Quiet afternoon. Dad is resting which he needs to be doing more of! We're still trying to think of our craft. We both like an ice cream or sweet theme. Ideally a wall decoration is still our preference. Definitely would appreciate any extra ideas :)

:grouphug:to all for a good evening along with sweet dreams to come.

I texted the painter 3x before getting an answer. She says she has to work at the restaurant again tomorrow, but will be here on Wed. Plans on finishing the trim in the dining room and kitchen,, and painting the 3 ceilings then. Yeah I want to see that much get done in 5 or so hours. Then she has 3 more rooms to do after that. Don doesn't understand why I am upset that this is dragging out ,,this is week 3 already. I won't recommend her to anyone after this, that's for sure!
Have a nice evening.

:hug:Lynn, I'm sorry, my friend. I would be frustrated, too. It sounds like the painter is stalling in a way or at least taking more time than needed. 🙏that her work is professional quality? Definitely am :cheer2:on a quick finish so you can well move on! Try to please get some good rest tonight!

ETA: Dad had a fantastic📰🍨idea. "The Daily Sun" or as I suggested "Scoop." We'll use "Scoop" as in, ice cream, of course, in some way. Trying to figure out quickly now whether we need to order anything on Amazon. We have white cardstock and some colored pom poms, markers, a padded envelope can help make our 🍦cone. I like these Ice Cream Stickers. Any ideas on how we could make something similar? We do have these Ice Cream Napkins from Dollar Tree. This is more real now and fun.

Sweet Dreams, Friends with scoops of love :D

Good morning! I had another day yesterday like the day before. So sore when I crawled into bed last night, had to take some Motrin. Legs were throbbing. DH said he had the same problem. I think it’s from working on the cement floor. I spent the evening cleaning and putting all our DVDs back up on the newly painted shelves. It involved weaving in and out of a maze of boxes and climbing over lumps of things on the ground. I haven’t started going through my books yet but maybe later today. Wearing my scuffs probably didn’t help. 😂

DD did a really nice job painting the windows and bookshelves, they look great and I love the color. Earlier I was the chief cook and bottle washer all day again, too. Made a pasta salad for lunch, that was really good w tons of vegetables. And put some kielbasa and beans with hunks of onion and BBQ sauce/mustard in the crock pot for dinner and that came out good, too. Cooked two banana breads w browned bananas, did more laundry, cleaned and vacuumed, etc. Got my car back last night and it looks like new again, inside and out. Touch up paint was old and the guy couldn’t hit a few spots that needed it, I think from luggage going in and out of the back. Will have to run to dealership to get some more as I don’t want those to rust. Still have to put everything back INTO my car now, had emptied it completely. Washed all the dog blankets and towels I keep in there and got a new blanket for the back seat.

Poor DH hates plumbing, and of course, we had some issues in the bathroom last night after the new walls and flooring were just put in. He went to reconnect the pedestal sink and it sprung a leak! 😳 That leak turned into a bigger one and we had buckets and towels down trying to catch it all. Poor guy laying on the floor soaking wet (and swearing) trying to work almost upside down. 😬 Turned out the interior of some gaskets were corroded. So off they went to Lowe’s again after shutting off all the water from under the house. That was like a bad dream. Of course everyone had to go to the bathroom while the water’s off. 😅 (Makes you appreciate something simple like running water.) At one point when the water turned back on DD made the mistake of flushing the upstairs toilet. :lmao: (Boys still don’t know that’s what happened, we kept that to ourselves.) DH was yelling for DS who was under the house to shut the water off. But DS had his Disney music videos cranked and couldn’t hear him. I’m trying to find the remote among the mess to turn it down. It was pretty funny. We’ll be able to laugh about it more when we’re done. DH is having a plumber come over today after work.

Kind of bummed, I’d bought this really cool water faucet for the sink it’s like a waterfall. Fit perfectly and everything. During the plumbing fiasco DH asks DD to turn the water faucet on. I guess she hadn’t heard me say that when we turn it on, we have to turn it on just lightly (as I’d figured out when we initially tried it). So she turns it on full force when he asks and its spray goes shooting across the room, actually hitting the wall! And DH underneath! 😱 So needless to say, we, unfortunately, can’t keep that faucet. I had not seen anything about that in reviews of it. (What do these people have for sinks, troughs? :teeth: ) I guess I’m going to have to go buy another type of faucet today in person. Figures. Have a bunch of stuff either coming or that has come from Amazon. I will say I enjoy online shopping for this project the most part - I can find what I need without running all over the place. A few things I may need to get in person. Probably need to make a decision this morning about the bathroom rug so it can be here this week. And oh, yes, I sanded the stairs yesterday, as well. Did not like that job at all. And poor Grady hates all the noise, but he goes outside and lays in the grass so he does enjoy that. Toto was funny, he followed DS under the house crawl space and emerged looking like the Creature From the Black Lagoon with all cobwebs hanging off his head, lol.

Pool is almost clear so at least we can jump in now if we’re sweaty, even though the deck’s not up yet. Busy spring. Have so many other things to do around the yard, not sure when we’ll get it all done!

Have a good Tuesday, everyone! 🐥 Thinking of you all.

Best wishes for all who are doing renovation projects. It can be very challenging.

Lynn Your painter does sound challenging. I would be frustrated too.

@flyingdumbo127 Your craft idea sounds good. Have fun.

Good morning. A cold one here at 44 but getting around 70 today. I did go to the salt room yesterday. It was nice to have some down time and just breathe and close my eyes. I choose the beach sounds for background sounds. It is 45 minutes of breathing in very minute salt particles sitting in a very comfortable chair in dimmed lights. I will say I am not as stuffy and can really feel the stuffiness in my nose and sinuses break up. I am breathing easier especially considering the allergies. The woman I talked with is very kind and helpful. We chatted for a while. I made an appt for next week. I am not sure if this will help with my anxiety, stress, and sleep issues. Too soon to tell. They do have other programs there to sign up for. Alot of it is of a spiritual nature. One program that caught my eye is Change your story, change your life. The flyer asked if you are presenting one face to the outside world but your inside is very different. And that is my life for sure. People think I am doing well but inside I am heartbroken, lonely, and sad. Most people do not want to hear that I am still grieving for Chris. So, I may look into this program down the road. I can't do it this time due to timing but I will see when it comes up again. I did sign up for a program regarding signs from loved ones, my personal interest.

Off to work. Have a good day.

Am back from a quick weekend trip to Florida to surprise my Dad for his 80th birthday. DH couldn't get away, but DS and I went. - Fights were good, and Dad was so happy! (The party wasn't a surprise, but we were.)

We left here super early Saturday morning and were at his house by noon, so we had most of that first day just to visit. (Stepmom and I were coordinating, so she made sure they had nothing scheduled.) The party itself was Sunday afternoon, and I got to see more family there. My brother and sister-in-law, who live a little less than an hour from Dad's, came back to the house after, so we got some extra time with them as well.

We flew back yesterday afternoon, and I'm so glad we went! I don't want to post pictures of people without asking, but here is some Florida nature for anyone dreaming of summer:

Tied to the house today as I'm expecting a package I have to sign for. Hope it comes before noon.

I want to go to Ikea to pick up a small tray table to use on my deck.

Also want to stop by Costco to get some more garden trellis panels since I've figured out comparable ones are almost double in price. Trying to create a privacy screen out of them with zip ties to my deck railing and some greenery. This will sort of mute the view.

Looking straight out from my deck I can see my back yard. But - my chair is right where my next door neighbor can see me easily. I just want to drink my coffee there some mornings without observation even though my neighbors on both sides are lovely. Both sides have decks that are two stories high. Mine is about 4-5 feet off the ground. I spend a lot of time outdoors relaxing even when it's cool.

Yesterday I bought an led solar lantern, set it up and fell asleep before it got dark enough to see it lit up. Now I think I'll have to set an alarm to remind me to look at it tonight.

Good morning. Another perfect weather day, except we have haze from distant wild fires. Going to be 80. I think I'm going to start the painting early this morning while it's still partly shady in the front of the house. That's what will show most so I may as well start there.

Nothing else going on around her.

Have a good day.

Good Morning from misty LA,

I enjoyed extra this morning my small mug of hot 🍫with 🥞This afternoon will be perfect weather to dream of Summertime :sunny:while God willing, dad and I come up with our Daily Sun 📰Thank you all for your kind encouragement with this. Of course, how amazing it would be for us to win the $100 Dollar Tree Gift Card. I would absolutely use some of it in a serving way. What matters, is the blessing, His extra gift to dad and I of the ability and health to enter together. We are going to try to figure out any needed supplies to order this afternoon. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions! :)

:grouphug:Pea and please get some rest! Yikes to the whirlwind of home remodel work you and your family are still undertaking. Could you enjoy a Tuesday break from it day? At least enjoy some type of treat! Thinking of you:flower3:

Snowysmom, 🕊️❤️brighter days inside your heart and out always. Please remember how you feel is how YOU feel! YOU are so loved and matter so much. Don't ever let anyone decide for you where you "should, " according to them, be along your grief journey. May you always know God is with you every step and so are all of us! As a P.S. I love the sound of the program and hope you are able to one day participate in it!

Pollyanna, welcome 🏠once more with prayers you did enjoy a good night's 🛌Dad belated :bday:Thank you for making his celebration so extra special through your very presence at his party. I'm so thankful he had a good party! Thank you for sharing such pretty Summery pictures!

Judique, a quiet backyard oasis especially in the early morning🌅sounds lovely and so peaceful. I hope your 📦does arrive early and that you are able to get needed 🛍️done.

Lynn, 🖌️🙏continuing, my friend, along with always much care.

Have a great Tuesday Quacker Family. I will check back later.

I think your wish was my luck today as my package arrived! I had finished a few minor tasks and had sat down watching outside. Got up for a minute and a half and when I returned my package was on my doorstep, as I saw UPS drive away from another window!

They didn't bother getting the signature I paid extra for, but everything was okay.

How are you feeling, Bobbiwoz?🙏:grouphug:Thinking of you. I definitely have memories of being told either more outright or implied how I must/should by now feel. Neither of which was helpful let alone supportive! In another way, someone suggesting what anyone is going through is less important because so many others are dealing with harder, is almost worse. It is definitely a prayer of mine that all of us might come together as called by Christ to love and do our best to not judge! Not our place. Kindness as you and all of our Quacker family know, is what matters! Extra thanks with love to you and everyone else, too! :)

I had a burst or 2 of energy. I gathered all the trash and took it down to the curb. Manually mowed the side lawn that the tractor can't handle, it keeps getting stuck for some reason. Then mowed the rest with the rider. Then I weed wacked and sprayed the grass in and outside the garden fence with the homemade weed killer. Then I got the paint out and at least started the foundation out front. It got cloudy and I thought it was going to rain so I stopped. Sun came back out, but I had enough for the day. I'm tired and sore, just want to make dinner and relax. Don says I'm going to have to cook more now that I'll have a new stove. How much do any of you want to bet? lol!

Great picture, @PollyannaMom !

Have a great evening all

I think it's time for Don to 👨‍🍳dear Lynn! Either that or 📱🍕or some other take-out! I'm tired, as usual, just reading about all you did. REST📺PLEASE!

Dad and I have had some newspaper project ideas so it's coming together. I just read the contest rules again and indeed everything needs to be home-made. No stickers or anything with a potential copyright or in need of permission. We will use our mini colorful pom poms as mini scoops of ice cream as a top border, a green 🧽 will become and an ice cream scoop and a padded envelope the cone🍦All we need right now is a brown marker along with possibly a bright, light blue piece of cardstock paper. Definitely is becoming more fun now to put together. More time to do so would be nice but it is what it is and a blessing to be able to do together. I definitely will share a picture of our creation :)

@lynxstch Reading all that you did yesterday made me tired. Please rest a bit. Just because you have a new stove does not mean you need to cook more. It just means that when you do cook it is easier to do so. Maybe Don can make a meal too.

@flyingdumbo127 Sounds like you are having fun making your project. Looking forward to seeing it.

@Kirby Hope James is continuing to do better.

@PollyannaMom Nice that your surprised your Dad for his birthday. Nice pictures.

@Pea-n-Me Your renovation project seems to be going along even though you have had some challenges with faucets etc. It should be nice once it is all done.

Good morning. It is 44 degrees here but going up to the 70s this afternoon. I ended up taking 3 walks yesterday as Kenny came home and asked if I wanted to go for a walk which was walk 3. I walked between 4 and 5 miles total. I usually end up around 3.5 miles a day so I hope the extra burned some calories off. I was feeling exhausted in the early afternoon so I did something I don't usually do that early in the day, watch a Hallmark movie. I think the bad sleep and anxiety are catching up to me. The walking afterwards did a bit of a recharge but still tired. I am so hoping times in the salt room will help not just with the breathing but anxiety and stress. It is an experiment.

Have a good day.
