Glad to hear the good news on this thread @Caseheidi @PollyannaMom @apirateslifeforme :goodvibes and glad people are enjoying the pictures. I am too! Something about those colors I love! A few yrs back I painted my bedroom an orange tone! 😱 It’s really pretty. As a matter of fact I splurged this week and bought a new quilt set that has a lot of those fall colors in it, and I have jewel tones in the rest of my house. They make me feel cozy and warm.

Was proud of my son this week. A homeless man had fallen and hit his head and was laying on the sidewalk bleeding and people were just walking by. So DS ran and found two police officers who assisted the man and called an ambulance for him, so within five minutes of the police coming on scene, he was on his way to a hospital. He felt good about helping him, and texted on our family group chat to tell us what happened. He has a good heart.

Good Saturday morning.

Last night I made taco salad for dinner. Then we went to UDairy Creamery for ice cream. During dinner I put the hose on my garden to give it some water. Forgot about it until I woke up this morning. I think the plants got enough water.

We had taco salad for dinner last nite too! Yikes to your water being on all nite, that will hike the water bill up some :( I will have to water today, if we don't get the predicted rain. It's 85 and sunny, not 78 and rain, like they said it would be for the whole weekend.

@PollyannaMom, glad your son had a negative test.

I have never been tested. Here they do a nasal swab and I have a real thing against anything going on with my nose. I would if required but not just to know. DD has been tested 3 times because her state does an oral swab.

Husband had to be tested on Wednesday for work, since one employee tested positive at one of the consumer houses. Hubby hasn't been to work in the office since March, hasn't been near anyone at work since March, hasn't been in a restaurant or store since March. But it was non negotiable, no test, no work. So he went. It was the simple nasal one, took all of 2 seconds. They should get the results on Monday. Glad your son was negative too @PollyannaMom !

More in the saga of our neighbor and his trash. This is going to be a guilty obsession for me. DH and I were eating dinner on out porch, which has a perfect view of the show, last night when the neighbor came back over. He went through the two trash cans and picked out things and put them in his car. I guess he is just slowly moving his junk to a new location.

LOL a new past time for you. Maybe they will throw away something good, and you can go over and snag it before he comes back and goes through the trash cans!

Summer has returned here! So hot yesterday and even hotter today! This morning our first stop was to be Carter's for some things on this last day of the tax-free shopping week in CT. I had looked online before we left the house and the website said that the store opened at 10. We arrived at 10:08 and snagged the LAST spot in front of the door (it's in an open-air mall), only to find that a hand-written sign on the door said that they now open at 11. I didn't want to lose that prime parking spot, and we needed to kill time, so we walked all the way down to the other end of the mall and ended up going into LL Bean. There, we found a plaid flannel shirt (in "autumn" colors - orange, golden yellow, navy, and dark green) and long-sleeve plaid twill shirt (deep turquoise, coral, and green) for DH on the clearance racks, regular $49.95, marked down to $19.99. Excellent savings for LL Bean! Josh and I went outside, and DH was pleasantly surprised to find that he had $65 in "Bean Bucks" so he paid nothing out of pocket for those shirts! SCORE!!!

Walked back down to Carter's and thought we had another 10 minutes to wait, but people were walking in, so we joined them. It made me a little sad to bypass all those little baby clothes up front, then even the toddler section in the middle, and head right for the regular boys' sizes in the back. They were almost completely sold out of knit jogger pants, but I found one pair each in navy, grey, and black in Josh's size. He'll wear those on days he's distance learning. Then he picked out a set of "double pajamas" (4 related pieces...he liked the space shuttle ones) and then I grabbed some socks. I had discovered that we still had some money on a Visa gift card that expires next month, so I used that up and the entire purchase only set us back $9 and change! I'll make up for it by purchasing the Frankenstein and "Rocket Around the Christmas Tree" pajamas now...

And I also spent a bit at Michael's. Wanted a collage frame for Josh's school photos like my mom did for mine and DH's. There are wallet-sized openings for photos from kindergarten through junior year of high school, and a 5x7 for the senior photo. We're going to put it in the dining room under our collages. I can't believe it's time to start that...and it will be filled in the blink of an eye, won't it?

Got a few other things, and then I went on my quest. Found some Halloween things that I want now (but will wait for those to go on sale), and here are some scavenger hunt items!

I feel like I have been out of the loop since last evening. My laptop said no internet and I can't tell you how many times I have unplugged, restarted and turned off my laptop, router and modem? (whatever it's called) last night. Then my daughter tells me this morning that she had internet in her bedroom. So I check my work computer and yep, she was right, there's internet just five feet away from my laptop. I do some research and low and behold there is a wifi button on my laptop that must have been touched by accident. Wah lah! Internet!! :cheer2:

@apirateslifeforme, you really scored today!

@Pea-n-Me, you son have such a caring heart!

Joe and I met his oldest brother and wife for breakfast in Dallas. We found a restaurant called Breadwinners that had seating on a patio. We all felt more comfortable being outside. It was so good to see them, March is the last time we were together. Dallas is a fairly good spot inbetween where we both live.

Then we got home and my sister and her daughter had come by for a visit. It was good to see them too plus her husband dropped by after he got off work.

Dinner last night was chicken tamales, rice, avocado, Tostitos and queso. Tonight we are having roast, mashed potatoes and probably peas and carrots.

@Kirby , glad you got WiFi back. That can be so frustrating.

@lynxstch , DS loves Oreos. When he was in college, I always bought the seasonal ones for him.

@Pea-n-Me , what a wonderful thing your son did.

LOL a new past time for you. Maybe they will throw away something good, and you can go over and snag it before he comes back and goes through the trash cans!
Maybe, but most of his stuff looks like trash. I just like watching.

Smart to start now. I didn't start until both kids were in high school and remarkably found every year of class photos. The funny thing is that DS was small ans didn't grow too fast. After I did this I noticed he is wearing the same shirt in 6th and 7th grades and then again, different shirt, in 8th and 9th grades. When we got to high school senior portraits, I always bought two frames at once so I'd have matching frames for both kids.

Need to go out and help DH mow the lawn.

What a good idea!

They certainly do!

DS's school ones are in a growth chart frame, similar to this:520896
(photo from internet)

but I used one like you described for baby photos - birth to 11 months around the edges, and then his first birthday pic in the middle.

I did a similar thing for a neighbor who has twins, but the outside are 1 month to 12 months (each twin has his own frame) and the center oval of each is a newborn pic of the two of them together.

Love all the fall stuff just wish it felt more fall like here. LoL Thankfully it was a bit cooler yesterday than we expected. We celebrated my nieces 5th birthday yesterday with a sort of backyard campout....lol We ended up putting the tent up in the living room instead of the yard for her and my sister, BIL slept in the spareroom on the bed. It was a "small party" just the 3 of us, 3 of them, my dad, grandma, uncle and our 2 really good friends. We sat outside and BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers, had the most amazing watermelon(seriously so good) and my sister made this really good Mexican corn pasta salad. Hubby and DD were already fighting over who gets the leftovers today. Even though it was just us my sister decorated soo cute. I made a chocolate cake with homemade peanut butter frosting, again my sister decorated it so cute.

Along with the regular party munchies, we had swiss rolls for fire logs, cheese puffs(hot and regular) for campfire flames, forest berries-raspberries and blackberries), pretzel "twigs", and some milk duds and whoppers for "bear poop". 🤦‍♀️

Happy Sunday, going to the store for the first time in two weeks, a warehouse one, so hopefully easier to social distance. Hoping to find some pumpkin bread or muffins too. I had a growth chart stuck inside a door , and cried a little when my kids both hit 5 ft and were too tall to be marked any longer. I’ve started seeing some creative ideas for Halloween costumes.

Baby as a crocodile , parents in tan hats , shirts and boots as the hunters
A couple with google map shirts and red dot you are here hats, then spot marked on map of new littke one coming
A pair of sisters or friends each dressed as a tree and a line with clothespins and Barbie clothes between them
Any other cute ideas ??

Well the weatherman has had it wrong again all weekend. They said we would have rain Thursday, Friday, Saturday and today. We had sun and almost 90 all 3 days till today. It was 88 a little while ago, but all of a sudden a huge black cloud appeared behind our house, and we had a downpour, that lasted all of 15 min. Now the sun is out again. What a shame, now I don't have to mow the lawn again, until at least tomorrow. We are supposed to be in the 90's again for the next 3 days, so it sure doesn't feel like Fall around here yet! Enjoying seeing everyone's fall pictures for sure!

Picture is of the lovely black clouds just before the downpour!20200823_133152_resized.jpg

WE have growth charts in the garage for the grand kids. Just Sharpee marked ones. The cute ones were at their house, but not sure they have them anymore:(

We had a couple good thunderstorms a few nights ago. 2 nights in a row. Not much sleep, too loud, too bright and the video doorbell kept going off. Had to put my phone in a bathroom drawer. Didn't cool anything down. Just made out usual dry heat a horrible humid heat.
