Good evening! Bobbi, I hope you and Tom feel better soon. And you as well, Taz. Mona, I like your craft! Easyas, I know what you’re talking about, lol. Thinking of everyone.
Met my family for breakfast this morning. They liked what I gave them. It was nice to catch up. They’re struggling, of course. We were able to talk about it a little bit. This was not a young child, btw, but an older one, ie an adult. Still, always hard. DH couldn’t come as he had to wait for the plumber, who came while we were out. But DD and DS came with me.
Turned out the bathroom fix was a relatively easy one, thankfully. He didn’t even charge us. I will have to make him a meal and some banana bread and send it over some time. I was sorry I didn’t get to see him - we used to chat a lot both times he was building here.
DH had taken the day off and got most of the bathroom detailing finished once the pipes were fixed. There’s still a couple of trim pieces and some painting to do, as well as cleaning out the cabinets above the washer and dryer, painting them and adding the new hardware. I’ll have to do those Monday. But I cleaned it and got everything else set up and it looks nice. Oh, and we get to keep the waterfall faucet - DH set it up so it can only go so forcefully, lol, ie it definitely won’t hit the wall again!

So happy about that! Fresh and new was our goal and that, we have. I guess I forgot to order the towel holder so I have to do that tonight. But the rest of the pieces look good. DS will be happy when he gets home from work tonight. He’s been exhausted when he gets home. He had done most of the bull work in there and put the floor down. He did a good job. They both did. You know, it‘s not a perfect job, being DIY, but it’s better than it was, for sure, and it also didn’t break the bank. (We figured by the time all is said and done it will come in under $5K - not bad for a huge room and bathroom reno.) There had been a leak under the sink and the floor had gotten soft and all that. That’s all fixed now, so I’m happy to be able to use that bathroom again. I didn’t even want to go in there before, it drove me crazy. But I did always love that whole space. When we first bought this house, before we had kids, I was so in love with it. Set up a lot differently than the 1910 Victorian I grew up in. But lots of neat spaces and that was the space where, basically, I spent hours and hours with my twins when they were toddlers and like two little monkeys climbing on everything. It will have a different feel now, but still a good family space.
Well I have a little packing to do tonight and I still have to put my car back together in the morning. (Oh, I forgot to mention when I came out the day after getting my car detailed there was bird poop all over the side of it!

) Then we’ll be headed to the tournament. Have to re-do the manicure I got several days back, my hands have been working hard.
Wishing everyone a nice rest of the evening, and a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Btw,
@PollyannaMom Thank you for putting out the flags at the cemetery. I wish I could go but not going to make it this weekend, we’re going in the opposite direction. All the flags out always look so beautiful. I know my both father and my mother appreciated everything done for the veterans. They both loved that space, too, it is really beautiful where they are. Please give them a nod for me when you’re there.
