Dad is safely home thank God. I felt so badly for him this morning. What a horrible experience he had at Walmart. Long story short is don't ever order a from Walmart online! Dad first looked to see what phones the store did have, they didn't. He then attempted to get the phone we received yesterday scanned so it could be used. Walmart online is separate from Walmart in store. a manager wasn't even able to do anything for him! Dad, thank God, did get his back!

It looks like Best Buy no longer sells Verizon prepaid phones. Target only seems to offer Total by Verizon which isn't the same thing. We keep looking!

I am praying my poor turn a corner asap! Dad's, too. This is for sure no fun at all

Traffic’s similar for us too, Snowysmom. Believe it or not, I have to leave my house 90 minutes before the start of my shift in order to get there on time, mainly due to heavy and congested traffic. (And despite that, I was still a few minutes late on at least two occasions in the past couple of weeks! ) It’s so annoying! I really look forward to not having to do that some day. Coming home is the same. Between time on the road and 12 (closer to 13) hour shifts, it makes for very long work days with little sleep/little time for much else on those days. Add to that we had a visitor with a weapon this week, and everyone seemingly on edge due to local and world events, and it’s just .

Anyone else notice people are just especially irritable lately?

I am sick over the events in Israel, and worried how they will impact the rest of the world. I was just watching a law enforcement official on our local news and they are saying that [due to calls for further uprising globally] we all need to keep a watchful eye out wherever we go in the coming days, staying aware of our surroundings and making sure we have an exit. Wonderful. So sad it has come to this. I really worry what kind of world we’re leaving for our children and grandchildren.

Tired tonight. DH made us grilled cheese and tomato soup. Comfort food. DD made a french onion pasta yesterday. It wasn’t one of my favorites, but I appreciated that she shopped and cooked now that she has time. DS was spit on the other night, so he got bloody spit in his eye (and on his arm). Nice to get that right in your face, yeah. He was sent to the ER and had to get a tetanus shot and bloodwork, and the lovely patient who did that to him also had to get bloodwork and checked for communicable diseases. DS had the option of taking anti-virals [which they said would be hard on his liver and kidneys] if he came back positive. Needless to say, DS was pretty upset about it. So when he heard about the visitor with a weapon on my unit, he made me promise to review safety with staff and security again, which I did. Good thing, they’d changed shifts and weren’t even aware! Needless to say, I didn’t feel particularly safe. We shouldn’t have to feel that way while doing our job.

Sorry, not a very cheery post tonight. It’s just where my head is. Have a good rest of the evening.

PS Mona, I think it’s time you see your PCP about your feet. Something’s not right. I don’t think that this is something that shoes or epsom salts are going to fix, unfortunately. You may need a referral to a rheumatologist for immunological studies. I know you don’t want to go down that path, but it would probably be best to get a handle on this before it gets worse. Our feet are more important than we often realize!

Dad will be seeing his primary in another week or so. God willing my feet are much better by then. Dad, otherwise, will absolutely ask his own doctor for an extra referral. @Pea-n-Me I am so sorry your DS had such a terrible thing happen. People are getting very angry. I think the world is getting to be a very crazy, hurtful, angry place. The other day I was driving and went around someone who it looked like was turning left as he was behind a car turning left. He honked furiously at me and then sped up behind me at about 60 MPH. I pulled over the let him go by. I was shaking. I cannot watch any news as my anxiety is high enough with moving and all the changes in my life. Add in the news and I get an anxiety attack. I feel bad that you have to drive so long to get to work and especially back from work when you are so tired.

@flyingdumbo127 I get my phone at an actual Verizon store. Last time Chris and I went to an authorized dealer and we did get good service but next time it will be an official store. It is sometimes hard to work with places like Walmart and Target.

I met the kids at the bus yesterday, Kenny was home early enough to go too. We went to Chik fil A. The kids like to play in the play place. Kenny's GF is away this weekend. Kenny and I are going out to dinner tonight. I want to treat him as he has done so much for me. Jeff is back from Las Vegas where he had a conference. He texted me right after he got to his hotel on Sunday and said he did not like Las Vegas at all. He was able to get an earlier flight out and was happy to leave.

Seemed the day for it - grilled cheese and soup is what we had here as well. So sorry about what happened to your DS - I hope all the tests come back clean and he is OK. I don't blame him at all for questioning his career lately.

And sorry about your scare in traffic too @Snowysmom. Some people are just so close to edge that the tiniest thing sets them off - it's sad and scary, and I think we (as a society) really need to change something.

I've been avoiding starting the day with news lately, but I have it on this morning and it's awful - all this "day of rage" stuff is unsettling. I'm glad DH was already supposed to work from home today.

One bright spot I just heard: a bunch of American students just got back here safely. Their dorm was being turned into a shelter, and they left some of their belongings for the refugees.

Good morning . We are still on the Oasis of The Seas, and it’s heading back to Bayonne now. We are probably passing Daytona Beach now. We passed through a thunderstorm last night. The ship is so huge, it doesn’t rock, but thunder woke us both up.

Phillies beat the Braves!️ What a game, hard time getting to sleep! I’ve had my Phillies shirt laundered on the ship….

@Snowysmom, just once I have felt the road rage of another driver, it shook me up so bad. I pulled our of PT on a rural road and this car came flying at me. He followed me for awhile, I was very scared. The area spooked me for a long time. I am sad it happened to you.

I don’t know much about the war, but we were to be on a Celebrity cruise going to Israel next week, we canceled due to health concerns last year, and the ship of course is not going to Israel. It was our third try to get to see the Holy Land, but it will not happen for us, now, ever.

Good sunny Friday the 13'th!
I got a late start yesterday so by the time I finished errands and grocery shopping it was after 4. I was tired and hungry and didn't want to cook, so I stopped and got us chinese on the way home. We ate and then I scanned the groceries and put everything away. Took the trash out and finally sat down to relax at 8:30. I was too tired to even start watching anything. @PollyannaMom I recorded Sullivans Crossing and the other new one Spenser Sisters, but haven't watched them yet. I haven't even gotten to Survivor and I'm 2 weeks behind in Amazing Race
@Pea-n-Me That's sad about your son. People are just mean. I notice they are irritable lately too, but I'm also guilty of it. I have too much to do, I'm having a harder time getting things done the older I get. I have stuff to do outside, and either it's too windy to get it done, or it's raining. It's sunny and 70 today, but calling for rain all weekend. I was hoping to get that tree down soon, but the way the weather is going every weekend, I don't know how long it's going to take.

Off to get laundry done and wash the floors

Happy Friday!

A happy day for me because I'm working from home today ! Both of my bosses are at conferences so I didn't see the need for me to be in the office. And with them being gone, my work is pretty slow. I even went to the grocery store this morning for a full grocery run. The boys are coming over Sunday to test out my new grill and to watch the Bengals play so I needed stuff to grill and the sides. I'll go back up Sunday morning and grab some cupcakes for dessert.

Has anyone noticed how banged up some of the competitors knees and arms are this year?

I mentioned to my sister last week to look at Emily's (the annoying girl on yellow tribe) knees and then I started to notice everyone's legs and knees are a mess . I think I would were pants.

Getting back into my meal prepping routine this weekend. I'm going to make dinner for tonight and then take the rest for lunch tomorrow (working day shift). Sunday night I can make my eggs for the week which I've gotten out of doing. I've just been getting breakfast at work and that's really starting to add up. I bought grab-n-go stuff for my lunches (chicken salad, tuna salad), throw a piece of fruit in my lunchbag with it and I'm good.

How awful! Makes me glad I'm in Labor & Delivery . Does your son work on MedSurg or Pysch? I always read the incident reports that the hospital post (my other job is at a children's only hospital) and I can't believe all the injuries the nurses and PCA's get from working with kids. Some of these kids can be the size of an adult and the hitting, pushing, and biting is unreal.

Well Let's Make a Deal is on now so I'm going to watch that while I see if anyone needs anything done for work. Have a great day and weekend!

Good morning. Just a quick hello as I am going to take the dogs out for a run and clear my head a bit, then come home and start going through some clothes I need to sort through. I need a coffee. Bad.

@footballmouse it happened in the ER, but he is all over the hospital. The scary thing about those incident reports is that a lot of the time, no one files them (it takes time and they don’t have a lot to spare, usually; they just want to go home and forget it ) so the real truth of the actual harassment, near misses and injuries isn’t known. I am always after people to fill them out, so the truth IS known, but often they don’t. Nor do nurses and PCAs really want to “get anyone in trouble” because they’re nice. So what you see doesn’t tell the whole story. Sometimes I stay after my shift so they get written. But lately the responses I get make me wonder if it’s even worth it. Always excuses of why things happened that shouldn’t have happened. DS just told me about someone they brought in last night who seriously injured a police officer, firefighter and EMT who were trying to help him. No wonder people are leaving these helping fields.

@bobbiwoz You have done alot of cruising. How do you feel about the really big ships? I find I like the smaller ships. I was on the Wish in May and it seemed big to me. I have been on Norwegian Dawn and Pearl also. Next year I will be going on the Gem.

I have not watched the news but did see a news feed with today's proclamation. KInd of which I hadn't. I am beyond saddened and angered that this is going on. Everyone be safe.

Good morning. Cold one here. My heat came on and I have it set for 65. I have done my grocery shopping. I got to Market Basket at 7 and it was already crowded. They open at 7. The checkouts were a mess. I am rethinking where I do my shopping. I may go between Wegman's and Hannafords with an occasional trip to MB. If I shop carefully I can find fair prices at both places. Last Saturday I went to MB at noon and there was not a parking spot in the huge parking lot. Even if I spend a bit more money I do not have the energy to deal with crowds. Wegman's opens at 6 on Saturdays.

Not much going on this weekend. I had dinner with Kenny last night. It was nice. He is mountain climbing in NH today. I know he is very safety conscious and has done this for many years but I always tell him to text me once he is off the mountain and heading home. I am not sure if I will be seeing Jeff and family as they are always so busy. I am going to go take a walk in a local trail area. Then see what else I can do today.

Good morning. Rainy and a high of 56 today. Travis called last night and they're planning on cutting next weekend, weather permitting. He wanted to doublecheck the address so they could deliver the equipment. He's going to try and get it done in one day, so he doesn't have to pay rentals for 2 days. We'll have to play it by ear with the weather.

I cleaned yesterday, dusted and vacuumed, did laundry, washed the kitchen floor and did the bathrooms. Today all I have to do is strip the bed and remake it. I might catch up on Survivor and Amazing Race today.
