Because, the response was to the father having no rights/title to what isn't his child. Just because the father isn't birthing it doesn't mean it's not his. My opinion.

Wrong again. It was my response to the opinion that a man should be able to force child birth on a woman. I never said it wasn't his, but that it his not his choice to say what medical procedure the woman endures. (Yes, that is an opinion-and the law too).

You also missed the ones where it has been established that women are not the only ones who give birth and gestate.

Oh, holy *holds back words*. Now you're putting words into peoples' mouths and taking things into your own context.

*follows declansdad's pursuit and leaves from this thread* *le sigh*

Again, it was a response to the fact that the fetus within is not a relation to the father. THAT is what the comment has to do with. I believe I already answered that. Now twice.

Find that quote where I said the father is not a relation to the baby please.

Uh, you're the one who claims people are saying the fetus is not related to the father

Talk you yourself much?:lmao:

Unfortunately this is not true. I know a woman with twins who feels terrible all the time, knowing that she never should have had them in the first place (long story though).

Of course, most people never really regret having their children but that does not mean they wouldn´t have been better off without them. And in my opinion, a lot of children would have been better off if they had never been born.

Once again... someone deciding what the quality of life should be for another human being...

Just because a Mother doesn't exactly LOVE being a Mom, does that make her a bad person?...is it enough to abort children simply because the Mom isn't mother of the year?

Quick question though: When have I ever said this was how it should be? I remember being asked what I thought...in relation to myself. I don't believe I'm holding a gun to anyone's head and saying, "Do it my way, or else!"...:confused3

"Let every other woman make that choice for themselves."

Ok, so you ARE pro-choice.

Okay. I'm for that, but for that to be done, you, and everyone else who's advocating 'woman's right' has to let the woman come to that one their own, also.

Now, where's that *studies while eating popcorn* icon?
Exactly. Each woman has to come to their own decision. Whether it is alone if the guy bails, or with their clergy, friends, relatives or if in a committed relationship discussing the decision with their partner. The woman should seek guidance from any and all she trusts.

But it IS ultimately the woman's choice.

Believe me, this is not about a mom not loving to be a mom. This is about a mom who is severely depressed and has said on many occasions that she can not care for the kids and does not want to do what has to be done in order to care properly for them. This is about a mom who has on numerous occasions been reported to child services (child services don´t take the kids because of lack of foster parents). This is about a mom who never makes her kids dinner. A mom who left her kids for a couple of days alone in NICU while she went on a romantic getaway. A mom who fed her 6 month old babies, who were 10 weeks premature, lollypops and hotdogs. A mom who gets a maid 3 days a week (!!!) (paid for) and who still can´t keep her apartment somewhat "decent". This is about a mom who doesn´t care about her kids eating cat food and litter of the floor. Once and again, this is not about a woman not loving being a mom.

I think what she is trying to say is that she wants the man to have a say in the decision. But she will not clarify what the weight of that say is legally. So there really is no discussion or argument. Her opinion begins and ends with the man should have a say -there is nothing more to it.

My guess is that what is frustrating her and Declan's Dad is that they don't want to admit that for the man to truly have a "say" than he would have to have some sort of veto power over the woman that allows him to decide what happens to her body. I think they may be frustrated that they can't take the woman's body out of the discussion and have it make any sense.

You want to tell people what your opinion is, fine; BUT don't ever tell people what mine is. You either have no clue as to what I have saying or you just don't want to figure out what I have been saying.

In all the time I have spent reading and posting on the DIS, I have never had a post piss me off as much as what you just posted.

Well, the same can be said of the entire abortion debate. If you could separate the fetus and the woman, there would be no argument, but as long as you have to make a choice, IMO an actual life trumps potential life any day.

I said I guessed and it was what I thought, not a defintive judgment. I'm not the only one who can't figure out what you are trying to say.

You can either keep getting angry at me, ignore me, or try to clarify what exactly it means when you assert that the man should have some say in the decision.

What he's saying is very clear. I've yet to find a post in this thread of declansdad's that isn't clear/obvious and to the point.

Which is why the anti-abortion side keeps changing their arguments and tactics --they can't separate the woman's body from the debate.

Yes, you two are certainly on the same page. No argument there.

Did you ever find that quote where I said the father is not related to the baby? It's been a couple of hours now.

they don't want to admit

We have nothing to admit. We've clearly stated our opinions, more than once, only to have them picked apart, and ever so wrongly. Words have, more than once been put into our mouths, and what we've said been taken out of context per as to argue relentlessly.

Because, in our viewpoints, we don't have to. Your view is just that...yours. Not mine, not Bob's, not Jill's...yours. Or haven't you figured that one out, yet?

I say, my viewpoint, answer the OP, in your own terms, but don't go to assume everyone is going to agree with you. Both sides.

Now...*eats sandwhich and gives this thread 'til page 30.*

I am keeping an eye on the poll. Not what I expected from the DISboards.

I can't jump into the abortion debate, it is like discussing the space-time continuum.

Like for example in HEROES, Hiro speaks with his future self!!!! Impossible.:sad2:
Everyone knows according to Doc Brown in Back to the Future, Hermonie in Harry Potter and Star Trek you will cause a rift in space time and will forever loop and then eventually be destroyed.

What were they thinking in Heroes!:sad2:

:lmao: Sorry, back to the regularly scheduled chicken and egg debate.

Speaking of putting words in people's mouths, found that quote yet?

I'm not going to waste my time going through a thread to feed a troll, especially one that keeps diverting the topic at hand, avoiding showing their proof on their assertions.
