Anyone encounter any problems at the gates with kids and their ages? DS is 9 (but looks older) and my twin DD are almost 3 (bday in mid August) and also look older. I'm wondering if I will have any problems with ?'s at the front gates about their ages. Should I bring their birth certificates with me? I don't have anything with a picture ID for them but I guess I could bring my son's report card that has his age on it too! I guess I'm being completely anal but I don't want any problems.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

DS looks older than his age and I've been questioned about it before (not at WDW, though). I always carry his school id. It has his stats (dob, height, weight, etc.) and his photo as well as parent information. On the back is his thumbprint scan. The school brings in a company called Identi-Kid to do this and it's relatively inexpensive. Plus, a great form of id for the airport or any other matter.

Anyway, you could carry the birth certificate b/c it'll have your name on it as parent, so if you need to present ID to verify that he's your child, you'll have no problems.

For future reference, you might suggest the Identi-Kid program to your school administration (I'm sure you could get info. on line -- if not, PM me and I'll get you the phone # off the card). It's a great form of id for children.

They are bringing Identi-Kid to my work after numerous request. The request have been made for years and finally it is all working out. They sent an email out yesterday advising they will be doing this on Aug 13th.

Guess where I will be? Thats right WDW ! Oh, the irony...

My DD was a month shy of turning 3 on our first trip and she was very tall for her age. We didn't take anything and were never questioned. This year she was 3 months away from 10, still very tall, and we never had any questions. I really don't think you'll have any problems.

I don't think you will have a problem. My cousins DD looks a lot older than she is and she never had any trouble with her getting in.

:)

We have a state issued picture identification card for our son - we had it made at the driver's license bureau. I like having a picture i.d. for him, but we were never asked for it at WDW.

We were never asked for any of our childrne all who look much older we've gone 14 times so I say go for it. But if you are a worrier pack the bcs.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Appreciate all your responses! I guess I'll just take my chances and hope for the best. Leaving on Friday! :wave2:

PS I used to be a regular on these boards back before I had my twins (and we went almost every year to DW). But with them being a handful and not going to the world, I wasn't able to post often and I lost my status. Sure is hard to see my post counter back to three posts! :(

MY YOUNGEST WILL BE TWO IN OCTOBER SHE LOOKS FOUR. HAD HER IN THE STROLLER AT THE GATE AND THE CM STOPPED US SHORT TO ASK HOW OLD WAS SHE .

I CONFIRMED SHE WOULD BE THREE IN OCTOBER.

THE CM OPENED THE GATE TO LET ME IN RIGHT AWAY AND NO SWEAT.

BUT IT WOULD OF BEEN HEART BREAKING IF HE WOULD HAVE INSISTED SHE NEEDED TO HAVE A TICKET.

ALL THOUGH I PURCHASED THE TICKETS UPON CHECK IN AT THE CR THE CM GAVE ME NO PROBLEM.

GOOD LUCK!!!

I wouldn't carry a birth certificate around. If you need proof for the plane, OK, but I wouldn't carry it to the parks. I've never heard of anyone having to prove a child's age.

Last spring break there was a man with 3 small boys pulled off to the side & the CM was doubting his boys were 3. The CM was actually saying "come on now, there is no way those boys are 3!" I glanced at the boys and they all looked more like 5 or 6, so.....I wanted to stick around to see what how it was going to be resolved, but the place was packed and I had to move along.
Anyway if it were me, I'd pack the Birth Cert.

MAKE A COPY OF THE CERTIFICATES AND KEEP THEM HANDY.

I WOULD EVEN HAND IT TO THEM BEFORE THEY GET THE WORDS OUT THE THERE MOUTHS.!!!:cool1: :worship:

THAT WOULD ELIMINATE ANY FRICTION!!!!!!!1:sunny: :bounce:

It is common policy to take your word on the matter. If there is any question at all they will usually ask what year the child was born. If you are telling the truth you can usually spit that out without thinking about it, if you are lying it trips you up. Also most of the time that people get caught is because the child ratted them out. Most 3 year olds are very PROUD to be 3 and if they hear their parents say "he's 2" they usually will correct them by standing their ground and saying no I'm not I'm this many, thus tatteling on mom or dad. Don't worry about it if you are telling the truth (which you obviously are) you will have no problem. If you are nervous about it I would make a copy of the birth certificate (don't bring the original) but honestly as a CM at MK for the past 9 years, in general if you telling the truth they can tell :)
