:grouphug: dear Pea and prayers. I'm so sorry, my friend. It is heartbreaking when a child passes away especially unexpectedly. Wishing you along with the rest your family extra 🕊️with much💕

Wow what an early:car:Snowysmom. I would not like that at all. I'm a morning person but that is certainly near the crack of dawn to be on the road. Extra safe travel prayers for you, my friend. Enjoy grandkid time :)

Dad is long safely home, thanks to God. Costco adjusted his hearing aids a bit to make the sound less tinny. Dad has a follow up appointment in a few weeks at which time he and the nice hearing specialist will reeavaluate other options if need be. We will finish our newspaper this afternoon.

Wishing all of you a good rest of the day🌸

We had an unexpected death in the family, sadly
I'm sorry to read that, such a difficult thing.
Lynn, I am 😬 for you. She sounds like a pill.
I agree with you, she does! Lynn - maybe it's time to cut your losses? Perhaps call a professional painting company and have them come in and finish? Might be a bit of a pita but I bet they could bang out the rest of it in no time.
Had to take Toto to the vet’s yest for recheck - $350.
I'm just back from the vet myself, one of the pups was due for a few vaccines, plus I had them clip her nails. And filled a RX. I made out better than you, $250...$150 of which was the RX. ouch....but you know how it is.
The traffic is not as bad as if I left an hour later
I'm glad you didn't have to much traffic. I ran up the road to the vets and it's off of a main highway that leads off of 95S & Rt. 1 in DE and folks coming South from NY, PA & NJ were swarming the place! All headed South, or at least South from me. Speaking of which, I've got a yoga class this PM that will have me making my way thru that traffic to get there. I did not think that out to well.

I still haven't made it to the grocery store, but hopefully I will Friday after work or first thing Saturday morning. I know - I'm a glutton for punishment, but those are the first two times I have to go-unless I get up and go at about 6 AM tomorrow morning-which I should maybe consider.

My sleep cycle has been way off for the past several days, which isn't out of the norm for me to have periods of insomnia like this. Hope it doesn't last to many more days.

Everyone is on their own for dinner this evening, husband is baiting his trot line and I'll be at yoga.

Good Evening.

@Pea-n-Me - sorry for your loss.

Well Volleyball is over and we have a championship to celebrate. I was so proud of Ella. She has really improved and it showed.

I finally got to see Wyatt play baseball tonight and he is going to be a decent player as he gets older. He had a really nice hit and a put out at 3rd base (he was the 3rd baseman and they caught the other team attempting to steal). I was really proud of him though in the final inning. They were down 1 one and his teammate hit a flyball that was caught. Wyatt told him that he hit the ball and that was good. He can be so nice when he wants to be, or maybe as long as it isn't Ben! LOL I told Wyatt I was proud of him. His team lost by a run to a tournament team that was undefeated. Personally I think they cheated bringing a pitcher back into the game for the last inning. He had already pitched 2 innings earlier in the game. I asked my son and he said some leagues allow it but it should never be done as eventually you will destroy the boy's shoulder. I guess the other team would rather win than protect their players.

Of course I managed to fall at the game. Thankfully I didn't hurt the ankle again, but I did cut and bruise my bad knee. I will probably be a little sore tomorrow, but I'll live. I'm more upset that I damaged my camera lens. I can still use it but I will probably need to think about replacing it at some point. I may head to the camera shop over the weekend to get their opinion and if it looks like there may be damage I can't see. I get all of my equipment there and trust them.

Not much else here. tomorrow is an easy day, no games on the schedule so I may just sit and rest this knee.

Have a good evening all.

@TazDev Sorry you fell. I hope you feel better today. How fun to watch your DGS play baseball.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope your project is going well.

Quick good morning. I need to take Kenny to get tires replaced on his car. He will be taking my car to work today as I will just be at his house all day. I am starting work early.

Have a good day.

Hi, everyone :goodvibes Hope you're all heading into a great day and a nice long weekend!

We'll be running some errands today and placing flags tomorrow. No big cookout plans, but DH is considering having a fire in the fire pit.

The weather here looks like it will be really nice.

Good morning all. Another beautiful day. So far good weather for the weekend, with just a chance of a shower on Monday. W

@tazdev3225 Sorry that you fell again. Hope nothing keeps you from having a nice weekend.

I'm waiting to see if the painter is going to show or not. I moved a few things out of the way in case she does, but not moving more in case she doesn't, lol.

Just ordered a new range hood to match the stove, I never even thought of it until yesterday. Our old white one just doesn't match black and stainless steel.

Watered the tomato plants early this morning. I think I'm going to clean the blinds today and get that out of the way before I put up the new curtains. Always something more to do on my to list. I don't think I'll ever see the end of it.

Have a great Friday, and for those of you going away for the weekend, have fun and stay safe!

Good morning.
Here to cool off a bit...rather aggravated by something proclaimed in another thread.
1685114603100.jpeg

So, a super slow day in the office. I'll run home in a bit to grab lunch and let the mutts out. Husband and son already up to a half bushel crabbing and they've only been out a little over 2 hours, so it sounds like they are having a successful run this morning.

My yoga class last night was great, I've never had a private one-on-one instruction before. I signed up for a group class on Sunday morning. I like the studio, it's ashame it's so far away (about 40 minutes) but everything is just about that far away from us! They have early AM classes starting at 5 or 5:30, and evening classes - so I'm thinking about joining and trying to get in 2, possibly 3 classes a week in depending on my schedule.

I never did make it to the grocery store or liquor store yet. BUT I did at least remember to toss my grocery list into the front seat of my truck so I had it in case the opportunity came about today!

:wave:Good Afternoon!

Sorry to be so late in posting today. Dad and I did enter our Daily Sun newspaper last night :) No matter what happens, it sure was an extra blessing to us from God that we were able to create it together and in health. We'll always have the memory of doing so, too. I will keep all of you posted should we win which I don't think will be announced until late June.

Please take care dear Taz:grouphug: and be careful. I'm so sorry you fell :( PM-ing you!

Lynn, truly 🙏that long by now the painter showed up, with an apology, too!

PollyannaMom, what a cute 🐈 picture. Hummingbird siting, cheers, of course, too!

:grouphug:extra to you as well Easyas and prayers you are feeling better right now indeed. I'm so glad you enjoyed your yoga class.

Snowysmom, :car:prayers for Kenny and always love to you!

🐣💛I will come back later. Have a good rest of the day everyone.

The kitchen ceiling is painted and that room is 100% done. So far it's the only room that is totally done. But at least it's one room done. The ceiling really made a difference, so much brighter now. She left and I moved everything back, as usual. Put my clocks and other wall decor back up. Tomorrow I'll give the curtains a rinse and dry and put them back up. Then I can wash the floor and get all the drips of paint off of it. She had plastic down so I have no idea how so much got dripped on it. She's not coming tomorrow, and tentatively will be here Sunday, sometime after 2. Then she has to work all week from 9-2 so who knows when this is going to get done.

Have a nice evening

Good evening! Bobbi, I hope you and Tom feel better soon. And you as well, Taz. Mona, I like your craft! Easyas, I know what you’re talking about, lol. Thinking of everyone.

Met my family for breakfast this morning. They liked what I gave them. It was nice to catch up. They’re struggling, of course. We were able to talk about it a little bit. This was not a young child, btw, but an older one, ie an adult. Still, always hard. DH couldn’t come as he had to wait for the plumber, who came while we were out. But DD and DS came with me.

Turned out the bathroom fix was a relatively easy one, thankfully. He didn’t even charge us. I will have to make him a meal and some banana bread and send it over some time. I was sorry I didn’t get to see him - we used to chat a lot both times he was building here.

DH had taken the day off and got most of the bathroom detailing finished once the pipes were fixed. There’s still a couple of trim pieces and some painting to do, as well as cleaning out the cabinets above the washer and dryer, painting them and adding the new hardware. I’ll have to do those Monday. But I cleaned it and got everything else set up and it looks nice. Oh, and we get to keep the waterfall faucet - DH set it up so it can only go so forcefully, lol, ie it definitely won’t hit the wall again! :lmao: So happy about that! Fresh and new was our goal and that, we have. I guess I forgot to order the towel holder so I have to do that tonight. But the rest of the pieces look good. DS will be happy when he gets home from work tonight. He’s been exhausted when he gets home. He had done most of the bull work in there and put the floor down. He did a good job. They both did. You know, it‘s not a perfect job, being DIY, but it’s better than it was, for sure, and it also didn’t break the bank. (We figured by the time all is said and done it will come in under $5K - not bad for a huge room and bathroom reno.) There had been a leak under the sink and the floor had gotten soft and all that. That’s all fixed now, so I’m happy to be able to use that bathroom again. I didn’t even want to go in there before, it drove me crazy. But I did always love that whole space. When we first bought this house, before we had kids, I was so in love with it. Set up a lot differently than the 1910 Victorian I grew up in. But lots of neat spaces and that was the space where, basically, I spent hours and hours with my twins when they were toddlers and like two little monkeys climbing on everything. It will have a different feel now, but still a good family space.

Well I have a little packing to do tonight and I still have to put my car back together in the morning. (Oh, I forgot to mention when I came out the day after getting my car detailed there was bird poop all over the side of it! 😬 ) Then we’ll be headed to the tournament. Have to re-do the manicure I got several days back, my hands have been working hard.

Wishing everyone a nice rest of the evening, and a great Memorial Day Weekend! 🐥
Btw, @PollyannaMom Thank you for putting out the flags at the cemetery. I wish I could go but not going to make it this weekend, we’re going in the opposite direction. All the flags out always look so beautiful. I know my both father and my mother appreciated everything done for the veterans. They both loved that space, too, it is really beautiful where they are. Please give them a nod for me when you’re there. ❤️🇺🇸

Grateful I am, dear Lynn, to be reading of any painting progress especially at this point! I still don't understand how she is able to run a business this way. You know what upsets me is the added stress and work this is causing you. Please have enjoy a break from all of this tonight. Try not to even think about it. Watch something extra fun on 📺and an extra prayer that you enjoy a good nights rest!

:grouphug: dear Bobbi, also with extra prayers that you and Tom will both enjoy a peaceful good night's sleep! Please take care, both of you.

I hope you're resting this evening, dear Easyas and have had a brighter afternoon. May all your :dogdance:family members let you sleep extra well tonight.

Pea:grouphug:thinking extra of you, right now my friend with much care and love. Thank you also on your kind newspaper craft words. We did have fun making it. Please be good to yourself always, of course, and extra this weekend! How neat that you grew up in such an old home. Did it have any secret passages which is something I think of with older homes as some having? How is your son feeling?🙏

PollyannaMom are going to be reading and discussing some favorite children's books together. We're starting tomorrow with the first Boxcar Children book by Gertrude Chandler Warner. This is a favorite story of mine. It will be a lot of fun to discuss with a fellow dear Quacker. Speaking of dear Quackers, all of you, are so very welcome to join us! Please PM PollyannaMom if you want to join us with this book, and she will add you to a Boxcar #1 PM that she is starting between the two of us.

Wishing all of you sweet dreams with always all my love.

Here is the bathroom. Almost done. Barn theme. 👍🏻
Walls, floor, light, mirror, faucet and fixtures all new. Sink and toilet stayed.

The waterfall faucet we like so much.
DD wants to get the same one for the apt when she moves in.
It was so funny when air was in the pipes and the water shot to the opposite wall!

Mona, to answer your question, yes, there were some cool spaces in the old house. Not so much hidden, but large rooms in the attic that a little girl could get lost in. I remember dancing up there, and I think I had my Easy Bake Oven up there at one point. I would love to have that space, and the downstairs mud room and closet it had, in my house today. I still dream about being in that house all the time.

The bathroom looks great!! You all did an excellent job, and it must be so nice to have it fully functional again!

@Pea-n-Me The bathroom looks really nice. The good thing about DIY is you can have control over the project.

@bobbiwoz Hope you and Tom can rest this weekend and feel better soon.

@PollyannaMom It is nice of you to put out the flags this weekend. My Dad used to do it too. He was part of the DAV and each year would go to the local cemeteries to put up the flags. I always appreciated seeing the flag on his plot after he passed.

I have been up and around making the all important coffee, I pray and talk to Chris each morning, then I went to Market Basket for a few wants that I had, and took my first walk of the day. Kenny is off to NYC for the weekend. I am seeing Jeff and family tomorrow. Nothing else going on this weekend. I may go to Target and look for some books for the grandkids. I will do some housework. Log onto work for a bit. Have to keep busy.

Have a good day.

Good morning, but my day isn't starting well. I opened the back door to put food out for the outside cats, and my littlest cat flew out the door. She's full grown, but tiny, still looks like an older kitten. She's got 1/2 a tail, and we call her Bug. She's not one to be picked up, so even if she comes back, she's not going to let me catch her. I'm sad and worried, and afraid I'll never see her again. If you could spare a prayer that she gets hungry enough to come back in, I would appreciate it
Then I go to wash the kitchen curtains and the washer decides to start acting up. I finally got it reset and it's working right, but it's only 9:00 and I want to go back to bed and not come out again until Tuesday.
I hope everyone else has a nice weekend, mine isn't looking so good.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend.
