Pumpkins, and candy, and Mickey, oh my! (TR complete!)

Wait till you see some of the ones from the mini meet. :lmao:

Even though it depresses the heck out of me to think, it's nice that you are doing that for your kids.

I looked perfect in all the mini meet pictures. ;)

I did notice a lot of funny candid shots though. :rotfl:

Love the candy corn stuff. I don't think they had all of that back in 2006 (the last time I was there for fall decor.)

You don't like the tower of terror?? Me neither! I've been on it twice (and once at WDW) and it scares the beejeezus out of me!

Do you like California Screamin'?

Aww...I miss that soup so much! It's probably my favorite broccolli cheese soup ever. I love that it also has califlower in it. It's so good to eat on a cool night. Love it! Now I'm craving it.

I really think I need to try a tinkerbell twist. But if it's not warm out in January, I probably won't be in the mood for one.

I love going on rides with first-timers. It's really fun to see people's reactions.

Too bad I never knew about this message board back when I lived near disneyland. I could have gone to the group meets in the parks.

I love Monsters INC. I think the ride is so cute. I am like you with the pictures. I used to run from all of them and when I was so sick I decided that I didn't want to miss out on any of the pictures.

Beth, you always look like a model in the way that you eat. We'll see if it's true during the meet;)

Love the girls cute Tinkerbell shirts.
You saw some neat characters that morning!!!!
:goodvibes Glad you decided to be in pictures. I hate pictures of myself too, but I try not to think about how bad I will look & just be in the moment. I am a huge scrapbooker & picture taker. My DH wouldn't put up with him being the only one photographed all the time.:rotfl:
Oh my gosh that soup looks so good. That is what I am having for lunch one day for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm kind of scared to see what March brings! :rotfl2:

I've been on the ToT in WDW a few times. I'd never been on the one in DCA.....well, yet. Gotta keep reading. LOL

The Broccoli and Cheese soup is so good. Although now it's a toss up between that and the baked potato soup at Carnation Cafe. They are both so good.

I hope it's warm enough for you to try a Tink Twist. They are different for sure, but good.

I love Monsters Inc, but for some reason it's usually closed when we are there. Not sure what it could be that keeps going wrong with it.
As for the pics, what I regret the most is not taking more photos with the kids when they were babies. I have lots of pics of them when they were little, but none of us together. :sad2:

Beth, you always look like a model in the way that you eat. We'll see if it's true during the meet;)
:lmao: Um yeah, I don't think too many models shovel the food into their mouths like there is no tomorrow. :rotfl2:

I know, she does huh!? With her long pretty hair over her shoulder! She should be a food model!!! :thumbsup2
If I get to eat the food, I'm all for it! :rotfl:
As for my hair, it's all smoke and mirrors. About a year ago I started losing my hair. Docs said it was stress. So I figure if this keeps up, in another year or so, I'll be ready for some wigs and then I can be a redhead one day, a brunette the next, and Dolly Parton another! :rotfl2:

Yes, we did. I love seeing all my favorite characters, but sometimes it's neat when you see someone out of the ordinary. Even if you don't know their name! :rotfl:

Like Britney Spears! When she was bald and minus all the craziness! Woo!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I just spent another half an hour updating, only to lose it all somehow. UGH!!!! I am so mad. I'll update later I guess. No more time now.

I hate it when that happens.

Well, it was the Halloween party and I had all sorts of wonderful things to say about meeting up with you. Oh well. Guess it's time for a rewrite. :rolleyes1

I guess the DIS knew you were lying! ;)

After spending most of the day at California Adventure, we went back to the hotel for some rest. For some reason I didn't get as much rest as I wanted, which unfortunately came back to haunt me later that night. We got our costumes on and were ready to go.

Adam had a shirt that said "This is my costume". Teens!
Noelle was an 80's girl.
Lindsey was Pocahontas.
Hannah was Sleeping Beauty.
I was a devil and Ruben had on a black shirt with skeleton bones on it.

First stop was Mimi's Cafe for dinner. We have one not more then 5 minutes from us in Vegas, and yet we'd never been. So we finally decided to see what the fuss was about. It didn't disappoint. The food and service were good.

Ruben ordered the French Quarter burger which has avocado, bacon, double swiss cheese & 1000 island on grilled garlic sourdough parmesan. It looked so good and he said it was.

I ordered a turkey club sandwich but didn't get any pics of it. It was good though and came with tons of fries. I'd definitely go back there again.

We made our way to DCA and these are the lines that greeted us when we arrived:

It went quickly though and before long we were let into the plaza area.

We headed for the back lot area, but the line to get into the Animation building was literally ALL the way down the street! Yikes, no thanks! We spied the Princesses down at the end of the street with only about 4 people in line so we made our way down there for some pics.

We hung out in the back lot area for awhile and found some shorter candy lines. We didn't do much this night since we'd been on the rides earlier that day. We made our way through the Redwood Creek Trails for more candy, and behind the Grizzly Rapids. The lines were much shorter in those areas.

We saw the Queen from Snow White and got in line to take a pic with her, but half way through she was replaced with Lady Tremaine and the stepsisters. They turned out to be way more fun! Too bad they aren't in the parks all the time.
When it was our turn with them, they looked at the girls outfits and asked if that was all they had to wear to the ball. Then the stepmother fingered one of Noelle's necklaces and asked one of the stepsisters, "Aren't these your beads?" to which she replied, "No, they are far too ugly." :rotfl:

They were a hoot and had the kids cracking up.

The kids wanted to do Golden Zephyer so Ruben and I parked our behinds on some nearby benches to people watch and take some pics.

At that point I decided to call Wendy (wendylady36) to see what she was up to since I knew she was going solo to the party that night. She wasn't even there yet! LOL She'd fallen asleep and was still on her way. I told her were we were and before long there she was! She seemed nice enough, normal too. But then first appearances can be deceiving. :rolleyes1

I said if she wanted to she was welcome to hang with us, although I did warn her my kids were on a candy mission that night and that was pretty much all they cared about.
We walked and chatted, and stopped at the treat stations as we came to them.

Along the way we stopped to watch Mickey's calvacade go by. It was cute but too bad they can't just extend it into a full parade like in WDW.

DSCF5953.jpg

After that we all made our way to the Pirate's area for some pics with Capt. Hook.

We stopped to watch some kids dancing for a while, but my kids weren't really feeling it, so we moved on to the talking scarecrows.

We kept stopping at every treat station we saw, including finally going through the Animation building.
And one more picture with the Princesses.

I was really dragging by this point. The past few days of go, go, go, seemed to hit me all at once and I was ready to go. It was almost time anyway, so we made our way to the front of the park, said our good byes to Wendy, and headed back to the hotel.

Our candy haul from that night. Over 25 lbs worth!

Overall, the party was nice. It was crowded but nothing outrageous. I'm not sure I'd go again. I'm really on the fence about that. It cost us about $150 extra to all go to this party and I'm just not sure it's worth it. :confused3

I'm glad we went because I'd always wanted to try it out. And since only I will have an annual pass next year, this party might be a nice way to get some Disney for the kids without paying for regular park tickets. I don't know. The lines for the rides were pretty long, so had we not already done most of the rides that day, I might have been more irked at that.

I guess if someone had never been, I'd say it's worth checking out one time. Beyond that, I'm just not sure.

Anyway, up next....... OMG, the crowds! And a mini meet! :)

Lindsey was SO cute as Pocahontas! The rest of your group had great costumes too. :goodvibes

Mimi's is really yummy for breakfast. I've never really cared for their lunch or dinner, but then again I haven't eaten anything but breakfast there for years.

Those lines probably would have scared me away if I had seen them! :scared1: Luckily it was walk in when I finally arrived. :rotfl:

Your pictures are awesome. :thumbsup2 Although, I guess they are Ruben's pictures. ;)

Thank you again for letting me tag along with your family, I had a really fun time with all of you! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, all that candy still shocks me! I took my pitiful pile to work and let them all have mine. How did you ever get rid of it all!?

Wendy, we added all that candy to the two bags we already had at home. Then on Halloween Ruben was worried we'd still be short, so he bought FOUR more bags and added that.
Guess what? We gave it ALL away!! We had a lot of trick or treaters. And I have to admit we gave each kid at least 3 pieces (some much more towards the end) so they were all happy with our house. LOL

The line to get in was scary, but it went surprisingly fast. Did you know Callie was there that night too? She and her family were the first ones in the line they were in! She got there like an hour early, I think, and they were the first ones on TSMM. :worship:

I'm glad you had fun with us even though we didn't do much. Honestly, all the kids wanted was candy since we'd been there all day already. Go figure. :confused3 ;) And I was so tired, I was happy just to people watch and soak up the Halloween decorations.

Oh, and yes, the pics are Ruben's. He's the family photographer which is why he's rarely in the pics.

I think you might be my only reader left.....:rotfl:

Love the web on the Stinger and the jck o' lantern on Screamin'. Tell Ruben great pics.
