Princess Breakfasts Concerns...

My mother and I are taking my soon to be 3 year old DD to a Princess Breakfast in February. We have reservations for CRT, but now I have concerns. When I read the online Dis review, it wasn't good. First of all, the food was a huge disappointment, but most importantly, the princess factor was almost ziltch! Once seated, the reviewer was told the princess/s would not pose for photos (action only), or sign an autograph book. At check-in, Cindy's attendant took the children's books to be signed, not allowing the children to do so themselves. This is really concerning. Obviously, the food isn't a huge deal, but have others experienced this? Our main goal here is to spend some time in the castle, and to allow some princess photos with my DD.
Should we consider Akershus at Norway instead?

Also, is it true that usually only Cindy shows up at CRT, but at Akershus many princesses (sometimes even Cindy) appear?

The princess interaction at Norway was awesome!:thumbsup2 I hear that Cindy shows up for lunch and dinner. Even though they say its unusal for her to be there, I read a lot of posts saying she was there. We really liked the breakfast there and all the princesses. We got lots of pics and autographs too! I havent heard many good things about CRT. I wouldn't waste my extra TS for it. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have not been to CRT yet (in 2 weeks!) but the situation you described sounds more like dinner with Fairy Godmother and the mice. I've read that at dinner, they do not stop for pictures or autographs.

But for breakfast and lunch, all the princesses that circulate through the rooms should be stopping to chat and hug and pose for pictures and sign books. This is what I expect to happen in 2 weeks.

We've eaten breakfast with princesses in Norway and that's the way it was. The princesses were not in any hurry at each table. We got pictures and autographs and they were quite charming.

Now, I will say that there were some situations where the attendant took the autograph book as you were the next in line and got it ready for Cinderella (or whoever). That's probably to help move the line along. That didn't happen at every character meet-n-greet, but it may have happened for the host princess at Norway (who was Belle). I didn't think that was terribly rude. My girls were more entranced with looking at Belle and didn't even notice!

I'm doing both breakfast at CRT and breakfast in Norway on our trip - I'll report back and let you know what happens!

We have been to Akerhaus for breakfast, it was a lot of fun. The princesses, Belle, Aurora, Mulan, Snow White (i think) and Jasmine were there and most of them stopped by our table to say hi and take pics. It was relaxing and the breakfast was good, buffet style with a lot of options.

We haven't been to CRT yet.
Hope this helps!

We were at CRT in Feb for breakfast and it was great. The princesses were great and we saw Cinderella (picture taken as you go in), Belle, Snow White, Princess Aurora, Jasmine and I can't remember who else. Enjoy

at CRT a couple of times. Lunch and breakfast are the same general set-up as far as characters go. Both times the princesses, and/or leading ladies stopped at the table chatted with our daughter (and attempted to chat with our son) and offered to pose for pictures.

Yes, the situation desribed was dinner. We will be doing breakfast. So, breakfast is not as rushed, and they allow more photo time? For the price of $84.00 (incl. tax & gratuity) for 2 adults, I would hope so!

At both CRT and Akershus princess breakfasts, there will be one princess greeting guests. Always Cinderella at CRT and usually Belle at Akershus.

There will also be another 3 or 4 princesses and/or ladies-in-waiting circulating around the dining room visiting with guests at their tables. princess: They will all sign autographs, chat with you a little, pose for photos and give hugs and sometimes kisses, too. :lovestruc

Whilst the food at CRT may not be outstanding, it is decent enough breakfast food. To be honest your DD may not even be able to eat anything due to pure excitement anyway! :cutie: This is the only restaurant that my DD really wants to go back to, so we are trying lunch next time around. :yay:

We did the Norway Princess Breakfast in Oct 06 and it was just incredible. The character interaction, the food, the service...all was perfect.

We are going back in January and I cant wait

Dinner isn't really rushed - it just isn't a character meal. Characters don't really come to your table - they do a little show and kind of flit around to the tables. Breakfast is a character meal. You will recieve similar character interaction at this meal as any other character meal. The ladies will sign books, chat a minute, and take picutures. Have a great time.

PS - I usually have more fun if I can put the price out of my mind and not try to figure out if its "worth the money"

We have only done CRT for breakfast and have never been disappointed. My DD dressed like Belle (french village dress) one time and and Belle spent alot of time with her. She took the time to pose with my DD. Snow White played peek a boo with my DD for a long time. We have always had great interaction at CRT. Hopefully that won't change as we are going back in 3 weeks.
We have done the breakfast and dinner at Norway and have loved that as well. This is the only character dining we can see Mulan. The princesses spent alot of time with us there as well.
The photo at the beginning with Cinderella at CRT and Belle at Norway were the only times we felt rushed.

"Our main goal here is to spend some time in the castle, and to allow some princess photos with my DD."

You'll meet your goal with the breakfast . We did it last June, food was decent, my 2 DD's (2 and 6) ate everything on their plate and had fun getting their pictures taken with the various princesses going from table to table. They did leave the room once to take part in the show out front of the castle but returned shortly to do their rounds. I have some pics online, I will post them later when I can get to photobucket (it's blocked at work.)

My 3 friends and I (all over 30 I might add..LOL) just had the breakfast at CRT on Friday 11/14th....we all thought it was FABULOUS....the food was good...and there was ALOT of it...all of the boys got swords, and the little girls got wands...everyone got a wishing star...

When we first got in...we waited on line and were greeted by cindarella...we took a photo with her...and then went upstairs into the castle dinning room....in there were, sleeping beauty, cindarella came up after photos, snow white, jasmine and belle...they all stopped at each table...taking pics, talking with the children and definitely spending time at each table....I know this because each princess stopped at our table to chat and take pics with us four grown women....LOL

It was a FUN experience...and all of the kids looked like they were having a great great time...

Hope this helps. :)

We have done Akershaus and CRT for breakfast... I would pick CRT hands down. The food was our favorite breakfast so far, and we have done 4. The princesses took their time talking to the kids, signing autographs, and taking pics. Fairy Godmother even came back to our table a second time as we realized DDs glass was in front of her face in the pics. The girls got wands, the boys swords, and everyone a flashing star. Akershaus was decent food, but not wonderful. Princess interaction was rushed IMO, but they did do pics and autographs.

My family just ate at CRT for breakfast last month. I thought this was the best character breakfast on property. It is definately worth the 2 TS points. While Cinderella is signing your book and taking pictures, she is spending quality time with you. You do not fill rushed, she gives you her full attention until you are finished with your picture taking.

The food was the best breakfast we had. The stuffed french toast is to die for! The princesses we had we Aurora, Snow White, Belle (blue dress) and Mary Poppins (I know, not a princess, but she was fun). They definately signed books and stopped for photos.

I highly recommend this meal.

Some pics from our CRT visit June 08 just to give you idea of what kinda pics you can get.

Thanks for sharing the pictures Matt. I feel a lot better now! Your girls are really cute with their matching hair dos and dresses!

Thanks to everyone else, I feel confident now that we will be getting what I hoped for!:thanks: :thanks:

We did both CRT (Breakfast) and Norway (Dinner). My little one was 3 at the time and my older daughter was 11. If I had to pick one it would definitely be CRT. My little one was in total awe of eating in the castle. She had the biggest smile the whole time. We are going back in June and the one ressie I have to have is CRT. The wishing ceremony is also so very cute. Norway was ok but I felt like the princesses were more rushed and we didn't care for the food at dinner.

We also enjoyed the breakfast food. I think because of the price people expect more but breakfast is breakfast you are paying for eating at the castle. Also you will definitely see Cindy at CRT. At Norway we got lucky and she was there too. She's my little one's favorite.

Have a great time you got a very hard to get ressie. There is nothing like watching the magic come true for a little princess!

Yes! I tried to get the ressie last week, and it was full. I called again at 10 p.m. last night and scored! I'm so excited!!!:woohoo:
