First, the shoes question. I prefer bare feet but if I have to, Asics athletic shoes. In the summer, I love Teva sandals or naturalizer sandals.

Favorite game show would be Jeopardy. When I was little I watched the old Jeopardy with my Nana. She could give the questions to alot of the answers. I thought she was so smart! We also watched the old Concentration with Hugh Downs. She could easily solve the puzzles. The 1960's had alot of game shows. I tried out for Jeopardy when they were in Boston in 2006. You had to go to a venue and take the test, no online test yet. It was alot of fun and I actually was able to get more than half of the test correct. I didn't get picked but it was a great experience.

I’m not really into game shows. But I did like Let’s Make a Deal. I don’t know if it’s still on. We were just talking today that we don’t watch too much tv right now. The shows we watch aren’t on and we don’t know when they will be back. I like to scrapbook ( anyone else here scrapbook?) and sometimes i have hgtv on then.

I used to scrapbook a lot and really enjoyed it. But then I started working more, got behind and a little overwhelmed, and kind of drifted out of the hobby. I think I should definitely take it back up this summer!

Supermarket sweep, press your luck, let’s make a deal. All classics
Today - we’ve been watching “Holy Moley” on abc on Thursday nights this summer. It’s a putt putt golf contest. Kids love the funny holes and stunts. I get a kick out of the two ESPN like announcers

Thoughts with all of you having crazy extend family issues, I’ve been there. A quiet walk in the early morning or cup of tea have helped my tremendously

Bought some rhubarb today! Will spend some time this week finding "just" the right recipe and would appreciate any that posters would like to share. The strawberries are here already:).

Grabbed the last of the roasted chicken meat out of the freezer and made the man a chicken pot pie filling served atop egg noodles. I'm not a good pastry maker so skip the pie crust whenever possible. I'm having an avocado stuffed with curried chicken salad for dinner. The man seems more amenable to dessert tonight so a ramekin of lemon and strawberry custard is waiting for him. He went to the doctor today and got a great bill of health so why not:). I'm having cherries and watermelon instead.
DGD starts her finals this week so we've been practice testing together online for the last week or so. I think she's as ready as she'll ever be so we spent apart of the day playing "Wordtwist" remotely. I'm still winning in points but better crow about that while I can. Her vocabulary and spelling has really expanded in the last few months .

Gosh, I really only do paper crafts for specific holidays now. Gave/sold a lot of my paper craft tools away when we moved. I admire the finished projects others do but just haven't the space to do multiple hobbies anymore. Would love to see examples of your art:).

Sparkle, I used to enjoy mini golf as a kid. I actually thought it would be fun to help design at Disney based mini golf course :) Hug, glad to hear you found some morning peace.

Nycgrrl, thanks for sharing good news on your husband. Glad you are enjoying a celebratory treat. Prayers for your grand daughter on her finals :)

I wish GSN would air more classic game shows especially right now!

Here it has been HOT today! So enormously thankful for A/C!

Also thankful this Tuesday for:

Clean laundry and extra groceries

A nice chat with two (a couple) dear church friends who are elderly. Praying for them both extra as the husband has surgery tomorrow morning.

A very sweet text from a friend and postcard in the mail from another.

Shoes, I am a barefoot, flip flop kind of gal.
I like my Sketchers mule tennis shoe

I do have winter boots.

Game shows: Beat Shazam, I liked Wipe out when it was on.

Wipeout was amazing.

Have you tried watching Holey Moley? It's Wipeout, but with miniature golf. And Rob Riggle.

ultimate Tag is another new show; apparently there is are professional tag players.

We enjoy Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
We also like Top Chef and Amazing Race.
Since we're on the subject of TV viewing, I want to mention another show on Netflix.
We love Somebody Feed Phil. He explores various countries and cities around the world. The emphasis is on local food. Interesting, fun and sometimes thoughtful.

Decided to get back into the swing of things regarding my regular exercise routine. The staircase walking was getting monotonous so I slacked off of it for too many weeks and now have a too much like the Michelin Man look to me, LOL.

Not interested in buying a size me up bathing suit so began this morning with a vengeance of purer thoughts. Did my staircase walking, had some tea, and then back outside to power walk in the neighborhood. The air felt and smelt so fresh and clean!
Home again probably for the day and resting up a bit before beginning the mundane chores of housecleaning.

Missed another day. Yesterday was DH's birthday and the joke is that he celebrates like it a national holiday and everyone else should too. Seeing as going out to eat was iffy, I fixed him an omelet, sausage and bagel for breakfast while I had yogurt and fruit. Then we headed to the beach in DE which now allows us out of staters. I packed myself a sandwich and we stopped at Wawa for a sub for DH. This was after we stopped at Dunkin for a coffee and donut for him. I just can't eat like that anymore. We had a picnic at some nice tables in the shade then biked 10 miles to Rehoboth and back. Saw some birds I couldn't identify so sent a picture to DS and DIL, my bird watchers. They identified as American Avocet which is quite rare in this area. So that was cool. Back at the ocean state park we sat on the beach for 2 hours. DH enjoyed a nap. It got quite windy and we left the beach about 5:30. It was beautiful and pretty busy. On the way home we went to Crooked Hammock (in Middletown) for dinner - AT A RESTAURANT. It had outdoor seating and DE had strict requirements that they followed. It was quite enjoyable. All in all a really fun day that we both enjoyed.

And, we talked to DS. He has his days off back and is working regular 8 hour days. He said things are calming down and getting back to normal in DC. What a relief.

@NYCgrrl, sounds like you had a great day on Sunday. I think I would enjoy that walkway over the river.

But there's also the issue that I don't believe my mother has ever liked me. She told me when I was about 7 or 8 years old that she would have had a much better life if she hadn't had me. She's also said that it's my fault that she married my father and that ruined her life.
This is so sad. I am sorry you lived with this. Sounds like a bad novel.

Looks like I’m the first one up this morning, so I’ll pose today’s question (6/9):

Do you watch game shows? And if you do, which is your favorite?
I don't watch any regularly but look at Jeopardy or Cash Cab when working in the kitchen. I do like Holy Moley but not sure it's a game show. I guess if @sparkle78 thinks it is, that's good enough for me.

Re:Supermarket Sweep, I remember the name but not how it was played. Anyone watch Guy's Grocery Games on Food Network? At the end is a part that reminds me of Supermarket Sweep. I like of lot of the Food Network challenge shows.

I love those Food Network cooking championships! One of the guys who was on two of them (halloween gingerbread house and ???) has a shop 45 minutes down the road, and does custom wedding cakes. Can't wait till one of my kids gets married to get a cake from him haha!!
Who is that and where? DD's wedding cake was from Desserts by Dana.

Here is the guy - started out in Denton and now he has his shop in Easton, MD

we went to Crooked Hammock (in Middletown) for dinner

Ack! we keep tripping over each other ha ha!!! I was up at the Home Depot behind the Crooked Hammock late yesterday afternoon. What did you think of it? We went late last year and were underwhelmed...

@easyas123 We enjoyed it. We had been to the one in Lewes twice and like it. Yesterday with having to have reservations, we couldn't get a suitable time at Lewes so went to Middletown. Lots of outdoor space. I enjoy the beer and my food was good. It is right around the corner from DD who lives behind the Amish Market.

It's hot out, that kinda delightfully unbearable heat and humidity. I put the pups out this morning for a few hours, then popped home at 10:30 so they could hang out in the house for the rest of the afternoon. I'm hoping we might get a t-storm this evening. I love a good storm.
We are in the midst of about a 2 week stint (happens each June) of these nasty biting flies, which really fouls up sitting outside by the garden. Hopefully they clear out in the next week or so. We still go outside - I keep horse fly spray/roll on for the for the dogs, and we walk around with dryer sheets clipped to our hats. It helps, but they are really a pain at times. Plus I keep smelling laundry soap-
Trying to think of something to do for Fathers Day next weekend, except my husband may be going up to put up hay at his uncles farm in far western MD, so we can't plan anything just yet, which I hate cause I like to plan.
Dinner this evening will be grilled venison, roasted tomatoes and potatoes and some watermelon if we get to it.
