We have decided to cancel the Alaska Cruise til next year.
This caught my eye. If your cruise was this summer, I doubt it will happen. Have you been before? We went in August 2019 and I am so glad we went then before the pandemic. We had a southern Caribbean cruise scheduled in October 2019 for one of the last cruises of Grandeur of the Seas out of Baltimore in February 2021. Of course that was cancelled so we moved it to March 2022. Still not sure I will want to go then.

@sweetpeama, I can't get my BP down. Doctor keeps upping my meds but the systolic will not go below 130 where it belongs. And I have a normal BMI so weight is not an issue. Have you tried the disposable KN95 masks? Then tend to sit farther from my face and much easier to breath for me.

Okay,,Mother Nature can knock it off now. We have had sun, wind, snow, sleet, and hail. It was dropping little balls of ice while the sun was shining. Our high temp got to 37. The poor outside cats are so confused. It was so nice out 2 days ago,,then rain all day yesterday and today winter is back. I just fed them and gave them big bowls of warm water so their tummies are full. I am off to soak in a hot tub while hubby takes a nap. Dinner is going to be lamb patties, we have leftover rice and leftover mac and cheese, and I will add another veggie or a salad.

Well, I have recovered from my first vax shot (Pfeizer). Honestly, all I had was a mild headache, tiredness, and joint pain, but that's normal for me, lol. I was able to schedule DS17 for next Tuesday, at the same location, since they are opening to 16+ on Monday. He hates needles, but he'll do it without complaining.

Had crab cakes for lunch today. I didn't make 'em, bought them from Fresh Market, but I do spray them with some Pam and toss them in the air fryer oven, along with some breaded 'fried' broccoli today. Takes about 20 minutes, since they are frozen (I bought a bunch last time I did shopping, and froze them), but they are really good.

It's nice out here, a good bit of breeze, and temps around 65. I'm going to go for a walk today, I think.
Tomorrow I have to stop at the post office to pick up packages, and I think I might get Panda Express for lunch, since it's right up the road from the p.o. I have to go to. No plans other than that, for the next few days.

I got my first shot this morning. :cheer2: I slept terrible last night so I'm thinking I might go take a nap. Between being a little anxious for the shot(I hate getting shots/bloodwork, etc...) and the dog...it was a long and sleepless night. Not sure what is up with the dog, he's on a steroid right now it might be starting to make him crazy...who knows but he's driving me nuts. He can't sit still and just being over all weird. Last night, he insisted one of his toys was under the couch even though they were all laying around him...2 balls, a flying disc, and a chewy bone. :sad2:

I had my echocardiogram yesterday...it was quicker than I expected, no big deal at all. The tech said they've had quite a few people who had Covid with new diagnosis of heart issues so they want to be proactive, especially if someone has symptoms. I was told to expect a call within a day or two if they see something concerning.

Yesterday was also DHs birthday. He wasn't supposed to be home from a work trip until today so last minute, I ran out and got him his favorites for dinner and dessert....sandwich from a sandwich shop and some chocolate peanut butter ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

I'm baking some goodies today for Easter. I'm going to give some to our friends for their get together. It's just going to be the 3 of us and my dad Sunday. I'm making a tri tip, scalloped potatoes, some roasted veggies and I got a super cute Easter egg cake from Costco. DD and I are coloring eggs today also so I'm sure I'll make some deviled eggs(and egg salad for later).

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their day...I'll probably be back later but I'm ready for a nap. :o

I don't think it will happen either but I am hoping they call it before I switch dates. Then I get an incentive to rebook. I will anyway. We have only been on one cruise ever and that was Disney to the Western Caribbean. We were scheduled for Alaska this past September and obviously that was a no go. I am a little bummed because I really was looking forward to it, we have never been there before and it would have been on our 40th anniversary. My husband just says it's a number, 41 is just as good a number.

Well it is now 4 hours past the time frame for the dishwasher to be looked at and Best Buy now says they can't find the driver. How do you LOSE a driver. I am really getting angry because my entire day has been sitting waiting for them. I had so many things to do this afternoon that now have to wait til tomorrow. I can't even go out to get dinner or make anything and I am HUNGRY!! Angry and hungry are not a good combination for me.

Today is a cold, dreary day. It was raining earlier but now it is just cloudy, windy, and around 45. Thankfully no snow though. April can be a fickle month.

It has been a busy week and I am getting more tired as the week goes on. Glad it is Friday tomorrow and we go out for dinner. I have to cook a quiche for Easter to bring to DSs. Plus I have to makeup 8 Easter baskets: 5 for the grandkids, 2 for the kids, and one for DH. No rest for the weary.

Happy day before Friday.

:grouphug:to all. So grateful your vaccines and other appointments went well, B&B and AuntieMe3. Keeping you both in extra prayer.

The weather is turning here. It's only 2:35 and overcast/darkish out, definitely not like the 88 and sunny of yesterday.

I just checked Holy week worship links again (thanks Carol). I look forward to watching Maundy Thursday later.

Did any of you see Welcome to Christmas? That's the movie on HM&M tonight at 8? I'm not sure whether I remember that one or not. Of course, we are into 4 months since last December!

DD is doing much better today. She can get out of bed without help so I get to sleep in my bed tonight. She went with me to Lil Joe and Lou Lou's preschool Easter egg hunt. Wore her out! The kids were so excited to get some candy filled eggs.

I did make it to the grocery store this morning. Saved $77 dollars on my groceries this time. Usually it's just $20 - $30.

Lil Joe had a t-ball game this evening. It's a hoot watching the little ones play.

Good night to all!

Good 'Good Friday' morning to all. It's a balmy 26 degrees, snowflakes are falling , and there is a light coating of snow on the ground and on the car. Only going to be 41 for a high. Thankfully the cold weather will be gone after today.

I plan on going to Lowes to get manure/compost and lime, and Walmart to get mulch today. (Walmart has no compost or manure, odd). I want to have it in the shed for when I need to put it down, and not have to run around looking for it later this month.

Hubby is back to not sleeping well at night (guess that means he's over whatever was making him sick last week), but now has been up since 4:15. Only 2 of the outside cats were around for breakfast, guess the others are sleeping in their warm boxes till it's light out.

We caught up on a lot of shows last nite, plan to catch up on more later this afternoon. And I still want to get back to my puzzle, which hasn't been touched in weeks.

Have a nice morning all, and a Blessed Good Friday, if you observe it~~

If this is someone's idea of an April Fool's Day joke..it's not funny. I just went out to get the mail..and it's snowing! :(

We had one of the worst snow storms here on April 1st...gosh, a little over 20 years ago. DH and I lived in an apartment in Quincy back then, and that's how we met our neighbors - shoveling each others' cars out because all the plow contracts had expired March 31st!

DH is going to talk with my dad this weekend and see about getting it into the shop and having my dad help him look at them. Good they can do the tail light that is out at the same time.

Way to look at the silver lining!

As for the low blood pressure, my DH has to avoid too much salt because his blood pressure runs high. So maybe try the opposite - eating more salty things?

I am a little bummed because I really was looking forward to it, we have never been there before and it would have been on our 40th anniversary. My husband just says it's a number, 41 is just as good a number.

I love that!! We had been "planning to plan" a trip to Nashville/Dollywood/the Great Smokey Mountains for our 50th birthdays last fall, but postponed it. I will enjoy picking a new number someday.

Did any of you see Welcome to Christmas? That's the movie on HM&M tonight at 8? I'm not sure whether I remember that one or not.

No, I didn't see that one. It was on the ratings list I was keeping for the Christmas movie thread we had going, but no column was checked - so I'm guessing I DVR'd it but never got to it. There were just too many to fit in before Christmas!

Sweetpeama, no advice, just a hug and prayer.

Thank You. I normally don't have a problem just found it interesting that there is some evidence

I actually use a thin one layer mask that is made by a group of tribal people in Equador with a face shield that holds it away from my face. I still manage to pass out especially if I am walking. Sitting I can usually do fine at least for a short while.

@PollyannaMom - My husband has always been like that. His favorite saying has always been "Age is a matter of mind. If you don't mind it don't matter." I think my wanting this trip has more to do with his health issues. It has always been his dream trip and with his vision not that great I want him to see it to have the memory. One more year will not matter that much but with all he has had to learn to live with since the strokes I wanted this for him.

Good morning everyone. It's a bit on the cold side today but we haven't had snow like some of you so that is a blessing.

I have so much to do today after waiting all day for someone to show up to figure out the dishwasher. First on my list is calling and then going to Best Buy. No one showed up at all yesterday. I spent an entire day waiting and someone just cancelled the visit. I am beyond angry at this point. That is a horrible way to run a business and customer service. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told they would pass on the message to call me but they don't have to respond??? With all the baking and cooking to do for Easter I was looking forward to not having to slave over dishes too.

Oh well life threw me a curveball again. I just want this resolved. Hope everyone has a Blessed Good Friday.

Good morning all...to echo Taz "it's a bit on the cold side today but no snow !"

I'm on the road all afternoon today, as it's one of my twice a month safety meetings at one of our big jobsites down near the DE shore. Plus it's safety bonus time, so for once I'll be popular! ha ha! I have a metric butt - ton of stuff to do this evening and tomorrow morning/afternoon prior to my in-laws coming over for dinner. The dinner part is easy, but I've just got normal this time of year chores to tend to that I'll have to stop to entertain them, And clean the house in between. Husband and I have a 48 our mantra it'sonlyonceayear it'sonlyonceayear it'sonlyonceayear... I'm going to FL in a little over a week for a few days so I'm just concentrating on that. Warm. Sunshine.

Well applications for Cali have been closed, and whittled down to 5 or 6 top candidates. I was asked to choose and my first choice looked great on paper. Another bulldog, kids aged 10 & 12 to play with. But ended up the woman was a total flake - what a time waster. So actually I had a tough time choosing between that family and another applicant, so hopefully the second applicant will NOT be a idiot, and that will be the best home for Cali.

I could go for a doughnut.

Good morning..

We actually had some blowing snowflakes this morning but not many.

DH and I are on a massive whirlwind house cleaning day. DS and DDIL will be coming Easter for dinner and spending the night. Need to go to the grocery store for a few more things.

Anyone roasted broccoli? I would like to try that.

@tazdev3225, I would be upset about the dishwasher as well. And if you ever want to talk Alaska, let me know.

I could go for a doughnut.
Go for it!

Finally got someone with a brain. The dishwasher is being replaced on Monday. He also said I need to go to the store and speak to a supervisor about all I went through. Wish I had it for the weekend but here's hoping it's finally fully resolved

Go for it!

Well, you know where I live! No easy drive thru for me...BUT I'm on the road this afternoon so I may just say the heck with it and go full Chick Fil A for lunch ::yes:: And maybe pick up some doughnuts for tomorrow morning!! ha ha

What a pain - glad they are getting it resolved for you!

Anyone roasted broccoli? I would like to try that.

Sure, all the time!

I shake it up in a baggie with a little olive oil, then add whatever salt-free mixed seasoning I have handy (usually garlic and herb) and shake a little more.

Line a cookie sheet with foil and spray with Pam. Dump the broccoli on and sprinkle with grated parm (the canister stuff, not the good kind with big pieces).

I usually do mine with fish that requires 425 for 22 min, but I’ve found that broccoli isn’t too fussy about messing around with that - just increase time as you decrease temp.

I also kind of stir it around half-way though.
