Project Runway - Season 3 Official Thread (SPOILERS!!!)

Vince is going to be really insufferable on the next show because he will be the poor guy who had to put up with her and the judges said they liked his dress. I think that's why they kept both of them on. There should be some fireworks ahead.

I think Vince is on a different spaceship. :p

(Inspired by your signature line)

I forgot to watch Tara on the Miss Universe pageant. The official website shows her wearing a red evening gown. When did she wear Kayne's dress?

TIA,

Lori

She was wearing it in the end when she was one of the final five. I thought the dress looked pretty good, although I think it would have been prettier in a different color. She ended up being 4th runner up, which I didn't agree with. I thought Miss Puerto Rico should have won, (which she did) Miss Switzerland should have been 1st runner up, Miss USA second runner up, etc. They put her too low.

As for tomorrow night's show -- I can't wait! I love Project Runway. I really hope they get rid of Vincent soon because his whining is ruining the show for me. I have get up and walk away when he begins to moan and complain and say woe is me. Maybe if he were a better designer I could stand the moaning more.

I watched the rerun on NBC last night with the hope that they'd self-promote and show Tara wearing the dress. They didn't.

Oh, well, it was the best of the reruns that were on last night.

I also noticed last night when the girls were discussing him, Laura said "I've seen him defend his creations on the runway before" and it made me wonder if the show isn't shown in order of who is really voted off. There has only been one show so far and he really didn't defend that hat. He loved it when creating it and totally backed down on the runway.

If I remember the auditions episode correctly, Vincent was a pretty well known runway designer back in "the day". All the people at the audition he came to knew who he was right away. Apparently he dropped out of the business for about 10 yrs or so. So Laura may have known him or remembered one of his shows from back in the 90's.

And while I do agree that Vincent is a nutjob, Angela/Allison/I forget her name is so out of her field in this show. Even Miss USA was rolling her eyes at her. She had no intention of designing a dress for Miss USA. She intended to ride the coattails of whoever she thought would do the best job (Kayne). I would have loved to see Miss USA throw a kink in her plans by picking her as one of the designers and let her sit out there and flop around like a fish out of water. Of course she knew that wouldn't happen because Miss USA isn't going to commit pagent suicide. :rotfl:

Have you guys heard the scandel about Keith (Is that the name of the guy that won the first challenge?)

Apparently, he kind of plagerized his portfolio. Instead of the sketches of womens wear he had in there being his own, he used other designers work. When confronted he said he thought that they wanted a collection of work that each designer thought was good or in their taste. Umm.. no dude. They wanted to see what YOU created, not what you like that other people like Calvin Klein created. :rotfl:

Wonder if that will be the big "shocking eviction" where Tim tells someone they have to leave the contest?

I had heard about that ... and wonder if it will be the "eviction" that Tim Gunn gives!!! Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants since he already won the first challenge!!

According to what I've read its sabotage that will kick whomever off. Apparently some of the machines were missing needles in the first challenge.

Also if you are looking for good sites to read, I like Television without pity and blogging project runway

Here's a link to a NY Post story about the design similarities

http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/copycat_walk_entertainment_don_kaplan.htm

and a copy from that story is>>>
Side-by-side comparisons of Michael's drawings indicate that his sketches are nearly identical to designs by Giambattista Valli, Marni and Lacoste from last year's spring collections.

Bravo officials declined to comment yesterday, but Michael, in a message posted yesterday on omgblog.com - which was among the first to point out the similarities - said the drawings were not submitted as his own work but as an assignment on "trends."

"For the record, I submitted five portfolios for the judges' review," he wrote. "The one you seem to be focusing on was a research assignment I did for a client in which I reviewed key fashion trends. . . . The panel of judges that reviewed my work had many years of experience behind them. I found them neither ignorant, uninformed or misguided about their own profession."

I tried to find the link but couldnt, I think it was bobbins that were missing from the machines in the first episode, not needles, and the one girl that was sent home that couldnt sew - speculation is it was her machine that was missing parts - but you'd think she would've said something if that was the case...

Hopefully all will be revealed Wednesday!! The scuttle I'm picking up is since the "naughty incident" wasnt filmed, they dont make a big deal out of it in the episode...

also, if you love Reality tv, and message boards, I love www.tvclubhouse.com there's always someone there that spoils something, or finds it spoiled somewhere, or if you miss anything, just post, there always willing to fill in the voids!! (its a moderated board, so no name calling, its very friendly place!)

Sooo ... anyone want to venture a guess on the following:

Who will do the sabotaging?

Who will be that saboteur's victim?

How will that person go about their sabotage?

We could have some fun speculation w/this!!!!

I just had to join in...I've been addicted since the middle of season 1. Can't wait until tomorrow night!

ETA...just my $.02 about Malan...while I really had come into the last episode not liking him very much, what changed my mind was when he accepted responsibility for the end result and said it would be him, not Katherine, who should go home. That showed great character, and it's a shame he had to go.

Here's what it says on the bio website about Vincent:
Vincent Libretti, 49, was born and raised in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Now living in Santa Monica, California, he recently cashed out his 401k to restart the self-named design company that he ran in New York during the 80s.
Libretti received his Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and has taken various courses in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Parsons School of Design. His passion is women’s high-end fashion and he is most inspired by the work of Alexander McQueen. Vincent responds to vitality, enjoys truth, love and subtle expression of self. He loves to create in various art forms and feels that his style carries across in all that he does.
When he’s not working on his designs, Vincent is in Santa Monica, staying spiritual, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Holy cow! Angela's outfit - what was she thinking? :confused3

I don't know what angela was thinking, but it wasn't about six year olds. Alison's outfit was so cute. Good for Bradley to pull it off!

Does anyone know who will get kicked of next week? People seem to le leaning towards Keith due to his sketches, but you never know.... I'm trying to find an early spoiler online since I'll be out of town next week...If anyone knows who gets the boot, feel free to share....

TIA!

I'm surprised that Bradley pulled it off. :bitelip: Angela was making up her "story" as she spoke, it was sooo obvious. :lmao: :lmao: I don't like her design style. Those pouffy skirts, the one on her and the model, looked ridiculous.

Well, Allison/Angela skims by again this week. Boy, her design esthetic is pretty bad. Amazingly Vincent did not have the worst looking outfit to me this week. And the cameras didn't focus on him, so he annoyed me less. Bravo to Bradley for pulling it out of the hat at the last hour. Amazing. Must have been some serious birthday magic happening there.

I am thinking maybe it is Allison/Angela who is asked to leave next week for wrongdoing. Seems she is always scrambling for someone's coattails to hang onto. Maybe the next challenge involves sketching, which she doesn't know how to do so she decides to take someone else's. My interest is very peaked for next week's reveal of the guilty.

If she hadn't mentioned 6 year olds :rotfl: maybe she would have been better off. Nina did not buy that artist camp bit at all.

Didn't someone last year use the "owner of an art gallery" personae and get blasted by the judges, too.

Bradley looked stunned when the judges said they liked his dress. I'm sure he thought he was up there as part of the BOTTOM three. Happy Birthday!

Lauri heard this story and asked me to look it up to add to the thread for you guys...

Season three of "Project Runway" premiered on Bravo last night, but a tragic accident marred the finale of the Heidi Klum show.

Designers compete for $100,000, a car and other prizes, while their model wins a spread in Elle magazine.

Hungarian model Jia Santos (whose real name is Eliza Jakubek), 18, became one of the three finalists. But near the end of taping, she was struck by a bus while riding her bike to the show's location in the city.

"She was dragged underneath the bus," her agent, Avenue Models' Javier Hernandez, told us yesterday. "She fractured her skull and her eye socket and was in critical condition for three days. Now she has been in intensive care for a month."

Her first words upon waking up, Hernandez tells us, were: "Am I still on 'Project Runway'?"

Santos still appears in the show, and her accident is explained during the finale. Hernandez said she was modeling to support her parents in their Hungarian village.

"Everyone from the show has been really supportive and offered their help to get her parents a visa to visit her in the hospital and work on a benefit for her," he said.

Did anyone notice that Vincet did another hat and it did not work. :rotfl: I really like Ulli and Allison's dresses. Allison really had a good concept.

I did not like angela's garment. She needs to go.
