Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I picked up a box of neapolitan ice cream sandwiches today, haven't seen or tried them before. Will be something different anyhow

I've bought those before, and we all liked them. :goodvibes

Gratitude:
  • The dog (at the twins house) got along with the neighbor dog out on a walk.
  • I got through my whole sewing pile this afternoon.
  • DH and DS both liked the shrimp I did in the new air fryer.

I love that we're the very first thread on page 1!

So funny, Easyas! But it is important to keep doggies happy! I hope you, of course, enjoy the fire, too! :)

PollyannaMom, I don't even sew a button but go you for getting through it sounds like a lot of sewing! Glad to hear two other dogs were happy, too.

Did you use battered frozen shrimp or fresh shrimp? Hubby wants me to try cooking shrimp in there, but I haven't come up with a way to do it yet!

I used frozen pre-cooked shrimp.

I thawed them, and dipped them in beaten egg and then a "crumb" mixture of almond flour, Old Bay, and parmesan cheese. - 400 degrees for 8 minutes.

They were still really tasty, but I didn't think the coating stuck as well on some of them as it should have. It could have been a couple of things:
- I had mixed a little water in the egg because it looked like one wouldn't be enough, but two would be wasteful. I've done that before with other things, but I think I used a little too much.
- I also forgot to take them out this morning, and thawed them in warm water this afternoon (which I've also done plenty of times for other recipes, and it's been fine) but I didn't make sure they were completely dry before coating them.

We got to the florist, then CFA for lunch. We get the food the. Drive to the parking lot of an empty building in a business area next to MVA and eat there. Our romantic lunch. :rotfl:Got all my grocery shopping done but put the winery off until tomorrow.

Got home and DS texted that he got a message from the restaurant where he had gotten Easter dinner reservations that they actually weren’t open Easter. So, seeing as they are coming here Monday anyway for the funeral, I invited them here for dinner. (They are always welcome but going to DDIL’s parents earlier in the day.). We haven’t firmed it up yet but I may be going back to the grocery store.

I may be the dissenter, but not everyone loves plants. I don’t have any living houseplants that have survived in my care and would feel guilty about killing a gift plant.

Woke up to much cooler temps, low 50's/middle 60's dropping down into the mid 30's tonight. Same for tomorrow before it heads back up. Wore a jacket and a baseball cap to Lil Joe's t-ball game. The wind gusting at 30 mph made it a little on the chilly side.

I drink one cup of coffee a day, sometimes it takes all day to drink it but I don't mind. I just leave it on the counter and sip it as I want unless DH comes in a decides that it needs to be thrown out which he does quite often. I've asked/told him many times to leave my coffee cup alone. I don't think he is listening to me. :listen: A couple of days ago DS came in and did the same thing. I'm like "What's the deal?". I tell him the same thing, leave my coffee cup alone. Yesterday morning as I was getting Lou Lou ready for preschool Lil Joe comes over to me and says his shirt is wet. I feel of it, it's not that bad and ask where did he get his shirt wet. "I spilt a little of your coffee" is his reply. So I go into the kitchen and it's more than just a little, it's almost the whole cup! All over the counter, down the cabinet doors and onto the floor. What is it about the males in my household? :confused3 Leave my coffee alone! DH just laughed and laughed.

DD is doing well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. She is in quite a bit of pain though. Hydrocodone just isn't cutting it, the Advil the doctor told her to take is doing much better. Instead of one large hernia she had three. Fortunately everything was pushed back with no problem and her intestine was not damaged. I'm sleeping on the couch to be near when she needs to get up in the middle of the night. I guess I better head off to bed if I want to get some sleep.

Night all!

Good morning QUACK'ers. Rained again overnite, temp is only 40 and we are only going to 42, yuck! We both had headaches last nite, I still have a little bit of one, and in fact I slept till 5, so I threw off my own morning schedule, lol. The cats were not happy with me but I'll survive.

I get so tired of people not doing their jobs right. I was going over his Medicare 'EOB's, not what they call them, but it amounts to the same thing. I see 2 bills from his cardiologist that were submitted to Medicare, from Dec. Only problem is, he wasn't on Medicare in Dec, he was on BCBS CareFirst. So now when we get bills from the physicians office, I have to call them, have them send them back to the billing dept, have them bill CareFirst instead of Medicare, and then wait to be rebilled if we have any payment due. Its hard enough trying to juggle Medicare and Aetna, without have someone's office submit things to the wrong place, grrr. And I know they had the right info, because I called in Jan to make sure everyone knew to switch from CareFirst to Medicare, and they told me that when the clinic submitted the new info, every Drs office he goes to in the hospital got the same information.

I had planned on mowing today, but the weather is not going to cooperate, so I will do some indoor cleaning, maybe, lol.

The neapolitan ice cream sandwiches were okay, but next time I'll stick to the vanilla..or try the chocolate ones they sometimes have.

Lots more tomato seedlings have come up,,so glad I have people asking me to save them a few plants. I ordered 100 small pots on Amazon to transplant them into,,can't find styrafoam cups around here for some reason, and that's usually what I just plant them into when I give them away.

Have a nice morning!

Good morning.

Still raining and cold here.

There is in person church tonight for Maundy Thursday but I think we will watch on YouTube.

Other plans are to go to the winery we missed yesterday and the local hardware store for Solar Salt for the water conditioner.

Lots more tomato seedlings have come up
Wish I was closer, I'd request two. I only have a small garden and no green thumb but like to try to grow a few tomatoes.

Don't fall for any pranks today.

pollyannamom: I love making crab cakes in my air fryer. I have also found to cover everything in a little olive oil helps give it the crispness

lynxstch: thanks again for the fun Disney pictures in the morning , I enjoy waking up to them. God decided to play an April‘s fool joke on us here in Ohio . We got an inch of SNOW last night covering the ground.

Good morning everyone. Thought I would say hello before I hopefully go back to sleep for another 5-6 hours after being awake for close to 4 hours following my basicly 6 hour nap. Honestly I was only going to lay down for a couple of hours. I do remember my husband calling on his break and we did not talk very long, at some point I did wake up enough for 13 year old to sign to me that she wanted to take a shower. Since we have to supervise her I knew I was not in shape so I did call 16 year old who said she would come upstairs in a bit. I don't know if she ever came up. I did tell 13 year old that mama was not awake enough to help her in the shower and I do know she put on some clothes. Never the same clothes she took off. For a kid who does not have much of a wardrobe because she out grew her entire wardrobe last year and is hard to fit so not being able to try on clothes has been a P I T A . Got our stimulus money yesterday finally. Now to have DH attempt to start the taurus that had the transmission go out back in October 2019. My dad thinks the battery may have gone from just sitting there for so long. It is parked outside the fence on our place but still quite a distance from the house. I did have 16 year old try and start it one day but it didn't start. She is not sure she did it right though I told her she did when she said I moved the key all the way forward. The plan is to have DH check it and then if it doesn't start look at getting a new battery. DH doesn't think we have a long enough extenstion cord to get from the house to the taurus to put a battery charger on. We do not have a portable battery charger or wait I think we might. Just a minute going to ask DH. No I am not because he is either asleep or ignoring me. I think we have a portable jumper box that is also a charger. If not at the rate we are going on this my dad will be back and we can see if he can pull it closer to the house using the skid steer or if he has extra outdoor extension cords so we can string them together and use the charger. It is going to depend on the date of the battery as well because if it is well past it would just be easier to replace the battery because we will be replacing it soon anyways.

Good morning everyone -

Cold and dreary, nothing new.

Not much on todays agenda, at the office for the majority of today, then up to make a return to Home Depot, pick up some groceries, grab hoagies from Wawa for dinner and stop at two places in an attempt to get some crab meat which I've left a bit late. I've got a chill I just can't shake this morning for some reason, going to have a hot cup of tea I think!

Good Morning All and Happy April

Still nice and warm inside here. Today's supposed to be in the upper 80's and then it gets cooler but thankfully not cold. In normal times, I would be helping to set up tonight's Maundy Thursday dinner and service at church. I don't even think my own church is offering anything tonight so I will extra check out worship from yours Carol. Post plague, I am definitely going to try and spearhead earlier service/fellowship options for those who prefer so that more could be included. I remember a lot of elderly folks simply did not want to go out at night so they didn't participate. I feel better early in the day myself, so I definitely get that. Always nice to offer a bigger welcome.

Feel better to all in need! And hugs to all :)

If this is someone's idea of an April Fool's Day joke..it's not funny. I just went out to get the mail..and it's snowing! :(

I saw it was snowing in Frostburg earlier today and thought of you -
You know I'm pro-snow, I've often wished for snow this past winter but as of now I'm 100% pro-sun & warm:beach: so this little cold snap can go away now! Its funny how soon we adapt and expect it to be warm after a few days of it. I know I was complaining earlier to my husband about it being chilly this coming weekend- but in reality it's going to be warmer than many other recent weekends we were outside doing stuff and happy to have 55 & sun. I am trying to keep myself from the same mistake I make every year, which is to put away my winter clothes and bring out the warm weather stuff before I am 100% ready for it!

So I've got to take two ladies from the admin side of the office to a jobsite visit next week. They are both nice and we've enjoyed chit chat in the office on a daily basis, but I am not really ready to be stuck in a car with them 4 hours r/t making small talk....plus I'm a talk radio or book listener in the car, so that won't fly to well. I'm taking them so they can put a "face" so to speak to some of the paperwork they see on a daily basis. It's basically a field trip, and I've never enjoyed playing chaperone. Or teacher. Oh well, I'll just have to suck it up. There are worst scenarios.

Happy April to all,

So many happy things going on to be celebrated here. I love the week of Easter and Spring coming. I feel such a sense of hope and new growth at this time of year even more so with all the vaccinations and seeing so many people having reunions. It's refreshing and feeding my happy bank. I'm ignoring the weather today as supposed to be beautiful this weekend.

I read about people using their air fryer. I spray some olive oil (from afar, not close) to things I've breaded for our air fryer. I've also had really good luck with different version of crunchy with eggs and cornstarch and touch of water. I mix the egg, add the water and then cornstarch. I season the meat or shrimp and then pour both together and let sit as long as possible. When ready to air fry, I sometimes do another dusting of corn starch and then put in the air fryer. I did this to make steak stir fry other night and it was super crunchy! I also have found air fry breading for fish the other day. It was great for make catfish po boys. Still have to spray on some olive oil to keep crunchy.

My Gratitudes:
Blessed Easter Week
Feeling better after my first vaccine shot
Maintaining my food management

Good Afternoon.

Cold and windy here today but no rain.

I have been up, showered and dressed since 6:30 AM waiting for Best Buy to come and deal with this dishwasher. They were supposed to be here between 7 AM and1 PM. It is now after 2 and I am still waiting. I called customer service and they can't find them. They did say once this whole issue is resolved I will get compensation but that wasn't what I was after. I want the dishwasher replaced with one that works. I was supposed to help with the food distribution at church which of course I missed. It is just a bit aggravating as I had other errands to do today.

On the bright side I chatted with a friend last night and we were talking about how frustrating it is to get the vaccine around here. She has a friend who runs the mass clinics and got me in for next week and better it is the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. It's not that I really want it because I have concerns about the efficacy and how long it will last but if it means I can start to live a more normal life I will do it. We have decided to cancel the Alaska Cruise til next year. I just have concerns being one of the 1st ships to go out after all this time. Even with the vaccine we could get sick. Instead I am going to Disney either in early November for the Food and Wine Festival or early December for Christmas. I don't know if it will be a solo trip yet but I am thinking my husband may decide to come on this one. He has been cooped up for a long time.

I received a complement about one of my grandson's yesterday. That is always nice. His baseball coach at school is my insurance agent. I was told how polite he is and what a good ball player he is. Both are nice to hear. He is a very good ball player and I love that the grandsons all want me to come to watch them play. It's nice knowing they love having their old Grandmom around.

Dinner tonight is Arby's. I got an offer of 5 sandwiches for $5. It's that or possibly Texas Roadhouse depending on when I can get out to do my errands. Tomorrow I am thinking Shrimp but I could get lazy and make grilled cheese. I try and observe Good Friday. When I was a child Good Friday was always going to the cemetery with my great aunt. She didn't drive so my mom would take us all out there. My aunt liked to place memorials at the family graves. She always treated us to lunch after and she LOVED KFC. Mom would never say no to her so we got chicken on Good Friday. It got me out of macaroni salad with tuna fish and onions in it for dinner. I miss my aunt.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Anyone have any suggestions for getting blood pressure up. Yes that is right up. Yours truely here does not follow the rules of your obese so you are going to have high cholesterol especially the bad kind (nope mine is low but my good kind is high and I do eat meat including red meat as a regular part of my diet), high blood sugar-let's celebrate when a fasting test hits over 70 people. The look on the doctors face with 16 year old and the midwives face with 13 year old when my number was 72 with both of them for the one hour test.
Yes my blood pressure is low and that my dear friends may be the reason why I struggle so much and pass out wearing a mask.

Check out these two articles.
https://www.medicinenet.com/low_blood_pressure/article.htm
https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog...-may-be-lowering-blood-pressure-for-millions/
The one article when I read back through it has been edited to take out the chart so I did a quick search and found this one

https://www.rushmemorial.com/services/wellness/blood-pressure-chart/
my normal is 82-85/50-55, if it goes up into the 110/70 range it is a better sign than a tempature that I have some sort of an infection and if it hits 122-125 or 80-85 for the top or bottom number respectively it's time for some serious medication because other wise I am looking at being put in the hospital. If I can catch mine going up into the normal range and start taking extra vitamin c and vitamin d I can usually ward off or at least lesson the severity of a cold.

Oh and in case your wondering yes my normal body tempature is low as well though when I sleep for some reason I have always slept hot. DH calls me his heater.

I don't need to get my blood pressure up much just enough so that it is not going into the low enough to cause problomatic symptoms when I wear a mask. Is that too much to ask.

Well since I have a 4-H department N meeting this evening. Probally going to attend via web ex as trying to avoid driving the truck too much due to the breaks acting up. DH is going to talk with my dad this weekend and see about getting it into the shop and having my dad help him look at them. Good they can do the tail light that is out at the same time. DH was supposed to get with my dad to get the oil changed in the shop but instead he just did it out in the driveway and my dad was going to help him figure out the tail light then when he had it over in the shop. Either way I can't attend in my night gown so I am going to go get a nice hot shower and then get dressed. Who knows I might go ahead and sneak into town and get something. Than again maybe not. A lot is going to depend on if 16 year old has finally surfaced from the basement or not and if I have my horses on Howrse all taken care of for the day.

I'm sorry it's still snowy for some of you out there❄ Please do stay extra safe and of course, keep cozy!

4 hours stuck in a car, especially right now, is a long time, Easyas! I hope your trip goes well and that the ladies make kind, easy conversation!

:hug:Tina, always good to see you!

Taz Dev, I grew up with my grandparents, that time was indeed precious. I know you are so cherished by you grandsons!

Sweetpeama, no advice, just a hug and prayer.

Gratitude:
Officially a new month and such a Holy weekend
