Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning. It stayed at 62 degrees all night, will go to 72, but they say rain possible after noon time, imagine that, lol. Grass is already growing back up, but I refuse to mow it till next week. Just did it 3 days ago. I am going to stop at the Outdoor Power place tomorrow after Mr L's appt and see if they have any other 42" riding mowers. I am not sure what other brands they carry other than Cub Cadet. I know for sure that they don't carry John Deere, but they must have something else. I don't mind waiting a little longer for the Cub Cadet one, but I don't want to be waiting till the middle of summer either

I already changed out and cleaned the litter boxes and litter mats, Swept the kitchen, wrote out my menu for Easter, and did dishes. Have a load of laundry going. Just waiting a bit and then going out to mow inside the garden, weedwack inside the fence, and move the brush pile to the middle of the garden so I can burn it. Going to have the 2 grandsons move the old coffee table and potato bin cabinet to the burn pile, can't lift them by myself. After I burn, I can start tilling the garden.

Lovely pictures @Breezy_Carol!

Have a great day all

Thank you for sharing such lovely pictures, Carol. God Bless Marty!

Aww, Franklin and Freida are precious. I also pray they find a home together.

Please stay dry, safe, and warm all of you, especially those in wet weather!

No help there, dear Lynn, as I know nothing about mowers. I hope you find a good one :)

Pea, hug, I'd love to adopt a brood of pups and kiddos in need, myself. I hear you on that/ Thank you for giving so much love and care to all species you are called to tend to and embrace more closely.

It's overcast here and cool. It's strange to not be attending any type of Maundy/Holy Thursday service today. Tomorrow, of course, is Good Friday. I pray to extra walk closer in His Way with thanks and joy.

Love to all of you and Happy Thursday.

Good afternoon everyone.

Temp outside? Very nice & pleasant degrees, no jacket needed
Dinner tonight? Not a single clue. Forgot about a vet appt. at 5, and that needs to be followed by a stop at a pet store. High likelihood of pizza or Wawa or I don't know what.
I scheduled a massage for myself later this month, and tomorrow I'm getting a much needed pedicure followed by the terrible idea of going to do a bit of shopping in Northern DE which has me traveling home at rush hour on a major highway on a major holiday weekend. Oh well, I'm just going to roll with it. Can't complain when I put myself in that situation!
When I got up this AM my husband was getting the pups up and outside, so I made my coffee and sat on the porch. It was sooooo nice out this AM. I'm going to miss this nice weather after today. I think we are due for a colder week ahead. I guess soon enough it will be warm and then I'll be wishing it was fall so I should stop complaining while I'm ahead

Good afternoon.

Waiting for storms to blow through. Nice out now and 78.

Started PT again this morning for sacral pain, still. Then grocery shopped. Have done my tablescape for Easter. Arranged some flowers I bought at the grocery.
There is a Jersey Mike's near my older DS.
I've only been once and was less than impressed. Maybe need to try again.

Did you see Franklin and Frieda on the news this morning?
They are lovely. Having adopted a bonded pair through rescue, I know how much they depend on each other. I hope someone finds it in their heart to take them both. Every time I see dogs in need, I want them.

tomorrow I'm getting a much needed pedicure
I need one too but only getting a haircut tomorrow.

Currently poaching some chicken to shred to put in macaroni and cheese for our Saturday family dinner. Then going to make chili for dinner tonight and to freeze.

So glad some of you are getting to enjoy :sunny:

Quiet Thursday here. Waiting for some mail✉️ to come later on.

I just remembered. QOTD: Share a positive restaurant experience or two. Grandpa owned (before I was born) and later managed several restaurants. I remember one time going to lunch with a young friend of mine when we were 8 or 9 and enjoying waffles with ice cream with grandpa. No clear memory but I definitely know grandpa would take me with him sometimes when he went to see his podiatrist. Afterwards we would go to breakfast. Grandpa was so special to me. I've shared before that I have realized as an adult he truly was my first witness to Christ. Many years later, when grandma and I lived in Northern, CA, we would go to dinner every Monday night at a local family type restaurant. We had a regular waitress so was always so kind to us and cared about grandma's well-being. God Bless her.

With dad, I think we both will always hold dear a regular Denny's waitress who became a friend to us both. We got to call and send into Denny's corporate our thanks to Jen. I even got to talk with some Denny's higher ups a couple times when they were at the restaurant while we were. This was also at a time when this particular location had a wonderful manager, too. Dad and I ran into George one time outside of Denny's. He had been at a Denny's business meeting earlier and all a bunch of promotional stuff in his car. He gave us a really nice Denny's insulated thermos.

Other good experiences for sure. Very blessed indeed. How about each of you? :)

QOTD: Share a positive restaurant experience or two.

I forgot about this. Chris and I went out every Friday night for date night. We had a few regular restaurants that we loved going to. One was a local family restaurant and we knew most of the wait staff. One waitress we got to know well and she even met our oldest DGD when we brought her to dinner with us. She moved to another one of our favorites and we were so surprised to see her there. We always asked for her. She is kind and such a good person. She goes above and beyond. Younger DS and I went to lunch at this restaurant a couple of months ago and she was working. I told her about Chris and she was heartbroken. Her husband is battling cancer so we are praying for each other and for her husband. Another restaurant we went to was a small local Italian place. The waitresses all knew us and we would chat and have a nice dinner. A good wait staff goes a long way to making a good dining experience. The food is important and all these places have good food but good servers make the dinner.

I have tomorrow off and hope to meet a friend. Then I think I may just try to have an easy day. I will stop by the house on my way to check things out but no packing tomorrow. I will go pack on Saturday.

Have a nice evening.

Quick hello And save from near the bottom of the page.

ive been busy trying to get some things back in order in the house. Then comes the process of picking pictures of the family to print and hang. I think the shoe issue for my husband is mostly resolved. I had to get all of the paperwork from the drs. I dropped that off today and I will call Tuesday for the appointment to have him fitted.

other than that we are getting ready for Easter and LJ’s baptism. I am making 2 cakes and Mexican street corn salad. We are all going to my moms after church and I do like to bring something. I am headed to Lancaster tomorrow and then the outlets for my summer sneakers. I will have 3 giggling 13 year girls in the car so that will be fun.

QOTD I have had a few bad experiences in restaurants. One was in Disney and I did address it with the management. The worst was my birthday dinner a few years ago. I wanted Cracker Barrel and tried the Sunday fried chicken dinner. I woke up in the middle of the night with what I think was food poisoning. I was so sick my husband wanted to call 911. He was a saint and cleaned the bathroom for me between bouts of sickness. I had Salmonella when my son was an infant and I think I was sicker after the dinner than I was with salmonella. It takes a lot for me to complain though as I waitressed my way through college so I know what they go through.

I hope you all have a good night. I will go back and catch up tomorrow.

Good Morning.

@TazDev Glad to hear things are going in the right direction with the shoes. Have a nice time in Lancaster.

It is 43 here now with a bit of low fog. It is supposed to be near 60 today with sun. It is nice to have a more relaxing morning. I will see my friend, stop off at the house, and pick up pastries for Sunday. The bakery will be mobbed tomorrow so I will get them later today. I keep them in the fridge with wrap over them in the bakery boxes.

Easter is hard this year as it is another first for me. Chris and I always got each other Easter baskets. I miss making up one for him and I always loved getting one from him. I bought some Easter candy and told Chris he bought it for me. It is what he would have gotten for me. I also have a card to make out for him. It helps me to write and thinking of giving him a card helps a bit. I will miss the flowers too. I do have 7 Easter baskets to make up, one for each of the 5 grandkids and one for each son and DDIL.

Have a good day.

Good Friday morning to all. @Snowysmom -- :grouphug:

Woke up to a frosty morning, 40 degrees and frost everywhere. Nothing like the 62 we woke up to yesterday. Will be going to the 70's though, but a big cool down coming next week. Mr L has an appt this afternoon, to go over his low dose CT scan (they do one every year since he's stopped smoking for the last almost 15 years), then a stop at Harbor Freight. My laundry room hanging light is flickering and driving me nuts. It's cheaper to just buy a new LED one than to buy 2 four foot bulbs! Then a quick stop at Martins for coke, on sale,b2g2 free, and a couple of other things. Might pick up an extra half gallon of milk for Easter in case anyone wants that to drink instead of iced tea, lemonade, or water. I have everything else I need for dinner. Will have to run and get a bag of ice tomorrow for the cooler ,,no more room in the fridge,,lol

Have a lovely friday everyone!

Happy Good Friday! :sunny:

Weather is going to be nice today so I'll definitely get out and cut the grass later today. Supposed to rain for a bit during the night so I'll do other yard work tomorrow afternoon. Got the garage cleaned out yesterday so tomorrow I'll move the extra tires that my kids keep in the garage to under the deck.

Had to pick up Ds2 after work yesterday, his tire blew out on the highway. AAA got him and the car to Goodyear and I picked him up there. Was able to see my big granddog when I dropped him off :dog:. Grabbed a pizza on the way home.

Got the Easter baskets made up yesterday. I ran back up to Dollar Tree to get the pets their baskets and a basket for Ds3's girlfriend. Wouldn't you know, I remembered the pet's baskets and some extra plastic eggs but forgot the girlfriend's basket. Back to the store again this weekend :rolleyes2.

House cleaning and laundry on the agenda for this morning while I'm working from home. :laundy:

I doubt I'll be on the computer over the weekend so I hope everyone enjoys the weekend and has a nice Easter. :rose:

Good morning everyone -
Just wanted to stop by and wish those of you who celebrate Easter this weekend and Passover & Ramadan this month good wishes.
I've got a short work day ahead of me, headed out before lunch to run errands and whatnot. No plans of any significance this weekend, besides mowing! Might get started on removing another section of fence we've determined needs to go, and if we are so inclined we might go to the movies to see the new Fantastic Beasts movie.
Have a good weekend -

Good Friday Peace to all of you!

:grouphug:Snowysmom and thank you for sharing such beautiful memories with us.

Yikes, Taz, how awful! :( I am also so glad to hear the shoe process is moving along and God Bless LJ.

What pretty flowers, Lynn! Your weather out there is crazy! Please take care and stay well!

I am so glad your Ds had AAA, Footballmouse! Aw, that you got to see your grand-dog.

I hope you do treat yourself to a movie, Easyas, and enjoy it!

It's cool here this morning again. I will watch worship this evening, thanks, Carol. Waiting for a couple packages during the day. I need to make dad's Easter card still!

Hugs to all and I will check back later.

Good afternoon.

Started off the morning with a hair cut. I always feel lighter and springier after. Then to the gas station to fill up one more time before Maryland's gas tax moratorium ends this weekend. DH and I went to Home Depot to get a new toilet seat to replace one that broke. Saw some nice poly Adirondack chairs for $20 but couldn't buy as we were in DH's sedan. Plan to go back later in my SUV to get two. Also saw a new gas grill we are considering. Reminds us of our early married years when we used to go to Hechinger's so often.

We have both been working on cleaning house. All that is left is for DH to mop kitchen floor. He is out for a bike ride now and I am taking a break from cooking. I have prepped broccoli to roast tomorrow. And made caramel frosting and frosted the cupcakes I baked yesterday. Just have to make the mac and cheese and add the already poached and shredded chicken to it. Then I can bake it tomorrow. Only other thing to cook tomorrow is a lemon meringue pie.

One good restaurant experience I remember is at an Outback Steakhouse near my mother's retirement community. She had mobility issues and I just remember how kind and caring they were to her.

Another good one was in WDW at the Prime Time Café. It was in 1996, about 10 days after my father passed away. (That is a whole other story.) DD was 10 and DS 8. We had a great waitress who really played the part and we all played along. At one point, DH had made an infraction and was forced to stand in the corner while everyone in the restaurant said "shame, shame, shame". I was laughing so hard I couldn't speak. The folks at the next table wanted to know what he did and I couldn't speak to tell them. I think it was just the emotional outlet I needed after my father's long illness and passing.

Well, back to work to get together for tomorrow's guests.

Waving good afternoon 🌼

Love how you put that Carol about feeling springier after a haircut. I used to feel the same way and just fresher, too. I really need to have dad trim my hair one day soon!

Quiet afternoon. Dad has gone to the library and a couple quick errands. I am most grateful that he'll be home all weekend otherwise. No mail or packages yet here. I hope all of you are having a good afternoon 🐥

Bright sunshine, slight breeze and 75 degrees. Mr L's appt went well..the CT scan showed his lungs were still clear . Then she had us go see the respiratory medical assistance person (different than the other one who did all our other meds). She said she is going to refile his application for Anoro for the rest of the year..that she's never had a patient denied, and just in case they do..she will just give him another med like it that a different drug company does. She said our out of pocket expenses from Jan till April certainly meet all their guidelines, so here's hoping! They denied it when the other girl sent it in, but this one thinks she might have different paperwork and different connections at the drug company, lol
Stopped at Martins,,place was a zoo. Got 4 cartons of coke (well coke, cherry coke, sprite and barq's -b2g2 free,,and 4 6 packs of 7 up-a and w rootbeer and ginger ale () and a lady who had 2 carts full of it (even though it said 3 per customer) and she had a handful of $5 off 4 6 packs..she gave me one..so it only cost me $6 for 4 6 packs..good deal. Got extra milk..and found out that instead of having dinner at 2 like I planned,,we have to wait till 5:30-6 because one of the grandsons has to work at Walmart till 5:30

Just got a sad text from one of my Sister in Laws. The one that threw the bridal shower 2 weeks ago. Our nephew and his fiancee have called off the wedding (which was to be June 11) :( He is having too many doubts..better now than after, but still a sad thing. SIL says she has all the gifts and they will be returned to everyone next week. They were also in the middle of buying a house, so I don't know what is going to happen with that

Dinner is going to be shrimp po'boys, coleslaw and cantaloup--
Have a nice rest of the day

Yeah on Mr. L.'s appointment and the soda deals!

Sorry about the wedding, but as you said, better to realize it now than to go through a divorce later - especially if they'd ended up having kids.

Glad Mr. L is doing well. It is too bad about the wedding but, as you said, better before than years after.

I just put together the Easter baskets. Too much candy as usual. Oh well, I will have to take one for the team and have some sweets this weekend.

Have a nice evening.
