@lynxstch You are so busy with your projects in the house. Dave sounds like a good worker and gets things done. You are fortunate.

Good morning. Cool morning here but getting into the 70s. It is supposed to be 90 on Thursday. I am not ready for that. Not much going on today, just work and walks. I may go Hannafords and pick up some salad mix they have on sale. I will probably make sheet pan fajitas for supper.

Have a good day.

Good morning,
Another bright sunny day. I looked at the extended forecast, and we 'might' get some rain by June 11'th. It never fails, I plant the garden and the rain comes to an end. My friend in CO who never gets rain, has more than a 50% chance of it for the next 14 days, and they have only had a few nice days over the last 2 weeks. Mother Nature isn't happy about something.

@bobbiwoz Sorry to hear that Tom seems worse. I hope it clears up soon

I got the living and dining room curtains up yesterday and it looks so nice. My right hand is bothering me, I think I'm going to have to take it easy today. I want to paint more of the foundation and trim, but I don't want to aggravate it more than it already is.

Summer has her shoulder surgery tomorrow. I hope when they do some biopsies, that it leads to some relief for her.
Have a nice day everyone

Good morning! I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend! Weather has been beautiful here. I got a little [too much] sun even though I was mostly in the shade. DS’s team made it to the final round but the other team won. He didn’t pitch that last game but we stayed for team support. It was a long day! But fun.

I have to get the furnace people out here this week. Our AC won’t go on ever since they came this past winter and installed a new thermostat. I don’t think they connected the AC. The guy was in a hurry. Just hoping it doesn’t cost $700 like last time.

Lynn, glad your work is mostly done. Sounds lovely. DD’s arm hurt after she painted for two days, too.

Bobbi, how do you think you and Tom got sick? Was it on the cruise? I hope he starts to turn the corner soon. Snowysmom, sounds like a nice time with the family.

We were pooped yesterday. Got a little done around the house but also took a nap. I made spinach salad (spinach, tomatoes, peppers, red onion, hard boiled egg, blueberries, strawberries, croutons) with grilled chicken and garlic pita for lunch and that was about all the energy I had for cooking. For dinner we heated up some of the frozen garlic pasta with chicken from Aldi’s and it was delicious. I may try to get some more to keep on hand.

The boys made it home from the kennel ok. Grady was really happy to be home. Toto was tired but happy, too. $160 for two nights. I miss when my mother used to watch the dogs for us when we went away. I feel like I need to give them a bath today, too. Toto just completed two rounds of antibiotics for a skin infection, I hope he didn’t pick anything up there. I will probably take him in the shower with me today and hose him down. Insult to injury, lol.

I have a few things I have to get done today before I start a work stretch. I hope everyone has a good Tuesday! 🐥

🙏Extra to Tom and to you, Bobbiwoz and for Summer, Lynn! All Quackers and their families in need, of course, always, too.
Pea, if I lived close to you, I would happily :dogdance:sit any time for you!

Snowysmom, send some of your :sunny:to me, please, I will gladly take it. I do pray the warmer weather out there not only makes our daily walks easier but more so helps brighten your spirit, dear friend.

Easyas:wave: and a:hug:

🦷🙏please for my dad. He shared with me after coming home this morning from doing laundry and Ralph's shopping that one of his upper teeth is causing him a lot of pain :( He has a very early as in crack of dawn amost 8am dentist appointment tomorrow morning. His dentist doesn't work on Tuesdays and dad is choosing to not check into other dentist options today. Otherwise, all is quiet on the LA front. I will check back in later.

💛to all!

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your Dad gets his tooth taken care of.

Bobbiwoz I hope you and Tom are feeling better.

Good morning. A warm day coming up, near 80. Yesterday it was smoky and a haze was in the air. Kenny found out we were getting some of the smoke from the Nova Scotia wildfires. I thought it was pollen at first but there was a definite smell to it. We kept the windows closed and used the AC. I have another salt therapy session today. See how that goes.

The builder of my condo contacted my agent to say they want to push off the closing until mid July. She is waiting for the answer as to why. I do want it to be built well but 10 days ago they said they were on scheduled for mid June. Now that I won't be closing mid June I may take another day off from work and head up to NH with Kenny and the kids on the day they leave. That way I don't have to drive myself and we will just have one car there. I need time away from reality for sure and I plan to sit on the cabin deck and enjoy nature, read a bit, and toast marshmallows or rather burn marshmallows.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Sorry about the delay, but glad for the silver lining to your vacation plans.

Good morning!

Your trip sounds nice and relaxing, Snowysmom. I’m glad you can leave early and take just one car. I had been thinking about going out for these fajitas we like when you mentioned them yesterday, then we got word from the furnace guy he was coming at 5:30pm. I had to run out for an inspection sticker so I ran into a small store to grab a few things and was able to get most of what I needed to make them at home. I like mango salsa but they didn’t have it, fortunately I had peach at home, for that little bit of sweetness. They came out pretty good. DH didn’t like the brand of wraps; I don‘t really like them anyway, but that’s all they had there. (And prices were astronomical on everything!) I just made them the regular way, in the pan, using fajita seasoning. How did yours come out on the sheet pan? I’d seen that done on IG but couldn’t remember how they were seasoned. Would you share how you made them? I did add a little extra lime juice, fortunately we had that on hand, too.

Good news was that the guy came for the AC and we explained how it had never gone on right since their other guy put the new thermostat on. He fiddled with it, fixed it, and said there was no charge, since the last guy didn’t connect it right, and they guarantee their work. Yay! That made me happy. (Of course, it hasn‘t shut off yet :lmao: which could be an issue. We hate the thermostat they put in, it’s needlessly complicated. Hope we can get it to regulate. ☝️ Have to play with it later. Previous thermostat was simple.) We offered him some food before he left but he said no, thanks. I felt bad, he said had an hour and a half ride home, and when I said I felt bad, he said, “Don’t, this was our fault”. Nice to interact with someone so reasonable. I meant to say I had a horrible shopping experience at the little store I‘d run to earlier. All young kids working there and a few were rude, to say the least. (And I’m really easy to get along with in grocery stores.) But this other guy made up for it.

Flyingdumbo, I hope your Dad can get some relief from his dentist today. How did he make out w the hearing aids?

I think people will like the garlic chicken pasta from Aldi’s if they get it. Hope you’re enjoying your new updates, Lynn. Work has slowed here for us until the weekend when we’re all home again, but we did manage to put up the new towel rack in the bathroom which came after I ordered it. So bathroom is fully functional again but still needs some detail work and painting.

Kirby, I hope your son is doing well now. Dazed, thinking of you and hope you are doing ok. Hope to hear from others we haven’t seen in a while. Check in when you can.

Enjoy this Wednesday, everyone! 🐥

Oops, I forgot to add some pictures.

Fajitas

Sour cream and salsa were on the bottom. I also made just some minute rice w butter and mushrooms, one of our favorites.

Frick and Frack waiting for their food, lol. Btw they are loving the wet salmon dog food from Aldi’s, Toto’s been absolutely cleaning his dish! Giving him the dry from Aldi’s, too. Grady doesn’t like that as much, so we give him a mix of dry, but he loves the Salmon, too. Bought some other flavors, as well. Toto was ravenous when he came home from the kennel, I wonder if he didn’t eat there, or if Grady ate his food. I left a ziplock bag of treats on the ottoman and he ate them all, right out of the bag! He never does that! Poor thing.

Good sunny morning. Now that we need rain, we aren't going to get any. 80's today and tomorrow, then 90's for the next 2. Back to mid 70's by next week. At least the grass has slowed down it's growing some. I didn't do much of anything yesterday except clearing more junk out of the cellar. I've got a boatload of trash to take down to the street for tomorrow, since trash was delayed one day for the holiday.

@Snowysmom sorry about the delay on the condo, but now you get to take the extra vacation with Kenny!

Have a nice day everyone..

:wave:Good Morning🐥with love,

Thank you all so much for your extra prayers for my dad. Please extend your🙏for him 🦷wise. He did see Dr. C, his dentist who after taking an X-RAY determined that not only does my poor dad have an infection but that he needs to see an endodontist for further (yet to be determined) treatment options on a particular tooth. I, of course, feel so badly for him. Dad has really been through so very much. He is of courageous spirit and doing his best to take this one step at a time. We are both, of course, so grateful to God extra for all the medical and dental care, dad has gotten and that the antibiotic that Dr. C prescribed should clear up the infection and give dad relief:cheer2:

Dad, isn't yet sold on his Costco hearing aids, Pea, :thanks:for asking how he's doing with them. He will be going back to see the hearing aid specialist in a couple of weeks. Right now, his tooth is the more urgent issue. I do think (hope) he still intends to try out an over-the-counter hearing aid option before he returns to Costco. I will keep you and everyone else posted. Truly thank you, all of you, you know that, for your kind care and loving support to both dad and I always. I just love Toto and Grady! Such handsome and loyal :dogdance:They are absolutely canine Quackers!

Snowysmom, I'm also sorry about the condo 🏠delay. How thankful I truly am that this will allow you to enjoy a better trip. A cabin retreat sounds lovely and exactly like the respite you need that I pray brings you both fun and added peace!

PollyannaMom, I hope you and your 🐈are enjoying some extra Wednesday sunshine :)

Lynn,, what a cool::MickeyMopicture! Thank you, my friend for sharing it with us. Prayers for Summer and always for you and Don!

Sandro, our Sparkletts man, has already come. We are so blessed to have him. He does such a great job and is so nice. Tomorrow, depending how dad is feeling, we are still planning on going to a different Kohls because they sent me a free $10 that will expire early next week. That combined with our "free" of sorts credit card rewards Kohls gift card will make for a very discounted 🛍️trip. Then, we will head over to a different, nearby JC Penney to use coupons and a gift card that we still have there. Safety prayers appreciated for that outing for sure and that we might find something that we can donate in some way, too! A little later this morning, I am looking forward to seeing my friend Barbara again after her own dentist appointment near me. That will sure be nice to get to see her again so soon. Quiet Wednesday otherwise. Wishing all of you a great day. I will check back in later.

PollyannaMom, I hope you and your 🐈are enjoying some extra Wednesday sunshine :)

We were! Both "furry princesses" enjoyed some fresh air and sunshine today. (I take them one at a time, since of course they never want to go in the same direction! :rotfl2:) I'm in now, catching up on various threads here, then planning to exercise in a few minutes and unload the dishwasher before I leave to watch the twins after school.

I can't believe it's only a few more weeks until summer vacation! They have a baseball game today, so I'll get to see that.

LOL, PollyannaMom, and of course no 🐈 much like kid wants to make a walk easier by choosing the same direction or destination! Oh well, it provides dear you with an extra walk in the :sunny:Summer is indeed coming:cheer2:in general and for the twins⚾team, too. Always, of course, also for you!

Right now, we're waiting for a call from the rooter🚽trouble. It's backing up :P Thankfully it has not overflown! This definitely is a reminder why ideally having a second bathroom would be so handy. I'm glad it sounds like most of you have two bathrooms! Don't take that for granted! Barbara should be here within a couple hours, looking forward to that :) Through tonight, remember, Oriental Trading is offering free shipping on any order. The code is: PATRIOTIC23

Someone named Claudia just posted here on the CB about patriotic disposable tableware at Dollar General. We don't have any Dollar Generals near us but maybe some of you do. So cute! Check it out.

Good afternoon addition to happily share the toilet seems to be working just fine now. Dad plunged it earlier with Pine Sol. Ever since, it's been fine. Who knew fixing a toilet was so easy, lol! I also enjoyed a lovely visit outside with Barbara. Dad will be going soon to get his antibiotic from Rite Aid and is hanging in there. I'm just thankful he was able to enjoy some lunch! Prayers al of you are having a good afternoon :)

Good morning. Page 2 save. Bright and sunny, heading for 88 today. There may be a chance of rain on Saturday. Grass is starting to turn brown, we need some. I just watered the heck out of the garden.
I puttered around yesterday cleaning this and that. Nothing new going on around here. All you hear is mowers, wackers, and chain saws, along with hammering and dogs barking.
Tomorrow is the last day of school for kids around here, so the noisy busses won't be running after that.

Summer's surgery went well as far as what her mother told me. She's in a lot of pain, but they got the repair done completely and did bone biopsies. Hoping they provide some results that will give her some idea of what is going on in her body.

Today is grocery and errand day. Dave may come tonight or he may wait till it rains on Saturday to get things done.

Have a nice day everyone.
