Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

@ tazdev sorry for your loss. Our furbabies are so important to us. Beautiful cat. He is well and running free now. I hope you can convince your DH to get a walker with a seat. It will be so helpful for him and he will enjoy the cruise and other trips or even just going to the store more.

I got quotes from movers. I am tending towards the higher priced one because he took the time to try to be as accurate as possible not just estimate loosely. Also he has 3 guys for 6.5 hours where others have 2 guys for 4 hours. There is a piano to move and it may take 3 guys even though it is a small one. Plus he seemed more knowledgeable and understood that using an elevator will take more time than a usual move as people still have to be able to use the elevator. The condo complex also has rules and regulations regarding moves and he was aware of that. I think the other 2 companies would end up around the same price because 4 hours will not be enough and I want my piano to be safe. Chris gave me the piano. He wanted me to get into playing it more than at Christmas so maybe now I will. I am going to listen to my gut. This whole process is wearing me down so I want to make it as easy as possible. It is not that I don't care about the money as I do but it also has to give me peace and be the right way.

I am staying with my NH trip in May. I talked with younger DS to talk it out. My brain is not so great lately. I will be rested going into everything and I can spend the month of June getting the condo set up and see what I need to buy. Plus North Conway will be on the quiet side so more relaxing.

Saved from the bottom of the page.

My heart is broken. Sadly Jack was too I'll to try and save so we had to say our goodbyes. I know his spirit is free with his brother but it really is tough being a grown up. Hopefully the picture will loadView attachment 660524

He is the tan guy in the front. We named the boys Jack and Barbosa. Jack was my sweet goofy boy just like Jack Sparrow. Barbossa was a bully. I always swore Jack missed his brother so they are together again.

The big guy in the back is Also.

Jack looks very much like my Richard.

I'm sorry you had to make the hard decision. How old was Jack?

I especially "liked" your post dear Snowysmom for your wise reminder words (please do remember them) that this process has to give you peace! Also thankful to hear you are going ahead with your trip. Extra hug and always continued prayers!

It's warmed up so wonderfully today, hooray! :)

I'd appreciate dad prayers for tomorrow as he has another procedure. Thank you as always and forever, my friends.

I did call the 99 Cent Only Store Corporate Office and spoke with a nice lady named Janie. She said she was going to personally email the marketing team right then and there so hopefully I do hear back. She really liked the idea for Sue :)

Quiet Wednesday otherwise.

Jack just turned 10. He was found in my daughter's backyard with his brother. Someone moved and tossed the parents away. My daughter's neighbor gave the 2 babies to her. It was funny though. She had a fixed female who decided she was their mother and even tried to nurse them. When we couldn't find a no kill shelter to take them, my husband and I made the decision to keep the boys. We named them Barbossa and Captain Jack. Obviously I do like theme names. The boys lived up to their names, Barbossa was a bully and Jack was a crazy little guy. We lost Barbossa 5 years ago in a freak accident and I don't think Jack ever really stopped missing him. My comfort is that they are together again. It was just so sudden as he seemed fine last week, hid for a few days which he did from time to time, and then last night I knew something was wrong. It just seems so surreal right now.

Add to all this I had to take my husband to the foot dr. His toe has completely healed so we can order new shoes. The place we get them from no longer just takes Medicare and they are the only place around here that makes the custom fitted shoes. Tomorrow I have to call the foot doctor, the diabetes doctor and the show place again. I want a supervisor. The shoes he can't wear right now were fitted in June last year. They weren't ordered until September and took til early November for us to get them. By the end of November there was a sore. I took the shoe and they "stretched" it. By Christmas he had a small ulcer. By January he was ordered not to wear the shoe at all and almost lost his toe. I want answers and someone to explain why I now have to jump through hoops to get the new shoes when we had so many issues. I need to wait til tomorrow because today I was not in the right frame of mind. My temper would have taken over my cool head.

Mona - prayers all goes well for your dad.

@Snowysmom - glad things are moving forward in a good way for you.

Off to eat my dinner. Just hot dogs and mac & Cheese. I wasn't in the mood for much else. Have a good night all.

I met my older DD at Ikea at lunch time and I had a salmon filet with veggies. She had the meatballs and mashed potatoes. So will not eat a full meal tonight. I also returned a shelf that I had picked up with another one. Used the other one. Fortunately I got it back instead of letting it get down to the basement, only to become part of the mess down there. Too much stuff.

They leave tomorrow for their Disney cruise and I had picked up a couple of things for the girls, dresses, swim suits, and other odds and ends. Needed to drop them off. DD loved everything. Then she had to run back to work and I browsed for a bit but didn't see anything I had to have.

Back home and in for the evening.

Good evening.

Watching Survivor.

DH and I got second COVID boosters yesterday. I woke up with such a headache this morning. And my legs hurt, but I think that was a result of yoga. DH didn't feel that great either. We are recovered now.

This afternoon, after we felt better and the rain stopped, we went to Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna River. The shad are running and we heard there were lots of eagles there because of all the fish. There were. We saw easily 20+ eagles. More than I saw in Alaska. Very cool.

DD had me get the My Disney Experience and app so she could link our accounts. She bought park tickets. Thank heavens she is being our travel agent and planner. This is overwhelming. Her in-laws, who are also going, have never been to WDW so she and her DH can do their planning. She just tells me what to do. I will be glad for any tips you all have.

he decided to put his in a slot machine instead and won $750.
Hurray for a win!

I close on the condo on May 18. I close on my house either May 16 or May 23.
Yay! Glad this is all coming together.

time to say goodbye to my oldest cat Jack.
So sorry you had to say good bye. I've never had a cat but I am sure losing any furbaby is the same loss.

Now the discussion on buying one with a seat or just the one he got in rehab begins.
My professional device. You are probably considering a Rollator. Something like this. Be aware that they move much more quickly than a regular walker. And that may be fine, but maybe DH should try one first, if possible.

. I want answers and someone to explain why I now have to jump through hoops to get the new shoes when we had so many issues
Good luck!

Good evening everyone. Dinner was venison tenderloin w/ a baked potato. There not a dang thing on TV tonight, so the big guy (dog) is watching David Venable (don't judge my dog, he has questionable taste in TV & we know it...but he scares away the JW's & questionable types so we make allowances for his terrible tastes in TV!)
Cinnamon rolls sound delicious.
Man, I love a good cinnamon roll.
we had to say our goodbyes.
Awww that sucks. I'm sorry.
I am going to listen to my gut
I think you've got a smart gut instinct.
I'd appreciate dad prayers for tomorrow as he has another procedure.
Good luck to him, hope all goes well.
I need to wait til tomorrow because today I was not in the right frame of mind.
I can't imagine, I'd have been livid as well. I hope you can get a resolution to the whole situation.

Tomorrow looks like a almost total wash out with rain & t-storms most of the day. I've got grand plans to work on some needed paperwork and then I need to clean/tidy up my office. This afternoon I found a recipe I must have printed out - coconut cream pound cake. I think I'm going to try to make one this weekend. If it turns out okay I'll make one for my SIL for Easter next weekend. I'm not a Easter person or joining in any family get togethers but I thought it might make a nice addition to the table and I don't want to send my husband over there empty handed!
I was on the road by 5 this morning in order to be at a training session starting at 7 and I'm knackered. I'm trying to make it till 9!
Have a good evening everyone -

Thank you dear Taz and an extra hug, my friend. I love your share of the cat that adopted the kitten, how sweet and in true Quacker spirit! Prayers on a resolution to your DH’s shoes. I remember the trouble you have had with this company in the past. I’m sorry you still are. Get some rest and have a brighter day tomorrow.

I wish your DD and her dad a fun WDW trip, Judique! Dad is thinking about going to IKEA sometime soon to look for new nightstands (or something that could work as a nightstand) and more importantly, new kitchen chairs. The chairs we have are very uncomfortable and offer little (dad) or no (for me) back support. I hope you and your DD enjoyed your lunch. Dad used to like every now and then eating at IKEA. I remember years ago they would send him a free birthday lunch offer by email along with (I think) a few dollars birthday coupon. Sadly both of those promotions are long past. He appreciated them for a while.

Thank you so much, Snowysmom. It really would mean a lot to Sue and me to be able to do for her, too. I’ll always remember so many times when she kindly had me spend the night at her house for one reason or another—usually because of something going on the next day at church and/or streets being closed in my neighborhood that would have prevented me from getting to church on a Sunday. Good memories indeed.

So glad you and your DH are feeling better, Carol! How fun to more WDW planning.

Thank you, Easyas. LOL to your TV watching dog. He would get along with it seems PollyannaMom’s leash walking cats—same fun pet spirit. Please stay safe tomorrow! I hope you enjoy your pound cake. Dad would like that (I’m not a coconut fan). The only pound cake I’ve ever had was Sara Lee which I don’t think (it’s been YEARS since I’ve last had it) was anything special. I’m sure yours, especially home-made will be a TON better.

I was updating my birthday list a little while ago. Should I not have any of your birthdays already and you want to share with me (or us) let me know and I'll add you.

Have a good night's rest friends.

Giving a nighttime bump.

We had chicken pot pie with cranberry sauce tonight and it was good. Nice to have on a rainy, chilly, blustery day.

I told you earlier it was a nice day to sleep. Well, sleep I did, and it felt good. I woke up in a good mood but I didn’t remember until later in the day why. I had a really nice dream of my mother. She hugged me. I told her I missed her, and she said she missed me too. It felt peaceful, and nice - something my dreams usually are not. And I remembered every detail. 💞

Enjoy your Thursday, Quackers! 🐥

@Pea-n-Me What a nice dream. You mom came to visit and gave you a hug. So sweet.

Carol I hope you have a nice WDW trip . It does require alot of planning now. I am going to let my younger DDIL lead the way on our Oct trip, I may have some suggestions but I am going along for the ride.

It is 35 now heading up in the 50s. I am going to watch my DGS' swimming lessons this afternoon. I am also going to book with the mover and set that up. I am stressed by everything I have to do but I am trying to just take it a day at a time. Even once I am in the condo I will slowly get it set up so I don't get overwhelmed.

Have a nice day.

Well….I don’t know about THAT! :)!!!! My cooking is average at best and my baking is almost exclusively from a box! So we will see how it turns out…that Sara Lee pound cake was part of a staple dessert for holiday times in our family- fried pound cake a la mode.

Good Thursday morning! :)

Decided last night to venture out to Ds1's soccer game. It's been raining off and on for the past two days and I decided that I needed to stop watching TV after I get home from work and go do something. Stopped at Sam's Club on the way there and picked up some grilled chicken and breakfast sandwiches. I usually bring snacks and juice boxes for the team (as a joke) so I grabbed a container of M&M chocolate chip cookies. Unfortunately they lost but they were happy that I brought the cookies. Nothing like cookies and beer after the game.

Recorded Survivor since I was gone so as soon as I got home I watched that. Nothing too exciting about the episode. I did have to text my sister and tell her not to text me while she's watching since I wasn't home. We usually watch it and text back and forth about what's happening.

Just heated up left overs last night for dinner. Tonight we're going to make our own little pizzas using Naan bread instead of pizza dough. I have no idea if these will turn out but we'll see. If it's a bust, there's always Chipotle.

My heart is broken. Sadly Jack was too I'll to try and save so we had to say our goodbyes.
So sorry to hear about Jack. I'm sure he was always grateful that you took him and his brother in to be part of your family. We was a beautiful boy and I loved his and his brother's names.

That's all for me, hope everyone has a great day. :)

Carol Saying prayers for your DDIL and baby.

Naan breads are the only way we make our pizza at home. I get the garlic ones from Aldi's..so good!

Good morning..here's a surprise, it's raining again. Everything is soaked, and muddy and just gloomy. It's in the 50's where it will stay all day. I am not even tempted to clean today,,going to be a do nothing day, lol!

We lucked out yesterday. Mr L was parked at Walmart while I went in. He called me to say that some moron in a big blue pick up truck, backed right into the car next to ours. It was a fairy new blue SUV he backed into , and he put a good dent in the right corner of the bottom of the hatchback. Looked like they would have to replace the whole thing. Mr L grabbed the pick up truck license # and when I came out I grabbed the car he hit plate #, and went in and reported it to Walmart so they could page the owner. The guy who hit it, left a note on the windshield with his name and #, but the car owner was appreciative that someone had thought to do it, just in case.

Off to take a quick shower, Mr L said he's making pancakes for breakfast, not my favorite, but he promised to make mine blueberry, lol

Have a nice day all,,stay dry~
