I am sure many of you are on top of this but I hadn't given much thought to an extra policy to protect home computers, but with lap tops going in and out of the house, subject to damage, etc. I decided to call USAA. All computers are covered on the regular homeowner's policy...for theft, no matter where they are but with the $500 deductible. However, there is a policy that covers up to $3000 for any/all computers, with a $100 deductible regardless of what happens, soda spills, drops, thefts, etc.
The cost of this "very expensive coverage"? $8 a year! Its a bargain.
