I'm very excited to see that Halloween Crunch is back out! We've been on the lookout for Franken-berry and Count Chocula - Josh would LOVE them!
We are planning to go shopping at Carter's and Michaels tomorrow. I see that Halloween-ish stuff is at Carter's (I'm hoping they have the Frankenstein's Monster pajamas for Josh - he LOVES him!) and I know Michaels will have a lot, being that it's time to get fall crafts going. I'll take some photos for our hunt!
I think the universe heard me venting about the schools and their requirements! My mom called yesterday and we talked about trying to find a notary for her letter. When we hung up, I made lunch for Josh, with the intention of looking around to see where I might find an available notary afterward. Well, while I was in the middle of lunch preparation, my mom suddenly texted that she'd already made an appointment with the town hall notary for Wednesday morning! Wow...that was fast! Then DH texted to say that he spoke to the dentist's office and they are open until 6 on Monday evening, just call ahead by about an hour, and they'll sign that form for us. (I'm sure they're used to this...it's a pediatric dentist. He said they seemed to know exactly what form it is

) So glad that's working out easily. Now I just need to stress about getting everything done before my mom gets home. Living room is a mess with all the toys that Josh refuses to pick up...I'll have to clean the bathrooms (my least favorite chore

) and mop the kitchen floor. Want to get laundry done, too, as I don't know how much she'll have. She's looking forward to coming home. No longer enjoying her visit...she says my uncle is just like Grandpa and she's tired of it.
Almost forgot to post that that corn maze is amazing! I wonder if we will have any out here this year. There's one in South Windsor that always does a huge fall thing, with 2 corn mazes - a children's maze and a larger, much more difficult one. We went last year for the first time and did both. The children's maze was fun, and they put photos of animals throughout and you were supposed to find all 10 (we did). Then we did the "big" one and yes, it was sort of difficult. They have two lookout towers on each side of it, manned by employees, and they also have several employees walking the maze who always ask if you need assistance. At first we let Josh take the lead, but then it seemed we were going around in circles, so I took over. They also had a pirate ship playground, a go-kart track (Josh tried but couldn't do it. He crashed in the first curve and wouldn't do any more. Maybe since he did such a good job at the Ford Driving School at Legoland this year, he'd be willing to try again), a small petting zoo, a hayride, and then you got to take home some pumpkins and gourds. It was fun (even though DH got mad at me for letting Josh try the go-karts and "embarrassing" him because he wasn't ready. Kind of put a damper on the day).
I'm also hoping that our Trolley Museum might do the "Pumpkin Patch Trolley," too. Admission only includes 1 trolley ride to the "pumpkin patch" (just an open field where they've set out pumpkins, not an actual patch) and kids get a pumpkin with their admission. They also have food, decorations to explore, and a "corn pit" for the kids to play in.
(Hm, now I can't upload any photos...they're all saying that they're too large for the server to process. Never had that issue with photos from this phone before...

)
