Pumpkins, and candy, and Mickey, oh my! (TR complete!)

I want to try the potato soup so bad. I will be trying it next trip. I enjoy your trip reports so much it is almost like being there.

I am totally about splitting snacks! At Food and Wine last week my Mom, my friend and his kids' babysitter and I split a bunch of items and it was great to get a taste of several different things. (We all had our own alcoholic drinks, however!!! Yum!)
Ooooh, another snacking partner. :cool1:
Splitting is just the way to go. I'm convinced of that now. :thumbsup2

I know. I only had a few bites of the funnel cake, because I was on my way to the dinner, but I'm sure I gained a pound for each bite. LOL

I love Disneyland. I've been going there at least once or twice a year since I was 7 years old. And after I got married, Ruben and I had annual passes for 2 of the years we lived in Burbank so we'd go almost once a month. I can't even tell you how many times I've been there. It's so comforting and familiar, and has memories from every stage of my life. So I guess Disneyland is sort of like a second home to me. :goodvibes

That's a perfect description of how I feel about DL.

My "kids" love that peanut butter sandwich and still order it.

:rotfl: that you checked out the secret bathroom. Last year, I recommended it to a mom whose little boy was doing the "pee pee dance" in the long line for the bathroom by Rancho del Zocalo. She asked me if I worked in the park. No, I just am obsessed with it.

Our family is going the end of December/beginning of January. I was able to get a great rate at the DL hotel for 1/1-1/4. We haven't stayed there since our honeymoon. The kids are so excited. So am I!

Loved the update. How cute are Chip & Dale in their Halloween costumes?
:scared1: at those crowds around Haunted Mansion. Hope our time in December isn't crowded like that.
I so have to have that potato soup. I didn't make a ressie for Carnation Cafe for dinner..........should I do that Beth?
Also, please tell me about this hidden bathroom. Is it something cool I need to check out?

Great update, Beth! Isn’t the baked potato soup just super yummy. I had some last month too and I was drooling while I was eating!

Fairy Godmother! I don’t think I have ever seen her just walking around the park! I would have been “Where have you been all my life, lady!?!?!?!”

So the secret bathroom is the one that’s at the dead end right next to Carnation Café? Every time we eat there I always see people go that way, not into the store, but to the bathroom! I’ve never been in there, I need to go check it out.

OK so I think instead of taking my kids to DL in August.
I always try to get out of town the wk of the fair.
But I think this year I will take them for Halloween, or atleast sometime in October. FUN!! FUN!!! FUN!!

Beth I love your report and great minds must think alike!! My youngest LOVES tinkerbell and has BOTH of those tinkerbell shirts that your twins have!! Let me guess Penneys! ;) LOL! At least I know that is where the black one came from and I am not sure about the pink one but we have that one too!

Can't wait to see the rest of your report! :)

Ah, so you know how I feel about DL then. :goodvibes
I am soooo happy you are going to be able to go!!! That's excellent news!!! :yay:

I love all the characters in their costumes. It was neat to see the different ones.

That was the first day we'd had bad crowds, but man, were they horrible!! I was glad to escape to the island for a bit. I hope they are not like that when you are there. Honestly, when it's that bad, it's just not fun to be there. I was glad we'd had a full week already and done everything.

Yes, you must try the soup!! Call Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463) to make priority seating reservations.

The secret bathroom isn't really a huge secret. You can go to youtube and do a search for Disneyland secret bathroom and you'll find it. But it's something that gets a lot of talk on the DL board so I wanted to see it again. We found it for the first time in June. It's nice to know about when the others are jam packed!

Thanks and yes, the soup is delicious. I can't believe I never ordered it before.

Seeing the Fairy Godmother was cool. She was so sweet. After she took a pic with the girls, she called me over and saw the birthday button I was wearing and she told Ruben, "I want you to take my picture with Beth, because Beth is special too." :rotfl: Ummm, ok. LOL I guess she was trying to be motherly, but it cracked me up. (I hated the way I came out so I didn't post it :rolleyes1 )

I know which bathroom you are talking about and that's not it. We went in that one too before our meal. The secret one is over near Carnation Gardens, you know where they do the dancing on Saturdays. That's all I'm saying. ;)

Oh, you should!! They'd love it. The whole park is decorated so cool. It really gets you in the spirit of things. Don't go too near Halloween and try to avoid a weekend if possible, because October has now become a very popular month to go. But it's great!

Thanks, and yep, those tees are from JCPenney!! :rotfl: :thumbsup2

Thanks for reading along everyone. I am going to try to update with the mini meet information either tonight or tomorrow. :)

I agree it was crazy busy Friday. We were not fortunate enough to already have a week under our belt by that time. However, we were lucky that most like to sleep in on vacation. It was not bad at all in the morning. Friday night was something else though. I am only up to Friday around noon in my trip report. The crowds are coming, though.

Enjoying your trip report. You all sure look like you had a great time.

WHAT!? I'm going to find this bathroom now. I'm on a mission!

Thanks, we had a blast the whole trip. I miss it!! LOL It's fun reliving it through this TR.

I love reading your TR and your kids are just beyond adorable. That one pic with Riley and Sleeping Beauty was so sweet, and Kaleb with Pooh Bear.......awww, it's such a keeper!!

I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of a "secret bathroom."

Seriously though, every bathroom I went to in October was PACKED! :scared1:

I think the secret bathroom only exists during the off season. ::yes::

:rotfl: The secret bathroom was empty when we went to it. You're just not "going" at the right times. ;)

Great trip report. :surfweb: I've really enjoyed reading along, but I'll have to say, I don't know about all that food porn... I guess I'll just have to manage with that. ;)

I am glad you and your family had such a great time. Your kids are darling. Noelle's 80's costume was priceless. :thumbsup2
