Princess Weekend 2022

My husband and I bought our Garmin watches there one year. They had the special star wars series and he really wanted that one. The dealer actually had it on a little discount as a special star wars race weekend promotion. So it was cheaper than you could get it anywhere else. Mine was the standard retail price.
I've not gotten the impression that other things were more expensive just because it was at an expo. I've seen shoe sales too.

To be honest I don't think I've ever bought anything at the expo so I don't know if there is a markup! I have window shopped and seen things that I bought online later. Some very cute items from the vendors at Marathon Weekend at least. This will be my first Princess and I'm looking forward to shopping around at the expo there.

I bought sneakers one year, when Disney still had their collaboration with New Balance. And I got an Otter box cell phone case, which ended up breaking and they replaced it for free.
I also got hooked on SheFit bras (amazing!) and Sparkle skirts (now called Bolder Athletic). I love the skirts, the shorts don't ride up and they have pockets. They also last forever.

I've also purchased some socks, the tee shirts from Raw Threads etc. I usually try to make a day of it, and browse around the vendors. Last race, a lot of the expo was a branch of "fit 2 run", so who knows who will still be around going forward.

I don’t usually buy much at the expo. I find that the vendors that are there offer better deals throughout the year on their websites (usually combined with free shipping!). Fit2Run usually takes up the most floor space in the center of the expo room.

And I love that there is a group of guys who always dress up as the theme for each princess race.

Beyond them, it's always worth looking for Michael Gabriel, the one that accidentally won the 5K a few years back. He dresses as princesses (full wig, full costumes, and a SMILE) and has even run as Walt in an actual suit.

I was just curious if the stuff that vendors sell at the Expo is marked up compared to buying it in a regular store or online.

I've never noticed that. I see sales, if anything. Some allow you to preorder and pick up there, like Fluffy Fizzies, Raw Threads I think, and Sparkle Athletic (maybe Bolder, which used to be Sparkle Skirts, but I don't buy those).

The challenges have not sold out yet for Marathon weekend just the 5k and 1/2 marathon.... so I am feeling better about being able register for our challenge race!
It's so interesting seeing how long it is taking for races to sell out this year. It is definitely making me feel better about my chances for Princess.
Right now I'm glad the MW 10k is on a day I just cannot make work because I would have been tempted to sign up.

Haha I’ve been thinking the same. Along with the Wine and Dine.

Just slightly regretting registering with a charity... But I bought peace of mind ;)
I decided earlier today to register through a charity, and signed up for the Princess Half with ACS. I'll be keeping an eye out for my welcome kit and info over the next 48 hours, which I believe includes a waiver that fully obligates me to the pledged amount. I was planning on the charity as a backup, but with them opening sign-up before general registration I didn't know how that was going to shake out. When I signed up today, I saw they had 30-something princess half bibs left (no idea how many they started with). $1K is a manageable pledge for me over 212 days.

I was keeping an eye on registration this morning and saw the half was gone in under an hour and a half. Which isn't awful. I think that's enough time for those logged in and ready at GO time to get what they want.

I feel great about registering for the fairytale challenge with a charity last night. I have to teach from 10-12 on 8/24 and have been feeling very anxious about it. I’m also very happy to be raising money for children’s cancer research.

Now we are all fans of runDisney here and obviously if you are going to run multiple days we would most likely do that at Princess Weekend. But the Gasparilla Distance Classic (in Tampa) happens Sat Sun of PW. Sat is a 15K or 5K and Sun is a 1/2 or 8K. Does anyone combine running both events? Like you could do the Princess Enchanted 10K Sat and Gasparilla 1/2 on Sun or Gasparilla 15K Sat and Princess 1/2 on Sun. And what challenge name could we invent for them? I'm thinking one of the challenges could be called Pirate Princess.
