I am such a sap. I just finished Amazing Race finale, and I was in tears by the end. I am so happy that my favorite team won (@Breezy_Carol,,thanks for not saying who won), and just as happy at the other 2 teams. The end 'speeches' were what got me, and I don't ever remember crying at the end of an Amazing Race season.

Dinner is chicken wings cooked in the air fryer, (for me) ramen (without the salty seasoning pkgs) for both of us, and asparagus. Mr L is making what he calls mushroom scampi with portabello and oyster mushrooms (YUCK, lol), and adding garlic, onion, and I don't know what else. As long as I don't have to cook it or eat it,,he can make it how he wants

We got to a high of 40,,tonite is going down to 20 again--brrr

Have a nice evening everyone

Well I totally bailed on chicken for dinner - I just don't care enough to cook a full super this evening. So I grabbed a rather large hoagie for my husband for supper. Chicken still needed to be cooked, so popped it in to stew down for a while and I'll make some chicken salad for lunch tomorrow and eat the rest for dinner tomorrow. I have some left over chili - at least I think I do - maybe I'll just zap that for dinner.
I had a fire built and a glass of wine waiting for me when I got home, and between you & me I may just put my pajamas on before 7 PM! Crazy times over here!

Good evening.

We got up this morning and, after breakfast, drove down the eastern shore then across the bay bridge to DS's house. We took them a small bookcase from here that they liked for the nursery. DD's days off are Thursday and Friday and DDIL decided to work less days as she is starting to feel the pregnancy. And because she is so tiny, it is getting harder for her to drive the distance to work. They were both home so we got Mod Pizza for lunch, DH and I like Mod Pizza and the one near us closed so it was a treat. Came home up 95 through Baltimore and stopped at the pool table store to look at a lamp for over the table.

I just don't care enough to cook a full super this evening
I felt that was too. After a bigger lunch, even though I had defrosted turkey burgers, I just defrosted soup for dinner. We'll have turkey burgers, broccoli, and sweet potato tomorrow.

Watched the finale of the Amazing Race last night. I was happy with the winners although I was good with any of the last 3 teams winning. They all deserved the win. I'm also glad that it was a couples challenge that put both teams behind instead of one person being responsible for their team losing.
I agree with all of this.

I just finished Amazing Race finale, and I was in tears by the end. I am so happy that my favorite team won
Ditto!

or up in Elkton
Don't you have to make a reservation at the MVA now? If you come to Elkton, I'll come keep you company and we can go to CFA right next door for lunch.

Gratitude for today:
(Thanks for the reminder.) Grateful for a road trip on a beautiful day to see DS and DDIL.

i was in my comfy pj’s early tonight, too. I worked the beginning of the week so I am now off for the weekend. Good work week with some nice patients. I was craving my favorite stir fry take out (Chinese) so I got that tonight with a hot and sour soup and I enjoyed it immensely. Dozed off on the sofa for a while during Jeopardy, lol.

Congratulations on the puppy @footballmouse. Hope things are going well with your new little guy, too, @easyas. We need pics at some point from both of you! 👆🏻

Carole sounds like you have some fun things coming up, a trip and a new grandchild. Life is good!

@Snowysmom I am hoping to someday read here that you found a condo that you really LOVE!

Following along with everyone and keeping you all in my prayers.

My gratitude for this week is the peace that we all get to enjoy here, and for all that we take for granted. My heart has been 💔 for all the tough things we have going on in our world, and in our country. I appreciate that my little part of it is stable, but, as we all know, ‘there but by the grace of God go I‘. Praying a lot, for everyone and everything!

I’m happy and grateful, too, that DS is doing a lot better this month, he’s loving the class he’s taking and doing really well with all his testing. He got some good news on the job prospect front so 🤞🏻. I think his heart is healing. ❤‍🩹

For the weekend we plan to get some straightening out around the house, inside, and outside if it’s nice weather. I am ordering a new set for my screen porch so I’m anxious to get that ready to go (ie get the snowblower out of there) as well as either take back my rug for there that DH stole for his workshop 😬 or get a new one (will have to see how it looks).

Talk soon! 🐥

@Pea-n-Me Glad you get some time to chill out.

Everyone's supper or future supper sound good. I can't wait to start cooking my favorites again in a new place.

My heart goes out to everyone ins Ukraine. I wish the world would help more but it it is hard to balance what would help with what would cause more harm for the world.

The appt my agent got for looking at the condo yesterday also got canceled. Whoever is managing the sale for that condo I wanted to look at is not a professional. I am moving on now.

11 degrees now heading up to 32. At least it will be sunny.

Have a nice Friday.

Good morning all. A chilly 18 degrees out, going to 48 or so.
@Snowysmom--I agree,,it sounds like that condo manager is not very reliable or responsible. Sounds like if you did buy it, and move in, and had problems, that it would be difficult to deal with them. When you find the right one, you'll know it is the right one. Might take some time, but in the end it will be well worth it. Good luck in the search!

Its dusting and vacuuming day here. The cats are losing their 'winter coats', so there is cat hair flying everywhere again. No other plans for the day.

Stepdaughter had the MRI on her shoulder, and is meeting the orthopedic surgeon today to see what can be done. She has osteoarthritis in it (according to the X Ray), and an 8 mm lesion or tear in her rotator cuff. I hope it's something they can fix and she doesn't have a long recovery. She does everything for her family, and her 4 kids aren't much help. Her husband is back on the road in GA with the railroad, so she can't depend on him to do anything either.:(

Have a great day everyone~~

Good Morning! Yesterday we had an appt. with the lawyer to work on the trusts for our niece and nephew. Wish it wasn't so complicated. But, it's been a year and this needs to get settled. We are having a lot of trouble getting the professionals to feel any urgency,

This morning I am finishing up packing for our road trip to DD's house for our GD's birthday. I wish I was better at packing, I always take at least double what is actually needed :scared:

Gratitude-- Thankful to live in a safe and peaceful place, feel so for the people in harms way.

Happy Friday! :sunny:

I'm actually looking forward to this weekend because I have a weekend off! This doesn't happen too often for me, some how my schedule just worked out. My kids and I were planning to do a pancake breakfast at one of the county parks on Sunday but Ds1 got the dates mixed up and already had a meeting for a landscape job scheduled that day so we pushed it to next weekend.

Going to be in the upper 60's today and tomorrow so I'm getting the house cleaning and laundry done this morning so when I get off work today I can go outside and get some things done. I'll work in the yard tomorrow too, time to get things cleaned up. :daisy:

I think I'm going to make a bake speghetti tonight. I know there will be extra so I'll run some up to my aunt.

Our local creamy whip opens today. I definitely don't need to be eating ice cream but it's hard to pass up a good creamy whip ice cream! :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a good day and a great weekend!

Good Morning from cooler LA,

It's not yet cold thankfully just cooler than it has been. Still, always, each day is a blessed gift indeed :)

Hooray for weekends off, new puppies to come, and time for R&R.

So glad you had a nice day, Carol with your family. I hope you and Easyas get to meet! Let us know if you do :)

:grouphug:Pea and please know, always we care and are here. Enjoy please cozy Pj's and down time too!

Snowysmom, it indeed sounds like that condo is not one you want to get entangled in at all! Take it from me someone living in an older building that is not maintained well. You don't want to get mixed up with an irresponsible/not professional owner. The right place indeed is out there, my friend. Please stay warm and have a good weekend!

Prayers for your stepdaughter, Lynn. Glad to hear you have an at home day!

:hug:DazexX3, enjoy your GD's birthday celebration and Happy Birthday to her :)

Yay that you have the weekend off, Footballmouse! Enjoy and have a treat, too.

Thank you all for sharing your gratitude. Taking a moment to give thanks for smaller moments truly is a blessing and one that brings me closer to God and I hope does the same for each of you along with added peace.

Happy Friday, friends.

Don't you have to make a reservation at the MVA now? If you come to Elkton, I'll come keep you company and we can go to CFA right next door for lunch.
hmm? That's a good question. I think you are correct. Another reason to use the title & tag company haha!! Sounds fun - I'll let you know if I head up to Elkton or not! I've got other things going on BOTH at Christiana hospital and at the hospital in Easton next week so I'll be in both places no matter what.
For the weekend we plan to get some straightening out around the house, inside, and outside if it’s nice weather
I should do that as well. Not sure if I will, but I should.
I think I'm going to make a bake speghetti tonight.
Had to look up baked spaghetti, that looks interesting. I've got the makings for stuffed shells and I think that is making the weekend short list.

Good afternoon everyone. Day is going by swimmingly, although I do have one project held up do the some paperwork I'm waiting for that is beyond my control. Oh well -

Off to Walgreens to pick up a RX and scrounge around town for a quick lunch.

Good afternoon.

Kind of a do nothing day. Have laundry going but not much else.

Had to email the real estate agent, then call the title company. There is some confusion if settlement is Monday 3/7 or Friday 3/11. Looking like it won't be Monday. Also spoke to our financial guy about how to handle when we do, hopefully, get a check.

although I do have one project held up do the some paperwork I'm waiting for that is beyond my control.
I hate that, when your work is held up by something over which you have no control.

Quiet here as well - bits of housework that seem to keep multiplying (but nothing that can't be chipped away at a little at a time) and a mysterious spreadsheet problem solved.

My dishwasher seems to be on the fritz. It sounded like it was running last night, and the soap dispenser opened, but the soap didn't all dissolve (just kind of scattered on the bottom) and the dishes didn't get clean. I've been washing them in batches and stacking them in the drainer, because I'm too lazy to dry them. (My mom used to say that was "the one piece of housework that would do itself."):rotfl2:

Happy Friday. We had a rainy night last which we enjoyed watching out all the windows in our room. LoL Today the SF bay area is under a gale warning so it's a little breezy and cold. We'll be here through the weekend, DH was supposed to work tomorrow but now says he doesn't have to so we'll figure out something to do, probably just take a drive.

From our bird talk not to long ago, thought some of you might enjoy this. In our local mountains, there is a bald eagle "couple" Jackie and Shadow, who have a nest cam.
For the past couple years, every time they had eggs, they never got babies. One year some ravens stole the eggs, another time they just never hatched. So this year, there are two eggs, and one little hatched yesterday. :lovestruc

I had some quotes I was going to reply to but it won't let me...that cookie thing is really annoying. I don't want to lose what I've already typed up so I'll try to be back later to do my quotes...

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day...

Quiet turning gray and cool afternoon here. Grateful dad got safely home from laundry and errands this morning without getting wet. It's not supposed to rain, it just looks like it could.

Frustrating indeed Easyas to be waiting on a project. I hope you did enjoy your lunch and indeed will get to meet Carol. Our first Quacker meet up 🐥

I hope your check comes through in a timely manner, Carol.

PollyannaMom, I wish housework would magically do itself or at the push of a button--Jetson style!

Stay safe, AuntieMe3 on your travel and thank you for the video!

Have a good rest of the afternoon, friends.

Thanks for the prayers for stepdaughter (Summer)-@flyingdumbo127--she will need them . They scheduled surgery for March 30. She has a cyst in the bone in her rotator cuff, a torn tendon and possibly he will have to repair the bicep. He spelled it out to her without sugar coating it. With the cyst in her bone, the bone is almost hollow. Which means a bone graft so there is something to put the screws in to repair the tendon. He said if she were older, that he would just do a shoulder replacement (which he said she will most likely need in the future) but he said she's only 39 and he won't even consider it. (that makes no sense to me..if she is going to need one down the road, why not do it now, which is a much simpler thing to do, he said..Her arm will be in a sling thing for the 6 weeks and she won't be able to move her arm up at all. After 2 weeks, she can lower it, but she can't raise it at all..that will be the hardest part for her. Means no driving, no house cleaning, no moving furniture etc. She said she's scared, but she can't take the pain anymore and this has to be done.

We are at 53 degrees with full sun. I just did 5 laps around the yard and the garden for my exercise, Mr L is asleep. Going to sit and watch a show and then fix dinner

Have a nice evening everyone

Joint replacements don't last forever. If she has one now, it will probably need to be replaced again, which is more difficult.
I was going to say the same thing! Many of these surgeries have a “shelf life”, so a re-op might be needed again in the future. If done when older, hopefully it would last for the rest of lifetime. Good luck to her, sounds like a very big surgery! 🙏🏻 (It might also not be a bad idea to get a second, and even third opinion to see if other surgeons see it differently.)
