Princess Weekend 2022

I totally wasn’t clear! We’d run the 5k in the morning and leave MCO at 12:30pm to head home. Any thoughts on whether we’d be done the 5k, back to the hotel, and off to MCO in enough time?
One factor to consider. If the race start is delayed, that could really mess up your plans. I remember the 2020 Marathon being delayed significantly, maybe 20-30 minutes due to travel snafus. I saw people literally sprinting just to make the race start. Weather delays can also occur.

Even if everything starts on time, plan on having little to no time at all for character photos and that sort of thing if those things matter to you. I once pulled off getting to my 9:30 breakfast ADR after leaving the race at 8:00am, but it was very close and a bit stressful.

So it’s a good sign for a princess that only the 10K Wine & Dine is sold out and registration has been open for like two days now?

Certainly not a bad sign. There are good reasons why Wine and Dine might not be completely predictive. But overall my level of concern for getting one Challenge bib and two 5k bibs remains low. If Marathon Weekend's sell out rate lines up with Wine and Dine, then I'll feel all that more confident. Plus, looking at rates of sell outs of non-reduced capacity Princess Weekends is also reassuring.

Despite all my going-on about how great Pop Century is for race weekends, my family thought we'd try something new and switched over to the Swan for Princess Weekend and also booked the Dolphin for Marathon Weekend. I happened to look at my rates for Pop for Princess Weekend and at least one of those nights was like $280! for a night at a value! It went down to a mere $206 for the Monday night after. So we made the switch and will see if we like something non-Disney. Never thought I'd see the day but right now prices got too nuts even for us Disney nuts.

I am thinking we might book the Swan or Dolphin for Princess Weekend too. We have some dvc points left but I like that I cancel a regular room last minute if the weather is bad(we fly in from CT so snow is always a concern in Feb.)

The rates are pretty good for that weekend👍🏻

I looked at booking a little mermaid room at AOA for Wine and Dine 2022 as part of a split stay and it was over $200 a night. My DD4 would love it but no way am I paying over $200 for a value.

Does anyone have an tips on booking two people for a race?
I would like to sign DD and myself up for the 10k. I am more concerned about getting myself sign up, if DD can do it with me great.

Is it better to register myself and fully complete registration or do I use the add another runner tab? Seems like once I’m in the sign up I should be good to good, but am concerned I could lose the 10k spot while registering DD?

Still trying to figure out travel plans and now we might just be doing the 5k as a family and flying out Friday.

would it be cutting things too close to book a 12:30pm flight on Friday?

If you have to do it, it likely can be done. But everyone has to be up to speed on the plan and work actively towards making it work. You need a time schedule and have everything packed and ready to go.

While I don't know if I will get the 10k spot, ever since Princess was cancelled last time around, I stopped my 10k training and only focused on the 5k distance. I'm currently at a 34 minute 5k - all running. I need motivation to start upping my distance. I had done Galloway to get to the original 10k length, but honestly didn't love my podcast getting interrupted every 30 seconds (maybe it was a minute - don't remember). I'm wondering if I run the first 5k, then do Galloway for the second 5k. Is that a thing??

Get a runkeeper (can be clipped to your clothes or get a watch type strap attachment for it) so it beeps or buzzes rather than having an app interrupt your podcast.

That’s the question I’m pondering for me and my cousin. I think I’ll just do us both at the same time. Have all info. If you haven’t done rundisney before, check out the wine and dine registration page to see what questions they ask so you know how to answer without thinking about it. Have your cc number copied into the clipboard so you just paste it, and know the rest of the cc info.

Just adding this here. The POT deadline for changes for Princess is 11/23/2021. However, both Wine and Dine and Marathon Weekend have an earlier race date cutoff.

For Wine and Dine it was race date cutoff of July 30th (Friday) with submission by Aug 17th (Tuesday); about 2.5 weeks.
For Marathon Weekend it was race date cutoff of Sept 30th (Thursday) with submission by Oct 12th (Tuesday); about 1.5 weeks.

So based on this, I would guess that our cutoff for race date is between Oct 29th to Nov 12th. Something to keep in mind if you've got a late race you're attempting for POT. Until we know otherwise, I'd guess the last "safe" weekend is Oct 23-24th.

So helpful, thank you! Just today I was looking at running a 1/2 in October, and these dates are super helpful! (I'm eyeing a 1/2 in Nantucket on Columbus Day weekend 👍

I just signed up for the Dopey Challenge, and the POT cut off was September 30, with a deadline to submit/update also due by September 30. This is a change from what was initially set forth for the Dopey Challenge, anyway, now with the same date for a POT race and deadline for submission/update.

Super excited! This will be my first time (if I can get through registration). I have a reservation at Coronado Springs. Is this a good place for race weekend? I appreciate any advice!

Hmm, that's strange. That is a disagreement with this:

I wonder if it's an error on the registration page. Now that you mention it, I see the same thing on Wine and Dine registration page as well:

I'll reach out to TrackShack to confirm, but I believe the registration page is wrong.

They didn't quite understand my question, but did confirm the date of updating your POT is up until August 17th for Wine and Dine. The deadline for the race to occur is July 30th. So it leads me to believe that there is an error on the registration page, and that the runDisney event page is the correct date. I think the Princess race date cutoff is likely to be between Oct 29th to Nov 12th with Oct 23/24th as the last "safe" weekend.

I'm a little disappointed in the race "princesses" if these are going to be the same ones. The Moana and Cinderella graphics are exactly the same as the 2020 race, and Tiana is the same rendering as the 2021 race. Even the presentation of the Princesses on the announcement looks just like 2020.
In 2019 they had Mulan on the 10K. There are so many princesses, why not mix it up a bit.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll be there since I love that weekend.
