PTR-Cheating on Mickey w/Harry!...OMG! Only a month to go!

Alison, you're all over the place.

Maybe you can schedule in a massage this week?? You need to take some time for yourself.

Ugh, I had a response all typed up and the DIS ate it! I'm hoping to get a massage on Thursday. Tomorrow my laundry boy comes so it's best that I'm around the house, plus another friend is going to come by and assemble this computer table for Fran. I doubt it will work, but at least trying will make her somewhat happy.

She's a little better at least now she's depressed that she can't do anything before she was just comatose. It may be better that we aren't going, there's someone on the WFD thread inquiring about renting my points. I'm willing to rent my VGC and VWL for use wherever, but I want to keep my BCV points so for the gamers meet in 2013 PIO and I have as many points as possible.

We could use the money too. We have two vacant apartments both are remodeled within the last 15 months by the same contractor and he did a gorgeous job, but there are minute things we need to do before putting them on the market and I need her with me to do that. Then we just had a tenant die. Actually this was expected and when we got the loan, rennovation of her apartment was included in the amount. What was NOT included in the amount of the loan was the amount of money than Fran has squandered on eBay. I agree that I have some nice necklaces purchased in the last year, but my necklaces are the equivalent of 3 months of her spending on eBay.

Keep in mind that ACDSNY had her eye on one of the necklaces and INSTEAD she did a Panamanian cruise! Necklace, cool, Panamanian Cruise, even cooler, squandered on ebay? :sad2: We don't need that many pins, Mickey phones, figureines, but yet she keeps buying them. :scared1:

Over the years I have joked about Fran's convalesences that at least it keeps her off eBay because you folks have NO idea how much she has spent. I bet if they had a "Best Customer" award, she would be in the top 10. Once we get these two units rented we'll have plenty more money for her to go crazy, heck then we can rent another storage locker for all the stuff she has acquired! I just know that once she eventually passes, I will set up shop at the CW reenactments, Cowboy Action Shooting events, and multiple garage sales, and I will probably make over five digits on all the crap we have. Disneyana? This collection has got to be worth six figures!

Every time she gets sick like this I comtemplate what it is going to be like to liquidate all the crud that we have stored. She has dreams to put a second story on her father's house once we have some liquid cash. I hope she makes it there. I hope by then same sex couples have inheritance rights becuase if she goes before that, I will have tax nightmare on my hands. But here I go into the dark recesses of my fears when Fran gets sick.

She will get better and hopefully the country will turn around and I won't have any worries.

:rotfl2: That'll be the day!

Alison - IF there are no takers from your Disfriends, I'm sure you'll find an Aussie or Kiwi willing to rent from you.

Glad that Fran is progressing; even if it is slowly.

Alison,

I have put points up on the DVC boards and hand no problem renting them there...

I actually have some I was thinking of renting also..

I've already got BCV points set aside for you! I've got the points that I didn't use this year that I can use next year for F&W and maybe then some. Even if we choose to stay for a week at BCV next year, I'll still have 113 to bank into 2013 giving me 313 points for our gamers meet trip. If I stay at BCV for a week in 2012, I'm going to want to go elsewhere after/before BCV in 2013 so that will be plenty of points. You mentioned wanting to stick with a studio which is 107 pts weekly, so there's plenty to go around! :thumbsup2 However, if you do have any idea of how long you might want to stay at BCV, it might help knowing that say in the next 10 days, since my booking window opens up then. :rolleyes1

Alison,

I have put points up on the DVC boards and hand no problem renting them there...

I actually have some I was thinking of renting also..

One of the WFD ladies contacted me on FB about possibly renting. I would only do it with someone I "knew". I figure anyone on the threads I hang out on is OK, with the exception of Grumpy Pirate! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If I don't rent them it's OK too. They can all be banked into next year. We don't have our Spring 2013 plans firmed up yet, but I think it will be Aulani. If you've seen the point charts there, they're nuts. If I have points to burn we could go in Magic Season, if not then we'd go in Choice season. If I'm putting out the points to stay there, I'm getting an Ocean View One bedroom. I want to watch the Sunset from our balcony and we would probably make dinner in the room on a few occasions.

Also if I bank the VGC points into the 2012 UY, that means I would have 388 points for that year. I could potentially book all six weekends for the F&W Festival provided it comes back again! :rotfl2: Hmmmm, but then if I want to stay every weekend for F&W we would have to go to Hawaii in March (Magic Season) or June (Humid Season). Hmmmmm. I hope the 2013 point charts come out soon! :scratchin

So I thought you all might get a kick out of this. You don't get treatment like this in a hospital. This is how the IV medication is administered. (She'd kill me if she knew I posted a picture of this!)

I have no idea what I am going to do with mine....I have some that are banked now that have to be used next year....

:lmao: I love it! Is that the newer kitty making himself at home?! I'm also loving the Cheshire cat pillow. I actually made Cheshire Cat Cupcakes for the neighbor kids for Halloween and i'll post them whenever I make it back to my TR :lmao:

Thanks! At this stage, I was thinking about a week or 7 nights at BCV. Its a good spot for touring round the World.

I think he and I are "friends" on the Dis. So, does that mean I have to stick up for him??? Let me think about that some more.....

WOW! That's great treatment. The purrbags look so cute.

Actually the white one in that picture is alto, her sister Soprano is her twin only with blue eyes instead of yellow. Tenor became a feral cat in our yard, and baritone ran away. The striped one is Pascha who has a cancerous tumor on her head. She's too old to have anything done to it, so we just let her have whatever she wants until she seems to be hating life. I don't know where the young guy has got to today. :scratchin He was playing pretty vigorously earlier, so he's probably napping somewhere!

She likes her Cheshire Cat pillows, we have two, one in each apartment

Ha ha :rotfl: I would not either...

I'm lucky that we have Disneyland nearby because I can always just call up and troll for available dates if we need to use up points. I'm thinking if we get that far ahead I could use the points for a cruise if I can't find someone to rent them to. I'm playing around with my points and how many I can use starting next fall. I'm sure I won't have any problem finding places to use them. I just need to keep Fran healthy enough to go!

I'm sure she is healing much faster with the kitties around than if she was in the hospital.

Perfect! Those points are reserved for you. Aren't they sweet? They love to lay on Fran. I move around too much so they don't sit on me as often.

So earlier today I got off the phone with Member Services and have made all my reservations for the May trip. Perhaps I should start a PTR for that one and get Arline on the DIS! :scratchin

Well if I do, I can copy and paste this from here. So here is our schedule for May

Tuesday, May 1 (my birthday)

Fly out of LAX to MCO
DME to AKL Kidani (One Bedroom Savannah View)
7:40 PM Sanaa
We will have groceries delivered to the resort so we don't waste precious park time, grocery shopping.

Wednesday, May 2

Breakfast in the room
11:00AM Fran and I will pick up the rental car letting Arline watch the critters
We'll have a quick lunch in the room before heading out to a park. TBD. AK has EMH that morning, so if we're ambitious we can hit a few rides before getting the rental car.
Dinner will be at Raglan Road, but I haven't been able to make the reservation yet.

Thursday, May 3
Again we'll have breakfast in the room
We'll try to make it to AK at rope drop.
Lunch will be in the park, probably Flame Tree, but we'll play it by ear.
4PM we want to do the culinary tour of Boma & Jiko
Hopefully we'll have some time to relax after that
7:10 Dinner at Jiko

Friday, May 4
Resort switch day. The plan is to be up at 6AMish check out, head to BLT and check in on our way to Discovery Cove. (One Bedroom MK view)
We'll spend the day at DC
Hopefully by the time we're ready to leave we'll have a text with our room assignment.
We'll be cooking dinner in the room that night. Something easy.

Saturday, May 5
Light breakfast in the room
Head to Epcot
11:30AM at Via Napoli
Stay until we need a nap
7:15 Hoop de doo Revue

Sunday, May 6
Rope Drop at MK
10:00AM Crystal Palace
Back to the resort, maybe enjoy the pool
6:00 Victoria & Albert's main Dining Room
Food Coma

Monday, May 7
Breakfast in the Room
Day at Epcot
Lunch at a Quick Service
Back to the Resort
Dinner 7:05PM at 'Ohana, just a Monorail ride away!

Tuesday, May 8
Pack up Check our bags, and catch DME back home.

I figure this is a reasonable travel plan. I'm the most healthy and mobile person in the bunch. We've got two days in Epcot, one in MK, one at AK, a day at Discovery Cove and one day up in the air. We're not planning on any nights in the parks, and the MK closes at 10 every night that there are no EMH. Does anyone know how much before closing that Wishes takes place?

I'd like to be back in our room so that we can see Wishes from our MK view more than once. The first night we're in the room all night, so we'll definitely see them. Not sure on the HDDR night since we'll have a drive to the show and loading the scooter(s) in and out of the car. V&A's we should be out of there by 9PM, and hopefully 'Ohana's too. Last time we watched them from 'Ohana but it was a very limited view. Didn't matter because we were in such a food coma from that Bread Pudding!

So anyways, that's the plan!

These plans sound very doable and fun. I think you have great dining plans. :thumbsup2

Your plans for your May trip look awesome! :goodvibes

As it turns out, you have the same birthday as my little guy! He'll be 5 this coming May 1st! It was funny...the other night, we were out for dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant with my parents. DS4 asked me...in these exact words, "Mommy, is tomorrow it's May 1st?" :lmao: He asks me all the time how long until his birthday! ;)

Thanks! I am soooooo looking forward to this trip and the next one!

This is "your little souvenir" right? He is a Taurus, I bet you can't wait until he gets older and more stubborn! :rotfl2:

So I just realized that we are getting very close to the 11 month mark for my rescheduled trip.

We moved the two nights at the Royal Pacific Hotel to October 10-12 just as a random move. Turns out that puts us arriving at Disney on the 12th which is the first night of the Dolphin Food & Wine Classic. There's a big Jamborini meet going on that weekend. Fran doesn't realize it yet, but we'll be going to the Classic event. It sounds like a big Party for the Senses type event, but it's received rave reviews on the AKL Lite thread.

I hope I can convince Fran to stay 5 nights at BCV and then 3 nights at VWL. We have plenty of points and that even if I rent out a couple hundred points.I'd sort of like to so a similar itinerary as before so planning won't be Rocket Science. However, now I'll have the grueling wait for them to announce the special events, celebrities, and all those things.

That means I can call in Saturday, the unfortunate thing is that we have rehearsal for our Disney performance and it will be all that I can do to get Fran ready and out the door for that event! Yikes! I hope we make through the weekend! I need to find her tuxedo.

I'm VERY much looking forward to reading about your Spring trip with Arline. Mostly because of the fantastic restaurants you'll be reviewing, and I know I can always count on you for some amazing food porn! :yay:

Yes, my "little souvenir"! :rotfl2:

Oh yes, he is stubborn! It's funny...DH is also a Taurus, and he refers to himself as a "stubborn Taurus". He also refers to DS4 as the same thing! But...sometimes stubbornness works to your advantage. When we closed on our house (over 7 years ago now!), DH did work in the house from 6am to midnight every day he wasn't working...and on the days he was working, he went straight to the house to do work until midnight! He hardly slept but we moved in within a month! ;) He's the same with any little "projects" he likes to do around the house. Once he makes up his mind, he is determined and he just does it!
