Good Friday peace and Blessings to all and of course, Good Morning :)

There were a lot of Christmas movies, PollyannaMom. After a while they blended into one another almost. I did record the one last night and will check it out later.

Always love seeing so many new posts when I come on here. It sometimes feels like it is so much earlier here because of the time difference from most all of you. Yet coming on in the morning, I really do enjoy the extra new shares because most of you have already checked in here :)

Good morning all....or I guess afternoon for most of you. 😆

My arm is still a little sore but better than it was yesterday. I feel pretty tired but I've been feeling this way most of the time lately so not sure if it's more than usual because of the shot, or not?. Probably not, I'm just lazy...

Have some goodies to bake and deliver to our friends today. Hubby just got his first shot this morning and then had to go straight to give a training for work. He found out yesterday they have an emergency up in San Francisco so he'll be leaving today after his training instead of Monday like he was supposed to. I'll probably drive up to join him sometime next week as he thinks he'll be there for at least the week...maybe longer. So it will be just DD, my dad and I for Easter.

I'm making a snickerdoodle bundt cake instead
Yum...that's sound good. I love snickerdoodles.

AuntieMe3... The steroids definitely are to blame for the strange behavior in your dog. Our dog was just on steroids and his weird behavior had us scratching our heads. He also had to pee all the time. Hope he feels better soon.
Our other dog is also on steroids but he is so dang mellow anyway they don't do anything to him. This other dog is so high strung I think it really is making him worse. Same with his pain pills they gave him, it's like they amped him up instead of calming him down like I would think. Today is the last day he has to take them so hopefully he gets better. LoL

Anyone roasted broccoli? I would like to try that.
Yes. We love roasted broccoli(and other veggies too). I put it in a big bowl and mix with olive oil, salt and pepper. ETA....I put it on a baking dish or cookie sheet(forgot that part....lol) at 425° and just watch it....usually about 25-30 minutes, sometimes longer. I mix it around about halfway. I like to make it in the air fryer now too....it only takes maybe 15 minutes.

Finally got someone with a brain. The dishwasher is being replaced on Monday. He also said I need to go to the store and speak to a supervisor about all I went through. Wish I had it for the weekend but here's hoping it's finally fully resolved
Yay....glad it's getting taken care of for you.

A warm brownie sure sounds tasty right now to me!

AuntieMe3, continued prayer for you and also your DH that he does okay from the shot. Doggie paws and prayers as well:dog2:

I couldn't get into Welcome Christmas. Maybe next movie will be better. I am recording One Perfect Wedding tomorrow night at 9.

Extra Gratitude:
The Blessing and love of today, Good Friday
Dad saw our friend Aurora at Ralph's this morning and got to wish her a Happy Easter
Warm weather!

OMGosh you guys...I'm getting a little worried about the dog. He's been acting so weird lately, then last night he threw up and apparently he threw up again this morning after DH left because I found some grossness right in the doorway of our bedroom when I got up. He still hasn't eaten his breakfast(so that means he hasn't taken his antibiotic or the steroid) and he's just laying around. He walked into the kitchen to drink some water a little while ago and just laid right in front of the bowl and then wouldn't get up. I have him a piece of hot dog to see if he would eat it, and he did but he would not get up. I finally called him over to the couch and he came over and jumped up but I can just tell he's not feeling well. I called the vets office but they are getting ready to close for lunch so I'll be taking him in when they open back up. I hope it's just something he got into and not something else major....hubby is going lose his mind if something is wrong with him.

Well, as I had hoped, the cold, windy weather, made shopping at Lowes for manure/compost very easy. There was only 1 other customer in the garden shop. I cornered an employee who was just standing there and asked him to go get it and load it for me while I paid. I was in and out in under 5 minutes.
Walmart was a zoo..and of course they didn't have the garden shop doors open , or any cashier in there. I went to the first set of U Scans..and waited a few min for cashier to find the right # and ring me up. Then she walked over to the service desk and asked for them to send someone outside. I went out, hubby moved the car over to where it was stacked. I had 6 of them loaded in the car before anyone even came out. A guy and a girl came..she handed the guy the other 6 and he put them in the car for me. They can stay in the car tonite, until it's warmer tomorrow and I will move them into the shed till I am ready for them. Good thing I went today..they only had 18 bags and I took 12 of them, lol.

Its 43 and sunny, but windy and cold!
@AuntieMe3 I hope your furbaby is okay!

@AuntieMe3 I hope your doggie is feeling better soon. Sending prayers and good thoughts.

It is another cold raw day here today. The weekend looks like it is going to warm up. Finally there are enough people enrolled in Tai Chi tomorrow to hold a class. However, it is outside in one of the town fields at 9 am. I will be freezing with the temp going down to 27 tonight. By 9am it probably won't be more than 40 out. I plan on dressing in layers and leaving if it is too cold. My younger son's MIL is in the class too. I haven't seen her in over a year. It will be nice to chat again. My DS and her DD went to elementary school together and we used to chaperone field trips. That is how we initially met. Our kids were then high school sweethearts and now they are an old married couple with 3 kids. We do get along well so it will be good to see her.

I hope everyone has a nice Easter.

Slipping thread!

Just finished watching the rest of yesterday's Holy Thursday and today's Good Friday services. Prayerful and so beautifully done. I shared with my cousin in TX, Carol, what a Blessing it has been for me across the country to be a tiny part of your church.

Prayers to all for a good and peaceful evening and night.

I had to go directly to responses for this. DH and I used to remark that not one vet visit with our Shepherds went by that our vet didn’t warn us about bloat - or gastric torsion - in Shepherds. I’m sure you know this but they have a high rate of their stomachs twisting on themselves (can happen in any large chested dog but GSDs seem to have it often). It is characterized by the dog not being able to get comfortable or settle, and trying to vomit, etc. It requires emergency surgery and preferably somewhere that has two veterniarians on hand. There could be the possibility that it is just a partial torsion or something like that, but similar symptoms. I hope you’ve gotten a response from your vet’s by now. Praying all lis ok. 🙏🏻

Good Saturday morning DIS family! It's a chilly 27 outside, had a slight frost overnite. Going to be mid to upper 50's. I already moved the car over to the shed and stacked all the mulch and compost/manure bags in there, covered with a tarp. Planning on changing the oil in the mower this morning and maybe mowing this afternoon after the frost is gone and the grass dries out. No fancy Easter weekend plans here. Same old same old. This morning is clean the bathrooms and strip and remake the bed and wash the sheets and hang them on the line to dry in the sun. Nothing better than the smell of fresh sun dried sheets. I have about 6 sets of sheets so I constantly rotate them.

I don't see any furbaby report from @AuntieMe3, I hope she comes back and posts about him today.
I have taped a couple of Hallmark movies the last 2 weekends, but haven't had time to watch any of them yet. Too many other things to watch on the tivo before I get to those.

Have a nice morning everyone, and have a great Easter weekend!

Good morning.

I can tell it's been below freezing for a while overnight because the bird bath is frozen solid. Poor squirrel jumped up for a drink and went ice skating instead.

Made a list of little chores around the house to keep busy - laundry, change towels, frost the cake I baked.

So, another cooking question, I have red food coloring I wanted to use for the frosting, the little bottle of liquid. I happened to read the Best by date of 2014. Think it is still safe to use? I'd hate to have to go back to the store. According to Mr. Google, I can use it.

Yesterday I watched a movie on Lifetime that I enjoyed, My Mom's Letter from Heaven. Totallly different from Hallmark movies.

Off to start the day.

LOL to your ice skating squirrel. I haven't put my birdbaths out yet, not until it doesn't get to freezing overnite.
I would hate to even look at the box of food coloring bottles I have in my cabinet. I am pretty sure it's safe for you to use yours!
I have changed the oil in the mower, put in fresh gas. Got the ladder out to check the gutters and make sure there's nothing in them.
The bed has been stripped and remade, and I turned and rotated the mattress. Washed the other sheets and have them hanging on the line. I have a bedspread from the spare room in the washer now..and the ham for tomorrow is baking. Hubby wanted me to cook it today, so he can cut it all off the bone, and then we can just reheat what we want tomorrow.
Off to find something else to get into!

Thanks for this info. My daughter has a beautiful GSD, my spoiled Grandpuppy. We already know he has a sensitive stomach but I'll pass this info on to her. Murph has me well trained. As soon as I come in the house he heads for his treats. Now he knows he has to go out first. He is alone all day so I try and make sure he has done all the business he needs to take care of. Then he gets his treat.

I would think you are OK using it. You should have seen the box of food coloring my mom had, and used! I think it was from the 1960's. LOL

Good morning all.

Bit brisk today and I am hoping it gets a little warmer this afternoon. My grandson's mother planned an event at a local park so we can safely social distance. She will have the "Easter Bunny" there for LJ's first Easter. I hope he stays awake at least but I will be there with my camera in hand.

I was up early for some reason and have already managed boiling the eggs and potatoes and one cake baked. It did not come out as high as I would have liked so I may have to alter my plans a bit. I wanted to cut it in half and put strawberries in with the frosting and then strawberries and blueberries to decorate. It is a strawberry box cake. We were given a pallet of blueberries at church so I thought it would be a fun way to use some of them. We shall see. I also need to make a pineapple upside down cake and take some to my mom's house tomorrow.

After I got the cooking done I had to go to my mechanics. I noticed something in my tire last night. Of course it is leaking slowly and can't be plugged because it hit the sidewall. Now I need to go to the dealers on Monday but I have a feeling it won't be covered as it is a road hazard. If I can ever get more than 2 years out of tires I would love it. Such is life in the big city. Then I finally remembered to get the cherries I need for the second cake and of course that meant 2 stores because my normal store was out of them.

I'm tired reading everything I have already done and have more to do yet!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday.

Good Morning,

It's cool and grayish here so far. Lol to skating squirrels! Prayers for all furry friends in need. I hope to read a positive update from you, AuntieMe3 later.

Carol, I'll have to remember that Lifetime does show movies. I'm tired of the constant repeating cycle of Hallmark ones.

Yesterday was (always is on Good Friday) a day of mixed emotion. I also found out (not surprisingly at all because of his health) that the senior minister (the only current minister, well full time and English speaking that is) of my church passed away. Prayers of peace to his family absolutely and truly for the church which was IMO so in need of moving forward more kindly and communally for such a long time. I also am keeping in extra prayer my own future at this church.

:grouphug:to all.
