A different picture request: I don't suppose any of you have ever lived on a farm with baby lambs? I need a picture of one. Related, lol, I also need a picture of a young child dressed as a lamb perhaps as apart of a church Christmas pageant. Please PM me for more info. To protect privacy the child in no way has to be up close or recognizable! Just the idea that he is dressed in a woolly lamb suit Thank ewe ETA: A lamb picture could also be a lamb that was part of Live Nativity at a church in your town at Christmas. That could actually work better than a lamb alone but I will thankfully take that, too. Added the other also because it may make this easier.

I just put out some "fall" decorations...sunflower garden flag and door wreaths. Will do photos later.

Josh had his doctor's appointment today. Basically good. Still a tiny little dude...only 8th percentile for weight...but maintaining his own curve. Needs to take an iron supplement because he doesn't eat meat and his iron is very low. Also has inherited his dad's flat feet, so we need to fix that now, before he has problems that can't be fixed.

He hasn't even started school yet and I'm already having issues with the bureaucratic red tape, though. First off, the ONLY thing they will accept for proof of residence are 2 (different) utility bills. Well, since we live with my mother, she is the homeowner, and all utilities are in her name. We have plenty of other bills and mail in our names, with the same address...we even got new licenses a mere month ago...but they will not accept those. ONLY utility bills. So now my mother has to write a letter and have it notarized. Of course, she's still in Illinois, and it's also difficult to find a notary right now - the library is not offering notary services due to covid, we might be able to find one at a bank but we have to make an appointment...DH can't have it done by a coworker at the bank where he works because it's in a different state...

And then, at the doctor's appointment, she wouldn't sign the oral health form because that needs to be done by the dentist. So now we have to make another appointment there just to have his form signed. And of course the lady from the public schools' central office is nagging me for all this stuff because he can't start until they have it all (he also needs to pick up an iPad and maybe get a little orientation, which they won't do until he's "fully registered," which means they've received and reviewed all the documents)...

It's stressing me out even more than I already am. School starts Tuesday, September 8. Which is weird with the hybrid that they're doing...Josh is in the first group that will (normally) go on Monday and Tuesday, then he goes online W-F. So the first week, this whole group of kids goes to school for one day, then they stay home for 5 days. I know they'll be online learning, but it's still weird to have them go for just the one day.

Yep. Getting ready for the schools to rule our lives for the next 13 years. I wish I was smart enough to home school! (But he really needs the social interaction, too. Even though he won't be doing a lot of that at school right now...at least he'll be around other kids. Kind of have my fingers crossed that his best friend from preschool might actually end up in his class.)

Hugs, apirateslifeforme, in years to come Josh will probably indeed tower over you. I had to for a while take iron as well but admit it did not last long (vile stuff). From what you have shared, Josh eats a more balanced diet than most kids and even bigger "kids" like me at times lol. I am sorry, too, about all the red tape.

I thought of a perfect Fall picture! Last year I did a Fall in Love With Jesus themed truck or treat! I can post a picture of the poster I made that thanks to autumn leaf (battery operated) lights from the Dollar Tree lit up.

I'm sure Josh will tower over me someday! I'm only 5'1" to begin with...but we also used an egg donor who was 5'11"! Between her and DH being 5'9"-ish, Josh is predicted to be 6' in the end

No kidding! There are several entrance and exit points and small sections. A different location about 45 mins south does super fun corn maze that is a beer crawl. It sells out in minutes. Nothing like bunch adults with beer lost in corn maze...now that's Indiana fun!!

That must be a sight! We have a good size one here I’ve done before. I did get lost, lol. There was a family with little kids they were crying and had to be “rescued”. We sat with them later on the hayride. All was good, though. It’s good that the workers have “rescue hatches” and can swoop in if needed. Oh yes just remembered, the family had called for help on their cell phone!!

It almost feels like Fall here today. It was 55 degrees out at 5 am this morning, a little cool feeling. We are currently at 78 beautiful sunny degrees with a slight breeze blowing. I turned the AC off and have the windows open. All of my furbabies are loving it, they are all sitting in windows watching the birds and the outside cats, lol!

Other entertainment today. DD called that they were going for a hike and invited DH and me. DH had things to do so I met them for a 2.3 mile walk in the woods. DSIL starts back as a teacher Monday and DD has 3-4 more weeks of maternity leave so they are doing something fun everyday this week. Then after DSIL starts work, she and the kids will be doing things with us.

And now, something else that entertains in the time of COVID. I can't say I'm proud of but it's like watching a car accident. It's a soap opera. Our neighbor, whose garage faces the side of our house, is a hoarder. He has not lived in the house for over 3 years but comes by to check the mail and mow the grass. The last time the garage door of the 2 car garage was up, we could see that it was stacked floor to ceiling with no room to even walk through and no organization. Just crushed and water-soaked boxes. Today the owner, a 50-60ish man who was a surgeon, came by with some woman young enough to be a daughter but who knows. I was eating lunch on the screen porch before the entertainment started. The female was yelling "You have a problem. You need to get rid of this stuff." They were there about an hour and had 2 trash cans filled. He is going to need days and a dumpster to clean out the mess. And now the cans are sitting outside in the driveway.
