Stores were busy this morning, even at 9:15. Got our corned beef for St Patricks Day, in case it gets to be in short supply. Cabbages are almost non existant,,the ones they did have looked brown and ugly. I found a holy grail in Walmart..in a canned cat food row, which was empty,,on a shelf all by itself..were 2 4-packs of 9 lives seafood platter,,which has been so nonexistant that I thought it was discontinued. You never saw anyone run down the row and grab something as fast as I did with those 2 items,,lol. Walmart didn't have one bag of dry Friskies either..not little ones and not big ones..this is getting beyond ridiculous.

Its sunny and 60 degrees out, perfect,,blue skies, white fluffy clouds, just a smidgeon of a breeze. I am going out to clean the inside of the car out while it's still nice out there, calling for clouds to move in later. I have all groceries scanned and put away, dinner decided on (burgers on brioche buns and Nathans fries and a salad

Have a nice afternoon everyone

Does anyone have any experience with transferring them? They are starting to lose their quality, so I really shouldn't just pack them away.
I don't, no BUT I often see or hear ads from Companies that specializes in transferring them for you.
I bet that pup is adorable! My DD always wanted a Bull Terrier but ended up rescuing a wonderful Pitt Bull
Thanks, so far so good. She's a tri-color. Our first bull terrier. Husband really wanted a mini bull terrier but they were impossible to getahold of. However this young lady is so petite it's as if got one, she's about 33 lbs. That's small for us! We rescued a pitt once, he was 4 months old and found living in a abandoned factory in Newark, NJ w/ his puppy brothers & sisters. He loved to swim, and dive. He was the dog we lost 2 months ago.
I have all groceries scanned and put away, scanned
I've got to ask - what do you mean by scanned? Do you have some sort of computer inventory system you keep?
Nathans fries
Oi Vey with the Nathan's Fries :jumping1: last time you had them I had to dig some out of the freezer they sounded so good! Alas, none in my freezer this week-

I'm about done with the dissection of the the SOTU. Those who watched it don't need a bit-by-bit run down all day long, no matter what side of the aisle you align with. It's as if the American people aren't expected to be intelligent enough to take from it what they will and/or have their own opinion.

In other news, I think we are going mattress shopping this weekend. There is a sleep number place near us and I'd like to go check it out before pulling the trigger. I'm a bit stumped by split sheets - just the partial split sheets, not two twins - but have done some digging around and found a few sources to purchase them from, so that is one less thing to worry about. It won't work with my current mattress frame/furniture , but I can at least transfer that to the upstairs bedroom that has nothing in it at the moment.

Dinner this evening will be a simple baked fish w/ peppers & onions over risotto w/ naan.

Good almost afternoon AuntieMe3 and afternoon to the rest of you :)

Dad did get butter at Target for $5.39 which is a ton better than $8.99 that's for sure! He said prices on other things are still going up :(

Thanks for sharing, PollyannaMom! :)

I would also like to know what you mean by scanned, Lynn. I do like Easyas' idea of an automatic inventory system by scanning. That would be handy indeed :) I am so glad, my friend, the weather is sunny for you today and that you were able to get some needed items, too.

I hope you find a comfortable new mattress, Easyas. I hope both you and Lynn enjoy your fries tonight.

I am a member of Nielson Consumer Panel online. You record your shopping purchases (online or physical stores),with your phone after you buy something. There is a list of stores to choose from, and then categories of them . You just aim your phone camera at the UPC code on the item and when you are done,,it transmits the data to them. You earn points for gifts or gift cards that way. I earned our 45" Samsung smart tv for free a few years ago, and have earned many Amazon gift cards. It used to be a lot more complicated until they updated their system and you do it with your phone. You used to have to log each item in,,and then transmit from a desktop once a week. This is much simpler!

I did not get to see the condo today. The agent got an appt for 1:30 today on the app yesterday. Today the seller's agency said no appts before 5. I can't stay around there until 5. My friend who was coming with me actually got to the condo before I heard the appt was canceled. She thought it looked nice on the outside. On the plus side she and I had lunch together and chatted alot so my trip was not wasted. My agent is trying to get me an appt for tomorrow but he said it is very difficult. Right now it is the only condo for sale in that town and he believes it will be a bidding war. If it is meant to be then fine but if not, on to the next one. I am not going to pay tens of thousands over asking for a small condo in a town that is OK but not my first choice.

I did not watch the SOTU speech last night. I am finding politics and the state of the union and the world are very depressing right now and I am depressed enough all on my own. Chris used to ground me and since I don't have that any more I just have to avoid things like this.

The weather here is nice, sunny and warmer. It was nice to take a walk without a hat or gloves.

Have a good evening.

Good afternoon.

So far today, multiple texts with DD starting to plan a WDW trip for the end of August. Booked this VRBO for the 4 of them, me and DH, and DSIL's parents. Now the real planning begins. Luckily, DD is a real planner.

Then went to PO to mail headphones to sis-in-law who left them at my house, to DD's office to return a phone charger she left in my car, and to buy gas. After lunch, went to Ash Wednesday service. Also changed our bed and the guest bed. Now just waiting for The Amazing Race finale.

It's a Residence Inn by Marriott.
Looks nice. DS stays at a lot of Marriott family hotels when he travels for work and now has us doing that too.

I'm reminded that as a Quacker family we have come to post some extra gratitude during this more reflective time.
Good idea, like when the thread started with daily gratitudes. I am grateful that DDIL had a good doctor's visit today. Healthy mom and healthy baby, even if he is breech. There is still time to turn.

Better think about dinner.

Ahhhhhh, ok. Thanks for clearing that up! Sounds like a good gig!
Now the real planning begins.
The fun part! It’s always so nice to have something on the near horizon to look forward to.

On the plus side she and I had lunch together and chatted alot so my trip was not wasted.

that stinks your condo visit got waylaid, but sounds like a nice excuse for a long chart & lunch-
Got home and got our daily walk in. Getting ready to get dinner started. It should only take about 20 minutes.

Go you, Lynn! That is wonderful how you have been able to save money with the scanner!

Hug, Snowysmom and visit with your friend I pray brought you much cheer and fun. I didn't watch the SOTU either, just too much negativity the news these days it seems extra. As an elderly friend shared with me this afternoon over the phone, in terms of how much she enjoyed the Ash Wednesday service at the assisted living facility she is in, that experience and similar other ones, help her keep focus on what is real. I thought that was well said indeed.

Aw, so cute, PollyannaMom, we did need him indeed!

Thank you for sharing, Carol. I hope you enjoyed the service. Have fun planning! So happy you have a fun trip to look forward to.

Glad you got to take a walk, Easyas.

Still nice and warm here. I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Good Thursday morning .

Yesterday it was 68 degrees and sunny, and today it will be in the low 40's. Seriously! :cold:

Watched the finale of the Amazing Race last night. I was happy with the winners although I was good with any of the last 3 teams winning. They all deserved the win. I'm also glad that it was a couples challenge that put both teams behind instead of one person being responsible for their team losing.

Didn't go for a walk yesterday after work. Seems Ds3 went and got a puppy :dog:. He's keeping it at his girlfriend's house but needed to call me to get her scheduled for a vet visit. The vet said that they weren't taking new patients so since we were already established, I had to put her under my name. Anyway, he had her at the house when I got home from work and of course I had to go out and see her. I tried to act like I was mad at him for buying a dog from a pet store but when he went in the house to get a shower, I was lovin all over her . She's a yellow Lab, about 4 mo. old and her name is Caramel or Cara. Ds3's girlfriend works at a dog daycare & grooming place so she'll go to daycare for free when she gets all her shots.

That's about it for me. Have a great day! :flower1:

Good morning...@footballmouse--same weather as yours yesterday, and today. This weekend going into 70's. Gotta love Mother Nature. Congrats on the new furbaby,,sounds like she will be as much yours as theirs, lol!

I just spent an hour searching online for Friskies dry food. Since there was none at the store yesterday, I didn't even think to check Walmart.com first. Checked Chewy, nothing--checked Tractor Supply, nothing-checked Pet Smart,nothing-checked Amazon..to $$$..finally dawned on me to check Walmart online. 4 available for pick up today. Snagged 2 30 lb bags for pick up. Will drive up today and have someone bring them out. That should hold the cats for awhile, lol

Haven't watched Amazing Race yet..but hoping one of my 2 favorite couples won~

Have a nice morning everyone

Haven't been keeping up although I have been scanning some. Hope all are doing well!

Took my van to the shop yesterday to get it ready for son in law to use this weekend. Oil change and well patient checkup. He said it's in 'new' condition, which I already know but want to keep it that way. And I'm the 'every little squeak makes me nervous' type.

That meant two visits to the shop, to drop off and pick up with me needing a ride twice or sit in the shop doing nothing all day. I go to a well established single mechanic shop where I trust the owner and he charges a very reasonable rate for my out of warranty vehicles. Warranty vehicles go to the dealer and DD's car goes to AAA garage, as mostly it just gets oil changes.

Then drive to sil's house to drop off van and get picked up by DD to return home. Over 150 miles on me yesterday. I'm tired.

Next weekend we go back to Hilton Head. Looks like the weather will be decent. Will probably drive my hybrid since gas has gone up but we will see. The van is so much nicer to travel in as far as space goes and I can take everything, including bikes. I'll decide next week, I guess.

DD works from home today so I have someone else in the house. She mostly stays in her office, except for lunch or if I ask her to lift something. I think I'll leave her be today.

I got a Target circle offer - spend 45 3 times get 15. Not interested in spending that much since I don't need anything. It's not even 12% so they can keep it. I'm spoiled from the days my son worked a part time job there and got his discount plus all kinds of offers and could get Disney gift cards with nice discounts.

Have a nice day all!

Good morning everyone. What's everyone up to today? Not much here, I'm on the road this afternoon, but should be home by 5 or 5:30. I think dinner this evening will be sautéed chicken breast w/ roasted cherry tomatoes and either spinach or we'll have it with a salad. I've got a watermelon I need to cut up as well.

Took my van to the shop yesterday

I had to pick up a car from the shop myself this morning. Needed to get a car inspected to register it in Maryland (we had it tagged in FL), now I've got to get all the paperwork together and get it tagged. I think I'm going to use a tag & title service vs. waiting in line at the MVA in Easton or up in Elkton - my two choices.

We don't really have any streaming services - I mean I have Prime, but more for shipping than content, and we got Paramount last year to watch Picard and then got rid of it, but yesterday I signed up for HBO Max to watch this new pirate show that looks amusing - Our Flag Means Death. I'll get Paramount or whatever it is again to watch Picard as well, but I don't know when. We don't have enough time to watch the stuff we have saved on the DVR we wanted to watch, so I'm going to have to really carve out some time for these shows!

We don't have much going on this weekend. Seriously thinking of going mattress shopping, neither of us have slept well in a while and we've tried a few things but I think we need to next try a new mattress. Anyway, not much else on tap for the weekend for us. I'm sure some chore will pop up though -

Have a good morning everyone -

Quiet morning here, too. Enjoy your new furry family member, Footballmouse :dog:I've always liked labs and goldens. PollyannaMom, thank you for the smile of the thought of trying to teach cats and other critters to tell time.

I've been enjoying some good books📚 I just read one that featured a small town at Christmas. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie.

Have a great Thursday, all.
