Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

:thanks:Pea, I will :)

PollyannaMom, 💌costs sure do add up quickly. It means a lot to me to help especially you and other Quackers, and of course all in general save at the post office. Encouraging faithful kind happy mail is definitely something I pray to do. Thank you extra dear friend for my birthday card that came this afternoon. I will PM you after I open it on Friday🌸

Dad, thank God, is safely home. He did go to the post office and was also able to get bread and the deal on Aquafina at Rite Aid, too.

Love and Sweet Dreams to All.

Good Thursday morning!:daisy:

Another beautiful day today, high of 83 :sunny:. Rain rolls in tomorrow.

I'm working a 1/2 day today, need to go home and clean out my kitchen cabinets. I found tiny, irritating ants in my cabinets last night >:(. I pulled everything out and sprayed the inside. Today I'm going to wipe them down, put new shelf paper in and then put everything back.

Ran some errands last night, dropped off the baby present to my friend, and made it to Evan's game. They lost and Mia wasn't impressed, she fell asleep sitting up while I was holding her.😴

Bobbiwoz - have a great time on the Dream, we loved it, so much fun. 🛳️

That's about it. Need to finish up some work so I can get out of here by noon. Have a great day!

Good morning. Same weather here as @footballmouse , sunny and near 85. I am stiff and sore today, I knew I would be after overdoing it yesterday. But I have to be inside helping the painter move things around. Don can't do it, she can't do it herself, so that only leaves me, lol

Planning on a pizza tonight. A lady in Aldi's was buying some of their frozen pizza's yesterday and she said they were better than DiGiornio's. I'm not a frozen pizza fan, but I got one of their 3 meat stuffed crust ones to try.

Have a great day everyone

Good Thursday morning Friends,

Footballmouse, oh no to the ants, yuck. May you solve that pesty problem quickly. I hope Evan's team⚽does better in their next game. I am glad you're only working half a day today.

Lynn, please take care of yourself. The painter who you are paying, of course, should not expect you to do any of the work unless she is paying you in return? :D Seriously, don't over do it. Enjoy your 🍕tonight.

Quiet and overcast morning here. Dad is going to do :laundy:followed by Ralphs 🛒This afternoon, he so kindly is going to put up a birthday banner so it will greet me tomorrow morning. We will also get out birthday paper plates, etc. Fun touches to make extra memories.

Have a safe, warm, and happy Thursday, everyone. I will check back in later.

Good morning!

We had stir fry last night and it was ok, not the greatest I’ve had. I had boneless chicken thighs on hand and it’s probably better to use tenders. But lots of good vegetables and we used the stir fry rice that Rice A Roni makes.

Toto has a little infection by his mouth. DD and I just cleaned it out - what a job! He hates his mouth touched, so we had to wrap him in a towel and hang him over the kitchen sink. She held him and I used the sprayer to gently soak it and get the guck out then used surgical soap on it and scrubbed. (Such a good boy, he didn’t try to bite me! He got a piece of Swiss cheese afterward for being so good!) He has a vet appt but we took pics of it before we cleaned it to show the vet. Weird he’s been getting these skin infections. Idk if it’s from the grooming or if he’s allergic to something? Groomer did say she sees it sometimes w dogs who use ceramic bowls, which he has, so I bought him new bowls that are stainless. I’m guessing the vet will give him another antibiotic shot which runs around $150, plus look at it under the microscope (lab fee), and who knows what else. Should be a $300 visit! Like everything else, vet costs have gone up so much. 🥹

@footballmouse I was afraid you might say Carly needed ACL surgery. A friend just had it on his dog and that was $6800! Often they say the other leg needs to be done afterward, too. All of this doesn’t bode well for pets - people will eventually just avoid going to the vet‘s. Not sure if I mentioned it cost me $1500 for the two dogs for annual spring visits this year. In years past it was $300 for two large dogs. That included shots and heartworm pills for one dog, and treatment for Toto’s previous infection.

Anyway, I‘ve been shopping for window shades and I finally found some that are what I want. They’re nice - grey with a subtle embossed leave pattern. They won’t clash with the crazy carpet squares, lol. Quite affordable, and on sale too - some of the other shades I’ve seen are $200+ each! They had either a dark grey or a light grey - this is the light grey. I don’t want it to feel dark since it’s a lower level room with just three windows. We are going for the barn feel and it’s coming together and looking good.

Ok what the hey, I’ll show you my crazy carpet squares, you’ve waited long enough! Now remember there are light grey wood walls, light grey trim, these shades, bookcases will also be light grey (same as trim), and sofas are white with some wooden furniture, like tables and such. DS bought a big-a$$ TV, price was the same online as the smaller one so he figured, why not. I just shake my head but I imagine it will be fun to watch movies on that thing. Oh, and lamps are white distressed wood (all of which we’ve had). I purposely kept the window shades “soft“ as there is so much wood. I will find some nice coordinating pillows for the sofas, too, maybe some with a local vibe. He is planning to have a “baseball wall” with his playing memorobilia, awards and pictures (one large one I had made for him for college graduation, since he had no ceremony due to Covid, is him intensely pitching with a quote underneath about hard work, it came out so nice and he loves it; a keeper). He also wants a palm tree 😂 he loves and misses FL, lol. Bathroom will have same wooden walls and I have to pick out some floor tiles, Keeping it simple and probably doing some vinyl floor tiles that coordinate w the carpet squares. Last, we’ll be cleaning out the other room that’s for storage.

Let me know what you think! (Keep in mind the big picture and the feel I’m going for!) 😝

(ETA This is just a picture of the box.)

Have a good Thursday, everyone! 🐥

Ugggh! - Sorry you have to deal with that. We had pantry moths once in our old house, so I know the pain.

A lady in Aldi's was buying some of their frozen pizza's yesterday and she said they were better than DiGiornio's.
I've always had good luck with their pizzas when I've bought them.

Let me know what you think! (Keep in mind the big picture and the feel I’m going for!)
I think it's going to come out really good! Hugs to Toto, though...and you too! - I agree vet bills have gone up a lot.

@Pea-n-Me I love those shades! I thought when you said crazy colored carpet, I was expecting something a little crazier. I think those are pretty! It's going to be a good focal point for the whole room. Giving me thoughts of doing something like that in our basement. You're doing a great job and it's coming along very nicely.

Thanks! Same to you. I will PM you with more info.

Page two thread save to wish all of you a good evening with very sweet dreams, too. Bobbiwoz and Snowysmom, prayers all is going safely and enjoyably for both of you! AuntieMe3, thinking of you extra as well since you haven't posted in a while. Prayers all is well!

Dad kindly got me some birthday flowers this afternoon from our neighborhood 99 Cent Only Store. Every so often, even a place like 99 does have pretty flowers.

The sweetest thing happened this morning at Ralphs. Dad ran into our friend Aurora who works there and who after 3 years I recently got to see for a few minutes on our way home after my last dentist appointment. Aurora always asks dad how I'm doing and looks out for him which means the world to me especially at stores these days for dad going their solo. Aurora knew my birthday was this week when dad told her that it's tomorrow, she insisted on getting me something. At first, she suggested flowers. Dad told her that he had actually just looked at the flower election himself and didn't see any that really looked healthy (and didn't cost $30+) He found a box of my favorite Kroger Brand Hot Chocolate that Aurora knows I like since we have shared some with her in the past. She further insisted, when she realized how cheap it is, on getting me two boxes. Truly such a kind lady. Dad found out that she will be working tomorrow. We ended up baking the cookies today to make things easier for him tomorrow and so that I am able to on my birthday, which means so much to me to get to do, share a lot of them with either someone in need by Ralphs and/or the Fire Department. Whichever we don't do this time, we will definitely do in the future likewise with the feeding in the park ministry at church. Plus well bring Aurora a gift bag containing a Mother's Day/Thank You/Card, bag of extra cookies, two cocoa packets, and some rainbow shaped napkins we got at 99 on Tuesday too. Birthday gifts to me right there :)

James got to ring the bell today and leave the hospital. He still has a long road ahead before he's declared cancer free but he is off to a good start.

Lil Joe celebrated his 7th birthday on Tuesday and Lou Lou celebrated her 5th one today. Plus, she graduated from preschool. Add James' news and this week has been full of joy.

Hello. Just wanted to stop by quick to say "hi". I have been trying to keep up, but just don't really feel like posting much these days. Still so much going on and I'm just trying to make it to the end of the crazy school year. Glad to read some good news for some and of course continued prayers for those who are still in the middle of the tough stuff.

Also...Mona...

That's wonderful!!!!

Good morning.

First let me just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONA!!! May you have a wonderful day and many more to come.

@Kirby - Great news about James and Happy Birthday to your grandkids.

@Pea-n-Me - I love those carpet tiles. If I didn't have issues with my basement floor being concrete I would consider something like that. We are going with the same type of laminate that we put in on the first floor.

It has been crazy here the last couple of weeks. My aunt fell 2 weeks ago and it wasn't great news there. She broke the upper bone ibn her arm in 2 places and bruised her face. The arm needed surgery. When my mom showed me the pictures my aunt sent her I was sick. I have never seen a face so bruised, the whole right side was purple and her arm was so deeply bruised it looked black and it was very swollen. I could have expected it if it were where she broke the arm but it was her forearm and hand. She is in a rehab facility for a bit as they weren't sure she had nerve damage in the arm and she's getting PT and OT. She's the only sibling my dad has left and is such a sweetheart. My mom and dad plan on going down to help her when she is released from the rehab facility.

Good news wise Anthony has been bumped up to Varsity. He has mixed emotions because he won't get much playing time right now but the Varsity team made the play-offs so that part is exciting.

Wyatt is playing baseball and evidently is quite good. I haven't been able to get to his games as my daughter just says they are on her calendar. They are ion the calendar, BUT NO times and no locations.

Ella is playing softball for school this year with her 2 best friends. Her team has shocked us both by winning the first 2 games. I have never been so proud of her and her teammates as I was this past wednesday. The other team had a very heavy special needs player. The poor child could barely walk. The team and the coaches conspired with the umpire to make sure she was never called out. Ella's one friend is the pitcher and she walked her without making it seem obvious. Then the girls made sure to fumble the ball a bit so this girl could make it around the bases. She scored both times and both teams cheered and clapped for her. I was so proud of them and that they truly understand sportsmanship. I just hope all the other teams they face are as kind to this little girl. Ella also made the playoff with her volleyball team.

I have been busy. Now to fine tune the Disney trip and get ready for Ella's graduation. The "3 Stooges" As I call the girls are going out to dinner with their parents and I have been honored with an invitation to join them. Ella was concerned that I might have trouble with my allergy but I told her that even if I just have salad I would be honored to be there, As crazy as that girl can be at times she is turning into a really lovely young lady.

The best news is Crystal finally found a job. I'm so happy for her as she has been looking all sporing and had interviews but no offers. She is thrilled that she will be earning her own money and won't have to ask her parents for everything she wants. She is growing up.

Well I am off to do laundry. One of the things we have decided is that when the basement is done this winter I may finally get a new washer and dryer. I like getting out to the laundromat for an hour of alone time but I have to admit I miss the convenience of my own washer and dryer in the house.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning all. First--To Mona

@Kirby So happy for James, continued prayers for a full cancer free recovery. Happy birthday to the grandkids.

Another beautiful day here. mid to upper 80's, calling for rain all day tomorrow. Painter just got here and she says she's going to finish the walls and trim in both the dining room and living room. If she does, we'll pay her for both rooms. Then she's doing to do the kitchen. Computer room after that, and then the 2 bedrooms. She said the ceilings will be the last things. I was supposed to have a cardiologist appt Tuesday, but they just called and changed it again, for the third time. He's going to be in surgery that day. It's just a 6 month follow up, which started to be in March and will now be on May 31, lol

Have a wonderful Friday
