Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning, dear friends:grouphug:

For here, it's still too cold for me! I continue to extra pray for those of you in true winter to please stay warm and well. I just got a call back from Dr Y's, the podiatrist, office. A virtual visit if my insurance doesn't cover it would START at $195:scared1:To be fair, Dr. Y did call me twice for free already in the past. M her receptionist and I left it as I will get back to her and with more insurance information. I'm in the same predicament. A specialist needs a doctor's referral through insurance. I need to find a covered doctor which I will work on shortly who would refer virtually. Prayers appreciated. Monday by God's Grace will be week 7 of 8! I have because of Him come so far indeed. Dad's help is still needed for me to get up from chair. I do have twinges at times but overall, wow, I indeed am beyond blessed! Need to rebuild my strength, Thank you all of course always for all your extra support, love, and prayers.

Snowysmom:hug:enjoy your lunch with co-workers next week! It has sounded as though you are blessed to have some nice ones and how blessed they are to have you, of course! Hooray for happy pooh:memories and may Kenny's kids have a lot of fun tomorrow, too :)

Pea:hug:and thank you always for your wise and kind compassion, sharing. Extra hug on memories of your mom--good for her though! Thank you so much for thinking of me with the nativity, it is lovely. Glitter inside a snow globe fine as long as it doesn't escape! I do wish there were some animals but also so appreciate the simplicity and what matters--the Holy Family. As a p.s. God Bless your son. I might have been character shy so young, too! I honestly don't remember.

PollyannaMom:hug:how special and neat that your DS saw deer, I would have loved that. Blessing indeed. I'm also so glad your son enjoyed pinewood derby's, too. I sure never did anything like that as a kid--sounds fun :)

Easyas :hug:enjoy every donut bite my friend! Please definitely take care to stay safe and warm.

Lynn:hug:and feel better prayers! You for sure stay warm, well, have some cocoa, and be cozy and good to yourself!

JMA0920, hug to you as well, good to see you back. God Bless you for teaching for so long. Thank you for making a kind difference to so many kids over those long years!

Have a great day friends. I will come back later.

I couldnt get into my old account so I had to make a new one! Yes, that little one is now 3 years old, believe it or not! I was telling my husband about that! That was probably almost 20 years ago!!

Still teaching - in my 17th year and still love the Cowboys ...even when they drive me crazy! Can you believe I will be 40!?How is your family??
Hi again, Jen. 3 years old!! :faint: 17 years!! :faint: 40 years!! :faint: Geesh, time does indeed fly. And yeah, that WDW trip was probably 20 years ago, you're right.

And the Cowboys!! :scratchin How about the Bears? :duck:

If you would like your Blueteyes name back, Jen, contact Webmaster Corey at corey@disneyinfo.com Explain what the issue is and I bet he will be able to help you..

For us, we're all doing well. Just getting older, haha Griffin, our 12 year old grandson (hand on his head in signature photo below) had emergency appendectomy today. All went well, may go home today. Amazing.

Get ready for that cruise, Jen.

Yikes! Best wishes for an easy recovery.
Thanks much for your good wishes, @PollyannaMom. and Mona

Vince and his wife took Griffin to the ER early this morning. He had a laparoscopic appendectomy late morning and went home late afternoon. He is doing quite well, having an understandably sore belly and a little punked out. Otherwise, doing okay. Thanks again.

Good chilly morning. I feel like I'm in Groundhog Day. Every morning I wake up and there's more snow to clean. We had another inch or so last night. I just finished clearing it up so the sun can finish it up. It wasn't supposed to snow again. It's cold and windy. We're 16, feels like 5, and we're going to 20. Then we start warming up, by the middle of the week we're supposed to be 55 with rain.

I had a nice surprise yesterday. My phone rang and it was Dave. I thought he was calling about coming to put up the live edge shelves. He just wanted to see how I was doing and talk for awhile. He asked me if I would like to go out to dinner last night. He picked me up and we went to the Chinese buffet. They weren't busy at all because of the cold. We sat and ate and talked for about an hour and a half. He was telling me stories and making me laugh out loud. It was a nice change from a dinner alone in front of the tv, and I thought it was very nice of him. When he dropped me off, it had gotten colder and what little that had melted yesterday had started to freeze and the roads were getting click. Sand trucks came out a little later.

Summer called me at 10 to ask me why it was snowing. Do I look like the weatherman? How do I know, lol.
I forgot to turn my phone down last night and I got a text at 4 am. My sister in law. In honor of her late husbands birthday today, she sends me a link to a site that tells you how to grieve properly? Really, at 4 am? I am grieving the way I need to and want to, not the way someone else tells me. I know she means well, but she has to stop doing stuff like this. I didn't look at the text till I got up this morning and then I deleted it without even looking at the link.

Off to strip the bed, do some laundry and clean the bathrooms.

Have a great Saturday

Dan Hope Griffin has a quick recovery.
Lynn Hope you are doing better today. Maybe you need another rest day just to be sure. :daisy:

Bobbiwoz Love the T shirt.

So cold here this morning, 11 degrees and not getting out of the teens. I went to the gym yesterday just to try out the treadmill. It was hard as the last time I went to the gym just to exercise Chris was on the treadmill next to me. I did last 20 minutes before having to leave so that was something. Next time I am going to try to do the exercise bike. I went to Wegman's early this morning and saw the most lovely sky from the back parking lot there. Wegman's is on a hill overlooking Kenny's town. As I was taking a picture another woman stopped to take one too. I have cleaned the bathrooms and heading out to Target soon. I am looking for Valentine books for the grandkids to put in their Valentine bags along with some candy and snacks.

Have a good Saturday.

Lynn Just saw your post. A text at 4am? Yikes! There is no "right" way to grieve. You do what is right for you. Our society does not do grief well. A family member sent me a book right after Chris passed on how to grieve for your spouse. I read a few pages and tossed it. Dave is so kind to see how you are doing. It sounds like you had a nice dinner. We were supposed to have snow showers yesterday but they went south of us. I am not complaining.

Sun came out, but it's still cold. 19 and feels like 8. It snowed a bit more but didn't stick. I just went out to feed the cats and put water out. I've done it like 10 times today, it keeps freezing within an hour. I did my chores, and just finished doing our taxes. They said if someone passed away before filing, just file as normal for this year and next year just do it as single, so that's what I did. Since it's SS only, MD doesn't tax it, so I don't pay anything, and don't get anything back. Works for me.

Have to find something for dinner, even though I'm not very hungry.

Have a nice rest of the afternoon and evening.

Good morning. 10 degrees here so far. It is supposed to get into the 20s. Yesterday we had some snow showers later in the day. I ended up going out again yesterday afternoon to look around in a couple of stores. A store where I used to get discount cards and wrapping paper is closing. So I tried Dollar Tree yesterday and got some Valentine cards for the grandkids. Can't beat 50 cents per card. This will probably be the last holiday I get them cards as they just throw them aside and go for the good stuff. I will just get them birthday cards. I refuse to pay $5 or $6 for a small card. I got them books at Target so their Valentine bags are all set to go. Kenny and his kids had a good time at the pinewood derby. No prizes but they had fun making the cars and racing them. Today I am going to Jeff's to see the kids. I miss them as I have not seen them since the end of December. They have busy lives.

Have a good Sunday.

Ooh, we were on page 2! :p

Good morning! Freakin freezing again! Ugh! We also got a little snow. I picked up my little lightweight leaf blower yesterday which has a 135 mph wind so it will blow light snow away. Going to try it out this morning. I have to learn how to hold it so it doesn’t hurt my arm, probably with two hands. Looking forward to having it to blow leaves off my porch and walkways when the weather gets nice.

Wound up having pastrami sandwiches last night. I thought we’d just buy some pastrami and make it but DS wanted to order the sandwich he likes at a local place (says it would be on his ’execution meal’ list, lol), so we did. The pastrami wasn’t as good as the way we make it, and too salty being roasted and not boiled. so I still have half left in the fridge. (DH will probably take it to work tomorrow.) DD went out on a first date last night (which went well!) so we held off on the turkey dinner until today. We are thinking about making breakfast this morning since everyone is home.

DS had another trip to the ER after being attacked by a patient. I hate getting those calls when I’m at work that someone is hurt. 😣 This time he was injured, bloody and bruised, and will likely have a nice scar. He is also filing charges this time. I read an article the other day about the increase in assaults on health care workers and noticed many of the commenters blamed the workers. If that type of thinking continues we will have no health care workers left soon. We also had some serious assaults where I work this week as well. It can be quite traumatic to the person assaulted. No one has the right to attack anyone else, especially when those people are trying to help.

My last shift was very busy with a very sick young man who I knew from a couple of weeks ago. He was glad to see me when I walked in, and vice versa. At any rate I never had time to stop to eat, every time I thought I was caught up they ordered something else for him that I had to do, and none of that is simple. So I never had a break in 12.5 hours and wound up eating my sandwich on the ride home, the first thing I’d eaten since earlier in the day, at home. It was six hours into the shift, too, before I got a chance to go to the bathroom. Was glad it was just one shift and not three in a row. My coworkers were just as busy. (If anyone is inclined, I’m sure he’d appreciate prayers.)

Well I hope everyone has a nice and quiet Sunday. Stay warm! 🐥

Another frigid cold morning. The winds are making it worse. We'll only hit low 20's again today. I can't wait for tomorrow when we get into the 40's.

@Pea-n-Me That is terrible about your son. No one should have to work under those circumstances. I know patients are stressed, but there's no need for violence. I'm glad that he is going to file charges. People have to learn that there are consequences to their actions.

Not a lot on my agenda today. I've caught up on most of my shows, the house is as clean as it needs to be, and for the most part I'm just bored these days. I miss being able to go outside and walk around the yard and the neighborhood, but it's just too cold to be enjoyable.

Have a nice Sunday

Oh dear Pea  your poor son! Sounds like he needs a new work location sooner than asap! Everyone needs to feel secure at work especially those in healthcare! I am so sorry. Prayers indeed.

Lynn and Snowysmom too, Dazed, extra ❤️There indeed is no "right way," to do anything other than be kind, you just are! Grief to me is even extra an individual journey. I am so sorry both of you experienced otherwise:sad1:

Semi related to the above, as I may have shared before, is being told in general how you, "should,"or "must," you get the unhelpful idea, feel. I sadly was in that situation a lot especially as a kid. Not fun. Then there's the pet peeve of mine of someone sharing in a conversation, what "one," could say or "thinks," etc. I am blessed to know what YOU think and are experiencing NOT a made up "One." :P

Loving warm prayers to all.
