Summer just texted me that surgery is cancelled. Her primary insurance wouldn't approve it. She knew that, she had gotten a letter. She called them the same day and told them to send it to her secondary insurance, which is state insurance. The secondary just needs a denial from the other insurance. But the primary waited until today to send it to the secondary, so they had to cancel tomorrow's surgery. But the issue now is her Dr only does them 1 day a week since it's major surgery. It took her 2 months to get her scheduled the first time, so who knows how long she'll have to wait now.

That’s so frustrating! What was she having done again?

Ugh that whole Hurry up & Wait situation is infuriating. She must be - rightfully so, ticked off. Fingers crossed she can get back on the schedule sooner rather than later.

Going to get some snow tomorrow, 2"'s, maybe maybe 3".

I've got little to nothing accomplished today. I need to be a lot more productive tomorrow.

Good Chilly afternoon.

We are getting snow tomorrow, how much is anybody's guess. The one consistent total is at least 2 inches. The total is anywhere from 4-8 inches. I am hoping for 4.

Thankfully I have figured out my pups issues and she has peed AND pooed today. We go back to square one tomorrow. I need to dig out my neighbor's grass strip and she will go there.

Bad news - my dad fractured his pelvis, and a piece of bone broke off also. They don't think he will need surgery, but he is in the hospital for around 3 weeks again. He cannot walk right now. Of course, with snow coming he will be in there alone as we won't be able to get out to visit him. I just keep thinking about my grandmother. She broke her hip at dad's age and then had a massive stroke. I know he is going to be 88 this year so I have been blessed to have him this long, I am just a tad bit selfish and would like him to be here longer, maybe to 100 or more.

Anthony saw the orthopedic surgeon and thankfully the recovery will be shorter, but the operation will be harder, longer and the recovery more painful. The best option is to use a piece of the patella tendon to repair the tear. They feel it's his best option for recovery and a lesser chance of reinjury. His growth plates aren't completely closed so there is a risk of damaging them, but the surgeon thinks the risk is worth it since he is about 98-99% done growing. I just want him to be able to get back to what he loves - playing baseball. Of course, I love watching him play.

@lynxstch - Hope they can straighten out the insurance for Summer and get her in soon.

Not much else going on around here. Hope anyone in the path of the upcoming storm stays safe.

Thoughts and prayers for all.

Tazdev Hope your Dad has a good recovery and all goes well.

Lynn Hope Summer can get things straightened out. Insurance companies just don't care.

Just a quick hello. Tired today after my early morning drive to the office, working, coming back, working again, and then doing errands. We are supposed to get show showers tomorrow with around an inch overall. I hope that is it.

Have a good evening.

Circling back to Winnie the Pooh Day. Pooh Bear has been one of my fav characters as well. I can remember way back when watching the Walt Disney show on Sundays right after Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and hoping for a Pooh Bear cartoon.

I picked out a Pooh Bear plush after when we knew our now DS18 was coming into our lives. Still have it. I also picked up a P.B. pillow at DL last year that sits between a multitude of Red Sox pillows in the man cave.

Spaceman Great Winnie the Pooh Story. I remember my boys at Crystal Palace seeing Winnie the Pooh. We have such great pictures. Red Sox pillows too. That's great.

Tazdev Thinking of your Dad and hope he is doing better.

It is a cold one this morning, 18 degrees. Snow showers show up around 2 per my phone forecast. I hope to get tot he gym to try out some machines for the first time. Then I want to get something for dinner but not sure what. Decisions are not my best thing right now so even deciding what to eat can be a challenge.

We are having our annual lunch at work next week, just for our dept. It is nice to see everyone as only a few of us actually go to the office.

Kenny's kids are doing the pinewood derby tomorrow for cub scouts. They painted their vehicles when I was there on Wed. Interesting colors.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Hysterectomy
Ah! I hope it gets scheduled soon. The week-by-week post operative videos on HysterSisters are what saved me with mine, would’ve been lost without them. Please share these with Summer for me. She shouldn’t try to do too much, too early, or adhesions can form. That’s the important thing. Then you wind up with pain again from those.

I remember a kids’ birthday dinner at Crystal Palace. Kids were dressed in their Halloween costumes. At the end of the meal they brought them a cupcake and somehow there were cards for the characters to sign (I might’ve brought them, can’t remember). Well DD was kneeling on the seat interacting with the characters and DS had his head on the table hiding under the card, lol. He was always so shy with them! For their 5th bday I remember being at the castle and DS dove under the table when the princesses came over to sing HB to them. I have pics of Snow White trying to talk to him under there. Poor kid, characters just weren’t his thing. I mean, he was very interested in them, he just didn’t love interacting with them. That same castle day we were over in Adventureland and DS was dressed as a pirate. Captain Hook (and Mr Smee) spotted him and came over to him. I thought he would freak! But he stood there, slack jawed, while Captain Hook moved DS’s ‘hook’ from one hand to the other, then waved and walked away. We still laugh about that.

Speaking of pictures, Mona, I spotted a little nativity in a globe the other day. I almost bought it for you but it only had Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, no other figurines, and it did have glitter (but only if you shook it). Would you have liked this? I thought it was really nice.

Sorry to hear about your Dad, taz. I had the same feelings when Mom broke her hip just going to sit on the toilet. She was 93 then, and they said she wouldn’t walk again without surgery. She said, “Well I want to walk again!” so off we went in an ambulance to the (my) hospital. She did really well with it and the surgeons at her six week check were pretty surprised she was bombing along. Unfortunately we learned her cancer had spread while all that was going on. It’s hard when they get to that age. Sending prayers for Dad, and for Anthony.

Boy, it is horribly cold out and chilly in the house! I suppose I could turn the heat up, but then it gets hot. 😬 I was waiting for these to go on sale but they haven’t. I think I’m still going to pick one up. Been eyeing it since fall. https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/126...157&feat=1157-GN3&csp=f&attrValue_0=459&pos=3

Update on the turkey dinner. I did an online grocery order yesterday and got all the fixings for another this weekend. The lady doing the order must’ve texted me eight times with they didn’t have this and they were out of that, etc. 😬 The last text was they’re out of turkey breasts! I’m like, omg, I planned a whole meal around that! She said, “Do you want a chicken?” No, I don’t want a chicken! So now we’ll have to go somewhere else to get a turkey. But we will make it this weekend and I can’t wait! I have just one upcoming shift and then I’m off for the weekend.

Wishing everyone a good Friday! 🐥

Oh, I remember DS doing those! He has trophies somewhere. :goodvibes

Definitely cold here, but I don't have to be anywhere today, so I'll get some chores done in the house.

DS says he saw deer in our backyard last night 🦌🦌🦌

Bad news - my dad fractured his pelvis, and a piece of bone broke off also. They don't think he will need surgery, but he is in the hospital for around 3 weeks again.
I'm so sorry to read this. I hope he has a speedy and comfortable recovery.
Speaking of pictures, Mona, I spotted a little nativity in a globe the other day
Speaking of Nativities....I saw something yesterday that sorely tempted me! A Nativity and all the figures were Bull Terriers (we have a BT - or as everyone insists on saying "oh! it's a Target dog!").
Update on the turkey dinner.
Update on mine: Haven't gotten to the store yet. AND one of the boys is coming over for a experimental dinner on Sunday so if I can't find a fresh turkey/breast to make tomorrow I may need to wait a while since I'm traveling for work early next week, and headed for FL next weekend.

Good morning everyone.
Snow here, I guess we are getting a couple of inches. Dogs home from school, I left them watching LOTR. It's one of those mornings where I wish I had gone to Dunkin and grabbed some doughnuts or something - got a sweet tooth! Maybe I'll indulge in a second cup of coffee.

Not much going on this weekend. I need to hit the grocery store. It's time to empty & refill the hot tub, so I'll do that tomorrow morning so it's warmed back up to use for tomorrow evening. When we purchased our hot tub a few years ago I knew we'd use it, but I never thought we'd use it as much as we do. We are really getting our $$$ worth out of it.
I've got some cleaning up to do around the house as well - but other than that I don't have much on my agenda this weekend.

Good morning. Woke up to 2" of snow. It's still coming down but not accumulating anymore. I started with a cold yesterday and it's almost full blown today. I didn't appreciate having to go out and shovel again, at least it was light snow. I even shoveled 3 feet out from the street in, so when the plow came by for the 5'th time, there was nothing he could push back into my driveway. I know winter just started, but I can't wait for it to be over.
And of course because I don't feel good, one cat had an accident in one of the cat beds and I had to clean that and throw the bed in the washer. Another cat knocked my glass of juice over and I had to get the cleaning machine out and take care of where it hit the carpet. I'm ready to lock them all in one room and leave them there for a day, lol

I don't plan on doing anything today. I ache all over, my nose is running and my throat is still scratchy. I'm going to do nothing but write, watch tv and rest. If it snows more, it's going to sit there, I'm not going out again. Temp is 28 and it's supposed to go up to 31.

@Pea-n-Me Thank you for the links for Summer, I'm saving them until they reschedule her surgery and then I'll send them to her. If I send them now, she'll just forget about them, or lose them

@tazdev3225 Prayers for your Dad's recovery. They say things come in 3's, but I think you've gone way past that lately :(

Have a nice Friday.

Good morning. We had light snow starting last night around 8. It was very light and the prettiest snow. I swept off the deck and ramp before I went to bed. There was maybe 1/2" at the most when I went to bed, but the plows had already come down the road at least 3x. They kept it up all night. We ended up with about 1 1/2". I shoveled it just to keep the driveway clear and did the rest of what I normally shovel.. The plow came by again while I was shoveling the driveway, he waved and pulled his blade up till he went by me. Finally he got the message to stop plowing so close to the storm drains.
I expected to find all the cats waiting for breakfast this morning. 3 were on the front porch, and none out back. One of the rabbits was sitting on the deck waiting for me instead, lol. This one loves Cheerio's so I put some in a bowl and mixed in a little rabbit food and it cleaned the entire bowl. The other 3 outside ones appeared as soon as I had finished shoveling. I'm going to make my grocery list for tomorrow, and then take the trash down to the street.

Welcome to our little thread @JMA0920 :welcome: Dan doesn't post on here often, but we always love seeing new people joining us. We are a friendly bunch who talk about anything and everything, so stop by whenever you want.

Prayers and hugs for all of those who need them-have a nice day
Thank you! I used to be on here all of the time and couldn't get into my old account!

Jen, how the heck are you!?!? Great to see you again. How come the new screen name, are you in the Witness Protection Program? Last time you were here and I 'saw' you, I think I was congratulating you on expecting a new baby at home.

I always recall riding the Carousel with you and a few other folks from the dis, so many years ago. A fun evening. Still a Cowboys fan? Still teaching?

Thanks for the tag, Jen, glad to see you. Congratulations and an early Happy Birthday wish for your 40th (geesh, time flies :faint: ) Have a great cruise and then a great Disney trip later in the year.
I couldnt get into my old account so I had to make a new one! Yes, that little one is now 3 years old, believe it or not! I was telling my husband about that! That was probably almost 20 years ago!!

Still teaching - in my 17th year and still love the Cowboys ...even when they drive me crazy! Can you believe I will be 40!?How is your family??
