Princess Lunch At Norway

We really enjoyed it. The only hassle was checking in. The podium is outside and attracts quite a crowd. I had to beg to be let through to check in as everyone milled about. We did have to wait a bit after our assigned time but it wasn't too bad.

Once inside you get to pose for a picture with I think it is Belle? Anyhow, after that they seat you at a table and bring you drinks. The buffet was very different fare from other disney restuarants but we really liked it. I especially enjoyed the cold board with salads, cheeses, shrimp, pasta and salmon. YOu get to choose a hot main dish and I had the pasta which was very enjoyable. My daughter had one of the kids meals, I can't remember.

The best part is the princess interaction. They really took time with my daughter and even sat down at our table for a minute. Lots of great photos!

I recommend this one!

We were hesistant to do this lunch because of reviews I had read on the boards, and people saying the food was not good. We decided to try it and we are glad we did.

All of us enjoyed the food and DD really loved seeing the princesses. She saw Mulan, Belle, Jasmine, Auroa (Sleeping Beauty) and one other that is escaping me right now. When we first entered she got tohave her picture taken with Ariel.

The appetizer was a cold buffet, that included salads, meats, cheeses, and meats. Then everyone can choose from the menu for their main meal. The choices were wonderful and even our DD enjoyed hewr meal. Dessert a plate with several different things for all to try, and all of us found something we liked.

We are going back to Disney in March and our DD has requested we go to this lunch again!!

We've been twice. I'd rate it as average as far as character meals go. The food is pretty good - I like trying different things. The character interaction is mediocre at best. The princesses come by once and don't spend much time at each table.

Character interaction was fine for us. The only problem was a long wait for our posed portrait with Ariel. We had a nice chat with each of the other princesses as they came to the table.

We LOVE the food at Akershus!! It is different and tasty. Love the goat cheese, smoked salmon, salads, rice cream, all of it really. Some of the hot dishes are heavy, so chose carefully if you have a sensitive stomach.

Give it a try! Enjoy!

I know you asked about lunch, but we did dinner... and LOVED it. The food was pretty good (except my salmon was overcooked and not edible) but the cold buffet was nice, desserts were wonderful, and everyone else's food was very, very good.

Princess interaction was very, very good. We saw Ariel in the lobby and had table visits from Aurora, Jasmine, Alice, and Belle. Aurora kissed DD on the cheek, Belle spent lots of time talking to her, Jasmine teased my boys appropriately and Alice was a bit odd, talking in Lewis Carroll inspired rhyme, but she did take a cute photo with DD.

Our server was a bit clueless, but we'll return here on our next trip.

We had great character interaction when we went for lunch! However, we did not care for the food at all and we are not picky eaters. That is the only stipulation my DH has made about dining for our next trip- no Askerhaus.

My DH hated this place too! He does not like seafood and neither he nor I had much choice on the menu as I have several food allergies. The character interaction was ok, but Sleeping Beauty didn't seem to speak very much English.

A suggestion for picky eaters- my DH was allowed to order off the kids meal (they doubled it in size for him) at the adult price. When he got his 2 plain grilled chicken breasts, plain potatoes, and plain corn, I was definitely having entree envy while I picked through my chicken salad. It was like coleslaw texture and sour! This was April 2005. So something to try for the unadventurous- ask for a kids meal. The kids loved their lunches too. This year we are going for breakfast instead which is supposed to be American.

We ate there for lunch in 02 and loved it. One of our fav meals. Now with the characters every meal, and from what Ive read, a "dumbed" down food selection, we are skipping it. My DH was very disappointed- he was looking forward to this one again. They should have lunch or dinner non-character and more of the old food, in addition to character meals.
