Welcome Allison!

LONG day..delivered Cali to her new Moms, they were a lovely couple and I think she is going to be spoiled rotten and have a very wonderful life!
Spent my day shopping, Clothes, dog beds/toys. Costco, J.C. Penny, Target, Boscovs, Marshals/Home Goods & Kohls....ok a pit stop in the Disney Store but not much to be found in there. I'm exhausted.
Got take a way for dinner, had it and drinks outside.
Tomorrows agenda is house cleaning, laundry folding and other odds & ends.

Welcome Allison, thanks for joining us!! Feel free to talk whenever you can. Those are really nice pictures.

I know we need the rain, but just rain and get it over with. I need to get things done outside.

We did take-out Mexican for dinner, looking forward to sitting in a restaurant again, hopefully sooner than later. I got my second vaccine this week, I've waited this long, so I guess I can wait a bit longer.

Question of the day Will the wind ever end and will one cat of mine stop whinning to go out yet again after being out from 4:30 am till after 7 pm. Plus where is one of the cats.
Lazy day at home today. Which will be nice after yesterday which included going to the funeral for one of my granddad's distant cousins who passed away last Tuesday at age 97. Up to the end she lived a very active life and even drove quite a bit though she was more than happy to accept a ride to different places from family as well. Also yesterday both girls had bowling and we got their communication day registrations turned into the office plus got the credit card payment paid that I pay at the credit union. (the other two cards I pay via the phone and will do those Sunday night while DH is at work). Girls and I had dinner at Soup N Such where I enjoyed a bowl of loaded baked pototo soup and a glass of tea.

Good morning all. @sweetpeama--in answer to your question of the day..I have to change it to 'will the rain ever end'! It started raining again at 9 last nite, and is still coming down. Mother Nature apparently doesn't want anyone around here to be doing any yard work until the grass is so high we have to mow it 2x to get it back down to normal. That was my 'to do ' list for today, guess that's out, unless the sun pops out before noon and dries everything out enough to do it. Very mild out at 60,,we had bedroom windows open and ceiling fan on overnite. I have windows open now, going to be 72. Which might feel muggy with all the rain. It does sound like it's slowed down a little bit though~~

I have a headache and the rain explains it. Going to dry rub some baby back ribs for dinner, and come up with a couple of sides.
Worked on my puzzle for a little while yesterday, may do some more today.

@easyas123--so glad that Cali's found a loving new furever home. Thank you for what you did for her till you found them!

Have a nice morning everyone

Woke up to stormy weather a little while ago.

We rearranged the living room/dining (aka my computer) area yesterday. My back is so sore, from moving all the furniture! I dusted at the same time, so everything is clean and smells of almonds! I use this:
Almond Oil

from the front door:

From the sliding door by my bedroom

I'm going to get a new stand to put behind the tv, because we have strip lighting behind it, and the lights are giving me a headache when I'm at my desk. Easy enough fix, just have to find one that isn't opaque and isn't $$$$$. This is a much better use of space...we had it the other way before (with the living room where the computer is now) and it seemed so much smaller.

We lost the remote to the cable box while doing all the moving. We searched everywhere....pulled the couch cushions up and everything, right? Went and got the remote from the bedroom box, and paired it to the cable box, and removed the other (because whereever it was, it kept turning OFF the cable box when we turned it on...) About 4 hours later, DH is sitting on the couch, puts his hand on the side of his cushion to grab his phone (he always puts it there, when he's sitting there eating) and...Yep, the missing remote! We are both baffled, because we actually MOVED the cushions off the couch when we were looking earlier....and it wasn't there!

DD sent me a photo of something she picked up at their local mall yesterday. Thought y'all would like it.

I'm off to make coffee. We are moving my keyboard over in front of the gray drawers for now, and moving a big wire shelf into our room where the keyboard is currently, so DH can have some room in his home office to put out his bass guitars. Today is taco day, and if I'm feeling up for it, I'll make something sweet, either cupcakes or oatmeal cinnamon chip cookies.

B & B -
I need that soap dispenser! ::yes::

Bit of a cleaning/moving/thinning going on around here this AM as well - and it's raining. Possible T-storm this afternoon, which I'm all about. But for now, just a grey drizzle.

Bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches for breakfast, and then I'm back to my clothes thinning then bedroom cleaning chores. I need to run into the office around mid-day for a few minutes as well.

Good morning.

Missed 24 hours here.

Started the day after lunch heading to DH's sister's house. DD and her family came too. We wanted to visit with our nephew, his wife, and 2 year old son in from California. One of DSIL's local daughters came over with her 3 girls too so all the littles could meet each other. Nice to see everyone and I hope we were all safe. All but 2 adults were fully vaccinated. My 2 grands had negative tests the day before.

After that, DD and her family came back to our house. We got pizza (Sooooo good) and I had already cut up veggies and made a dip. Then an egg hunt in the yard. Gave the kids their minimal Easter gifts which everyone liked. Then they headed home for bedtime.

DH and I went to his office to bring home a shelf unit he decided he wanted for the garage. That was interesting. It just fit in the back of my CRV and I had to drive with the seat way far forward. Luckily a short trip in back roads.
@Allison Joy, :welcome: Always nice to welcome new people. Please come back and share the good, the bad, the mundane, and the celebrations.

"carrot patch" brownies.
Very cute. What did you use for the decorations?

delivered Cali to her new Moms, they were a lovely couple and I think she is going to be spoiled rotten and have a very wonderful life!
Good for Cali and good for you for fostering her. for having to give her up.

We lost the remote to the cable box while doing all the moving.
We lost the remote to our Firestick. It hasn't turned up in months. Probably for thrown out with newspapers because it is so small. Luckily we could download an app to our phones which is actually much easier to use.

Possible T-storm this afternoon,
I was just saying how I would enjoy a good thunderstorm.

Our pastor is on National Pastors take the Sunday off after Easter vacation. Church was laity. I will watch later. No other real plans and weather is not favorable for outside activities.

Would someone here please tell Mother Nature to make up her mind? It stopped raining at 6 am,,then got so foggy you couldn't see across the street. About an hour ago , the sun came out and the sky was blue. I got excited thinking maybe it would dry out and I could mow later. Now it's back to a gloomy looking gray sky and looks like it's going to rain again. But they said only 15% chance. Temp is already 68. I put the screen window in the back door, put the screen door on the front door. Put my trellis's in my Morning Glory planters on the side of the house. Seeds are already coming up that I planted last week. Made dry rub and rubbed it into baby back ribs, and washed potatoes to bake along with it. Think I am going to weedwack around the high spots and see what the weather is going to do later

Good Morning All,

Enjoyed all the new posts this morning and pictures, too! Thanks everyone for sharing :)

Will watch church later also and am expecting an Amazon package.

Weather is morning overcast which should turn a little sunny later. Cooler though this week ahead. As always so grateful for the day and health in it :)

Hugs to all.

Gratitude- seeing my aunts yesterday, my mom has 4 sisters and 2 brothers. We had a socially distanced baby shower for my youngest cousin. She was born when I was senior in high school. I remember Babysitting for her during my college spring breaks and now she is having a little one, she’s 24 years old already. So many new fun baby gear since my kids were little. My favorite: a portable high chair, that looks like a fold up chair that comes in a bag , you put over your shoulder and take to outdoor sporting events. It folds us so nice, and lots of room for little one to sit and eat next to the grown up table . I was very lucky growing up to have 3 out or the 4 aunts living nearby to teach me swim lessons ( Aunt Mary). To play cards ( Aunt Theresa) and let me help setup her classroom each year ( Aunt Beth).

What lovely memories, Sparkle! I'm so glad you had three nearby Aunts to spend time with as a kid :)

Sunday Extra Gratitude so far

What a nice surprise, Carol, to hear a rendition of Mighty To Save from your church's online service this morning. That is one one of very favorite songs of praise for the lines "Shine your light on, let the whole world see, we're singing for the Glory of the Risen King Jesus." I will always have good memory of singing that with choir one Easter morning.

Putting together a donation for tomorrow of some last clothing items that are now huge on me. So thankful to be healthier all around and always to be able to pass on items to someone else. Double Blessing.

Phone call and texts with some friends over the last few days.

Very cute. What did you use for the decorations?
I got a boxed kit at WalMart, it came with the little carrot sprinkles. I bought two boxes one for us and one for our friends. When I made the first box, it was barely enough batter for a 8×8 baking dish so I made both together and used one set of sprinkles. Then I just did another brownie batch from scratch and used the other pack of sprinkles, it really did come out cute and they were yummy too.

Glad to hear you had such a nice family day.

@sparkle78 you too....so happy you got to spend time with your family.

We had a really good dinner and fun in the pool. It was 84° and the pool was heated so felt sooo nice. We were home and in bed by 9pm, we were soo tired...lol Our friends got DH a flat top grill for his birthday, it won't be delivered for 2 weeks but we're so excited for it. Its the same as our friends and that's what they made the tacos on yesterday. Dh is already planning what he wants to make on it.

I made us chilaquiles with a fried egg for breakfast and we had a lazy day planned for the rest of the day but when Dh called our friends to thank them for yesterday, they invited us to come over to swim again so we might do that. It doesn't feel as warm as it did yesterday though....lol but I guess if the pool's warm it will still be nice.

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

Cleared up nicely and dried out enough that I just finished mowing the grass. Now it looks nice and neat..and I think I finished just in time. Sky is getting black and it shows rain in the area. Go ahead now Mother Nature, I don't care. Probably have to mow it again by Thursday, but at least it won't be as tall. It was bad! Hubby was asleep in his chair when I went out, asleep in his chair when I came in an hour later to put the ribs and potatoes on to cook low and slow,,and still asleep when I came in an hour after that. His back is aching for some reason,,and he has appts at both clinics tomorrow, so he better rest it and get so he can walk tomorrow. Have a nice rest of the afternoon..I am off to shower, change clothes and relax

Well I finished that just in time. It's dumping down rain and thundering now :(

It is cool and windy here today. The temp is around 50 but feels like the forties. This week will be a bit cooler than last week. We got used to the 60s but April is a fickle month around here.

Younger DS invited us to meet him and the 3 grandkiddies at the playground. So we had 2 hours of chasing little ones around. Now I am tired. The little 2 year DGD is a little dare devil. She will climb anything and loves swings and slides. She wants to keep up with her older sister and brother. It was fun.

Supper is chicken enchilada soup I made in the crock pot. We will have leftovers for another meal which is great.

So glad you had a fun dinner, AuntieMe3. Your carrot patch cake really was adorable.

Hugs Lynn and prayers for your DH to feel better and that his appointments go well tomorrow! I also hope the weather will be clear when you are on the road.

:) Snowysmom, that sounds like fun. Children laughing and playing is such happy music indeed and scene to get to watch.

It's warmed up here which feels so much better! I got to talk with a friend which is always nice, as well.
