Welcome to our Quacker family @disney-inspired :welcome:

I'm very late today. The roof is 100% finished, finally . It looks so beautiful. they also cut a huge branch off the Mimosa tree that I had to keep ducking under when mowing. They put the anti skid strips on the ramp, and on the front steps, and even managed to cut me 36 new tomato stakes. When they ordered the furring strips for the roof, they asked for 12 foot ones. Somehow the guy put 16 foot ones in the order for the same price. We had so many left I asked if they would cut them up and put points on them for me. They were happy too. We cleaned up everything and they left. They had been here since 9 this morning. Dave is going to come back some evening and we will go and get new carpet for the porch and then will take the old one up. Then I just need to repaint the foundation and window trims and shutters, and all will look like new.

We had a friend of his who is a painter come yesterday and give us estimates for repainting the inside. She is going to do every room except for the 2 bathrooms, 1 is done, and the other is the next on Dave's list for a remodel. She's going to do ceilings, walls and trims. All I have to do is pick colors. Don told me to pick what I wanted except he wanted a light gray for the living room. I still have the color thing here, we are going Monday to get paint to start.

It's 74 degrees and absolutely perfect outside. I am tired, and am going to take a hot bath and relax. Will be watching the Derby soon. My favorite was scratched this morning. They didn't want to take a chance after he stumbled on the track yesterday, not after all the deaths that have happened to horse this week.
I'll put my daily pics back starting tomorrow, I'm too tired to look for them now.

Have a great evening.

I'm so glad you enjoyed some extra🛌Disney Inspired.

Lynn:grouphug:I was concerned about where you were this morning. Praise God! What happy🏠 news, my friend!

I'm excited to share that dad and I jotted down on our 📅 to go to Kohl's on Tuesday! Just doing that was SUCH a blessing let alone to get to God-willing go 🛍️I had wanted to go to a store before my birthday and now we will. Dad is excited, too. He really needs new 👖An extra Grace from Him is that because I'm now so thin, I will have so many more clothing options. Our plan is to go to Kohl's this Tuesday as i just said and then JC Penney the following, Tuesday May 16th. By going to Kohl's this week, we will also get to earn Kohl's Cash (that promotion as an FYI is through Sunday, May 14th and then redeemable the following week) which we can then use online since we would have an in-store idea of extras we might want to get. 🙏appreciated extra of course for a healthy and safe experience for us. You know, I will share all about it Tuesday afternoon. Thank you all with all my heart for your encouragement and also kind understanding and support to dad and I in all ways. 🐥❤️

@theluckyrabbit I loved the article, thank you for posting it. I read a lot of rescue stories just about daily, and it breaks my heart in two 💔 to know that we have thousands of pets in this country who are euthanized daily because they don’t have homes. It definitely was one of the inspirations for us adopting our guy. I look at pics from him when he was in the shelter (which were on the original listing) and I can see the terror in his eyes at being torn from his people and put into that horrible situation. I think a lot about all he went through and it makes me really happy to see him contented and at home here.

These lines in the story really got me:
The next morning, she woke up to an Instagram message from the rescue that said all the other offers had fallen through, and if no one picked up the German shepherd, he’d be put down in 30 minutes.

When they arrived at the shelter, they were told that Wilbur was three dogs away from being put down.

🥲 The thought that there are lines of animals being killed daily in our shelters just does me in.

At any rate, like the starfish principle, I’m glad we could help this one.

Absolutely precious Grady picture, Pea! It also breaks my heart to think about so many animals, dogs extra since they are in so dear to me, being hurt in any way. God willing should dad and I ever get to move and that new home as some private outdoor space I would love to adopt a rescue dog. Otherwise, I absolutely look forward one day to being able to volunteer with a shelter or dog community program in some way.

Good morning all. Looks like we are back to more rain today, despite their forecast of none until mid week. Glad everything outside is done. Now I can really do some cleaning inside before painting begins. I didn't plan on having it done so soon, but she is giving us a huge break on labor since she knows Dave so well (she lived at his house with them while she was in the process of buying her own house), and she knows how much work we've just had done.

@Pea-n-Me Grady is one gorgeous furbaby--love the picture!

@PollyannaMom Sorry you didn't win anything at the raffle, but glad you had fun and raised money.

As for the Derby. I'm happy but not happy at which horse won. I was happy for the jockey, since it was his 16'th attempt to win. I was sad that my favorite Forte was scratched, but with everything that happened this week, it was a safer thing to do. I am upset and devastated knowing that 7 horses died during Derby Week. This can't be a coincidence, something very odd has to be going on and they need to figure out what it is. If it were all one trainer, or one owner, it would make a little more sense, but they were too many different ones to make any to me.

Have a great day everyone

Good Morning everyone.

I read through the comments but honestly I was so busy this week I forgot to post replies. Between rain-outs and make up games along with regular baseball/softball games for 3 grandkids and Volleyball, plus a Holy Communion and an event at the school for the May Procession I was hopping. Add to that we are having a luncheon today for the church secretary who retired from our church because she had the opportunity to get a full time position elsewhere.

The May Procession was something new for me as it isn't a thing in my church. My Wyatt was chosen to have an actual part in it so of course I had to be there.

QOTD: I did like that one but I had to think. I have seen Jan & Dean, David Cassidy once with Jim and Bobby Sherman twice - I had a very nice aunt who took me to these concerts. I saw David Cassidy in person years later when he was touring around with the Partridge Family bus. My girls both looked at me and asked why I ever thought he was good looking. He had not aged well at that point

I have seen a few in EPCOT over the years but my absolute favorite was Flo & Eddie of the Turtles. I loved their songs and they were still as goofy as they were in the 60's.

I did see Herman's Hermits MINUS Peter Noone and sat through 3 concerts in one night. They were playing a local theater/pub. I will say this was great as again I knew the songs. I did learn that they were NOT fans of Peter Noone though and would not let him tour with them. The "back-up band" actually started the group but then a promoter, if I recall correctly, said they needed a front man and Peter Noone was added. He became the one with all the glory and they sort of resented it a bit. The band was great without him and they got me on the mike a few times as I knew the words to all the songs.

A surprising concert that I went to a couple of time was Ozzy Osborne and Ozzfest. I went to keep my daughter out of harm's way, but I actually loved the whole thing.

Well I am off to church as I have a cake and a "lasagna" casserole to take down and no help today. Hope you all have a great sunday.

:wave:Good Sunday Morning Friends,

Quiet morning here. Dad will shortly be headed to Pavilions along with a few quick other stops. He'll do laundry and Ralph's tomorrow. Tuesday we are looking forward to going to Kohls! What a blessing just thinking about going as it gets closer is. I will never, ever take for granted being able to go out anywhere again as this ongoing pandemic, thank God, eases up. Please, everyone, take care still and stay safe always! Looking forward to watching online worship shortly. I will check back in later. Have a beautiful May Sunday!🌺

Good afternoon slipping thread save to say I hope this find each of you enjoying this Sunday :)

Any form of animal (or any other)! cruelty is simply reprehensible! :(

Dad is safely long home thank God and also was able to save a good deal of money this morning. Coupons sure do add up and especially right now are an extra blessing indeed! We are excited about going to Kohl's to on Tuesday. Thank you all again for your kind encouragement to do that :) Dad and I are going to enter this Dollar Tree Contest Any ideas on what craft we could make? I still want to make some type of wooden house. I also, of course, am sharing about the contest so any of you that want to enter can do so! Enjoy the rest of the afternoon, friends:grouphug:

Good morning. Had to hunt half way down page 2 to find us this morning :(

Bright sunshine and 65 degrees already, heading for 80. Dumped down the rain again last night, and calling for more tomorrow. I'm tired of seeing water everywhere, and it not being the ocean!

I'm supposed to go and get paint for the living room and dining room today, and I don't even feel like it. I'm not thrilled about having someone spending days here doing it, but I know it has to be done, and I can't do it.
Watched Idol last night. Down to final 5 now, and 3 of my favorites made it. So keeping my fingers crossed. Next Sunday is Disney night, and that's always fun to watch.

Have a great day.

Good Morning Friends🐣:grouphug:

Thanks for the thread save, Lynn:hug:So quiet around here yesterday and so far this morning. Many prayers this post finds each of you starting a new week in health and with some joy. Lynn, I wouldn't much care for a few days worker in my home either. I'm thankful that you are able to have someone else 🖌️It does sound like a big job. Be sure to have your windows open a little to allow for ventilation. What colors did you choose? :)

Dad will be doing laundry shortly followed by Ralphs. Tomorrow, God willing, we :car:to Kohls. We're both excited about and just so grateful to even be able to think about that. How blessed we are.

What an extra blessing it was for me yesterday to hear the children at Carol's church sing in worship. I enjoyed seeing about half a dozen kids get a Bible. I love how connected the congregation is to each other, young and old. To me, that is exactly how a church family brought together by Christ at their church should be. WE are so blessed in a similar way, my dear Quacker family that He connected each of us together, too.

Happy Monday🌻I will check back in later :)

Good afternoon, page two thread save! Where is everyone today? 🙏All of you are indeed well and enjoying some extra :sunny:inside of spirit and outside, too. All is well here. We are going to enjoy looking a bit more on Kohls.com this afternoon :) I will check back later. Extra hug to all.

I'm here - Got a slow start this morning, had to go grocery shopping, and was outside with the cats a lot today. Nothing fabulous going on. About to grill pork chops for dinner.

Good morning.:sunny:

Worked all weekend and had a crazy night Friday night at work. The next night our manager called up and said she'll buy us dinner for that night. Well, we're not dumb, we ordered from a Logan Steakhouse and got ourselves some steaks. No pizza for us that night. Figured we saved a new mom's life so we deserved a steak dinner.

Sunday morning at 2:00 am I got a call from Mitchell. Talk about panic when I saw the call on my phone. At 2 am, you tend to think the worst. Anyway, he was at his girlfriend's and was sicker than a dog, throwing up for 6 hours. I told him that he needs to come home for the day at least and I'll pick him up on my way home from work. I grabbed a couple of hours of sleep then I ran up to Kroger to get him some bananas, Gatorade and bread (for toast). He went back to her house later that day and I sent him off with cans of soup and more Gatorade. Checked on him yesterday and he said his stomach is better but his back really hurts, I told him that was sore muscles from all the dry-heaving. He took off work yesterday, I think he was going to go in today. I kinda laughed after he called, he's 22 and still calls his mom when he's sick.

Yesterday I took a vacation day from work and my sisters and I had our annual Sister Day. We do this every year on the anniversary of when our mom died. We're having some trouble thinking of things to do so I suggested we move the date to June 8 starting next year and just have a pool day every year. They were all in agreement and we didn't think our mom would mind because she loved going to the swim club.

It was a nice day this past Friday when I had Mia so we took a walk up to my aunt's house. She said that she was hoping we would stop by. Mia finally met her great- great aunt.

theluckeyrabbit - loved the news article that you posted, such a beautiful dog. I would have went to pick the dog up too but I would have taken all the dogs that were on the list for that day.

Pea-n-Me - great picture of Grady, he's so handsome!

That's it for me, back to work. Have a great day!

Good morning. Guess what it's doing outside, again? Raining,,after the absolultely gorgeous day yesterday. I woke with a pounding headache.

@flyingdumbo127 Good luck at your Kohl's outing Mona!

I was busy with the painter yesterday. We went to Sherwin Williams and got all the paint at one time. I don't know why people buy paint there if they aren't contractors. Even with her 40% discount it cost me almost $600 just for paint and supplies. She patched holes where there were pictures hanging,, a few other spots here and there in the kitchen, and then did the same in the dining room. I had to help her move the roll top desk out. That sucker is heavy. It's made us rethink even keeping it. May look for something smaller just to keep the stuff in there that we use all the time. I want to declutter while we're getting the painting done. I've never seen anyone who doesn't start by painting the ceilings. She was so anxious to see the color on the wall, that she has already painted a wall in the dining room. It's called Silver Strand. It looks gray sometimes, sagey sometimes, and if you set anything blue near it, it picks that up too. I wasn't sure about it, but it's growing on me.

She should be here shortly to start today's work. She isn't coming tomorrow as I have errands and grocery shopping tomorrow. Don somehow pulled/twisted a muscle either in his back or leg. He's asleep in his chair with the heating pad on. He's having a hard time moving. Sister in law is going shopping tomorrow so she's going to take me at the same time.

I am off, have to take the rest of the cutains down and take all the electical outlet and switch plates off in both rooms.

Have a great day everyone
