Good Morning, All!

The sky is leaden in colour everywhere but the far end of horizon which I guess is Jersey. Glad they have better weather . Yesterday was a day to try my patience a bit yet also made me whoop with laughter. My health attendant was going to the market and asked if I needed anything. Decided that turkey necks would add beautiful flavor to the next batch of turkey stock. Asked her to get 3 if they had any. Comes back from shopping and hands me the receipt. She bought 3 packs of pork necks (WTW?!?). When I pointed out the discrepancy, she asked me if I ate pork.
Oy vey.
In her defense she knows little about cooking (she told me I could get a whole fried turkey @ Popeye’s. Thud) but being who I am I began to visualize flying pigs outpacing turkeys to escape the November slaughter. This morning the saga will continue as she attempts to return the pork necks. I’m still reading back posts and as a thread marker am on page 1279.

Happy Friday Eve!

Weather was great while it lasted but we're back to a gloomy day today and then a drop in the temperature . Guess I'll close my windows again.

NYCgrrl - I would have laughed at your post about your attendant but I would be the same way. I still text my sisters asking them what something is, do I really need it for the recipe, and where will I find in at the store . I am not a cook! I came home from the grocery store one night after I got married and I was in a bad mood. I told my husband that I couldn't find the vanilla brownie mix and the worker was no help . My husband just shook his head at me.

I bought a firestick for my TV, I was getting tired of watching shows on my phone. I only have a few streaming services so I didn't think it was that big of a deal but I've been watching a lot of shows on the streaming channels . Anyway, it came in the mail yesterday and I had no clue how to hook it up. Evan called me and walked me through plugging everything in and luckily Mitchell was going past my house on his way home from work so he stopped and programmed everything for me. He rode his motorcycle so I made him leave before it got dark out so I finished up the programming (wasn't much). Everything works now, I was able to watch my YouTube vloggers for yesterday's videos.

Watched Survivor, kinda bummed with one of the people who was sent home . Tonight when I get home I can watch The Amazing Race and the CMA Awards that were on last night. I'm going to treat myself to Chipotle for dinner and drop off a bag of dog food at the dog groomer by my house. They collect pet supplies to donate to a local shelter.

I'm off work tomorrow, have a dentist appoint, a dr. appointment and I have to pick up my shirt and race # for the DAV (disable american veterans) 5K on Saturday . I can't do the actually 5K since it's the same day as Mia's party so I'll do it on Sunday.

I am laughing a lot as I just read some stuff somewhere on the internet about people complaining their cooking didn't come out right. The key points were a whole lot of substitutions that didn't do the recipes any good!

I always roast that turkey neck and save it to flavor something else. Pork just doesn't have the same effect, not to mention that some don't eat it.

I'm sure the Popeye's turkey will be good, but certainly not on my radar for TG.

Both his kidney and liver functions were a tiny bit better today, but nothing to get excited about. The outcome is still going to be the same. I had a DNR/DNI put on his chart today. I don't want him being put through anything more than necessary.
The chaplain came in again this afternoon to pray. Libi, his boss came in again. This was a weird one. Summer asked me this morning if I would mind if Mary (Don's ex wife) came in and had 5 private minutes with him. I never heard of such a thing, but I said as long as she didn't upset him or say the word 'goodbye', I didn't have a problem with it. She lost her husband about 3 years ago to cancer, and I figured since she was married to Don for 20 years, she might need some closure. She came up and fell apart in the hall before she got to the nurses station. Then she went in and spent 10 min and when she came out she hugged me and thanked me for letting her see him in private. Whatever people need is what they need, I'm good with it
I'm at peace with my decisions, I'm doing what I feel he wanted and what's best for him. That's all I can do at this time.

I managed to get to the grocery store for mostly cat stuff, and the prices are all up again. It's getting crazy. I put everything away, fed the cats, folded a basket of laundry I washed last night. Did a load of dishes and am trying to find something to eat for dinner. Then it's going to be Survivor and bed for me.

Following along here I would say that you will not have to second guess any decisions you have made. And it may seem strange but I do hug my ex and my ex's 3rd wife whenever we meet, which isn't often. I never see the 2nd one and hope she's well. That was one confused soul. It's all water under the bridge. Life is too short.

The cat stuff is definitely expensive. I'm watching for any Target offer that will get me a discount plus saving my Target Circle earnings to help it out. At least they have a variety. They usually offer a gift card at 10% off around BF. Feeding Friskies is tricky because big guy (15yo male) just wants to lick the juice off unless it's a pate. Had to pass on the Sam's Club pack because too much gets wasted.

I caught a link for 30% off on $100 of pet food at Amazon not long ago. I was able to get Friskies and Fancy Feast.

I would appreciate some extra Quacker familyI am feeling frustrated by run-a-around. Not finding yet the solution I need. In all, I pray to be giving God strong, joyful service and thanksgiving. I absolutely know He has this and me always. How blessed I am. Dad prayers also as I sure feel badly more is on him right now with me out of commission. Nighttime for me is always so hard especially when I need to get up for the bathroom. Thanks everyone and may all of us get some good rest tonight with sweet dreams.

I can't sleep so I'll be the first one to say good morning. It's pitch black outside. Daybreak is a few hours awake. I've tried to sleep and just can't shut my mind off so I got up and did a little retail therapy and bought a new tv. I don't know why, since I've only watched about 2 hours of it all week.

They did an EEG last night, but didn't have the results the last time I called, so I'll wait till 7 and then catch them before shift change

Lynn Continuing prayers for you. You know the right decisions to make in your heart. It was kind of you to allow Don's ex to come in to see him. I wish for calm, peace, and love for you and your family. I did smile when you said you bought a new TV. And prices are going up again everywhere for just about everything. Please take care of yourself the best you can.

Mona I am sorry you are getting so frustrated with the your issues. It is hard when people don't do what is expected of them. I hope you get some info today that helps you.

Good morning. I am off work today as I need to use PTO yet again. I don't like having to take a day off here and there as I usually have nothing to do. Today I am going grocery shopping at Market Basket as at 7 on a Friday it should not be too busy, do some Christmas shopping at Target as I have all the grandkids' clothing sizes, and then I need to find a desk lamp as I could use some extra light when I work. Then I pick up Kenny's kids at the bus. I am still fighting this cold. Yesterday I had to stop and just chill out after I came back from work. I was so tired and coughing. No walks yesterday as it was cold and drizzly all day. Plus I just did not have the energy.

Lynn, I'm so sorry you aren't able to rest, but I completely understand. It's hard putting those orders in writing, even though it's the right thing to do. And I think letting Mary visit was the right thing as well.

DS and I are still in Florida for a couple more days. We got to see my Aunt's new place yesterday. It's cute (except maybe for one or two color choices, but she has painting planned .) Today we're driving over to visit someone a bit farther away.

Busy day yesterday, DD and I went with DS for a required occupational medical exam about an hour from us, then met a friend whose husband is in that profession for lunch, which provided DS with some great and helpful information. About to start a work stretch now over the weekend. I’ll still be following along, but Lynn, I’ll make special time for anything you need if I can help.

Beautiful morning, All!
Its another day with all the challenges it brings.
Sky is still grey but I refuse to allow it to color my day.
Good music and headphones go a long way.

Lovely 2:00 AM call from the Gruesome Twosome, Younger son and DGD (they know when I get up).
Glad they opted for a conference call but said no to FaceTime; use your imagination at that time of day cuz the reality is just not right, LOL.
Able to narrow down their holiday treat now to do some research to make it happen. DGD dropped out of the call first giving son and I time to talk about his Dad in private. I’m really proud of his current level of maturity because tbh worried he could be a “whiney baby” for his adult life. Guess some people need more time to grow up.

@lynxstch I’m up to date now. Every day truly is different. Keep faith in yourself and listen to your inner core. You’re doing well and I’m convinced will continue too. Years of life with Don kept you attuned to his way of thinking as yours does for him. Soft s on this life journey.

Thank you all for your extra love and prayers always. It is frustrating. It's also plain hard I admit as a human to be hurting daily. I know the longer this goes on the longer it is prolonged (set in soreness) so it has to be nipped in the bud, it must be! Try more calls shortly.
