Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I can tell it's been below freezing for a while overnight because the bird bath is frozen solid. Poor squirrel jumped up for a drink and went ice skating instead.
:rotfl:

It looks warm outside here, but isn't! I think we're expected to stay in the 40s all day, but it's supposed to start climbing up tomorrow.

Sorry to hear the news from your church, Mona. 🙏

Thanks so much, Carol. Above all else, I truly respect the time he gave over 50+ years! I may not have always cared for some of the church choices made but that is well past. What was has been truly so sad and wrong to me, and IMO, not truly fair to the pastor either whether he realized it or not, was as far as I (or anyone I'm in regular touch with) knew there was no plan in place going forward. This continued even when earlier this year, our associate minister retired. I muchly keep future transparency and as I have said in the past true kinder connection for all in prayer for the future.

Thank you also, PollyannaMom. You keep warm, please!

We have full sun and its 54. I have been at it since 4:30 am I am DONE. Lawn is mowed and weedwacked, ham is baked, all laundry is done..and I am spent. My bad knee is a little sore, but I expected that , since I am out of practice at mowing the lawn..which I swear gets bigger every time..but at least all of my chores are done! Off to fix lunch, do a beauty treatment and do nothing but a few hours..lol..by then I hope I can still move!
@flyingdumbo127--so sorry to hear about your Pastor..that's sad news, especially at Easter time :(

Thanks for the well wishes everyone...it was a long day and an even longer night. Long story short, he was bleeding internally. We ended up having to take him to an emergency vet over an hour away and they kept him over night for fluids and observation. They called around midnight and said he may need a blood transfusion....but when DH called around 6am....they hadn't needed to do it yet so hopefully we're good there. I think DH was going to call again for an update here soon, unfortunately he had leave this morning out of town for work, he's so upset. I had mentioned before the steroids were making his act crazy....well he's been getting in the trash lately, which he usually never does, and eating everything so we think he may have ate something that caused the bleed or the vet said, it could have been an ulcer caused by the steroids. They don't know for sure.

We love our dogs so much but DH has a special connection with this guy so while he wants to do everything in his power to make him better, we have to be realistic and put a limit to what needs to happen. He was given some options by the vet and last night it didn't sound good. :sad1: I'm hoping their "no news is good news" is correct since we haven't heard anything since DH called at 6 and he's getting better because DH is going to be devastated if he doesn't make it, especially since he had to leave town for work. I'll keep you guys posted. :grouphug:

Also hoping things are ok with AuntieM3’s furbaby. You’re welcome, tazdev. Knowing about it, and how to help avoid it, are important with that breed. It happened to my neighbor’s GSD. Our dogs were “friends” - we even took out some fence slats so they could lay together in the yard. Anyway, he survived it initially, but it did a lot of damage to his body. I was sitting at home having coffee one Sunday morning several weeks later when I got a frantic phone call to come over. Running over in my bathrobe, I got there just in time to see him taking his last few breaths. I basically told my neighbor to hang up the phone and come lay with him and tell him how much she loved him, which she did. His was such a devastating loss to their family. As I said, our vet was a stinker about it. Fortunately, we never had an issue with it. (We had lots of other things, including two on wheels! But not that.)

Ah, I see Auntie has posted, so glad it wasn’t bloat. Bleeding ulcer, ugh. There are good medications today for that, and blood transfusions will help him feel better. My mother had bleeding ulcers when I was a kid (60’s/70s) and the treatment, believe it or not, was drinking cream! There were no acid blockers and such like there are today, which heal these things pretty quickly. Sometimes it helps to take them when taking a steroid, too. I’ve needed blood transfusions twice in my life and I was surprised how awful you feel when blood counts are low. Praying for the doggie and your family, Auntie! 🙏🏻❤️ Glad he’s getting good medical care.

@flyingdumbo127 Sorry to hear about your pastor.

Wishing everyone who celebrates a beautiful Easter weekend! :flower1:

Thanks for the ideas for my friend’s bag. I wound up going to the gift shop at work and got her a nice mug, a ladies prayer book, some lip gloss, hand sanitizer and jelly belly’s! I am going to bring that over today along with a meal for tomorrow (KFC! - we are not celebrating our Easter here until Monday since DD is working tomorrow). So this morning, I heard a knock on the door, and a beautiful Easter Lilly was delivered. Who was it from? The same friend! So nice of her!

:hug:AuntieMe3, it sounds like your dog is in good hands. I keep him in prayer!

Hugs, Pea, what hard doggie experience. I'm sure your presence meant a lot to your neighbor. Aww, love the Easter Lily story and thank you again for brightening up your friend's Easter, too!

Thank you all again for condolences on my church pastor.

Wishing all of you a good afternoon!

Yesterday was (always is on Good Friday) a day of mixed emotion. I also found out (not surprisingly at all because of his health) that the senior minister (the only current minister, well full time and English speaking that is) of my church passed away.
So sorry to hear of his passing. I pray that the church congregation will recover and can move forward.

So this morning, I heard a knock on the door, and a beautiful Easter Lilly was delivered. Who was it from? The same friend! So nice of her!

What a beautiful lily! Mine are starting to come up. Each year my mom got one and after the flowers died I would plant them in my flower beds. Some produce flowers, others don't but they bring back memories of my mom.

Today started out dreary but then the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day. I had planned to clean house but DH wanted to go to Covington's to buy some bushes to replace the Knock Out Roses that we had to take out due to the Rose Rosette disease. We bought a lot more than we had planned, just couldn't help ourselves, it's planting season! 😄 We came home for a quick lunch then off to Lowes for garden dirt, potting soil and some kind of special dirt DH wanted. I also slipped in some more plants. Then DH took a nap while I stripped the bed and took DD to CVS to return some hydrocodone to the pharmacy. They gave her 60 pills instead of the prescribed 30 and wanted the "extra" 30 back. Once I returned I thought that I might get to sit for a bit but DH was up and wanted to take out our Nandinas. They haven't looked good for a couple of years. Once we got them out and started looking our beds over we scrapped our original plan of where we wanted to put everything we bought and we are going with a new look.

Dinner tonight was tacos. Lou Lou has started unscrewing our drawer knobs in the kitchen. What will she think of next..........

Good morning all and Happy Easter! I knew I overdid it yesterday trying to knock things off my to do list, and I am paying for it today. I was so stiff and sore last nite, I couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep in. Both of my knees are aching. Planning on a quiet day today, nothing to do but fix dinner. Going to lay down for awhile, as I didn't get much sleep. Taking some tylenol and putting icy hot on both knees,,I really feel like an old lady today, lol!
Have a blessed Easter Sunday, enjoy the day!

:dogdance::banana::cheer2:The Disboards finally seem to be back! I sure hope. I missed all of you and our thread!

Prayers all of you had a Blessed Easter and are enjoying some Monday sunshine today :sunny:

I found myself missing this quite a bit today also.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I got to see LJ and 6 of my grandkids on Saturday so it was truly a great Easter.

Better they are working on the dishwasher as I type.

Hurray..we're back! I was having DIS withdrawal, lol. Glad that they were able to fix what the problem was. It was a beautiful 78 degree day here in Western MD..I did more yard work, got hoses out, got some lawn decorations out, planted my Morning Glory seeds, uncovered my rose bushes, canterbury bells, and magnolia bush and put their decorative fencing around. Took all the cats blankets from outside in the boxes and on the porch chairs and swing, and washed and dried them in the sun. Put them away till next Fall when it gets cold again. Hoping to get the garden tilled tomorrow..then will spread the lime, fertilizer, manure and compost. It's supposed to be rainy for April, so that will work all that stuff in. Then I will till it again in a couple of weeks. All of the tomato seedlings are up..2 in every pot..so I have almost 144 plants, lol. Going to thin them out in another week, transplant the ones I have promised to 3 different people..and the rest I will take care of.
Dinner was ham for hubby (his favorite meat), and I finished my leftover chicken from the other nite. Thankfully my knee is working again right today, although my arms are a little sore from weedwacking. Think I may buy a new gas powered one on Wednesday, and just use the cordless one when I don't have to do the whole yard. It's a little heavy for me
Hope everyone had a nice day!

I just saw a thread on here, claiming that the site was hacked, and they were demanding a ransom paid by bitcoin???--this is what was said--
I saw the initial thing, which was a demand to be paid in Bitcoin. I could actually see all my messages and notifications, but there was only one visible board that was obviously. The management is claiming that there weren't really any password breaches and that it didn't touch the server. But obviously everything was messed up from the server to the internet. As far as I can tell, the "emergency maintenance" was about trying to restore all the proper connections after they got everything back.

Also there's a lot of stuff that doesn't work perfectly the first time, such as the width of threads. Seems like it takes one or two reloads to get there.

All I saw was that there were no forums at all..said they were 'missing', or didn't exist. That is very strange if it was indeed hacked and a ransom was demanded! :(

The hacker left a message on the page. The message was quickly replaced with 'down for emergency maintenance' by the web masters of the page.---They did NOT pay the ransom!!

Yikes! I certainly pray the site was not hacked or held for ransom! I did notice some threads have disappeared and I think some PM's have as well.

Big:grouphug: to all!

yes Mona..it was hijacked..a few members saw the actual post, before it was yanked down and the 'offline for emergency maintenance' thing was posted

WOW, Lynn! Thank you (again) for letting us know. That is scary and probably a good reminder to us all to change our passwords every so often. I am going to PM you now, btw :)

The other thread says the hackers asked for $1500 in cryptocurrency..also said ---An admin got their password stolen and somebody used it to take over that admin account and delete basically every forum.

Hi all -

Gee, what did I miss?!?! I think a lot! Between a busy week at work and the hack I've been absent a lot, but I'm here in spirit at least!

I'm having a bad day - no real reason, it's just a foul mood that has settled on me for one reason or another. I had my 2X a month treat of a pedicure & manicure and that didn't bring me out of it. I think it's just a accumulation of "stuff" in my head, bouncing around and it decided to come forefront instead of being quiet in the back of my mind, where I wanted it to stay. Delayed problems & issues aren't gone...just delayed. I need to learn to deal with crap better, rip off the bandaid and deal with it.

I had cake for dinner! Yes I did! Eric had green beans & ham - he rototilled the garden area this evening. I'm hoping to carve out some time this weekend to go clothes shopping, and maybe a pit stop at Costco. I've got to pick up some scrapple & soft shells for my folks, as I'll see them on Monday and "Florida doesn't have any" at the moment. All the old folks from the Northeast in Florida and some enterprising fool hasn't set up a butcher shop w/ Taylors Pork Roll & Soft shells & scrapple and all the usual?!?! I'm sure it exists somewhere in Florida!

Excuse me, I need to separate a bulldog and a great dane that will not stop wrestling....I'm going to miss her, but I think it's a good time for her to go to her new home!!!

Have a good evening all -glad the boards are back up!

(flyingdumbo - I missed a lot but I saw your pastor passed, and for that and you I'm heartily sorry. I hope your Church is able to rebound - don't lose your voice in the discussion, no doubt it will be needed.)
