21 going to 26 today. We had about 4" or so overnight. Snowing lightly on and off now. I cleared the decks, ramps, steps and a path to the sheds. The guy next door is going to use his snow blower on the rest for me. My back just can't take it. I hate having to admit when I can't do everything on my own anymore :(
I'll have to insist he let me pay him, and he will protest and we'll go around and around until I just hand it to him and say take it, period.

It started snowing around 11 last night and by 11:30 the plows were up and down the street so the main road is clear. Snow blowers, plows, and 4x4's are all over the place. 3 of the 5 outdoor cats were here for breakfast, haven't seen the other 2 yet. I cleared around the shed steps so they can go in and out from underneath it.
Going to rest a bit and then go clean off the car cover and shovel that snow out of the way.

Have a good day

Good Monday Morning!

Well, we got some snow!!!! Started yesterday, late morning. By this morning, my area had 7" and it started snowing again. We're expected to get another 4" today. Lots and lots of places are closed. I'm working from home. So far my sister's knee surgery is still on for tomorrow. I'm waiting until it's done snowing today to go out and start shoveling. Kinda hoping some kids will come around looking to make some money.

Dogs are snuggly in the house sleeping. I really don't think Boomer is a Lab at all. He doesn't like water in the summer, so no playing in the pool or with the hose, and he would much rather stay in the house vs going out to play in the snow. None of the dogs have left the deck when they go out since yesterday.

That's about it. Stay warm and have a great day!

Cold here too. (I think I may leave the outdoor lights up a few extra days. ) I bought a thing to cover the hose hookup, but it has no instructions - oh well, I'm sure there's a video on YouTube that will show me how to attach it.

It sounds like it will be a fun cruise, @Snowysmom!

Our remaining cat is having some trouble "going" outside of the box. We're not sure if she's just upset about losing her sister or if there is something medical going on. I had her at the vet Saturday, and they gave her a B-12 shot to calm her tummy a bit, but I'm waiting to hear on other test results today.

The 16 year old cat we have here lost his sister and cat soul mate maybe 3 or 4 years ago. He was my DD's cat and was so lonely and upset. Combined with my DD's work and travel schedule he was not doing well. We took him and he's thriving now. He's bonded with both of us and somewhat with the other two cats. Very healthy now, but not so when he first came.

It could be physical and you've taken her to the vet so will get an idea, or it could be sadness and missing her sister, especially if they cuddled together as this cat did with his sister.

It was nice to look outside and see someone else clearing it, so I didn't have to kill my back doing it. All the snow was cleaned up in about 20 minutes, which would have taken me 2+ hours. The sun is out and the snow has stopped, so maybe we got all we're going to get. Sorry you got so much @footballmouse . I think this part of MD was spared most of what they expected, I haven't heard how much they got to the west or east of me.

We've got a bunch of it and it's still coming. They've got it projected out to 10pm whether that will happen or not.

Son sent pics of DGD getting bundled up to go out with DIL. She looked ecstatic! Later they sent a pic of her with a tub of snow and some plastic toys set in the bathtub. She wasn't taking a bath just playing in the snow. Mom and Dad are working from home, so Mom was grading papers, lol.

Son said it kept her busy for a whole hour.

What a cute idea!

I guess we got 8+ inches all totaled and it’s still coming down. Stuck in the house, but we’re good. Our handyman will be around to shovel tomorrow. Our lawn people came by tonight to see if we needed it done. They did find other work.

Good night.

You guys in the mid Atlantic and west area got so much snow. I hope you are safe and warm. Little ones playing in the snow is so cute. They just have so much fun. Maybe we need to do that too! :) Yesterday my phone app said 4-6 inches of snow here for the weekend. Now it says less than an inch and agrees with the local weather. I guess they are still watching a potential storm so never hurts to be prepared.

The temp here is 15 with the feel like temp -1. Walking is a challenge these days and with not feeling well I feel a bit like a sloth. I need to get moving but the gym is out until I feel better. I may go to BJ's today and wander around the store. I can get some steps in that way. DGS Luke is all better and back in school. I talked with BCBS yesterday about a Medicare supplement plan and how soon I can sign up for one. They sent me the info and I am going to have Jeff take a look as he is very analytical. I like what I see and I will add eye and hearing as it is only $2.62 per month. My eye doctor takes the insurance and it more than pays for itself. Dental is another issue. Not sure if that one is worth it. My NH friend does not have dental and says she breaks even. Now to pick the brain of my MA friend who is on the supplement plan too. They do not make this easy.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Happy Tuesday!

We did get more snow all day yesterday, finally stopped around 3:00 pm. Ended up getting 10" total from the past 2 days. I started shoveling the driveway and got 1/2 way done. I reached out to someone on Facebook saying he'll do driveways for $25 but by the time I sent him a message, he got back with me, and I was able to check my phone, I already was 1/2 way done. I'm working from home again today so I'll finish it this morning. I also ran out of salt and I doubt anyone has any available.

Watched a movie on Amazon last night, Companymen. It was pretty good.

The cats are hanging all over the laptop so I'm going to end it here. Have a great day!

Good morning. We got maybe another 1/2" or so after the main part of the storm, so probably topped out at bout 5". I went out after supper and shoveled the last inch or so, which was back to being light snow. I didn't want what the plows left freezing solid overnight. The winds came up around 11 again, but they're gone this morning. The plows were still running up and down the road after midnight. I heard them make one pass about 6 am. Schools are closed again.

Maybe things will be back to normal tomorrow. I'm going to put trash out tomorrow morning, but it might not get picked up until Thursday. UPS delivered the package they were supposed to bring last Friday, but I don't remember seeing the mail truck come by at all. I didn't have any according to informed delivery, so I didn't bother going across to look
Just a heads up that there's no mail delivery on Thursday, for the national day of mourning for Jimmy Carter.

I need to clean out the fridge and make a grocery list for tomorrow. I have a couple of Amazon returns for UPS and a couple of Walmart returns.

Have a good day.

Attempting to feed the outdoor birds the last few days! I found a broken trash can lid to set atop our 8 plus inches of snow - I know it's at least that and maybe more.

Then got the the garden thing from Aldi that holds water and stood it up and filled it with seed.

So, then both yesterday and today I had swarms of birds. Fun to watch, and again I had 4 pairs of cardinals at a time and doves, finch, sparrows, woodpeckers, junco, red winged blackbirds and some others such as european starling.

Unfortunately today I have attracted a red shouldered hawk who is intent on breakfast or lunch and he/she is not interested in seeds.

He swooped in and so far I haven't seen him with a catch but he's back in the tops of the pine trees and no birds in my feeding area.

Headed to my barn/shed for the snow shovels and couldn't see them. They may be buried and it was kind of dark in there. Will have to look later. Maybe I put them in the basement but I don't remember. All I know for sure is they've never been used.

DD will have to clean her car today as she may have to go in tomorrow, or not. All her work can be completed at home but she has a partial home office schedule.

Schools here are closed everywhere - all the counties. Ours have not restarted since the holidays but some went in late last week. Remote class has almost eliminated the need for built in snow days as they switch to remote learning on many days now, to include the usual half days they used to schedule.

I still have several pairs of snow boots including Sorel's which are warm and comfy. I also bought a huge and long parka 2 years ago which I wore maybe once since it was overkill for here. It was just perfect the last 2 days!

We also have our very old after ski boots, lol! They are the best for shoveling so even though really old, we keep them for that.

edit: not much melting going to happen this week as our highest temp will be only 34. We are forecast to have gusts up to 19 mph though. That could bring down some brittle trees. We had a short power outage a few days ago before the snow - maybe 45 minutes. Our lines are all above ground so usually we are the first victims since we live on streets with the older homes.

Prayers for you Flyingdumbo127.

Good morning. Another cold day here. I have been bundling up in my new heavy long coat, wool hat, and heavy mitten gloves to walk to the mailbox. I need to get in some walking. Yesterday I went to BJs and wandered around the warehouse getting in some steps. I am hoping to get to the lake Friday or Saturday as it looks like the wind will be lessening and the temps a bit warmer. I made balsamic chicken and veggies in a sheet pan for dinner last night. It was really good. I get recipes every day from Eating Well. The recipes are largely healthy and easy to prepare.

Have a good day.

That looks good! I would have to substitute the cauliflower (nobody in my family likes it but me) but I could easily do all broccoli or add some carrots. Thanks!

I took a quick walk around the neighborhood yesterday just to get out in the sunlight, but walked on the treadmill a bit as well, because it was too cold to be out for long.

I took a few more Christmas things down and worked on my puzzle. The vet finally got back to us with test results, and the kitty doesn't seem to have an infection. I think she's just sad. 😔
