear PollyannaMom!

🕊️Snowysmom and a big :grouphug:I know today may not be easy. Thinking of you! We're here and care.

:hug:Judique, and what an awful experience! All of you know how deeply I value honesty! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Dad, especially, since he's our going out person these days, has noticed at times, that making change doesn't always come as easily to some checkers which is fine but absolutely no one should try to gyp anyone! Glad you caught it. Just again very sorry you needed to.

Cute ::MinnieMomorning picture, Lynn. Hugs to you always, too. LOL, ITA with Snowysmom yesterday when she said that sometimes just reading about all you do makes me tired, it does. Your energy is amazing. I still think you and B&B ought to go into business together!

Thank you as always, Carol for all you do at your ⛪Enjoy the🏈game later.

Happy Saturday to all. I'll check back later.

Hello Quackers,

Trying to catch up a little bit.

@PollyannaMom I hope your son starts to feel better soon and that it "sticks" this time. What is the treatment plan for his new diagnosis. Sorry if I missed that somewhere.

@Judique That does seem like she was trying to scam you out of the full amount.

@Breezy_Carol I am debating on trying to bake something today. It's rainy and just kind of icky here, so something baking the oven sounds appealing. Have fun at the game tonight.

@AuntieMe3 Love your fun Halloween nails.

@bobbiwoz Good to hear that that Tom is doing so well after his surgery.

@Snowysmom Happy to hear that you are getting excited for your trip. Also, nice to hear you are making some solid choices about what you want in a home and the location...and I can tell that you really have thought about it and know what you really want. It's good to "hear" that you are sounding stronger every day.

It's the weekend that the kids are at their dads. It was another battle to get my oldest there. Then there was a bit of stress relating to my youngest football game this AM. I am losing my mind. I do have an appointment with my attorney at the end of the month to start putting an offer together. I pray with all that I am that we can get this settled out of court. I know he's going to be a HUGE pain though and I'm not sure he will "give" on anything. I have learned very quickly that 50/50 can mean 100 different ways of 50/50. It's exhausting. I probably am dreaming, but I would love nothing more than to have this almost or completely settled by the end of the year.

He makes so much stuff up and tells the kids lies and the weirdest things. I know he's trying to make me crazy and hoping I mess up somehow. He has 2 people that I have heard are "reporting" to him on I don't know what exactly, but he keeps telling the kids things like...well I heard that you do this or your mom has been doing that. It's so odd and annoying and I am tired of not feeling like I can live a life without it being reported. I mean I'm hardly doing anything so there is nothing to really report, but until the ruling is final and it will be much harder for him try and get the kids more, I feel like I'm going to be on edge.

On a different note, one of my cats just jumped up and knocked over a potted flower. Ugh. Glad it was in the kitchen and not on a carpeted area.

Don't know much else. I feel like a broken record, one reason I don't post as much any more.

Take Care All

So far, it's just to ride out the episode and get him slowly feeling better, then prevent triggers in the future. But his grandmother (a retired nurse) is researching a new specialist.
I hope that works out. We had to do that when with both our sons had digestive issues. My older DS has severe acid reflux and younger DS had to have his gall bladder removed when he was 12. We ended up at Children's Hospital in Boston but your son is too old for that. Once you find the right doctor it seems like magic and things just work out.

@frog3101 I am sorry things are rough for you right now. Can you let your attorney know what your soon to be ex is up to? It just seems like it is harmful to the kids and putting them in the middle. And who spies on someone's soon to be ex? That is loathsome. I am hoping that things settle down once you do talk with your attorney so maybe some peace can come into your life.

I have done alot of thinking of where I want to be and what I want. I need to do this as I am so stuck with being heartbroken and lonely. I need to break out of this nightmare I have been in. It seems like I am making progress but in truth I am not. I get up in the morning and do I what I have to do and present a calm face to the world. In private it is a much different story. Also, I do need to move from this area as I am not happy living here independent of missing Chris. I also know that I had to do this move to this condo in order to know what I need to do now. It is like I needed to do this step to get to the next step that will hopefully lead to some healing and peace.

Younger DS and I did alot of cleaning at Joe's apt. We got the paperwork we needed and I found a painting that Chris' Uncle who lived on Cape Cod painted. He did wonderful waterscapes. Joe wanted Chris to have it just before Chris passed so now I have it. We are having someone come in to really clean out the place. He will also recycle alot of stuff like the furniture and small appliances. Someone will get good use out of the those items. DS had to go to Abington to drop off something so we had lunch together at the Abington Ale House. We had brisket, mac and cheese, fried pickles, and corn bread. So yummy. And I had such a great time with DS. I love when I can just have time to chat with my sons. DS told me they were talking with the kids about Disney. Older DGD wants to go on Tower of Terror. Her sister and brother said they did too until they found out what the ride was. Then it was no way. They are so funny.

Have a good evening.

Much extra ❤️🐥🙏all-around and extra to Frog, PollyannaMom, and Snowysmom!

Headphones that my friend Glenda told us about! Her parents have the exact same needs that dad and I do! God absolutely led me to ask Glenda! Reviewers comments/question answers clearly say these are not Bluetooth which is exactly what we need as our TV is not Bluetooth enabled. Dad will look them over more later and we'll go from there. Worth trying especially as Amazon says free returns. Thank you all again, extra to Pea, for your help and support on this. I'll keep you posted!

Good evening everyone - Haven't accomplished a whole lot today, but I did just schedule both my husband and I for our first shingles shots. End of this month on a Friday early evening on a weekend we don't have anything planned, in case we feel like crap afterwards. Much like anticipating our Covid shots would make us wonky I'll no doubt stock up on gatorade , theraflu & chicken soup and won't need a bit of it...BUT I'll be prepared

Had a delightful afternoon at the home of youngest sons girlfriend & her family, including some folks who had come down from NY State. There was a bit of a language barrier but we all got thru it and it was a very nice time, which was a lunch in honor of our sons 25th birthday.

Full day of work slated for tomorrow. We have 3 hours of mowing to take care of at some point during the day, and are in the midst of demo-ing a barn, so our day will take up all of that until we have a mandatory stop at 4PM for cocktails and to go over what we were able to accomplish over the pas 8-10 hours.

I'm on the road Monday & Tuesday afternoons/early evenings. One of those evenings we will also celebrate our youngest b'day at home. Thursday my husband heads off for a few days of visiting with family/hunting and a family reunion in western MD. He will be home Sunday afternoon or evening.

Dinner tonight was - nothing much. We had a fabulous late lunch and weren't much hungry. Tomorrow's supper remains a mystery, although it's possible it may be burgers depending on the age of the burger rolls in the bread drawer.

Too bad you aren't close by as I have 11 of 12 burger rolls still fresh in my kitchen since we didn't eat the burgers I'd planned for. I may freeze them but by the time I want them again they'll be freezer burned or something.

I did some of my mowing today, and got hot and sweaty. Came in, showered and fell asleep, so now I'm wide awake since 1am.

Also have an itchy eye since it got poked by a piece of straw.

I want to get up, make some coffee and eat a sweet pastry. Resisting that urge as then the rest of the day will go downhill. Need to sleep for 2 more hours, than get up about 5am.

DD ordered Chipotle for lunch yesterday. I got the new steak bowl with a tortilla, guac and sour cream on the side with the corn salsa inside plus some rice and pinto beans. I ate 1/3 and the rest is in the refrigerator. It was good but I just can't eat that much food. I still wasn't hungry at dinner time so skipped it. I'm not hungry now, just wanting sweets, which I have to resist.

Sometimes I make croutons (for salads or soup) in that situation:
Cube the bread and put it in a big ziplock or large bowl with a lid.
Drizzle with melted butter, add whatever seasoning you want, and shake.
Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with non-stick stuff.
Bake at a low temp, stirring frequently, until dry and crispy.
Let cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Tell him to honk when he goes by, I'll wave at him, lol!

Good morning all.
@PollyannaMom --sorry to hear your son isn't feeling well again--sending more prayers

@Judique --I never freeze bread or rolls,,I seem to have no luck preventing freezer burn, no matter how well I wrap/bag them. Good idea pollyannamom has about making them into croutons. I have a few grinder rolls I can do that with today.

Going to be sunny and warm today, getting warmer until 90 on Wednesday, then temps dropping back to more fall like. How is it that Mother Nature knows exactly when the first day of Fall is, and changes our weather accordingly? lol

Did laundry yesterday, cleaned both bathrooms, and just puttered around most of the afternoon. Today is vaccum and wash the kitchen floor, wash the rugs, and get a roast pork ready for the crockpot. Mr L wants me to lay it on a bed of sauerkraut and then put more on top, but I am not a big sauerkraut fan, so I don't plan to put that much in it.

Have a great morning all!
