How is Fran doing this morning??
She's cranky!

How is Fran doing this morning??
She's cranky! We're waiting for the nurse to come and set up the IV. He's already half an hour late, we got up and out of bed early for us!
Sorry he is late, but glad she is cranky, that is an improvement....![]()
I hope things went well today with Fran. And I hope she is feeling more relief. Be sure to take care of yourself too...you definitely need to keep up your strength right now. Still thinking of the two of you, and praying that she is back to herself really soon!![]()
Thanks Bonnie!
So here is what I am going to have to do twice a day for the next six and a half days. Tonight I do it at 10PM and tomorrow I can switch to 9AM and 9PM. Two of the little tubes are "Normal Saline" and the Yellow tube is Heparin. I have to set up the bag of antibiotic and put the drip tube into it. Then I sterilize the little Injection port in her hand. I put the saline through it, then hook up the IV to her hand and let it go for about an hour. When it is done, I turn it off remove the tube and sterilize it again. Then I put the other tube of Normal Saline in and the tube of Heparin. Then I close up her Injection Port. I don't think I'm going to be enjoying as many glasses of wine this week!

You're amazing for doing all of this! Fran is so very lucky to have you.
OK, so you can't have too much wine this week, so you will just have to make up for it the following week!![]()
You took the words right out of my mouth or should I say fingers? I also was thinking Alison could have the wine after nine.
All kidding aside here's another vote to make sure you take care of yourself too.

I couldn't agree more!
And I'm sure that Fran wants you to make sure you are taking care of yourself too!
Oh, and...wine after nine...I'm likin' it!![]()
Thanks Bonnie!

Alison, please take care of Fran and yourself...![]()
Is 'George' Double Jointed?
Just get yourself some empty saline bags, fill it up with wine and hook yourself up to your personal 'Ethanol' IV as well.![]()
French Regional Lunch
After our breakfast we headed back to the room for a little while & began packing from our weeklong vacation & goofing off online.
I headed towards EPCOT around 11am & went through the France shops until I saw some of the people I knew from the disboards hanging out around the the pavilion and went and talked with them.
Sadly, I was not sat with them & they were unable to place me at that table. Instead, I got placed with a group of 3 friends that were travelling together & had done so for years so it was a bit awkward there.

After everyone was seated & the first glass of wine poured, the speaker for the winery began talking. They served the amuse bouche during this time.
Amuse Bouche

It was an asparagus mousse.
It was refreshing and light as an amuse bouche should be & paired with the wine well.

Yup thats pig feet in there along with some veal wrapped and fried.
I do believe some people around the restaurant loved it. I personally hate pig's feet but I also live in middle georgia where some people try to put pig's feet in recipes they don't belong so I have a bias against them. Its one of the foods of my top 10 food hate list. The vegetables were tasty though.
The second course

Sauerkraut w/ Salmon, Monkfish & Smoked Haddock
Sauerkraut is also on my top 10 food hate list. (Other foods on this list include chicken feet, creamed corn, sardines, regular mayo, chicken livers, anchovies, pickles, headcheese)
The salmon was good - especially with the sauce that was used around the dish. I didn't enjoy the smoked haddock. The monkfish was ok.
I did really like the wine.

Comte
A strong nice cheese. I really liked it with the grapes as it balanced out its strong flavor.
The dessert.

Blueberry Flan
I liked the flan as it was nicely prepared. The sugar on top was really sticky in the teeth. The ice cream reminded me of the Flintstone Push Up Pops I had growing up so it was great!
The final wine wasn't sweet either which was great.

Overall, I think this individual lunch was a bust for me. I'm not really a picky eater but this just hit the jackpot on foods I hate. I realize that is also a risk you take when booking these type of events. I will book this event again as for the price point - you do get a really nice experience. Hopefully next year, I will get a better menu for my personal tastes.
I did enjoy a lot of the wine so I grabbed a taxi back to the room where I took a nap as rainy weather always makes me sleepy until it was time for us to get ready for the dessert party.
