Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

We didn't get the heavy downpours, or the thunderstorms. We had some very light rain a little while ago. Now it looks like the sky is clearing and the sun is trying to come out? Silly weather! I am glad we did get some rain though..it worked all the stuff I put down in the garden yesterday into the soil .
Transplanted about 45 tomato plants into bigger pots, renewed my Norton for another year, and watched some tv..exciting day huh? lol
Have a great evening everyone..off to make our pizza's!

Jasper looks great! 🐶 I did an Ollie’s run this week, too! I got a lot of cleaners that were well priced, took the whole box, lol. Why pay $2.99 (or more in supermarkets) for one when you can get three for that price? We seem to go through a lot of it, often with six of us here. Their greeting cards are nice, too, for $.99 and wrapped in plastic. I try not to buy too much of the junk food (though it‘s tempting), but I did pick up one large pack of Cocoa Puffs treat bars for lunches. Not bad for a mid-day chocolate fix, lol.

I’ve also mentioned here before that I think the clothing at Kohl’s has gone downhill. Sad because I used to like some of their things. WalMart I love their nightwear (pj’s and such) I’ve found the quality to be pretty good, and that nice stretch knit, same with some of the capris, I haven’t had bad luck. My family gets me gift cards to Macy’s. I love some of their dress pants and stocked up when they had a sale last fall. I often shop for things online, too, I like Coldwater Creek and a few others, like Lands’ End and LLBean. Once I know their fit it’s easy for me to shop that way. Don’t love trying on tons of clothes in dressing rooms, ugh.

It’s a work weekend for me. Hope everyone has a nice one and you all get some good weather! 🐣

Good shopping, Pea! Glad you got yourself a treat, too :) Kohl's, I so look forward to being able to go to either by the end of this year or early last year. The only other department store we have is JC Penney and they may not survive the pandemic :( I do think often Penney's offers more choices. With Kohl's, I only liked (keep in mind I have not been to Kohl's over a year) their Sonoma brand for clothes. Croft and Barrow, particularly on shirts, are often heavy and not soft. Kohl's prices are often through the roof as well. Post plague, I will be waiting until they offer Kohl's cash plus a coupon! ETA: We do have Macy's but for me they are too costly.

I am a big Secret Treasure (Walmart brand) fan of their PJ's and also packaged briefs. I had been loyal to Hanes forever. The quality kept going downhill (no longer soft) and talk about poor fit, even panties with the same package of underwear were not consistent! Plus they shriveled right up and would unravel quickly. Secret Treasure is a win all-around. I just wish they weren't out of stock online, lol. Oh well :)

Spent about 6 hours today working on my sister's affairs. This is really making me look at my own affairs and how to make it easier for my kids. Her case is definitely more complicated because of her disabled children.

Scalloped potatoes and ham for dinner tonight, yummy but so rich.

It has been raining off and on for the last 3 days, it is amazing how fast things are growing and how fast I am getting behind on my work.

Have a great evening everyone

good evening all -
pizza ended up being a small mushroom & pepperoni for husband, southwest chicken wrap - no beans but they put beans on anyway so I tried to ignore them- which was good.
Cali has had her bath and her dog bed is tumbling in the dryer.

I haven't tried Coldwater Creek, but I've gotten some decent pieces at Chicos & Talbots. I love Talbots!

Good morning all..@kirby, I agree with dazedx3 the flowers on the right look just like the salvia in my rose garden

It dumped down more rain right after the sun came out, along with pea sized hail. I could hear this weird sound when I went in to fix the pizza. I first thought it was the heat kicking on, but realized it was too warm in here for that--looked out the kitchen window and saw a ton of hail falling. Sister in law in WV not far away said they had one heck of a thunderstorm. Everything is soaking wet outside,,I hope it dries out by this afternoon so I can mow. I will have to raise the wheels or else end up with cut grass laying on top of mowed grass, and I hate that. I will just raise the wheels and then have to mow in 3-4 days instead of 5-6.

No other plans for the day..all I can say is retirement is boring when hubby can't really do much because of his health :(

He did talk to 2 people he used to work with yesterday on the phone..all we can say is that he got out of there just in time. The executive director just gave his notice, the HR girl gave her notice, one of the finance people gave their notice, and a lot of other workers have either just quit or been laid off :(

Have a nice Saturday morning all

Good morning.

Dreary and grey here. I hope it clears up some for our outside visits today.

Lynn, glad DH got out when he did.

Just heard yesterday that by daughter-in-law's grandmother died. So they have another funeral to attend as they were at my son's uncle's last week.:sad1:

Off to put some candy in plastic eggs.

Sure doesn't look like it's going to clear up anytime soon here. Sky is gray, everything is soaking wet. @Breezy_Carol--hope it clears out up your way for your visitors. Sorry to hear about another death in the extended family. So sad :(

Laundry is done, dishes are done, bed has been stripped and remade. Watered all the tomato plants downstairs,,going to clean both bathrooms and then decide what to tackle next.

Next to last post on page 1..not allowed! at 3:30 in the afternoon, the sun popped out, but not early enough to dry anything out. Calling for more rain this evening, and maybe tomorrow morning,,so I got nothing done outside today. I did a beauty treatment, worked on my puzzle, defrosted some chicken wings for dinner tonite, and watched a couple of shows. Temp is currently 69.
Have a nice rest of the afternoon !

Thank you, Lynn. I was just going to give our thread a bump myself :) It's warmer here than it was earlier which is nice. I'm still fuzzy PJ-ed and slippered :) I have an (unofficial) church update which is a search for an interim minister in the works. Sadly and IMO, wrongly none of this has been congregationally shared yet. Thank you all for your prayers for my church and my future at it!

Hello! I'm Allison. I see this thread all the time, but have never posted in it. I see "weather" seems to be a current/common topic, so I thought I'd show off these pics of the absolutely brilliant, bright rainbow we had the other night. Pictures definitely don't do it justice. And maybe now I'll post more often since I've broken the ice and introduced myself and made my first post. :)
