I was wondering what the probability is that there will be free dining 10/11/13 to 10/19/13? Could I still sign up for the free dining if we check out the 19th or it has to be the day you check in?

It is up in the air when Disney will release the free dining, as it could be next month or August. If I book my stay now, can I opt in for the plan with no problems correct? Is there any problems changing my stay days to accommodate the free dining?

Thanks new to all this and there is a lot of planning involved.

I can't tell you the probability of free dining in October since I've never gone in the fall so never paid attention : ) We're planning our first Oct trip this year though so I have my fingers crossed for some kind of deal!

In regard to adding it after you book the trip, you can add the plan up to a certain number of days before check in. I believe it's 5 days but could be off a few. You just have to pay the total when you add it on if it's within 45 days of check in. You can make changes to your package at no fee up to a certain point and within so many days with a fee. Sorry I don't remember the details but I'm sure someone else can help.

Free dining is really never during this time period:(. It is the food and wine festival and they have not offered it in the past during that time period. Free dining usually ends at the end of September or the third week of September. Sorry!

Disney has offered free dining the past 2 years during at least part of your dates. My credit card receipt shows May 29 from last year, so it was announced around that time. Some of October is blacked out, but not all of it.

That being said, Disney has become busier by the year in October, so free dining is no longer a given.

I sure hope so, we're set to check in 10/17 - we had free dining *the regular plan - 1 TS, 1 CS, 1 Snack free at POP in 2009 - we checked in on 10/1/09

Anything can change but the free dining bounceback offer that was in rooms last fall covered 8/18-9/13/2013 and it was only for Moderates and Deluxes, although there are some secondhand reports that it was also available for Value resorts if you asked.

UK visitors have a free dining offer that is pretty much good for the entire year with blackout dates around the two major holidays. There's no free dining at the Value resorts and the Moderates are only getting the QSDP for free.

What this means for the general public is anyone's guess but I'm thinking that free dining, if it is offered at all, will end before MNSSHP and the F&W Festival begin. Both of those attract guests to Disney without the need for free dining. F&W begins Sept. 27 this year.
