Wow super quiet around here this Tuesday. Many prayers all of you are warm, well, and enjoying a good Tuesday. Freezing (for me) here but by the Grace of God what a heartwarming day it has been!
Dad and I arrived at Kohls a good twenty minutes before they opened at 9. There's a 99 Cent Only Store in the same strip mall and parking lot as Kohls. My Quacker family, guess who had the best time at 99? Me! My first true store experience since early April 2020! I don't easily feel choked up, but I sure did just going inside that store. I pray to have given extra thanks to God first just seeing the signs for Kohls and 99 let alone going inside each store as well.
It was such fun in general and meant a ton to also get to see as dad said some old, familiar things. The very first thing I found were

shaped napkins which go well with the rainbow design "Celebrate," plates, cups, and napkins dad had gotten at our 99 last weekend. Extra reminder of God and His LOVE. He keeps His promises in all ways and likewise is indeed always with and for, beside us.
Dad took a picture of me holding an oversized, "Happy Birthday," Gift Bag. Today isn't yet my birthday but what an extra gift it has been. I also found the exact

print birthday wrapping paper that dad had been looking for at Dollar Trees for over a year. We got a few extra needed items, too. The only thing they didn't have were any antibacterial hand wipes which is once again a hard-to-find item out here. I waited in the car while dad went through the line.
99 was one of the very last places I went to back in March 2020. At that time, Covid had truly just started, and I remember the overall feeling of unease all around. Stores were out of everything as well. What a time. Dad and I that morning thanks to God were able to first go to a Food 4 Less, now out of business, on the way to a bigger 99 further away from us than the 99 he goes to almost weekly but still here in the city. At Food 4 Less, we were finally able to get paper towels and toilet paper at the limit at that time I believe of 2 of each item. At 99, we spent heading towards $99! More like $50+ Never had we spent so much at a 99. What a blessing it was to be able to do so that day on very needed items.
So, fast forward to this morning. A totally opposite experience of hope and other than dad along with a couple others wearing masks, "normal" times. Extra testimony to the Love and Mercy of God and to His Truth that He makes all things and us new. Absolutely He uses all He has called according to His purpose when we trust in Him as written in Romans.
Kohls itself was very disappointing. Dad and I agreed that the quality of clothing had gone down since late 2019 or very early 2020 which would have been our last trip to a Kohls. The women's clothing was mostly bigger sizes. There was one almost pair of jeans I liked. The problem was that they were too big and we didn't see a smaller size. Most of the women's jeans either were in bigger sizes, had torn knees (I have never understood the appeal of that. Honestly to me, that comes across as even more disrespectful to those who truly are not able to afford ANY jeans or for whom, like dad and I, money is tighter), or had the hidden slimming elastic thick waistband which by the extra grace of God, being so thin now, I don't need or even like since to me a thicker waistband feels like a rubber band! It meant so very much to have the privilege of looking around and actually trying on a few things.
We did get a colorful new kitchen rug for under $6 thanks to the kind Kohls chat agent who gave me my $10 birthday reward that I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. You do have to make a purchase of recent times in order to receive it which, of course, I hadn't. Our $20 Kohls Gift Card doesn't expire so we will use that another time.
We steered clear as best we could of others. Overall, I felt comfortable being in both places, especially 99. I would only ever go to a store right at open. Thank God, so far, we both feel fine. I'm just a little tired having gotten up earlier this morning due to being excited
Dad and I both are now extra looking forward to going to JC Penney God willing, next Tuesday. Penney's always had a bigger selection than Kohls. Plus, much better overall prices. Added blessing is that since we spent under $6 at Kohls, we will have the rest of the money we had brought with us intending to use at Kohls for Penney's plus the Penny's gift card we got as a credit card reward and my birthday free $10 coupon to come.
Otherwise, I would love to sometime go to Target and possibly Old Navy. We both need new

especially, of course, dad who goes out. I don't need jeans to sit here on our
All good and how sincerely blessed we were to get to go and of course come home safely, too.
Enjoy the rest of the day, friends. Thank you again for all your prayers and encouragement, too.
