Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good for you, Judique! And very good customer service, too!

Carol, I loved the children's moment from church yesterday, meant to tell you that.

The afternoon is brightening up a little bit which is, of course, an extra blessing. Dad is at the library (for now only afternoon hours are offered which is too bad but we're grateful that they are open for book pickup period) and post office. I always feel badly when he needs to go out twice in one day. Thankfully he should be home in not too long a time. I'm waiting for an Amazon delivery of his lunch bag. I need to decide when to give it to him. If it comes when he's not here, it'll be easier to save it until Easter. Otherwise, I'll tell him that it's truly part of an Easter and in a way early Father's Day gift, too.

Extra grateful this Monday for a really nice phone conversation with my cousins last night. Please do keep them in prayer. Health issues. Ruth did enjoy her TBAA and other birthday surprises. Also meant a lot that dad was able to share some homemade cookies with a few homeless folks and that God-willing this weekend ahead is when we will be making a big batch of chocolate chip cookies to be served at the Palm Sunday lunch in the park. Barbara Ann will pick those up along with Terri's birthday basket.

No call yet, btw, from 99. I will let all of you when I do hear from them :)

It looks like smilies are still "loading." Oh well.

Have a great rest of the afternoon and early evening friends.

Previous link was for you, @flyingdumbo127

Good evening every one.

Been a busy couple of days. We filled over 700 eggs the other day for Easter. I then proceeded to pick up the box to move it and the bottom fell out. Thankfully we only lost a handful of eggs with unwrapped candy. I thought we still needed to get more candy but wiser heads prevailed and we think we will be OK. My problem is there is one boy, who really is getting to old for this event, that bullies his way around and walks away with 2 bags of eggs while some kids are crying that they found none. The priest's wife wants to put a limit on how many you can find but that won't work, I have tried. I may discreetly have a chat with his grandmother and hope that helps. The child is a spoiled brat with no limits. He is around 13 now so I can hope. We do separate the children into 3 age groups: 4 and under so the toddlers have their own area, 4-8 and I know there is some overlap but we have an area for them so they don't get trampled, then there is the 9 and up group in the cemetery. Now to pray for no rain.

I don't know if I mentioned that we ran into a problem when we got to the closet. There was a bit of mold. Thankfully bleach spray killed it off. I think something I had in the closet leaked out and seeped into the floor. There was a layer of vinyl, plywood and another layer of vinyl so it was able to flourish a bit. The spray worked and the floor went in yesterday. It came out wonderfully. The electrician came back today and did some minor things. I wanted a dimmer switch and I got a new outdoor light that needed to be installed. All these little things really make such a difference.

I did spend some time with my mom today who was very positive for a change. I have lost some hearing and know I need to address it but have been fighting infections off and on for about 6 years. Something I never had an issue with before. Mom agrees finally that the ENT I was seeing was not helpful and I did tell her I am in the process of checking out a couple of recommendations. She also helped me find some nice sandals for dress. I live in sneakers so I really appreciated the input. With the cruise I will need a couple of nicer outfits and I think I made some nice choices. Again I live in T-Shirts under collared shirts so I am not great at picking things out. I go for comfort more than style and my mom is always getting on me to dress my age not like a teenager. She was happy with my choices, but so was I.

My daughter called me with a story that I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She was on the turnpike doing about 70 MPH when an owl committed suicide with her jeep. The beautiful owl flew right into her car. She did the right thing and didn't swerve but she wanted to know if she should call animal control, should she go back and make sure it was dead, a total "I feel so guilty for killing it". I tried to get her to calm down and realize that as much as I love owls, I love her and Anthony more and she could have been a serious car accident if she swerved. there was a tractor trailer on her side or the guardrail. The tractor trailer would have jack-knifed and at 70 MPH hitting a guardrail she might have left the other 2 boys without a mother. She calmed down and then called to tell me that the radio played "Knocking On Heaven's Door" right after that. I did laugh then. It was an omen that the bird was in the Great Hunting Field in the Sky.

QOTD: There are so many things that bring me joy when I take the time to appreciate them. My family - the kids and grandkids - top that list. When I am in the need of a peaceful setting to refocus my energies a walk in the woods or just sitting on a beach watching the waves roll in absolutely bring me joy and a calmness to recenter myself. My photography also brings me a great deal of joy. Being able to get the perfect picture of my grandson playing ball, the smile on LJ's face, a bird in flight. Still having my parents at my age is also a source of joy. I find that if I try and focus on the joys in life I am able to forget the negatives that I can be prone to dwell on.

Hope everyone has a good night,

Hug, Taz and thank you for all your church service. Prayers for the 13 year old boy. Praise God that you enjoyed a positive interaction with your mom. Truly, I am so grateful to hear that, my friend.

Have a fantastic trip, dear Bobbiwoz! I look forward to hearing about your adventures and seeing some pictures, too.

Still waiting for Amazon to come. Dad is safely home :)

Good Morning. It is 32 now going up into the 50s today. Good for walking.

My joy right now is kids and grankids and walking outside. I love to be in nature and watch the birds and small animals.

Now I need to make coffee, sit a bit and talk with Chris, and then work.

Have a good day.

Good morning! 38 now going to mid 50's but calling for rain today and tomorrow. After that sunny days, which means the grass will grow even taller. Mr L is going to have to get moving and go with me to look at riding mowers by the end of the week, or I am picking it out by myself!

Today is cleaning day, making grocery list, and gather trash day. After that I will see if I feel like getting into anything.

Cute duck video @PollyannaMom--thanks for the smiles it gave me!

Have a great Tuesday everyone~~

Happy Tuesday morning :)

At airport, and heading to WDW,😊
Have fun!!!! Here's to wishing for great weather and low crowds during your trip :).

Nothing much exciting in my part of the world. Made some salmon and veggies for dinner last night, put some aside for Ds3's lunch today. Went outside with the dogs and played soccer with Carly. Boomer was too busy sniffing around the bushes.

1649157234680.jpeg

Started off watching the basketball game but it didn't start until after 9:00 so of course I fell asleep at halftime.

Back in the office today so I'll work on things that are easier in the office vs at home. I have 2 computer monitors at work but only 1 at home, having 2 really makes a difference for some things.

That's all from me today, hope everyone has a good day. :)

Good morning.

Had to stay awake to watch the end of the basketball game. It was a good game.

Yesterday we did go on a hike, 2.5 miles in Fair Hill to find signs of spring. Found our geese getting ready to start their families again. And home, did get DH to help me dig up and split on of the hostas that was growing too close to a bush.

After uninspired dinner of fish, French fries, and corn, I had a Zoom church meeting. DH took my list and went shopping solo for the first in a looonnnggg time. He only got two things that weren’t exactly what I would have gotten. So nice not to have that chore today.

Today is my day to sit at church. Then I am going to get a second COVID booster as I am in the recommended elderly group. I was on the fence but DH was going and I watched the news about the variants and figured I’d go. This evening is yoga.

@easyas123 and @Judique, have you seen the ship stuck in the bay? We might take a drive to see it.

@TazDev, DD hit a cat on the way to band practice in high school. She was beside herself but there was no way to avoid it. The band made the “Dead Cat Award” for dedication to the band.

@bobbiwoz, have a great time. And when you get home, explain Genie to me.

@PollyannaMom, thanks! Now I know how to pick up a duck.

Have a good today.

Good morning everyone, hope all is well with you & your families.
I've missed several items of interest, but went back 2 pages in an attempt to catch up!
We have had a keurig for about a year, and know I'm wondering what is going on inside of it! I'm not sure I want to know! We actually got a Keurig for the office that is connected directing to the water line, so there is no need to fill it. Thinking of getting one of those for our home kitchen now.
I've been looking over the French Press selection on Amazon and amazingly, I found the same style that I broke the carafe from
We keep a french press in case we lose power in the AM. I quite like the french press coffee.
congratulations to Snowysmom on the condo
I'll echo this Snowysmom! I hope all your closing some to fruition and go smoothly. I hope the idea of new surroundings and a place you feel if "you" brings you some peace and tranquility .
QOTD: What brings you joy?
hmmm, a lot of things and I guess I could answer this differently anytime of year...but since we are in spring I'll say I'm currently taking joy in seeing things come back to life from their dormant winter state. I usually do a big clean up on the porch and once it's done I start to fill my pots and baskets with flowers, nothing better at the end of the day to coming home to a cheery porch, bugs & birds humming and a fresh breeze. My adult children are successfully& independently living their lives, my husband and I are back to making grand plans for both the farm and our immediate and future travel plans...so I'll say the ho-hum of everyday living is pretty joyful right now!

His list got longer the longer he stayed last nite, lol!
Sounds like my husband and I went we start thinking of things to do around here!
Have a wonderful time!
Ads? I'm not seeing any ads at all.
I also keep seeing references to ads, but I guess I lucked out and am not seeing any either.
I have noticed that the prices on Chewy have gone up everytime I order.
Yes - my monthly order has gone up almost $15 for the same thing. I've been fortunate in that at least they have had a consistent supply of the dog food we use. I hear such horror stories from folks and trying to get their specific needed types of cat food and figure all things considered I've made out okay.
Something a patient told me once about the walk in tubs that I had not considered. If it is the kind that has a door that seals closed then you fill with water, when you drain it, it has to be empty before you open the door so you can get cold sitting there wet.
I wouldn't have thought of that either! Keeping that tucked away for future use.
Meeting with our financial guy tomorrow to invest the proceeds from selling the office.
Happy investing. We've got some changes coming up next year I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for as well.
We went to San Antonio over the weekend for my SIL's funeral mass on Saturday morning
It sounds as if your family had a very memorable memorial for your SIL, which I'm sure was nice for everyone that attended.
We filled over 700 eggs the other day for Easter.
whew! those kids are sure to love that!
I love to be in nature and watch the birds and small animals.
Me, too. Especially the sounds of the birds & bugs busy this time of year. And the frogs and what not early in the AM/late PM.
Fair Hill
Went by there on our way up to the Dansko Outlet Saturday morning, it was as pretty as ever. I think we are headed up there for the Scottish Games later next month.
have you seen the ship stuck in the bay? We might take a drive to see it.
I have! First saw it around 4:45 AM on my way to BWI with my brother, all you could see was the lights of the tugs. When we came back by (plunge weekend) we could see it from the bridge, but not super great. Just looked like - again - some tugs around a ship. There must be way better views than the bridge though. They keep interviewing folks on TV from a particular park on the western shore that looks like it has a great/close view - but I keep missing exactly what park it is!

Well, lets see - what's going on? Not terribly much. Considering taking the 15th off for a long weekend - we'll see. I've got a fair bit I need to get taken care of here at work today, and tomorrow I'm at a jobsite for all of the morning, possibly some of the afternoon to conduct some training.

I've ordered 2 new outdoor rugs for the porch, one of which arrived yesterday. I'm eager to get my porch set to rights but first I need to power wash the whole thing and that takes some time. I don't like to do it in bits & pieces, I'd rather just get it all done in one day if I can. I wonder if I could order up a nice, sunny 83 degree day for that on the next Saturday or Sunday?!?!? haha I wish it was that easy!

Yard work is on the agenda all weekend for me. I've got to do some serious weeding and then mulch. I want to work in my stumpery, and we have some additional fencing that needs to be pulled out. Plus this weekend the plowing for the "for fun" fields and the garden need to happen. Husband sprayed the areas last weekend, so it should be about ready. I think we may get to planting the garden the following weekend...we'll see.

Dinner tonight? Not sure, possibly tomato bisque. Or shrimp & salad.

Went by there on our way up to the Dansko Outlet Saturday morning,
DH used to go to the Dansko Outlet a lot when his mom was in Jennerspond.

They keep interviewing folks on TV from a particular park on the western shore that looks like it has a great/close view -
I am pretty sure it is Downs Park. I have looked at the ship location on marine traffic and this is the closest. I think we will drive down one day.

Good Morning,

Cool here, warming up tomorrow :) Dad liked his new yellow/green lunch bag. I briefly showed it to him last night. The bigger explanation along with contents will be revealed on Easter. Always good to see a bunch of new morning shares. Wishing each of you joy this morning and always. I will check in again later.

Good morning everyone. Made it back from the cruise yesterday and oh boy, we were so exhausted. LOL We had such a good time, met so many nice people but did not relax at all...lol We were constantly doing something so we crashed as soon as we got home. (Really missing the smilies...:( ) The weather was a lot colder than we would've liked but it was still great. We gambled a little Saturday in the casino and I won $150. It goes on your card and then you need to cash out before you get off the ship so Sunday night, DH and I went to cash our cards out(he had like $20), he decided to put his in a slot machine instead and won $750. So basically our trip was paid for with his winnings....lol We were so excited.

I not caught up on the posts so Im going to skim to back a couple days to see what I've missed but hope you all are doing well. Be back later....:)

No, haven't seen the ship but I read about it the week it happened. I'm surprised it's still there but those cargo ships are enormous. If I remember correctly it's off by Pasadena.

Apparently Good Morning America did a cover on it (this morning?) so including the link:

Love that you both won!

My older DD is going on an Alaska cruise on Holland America with her Dad and his wife end of July. It's a 1 week cruise and she's excited. He got it some way through their Wyndam timeshare at a very low cost. They can have 4 so she was checking on paying to bring the grands - would have to pay regular rate for the 5th person. Turns out that doesn't double the cost - it quadruples it. So I told her just take the oldest as youngest can go with me and we will have fun. She's divided as she would like to take both.

Nothing new here. I made some cinnamon rolls and they were delish. I ate two and now I'm counting the calories. It's supposed to be raining but it's just dribbling. Still, it's damp and overcast.

Still cloudy, but no rain yet. We took a quick trip to the discount grocery place just over the PA line. I was going to go to Outdoor Power to look at mowers, but they don't have of the one I want in stock. He said they are on order, and trickle in when they trickle in. He took my name and number and said he will have someone call when they come in , and that one will be marked sold for me, in case that's the one I decide to take. Told him to add the mulch kit to it (deflector thing and blade), as Mr L says I won't be happy with the blade that comes on it,,lol. He is taking a nap, I am going to take a hot bath. I haven't slept well the last few nites, and it's catching up with me. All trash is ready to go out, grocery list made (things I bought today already crossed off it), and I dusted but haven't vacuumed yet. That can wait till tomorrow after errands are done.
Have a nice afternoon everyone
