Best credit card to pay DVC dues

BJ's is always at least 4% and you can order gift cards from the website with free shipping. Again, always. There is no need to ever set foot in a physical BJ's to use this offer.
I’m aware like I said I have a BJS membership and buy from them.

I guess we can agree to disagree what the easiest best option is then. Not that I’m saying BJs is a bad option.

Did anyone pay their DVC dues this year with their Wells Fargo Attune card? I am wondering if it coded for 4x rewards.
Just looked it up on the WF website - so you get 4% back? Paying with Disney gift cards purchased with a Target Red Card will save you 5%. That's been my go-to for years.

The BJ's path beats this at >7%.

The bigger problem is that the 6% benefit on Blue Cash Preferred caps out at $6,000 per year and if you're hitting that limit with organic grocery spend anyways, you're just trading real grocery rewards for gift card rewards. Then you need to use a card with lower earning power for all of your grocery spend >$6,000.
Your example is assuming that BJ's cards are on sale.

I agree and have pointed out many times that you can certainly come out ahead over Target's 5% if you buy cards at BJ's or Sam's and have a card that earns at least 1.5% back.

If we look at normal prices BJ's is 4% on the $500 cards ($479.99) and a 2% card nets you $9.60 and takes the price down to $470.39 which comes out to 5.92%
If we buy a card at any grocery store with the AMEX BCP we would pay $500 but get $30 back bringing the cost down to $470 which of course is 6%
If you factor in grocery stores that give fuel points for your purchases you can certainly add to savings.

Kroger owned stores offer a fuel savings program that allows you to accrue and redeem fuel points.
Every $1 you earn counts as 1 point but Disney and other gift card purchases are multiplied routinely by 2x and very often have 4x fuel point promotions.
Every 100 points will allow you to save $0.10 per gallon up to a maximum of 35 gallons.
Kroger allows you to combine your points to save up to $1 per gallon if you have enough points.

With the $500 card you would earn either 1,000 or 2,000 fuel points which would be valid for 1 or 2 fill ups of up to 35 gallons or $35 saved.

With a car that only has a 10 gallon tank and just the normal 2x on gift cards we would be saving another $10 in gas.

This takes the $500 BCP card down to $460 which is 8% off.
If you are able to utilize all of the 35 gallons then that would drop your costs down to $435 or 13% off.

You could then of course use a cc that gets a better percent back when purchasing the gas.

You mentioned that the BCP caps out at $6,000 and while that is true the original poster, @muppets3d didn't specify how much in GC was needed so I think @VGCgroupie suggestion of the AMEX BCP is certainly a good one as there really aren't any hoops to jump through and grocery stores are available pretty much everywhere where Target's and BJ's are not. Yes I realize you can order online but sometimes Target places a limit on the cards online.

A lot of people open new cards that need to spend xx amount in a certain time to get a bonus amount of cash back or points.

Why not try and see if you can meet that spend requirement in a category that can earn you extra points along the way?

Also if it is a point based credit card sometimes 4% in points is worth more that 5% in cash when it comes to booking hotels and flights.

For me the only downside is coordinating getting gas with DH, it's like we have a date every couple weeks to go get gas, we go at the same time so we always get 35 gallons.

Yes that is what we do as well. If one car has more gas we will switch and start driving that one to try and get them on equal levels. It kills me when we only get 30 gallons on some trips lol

My husband makes fun of me if we get 33 gallons.. he asks "so are you adding that we missed 2 gallons to your spreadsheet"

Doesn't it hurt your credit score every time you open a new CC? Asking, I really don't know. Just what I've always believed.

Only if you are not using them responsibly.
It may go down like 5 points for the initial hard pull but it should actually improve as now you will have more available credit which in turn lowers the percentage used on your cards.

This has been my experience and that is all I can speak for.

Well I went for the personal platinum. For sure my MO.. go from considering the cheapest (green) to the most expensive option 😂 Being able to double dip the benefits just made more sense and the offer was 175k for 8k spend. No travel multiplier though.

The credits and bonus will easily cover the AF. Treat yourself to some Disney Lululemon merchandise :rotfl:

Did you get the new mirror finish? 🤔

Never wound I ever buy Lulu without the credit so that will be extra fun for me! 100% going to see if I can get the mirror finish. We are going to buy 2 Oura rings as well. And with the Delta $200 credit hack it was a no brainer and not sure why I even thought about the green.

It.goes back up around 2-3 months later. The hard pull is just temp down a few points as you said.

Since we're on the topic, a side note about the Amex Gold Biz ...it actually gives you a $20 credit each month at a office supply store. So, you could purchase $20 Disney GC for the credit which pays for most of the AF.

Completely forgot about that DS loves this one shirt that shows how to draw Mickey

Not sure if it is still on the site this a pic from eBay of it.

Of course DS had to have both black & white versions lol

Looks like the female version is still on the website.

Could always plan a trip just to burn the credit in DS. 🤣

I do this and it works flawlessly, except somehow Office Depot carries some pretty cool stuff and I buy it and I otherwise never would've stopped in. Like a Monopoly Scrabble mashup board game
