Great movie night!
Cute hand wreath too! Can't wait to read about all your upcoming activities while ya'll are counting down those days til Disney!

Thank you! I would recommend movie nights to anyone because I just have SO much fun planning them and just putting it all together. :)

Thanks! I'm so glad that I've seen Pocahontas now. I couldn't tell you why I never have. I adored it, though.

Hello there! I stumbled upon your trip report. Instead of picking up a book I read the DISboards! Your daughter is beautiful! She reminds me of my daughter at that age (except with blond hair). I love your movie nights and will have to borrow some of your ideas. I have one daughter (age 4). She has been to Disney twice and will be celebrating her 5th b-day on our next trip (9/29 - 10/6). The movie nights will be a great way to get us in the mood! Like you............I am counting down the days. It seems so far away! I'll be starting a pre-trip report myself, but that will only help pass the time a little bit! Hate to wish the summer away, but I WANT TO GO ON VACATION! :cheer2:

Can't wait to read more about your plans!!!!!

P.S. Tell your husband............THANKS! (I'm an AF Vet.) Happy Memorial Day! :thumbsup2

Thank you and :welcome: I'm so glad you found my PTR. :) We definitely love the movie nights and highly recommend them! There is a thread here on the DIS dedicated to movie nights. Have you seen that yet? I'll find the link and send it to you if you haven't. I saw the title of your future PTR in your signature... I can't wait to read it once you start it!!! :) Happy Memorial Day!!!!

I haven't seen the thread for movie nights. Can't wait to get some ideas. My daughter watched Bolt earlier today and Princess and the Frog tonight. She loves watching movies. It would be great to make it a theme night though. She would get a kick out of it. Thanks again!

I really hope you share your first movie night if you decide to do it!!! :)

Welcome to June!!! Wow. I didn't get a chance to let Ashlyn color the June calendar yesterday. Aaron has taken a few days off so we've been making the most of them. We spent most of the morning yesterday at the beach and the rest of the day running errands. And of course we bought Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland so we had to watch that!! :) But she did color it this morning and it looks wonderful! She definitely loves creating a masterpiece. :lovestruc

The 100 day mark is coming up quickly! I'm starting to get things ready to make our countdown calendar, but I'm still trying to think of things to do! :rotfl: I haven't really had a chance to sit down and plan things. I gotta get moving! I'm lucky that awhile back some of you gave me awesome ideas to include! I'm really excited to put it all together. I'm also planning a special dinner for our 100 day mark so I'm hoping that turns out nicely. I'm definitely hoping on posting a lot more with all the activities I hope to be doing. :)

September is going to be here before we know it!! The summer is going to FLY by with as much as my family has going on and I imagine for you too. :goodvibes

I have to make our countdown calendar too. When are you starting yours? I think we are going to do either 45 or 30 days. I want to keep DD engaged and I am trying to make it fairly interactive and fun, so I have to see how many ideas/things I want to do before I settle on the amount of days. :thumbsup2

Hurray for being a month closer!! I can hardly believe how close September is! :goodvibes

You're right, the months are just going to fly by! Since Ashlyn isn't in school yet or anything, the summer is pretty much like the rest of the year. lol And summer months are actually hurricane season so we get more rain here so we have more days that we'll have to stay inside. The countdown calendar will help with that, though. We're doing it 100 days out but some activities aren't going to necessarily be Disney related (though most will be... especially closer to the trip!) and some days will just have cool Disney facts/trivia/etc. Ashlyn's a little young to know what a countdown calendar is all about so it's mainly for me (and I think Aaron might enjoy it, too). ;)

I know!!! :)

I love the coloring! I really need to print a calendar page for DS.

The countdown calendar sounds fun!

Haha when they're not in school every day is the same as the last, right? I'm always like, "it's the weekend!" but really that's not much different than any other day...

I've been enjoying seeing how her coloring skills have changed from month to month. I'm definitely keeping them all. :goodvibes I've noticed she's starting to color a little bit more in just the picture than all over the page. She has a blast, that's the best part. :)

I always get excited about the weekends, too. Aaron does have weekends off (though sometimes he has duty or something) so we do have a distinction between the week and weekend, but I know once Ashlyn is in school it will just be so different!! I don't want to think about that, though. She's already growing up too fast. I can't believe she'll be 2 in less than 4 months!!!

The one school change that I hate is being dependent on school holidays for vacation!

Amanda

Just found your PTR and I'm so glad I did! Ashlyn is adorable!! :cutie:

I am loving all of your movie nights. Ashlyn was the perfect Boo. :cutie:

And that pic of her with Daddy on the beach is SO good.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think about that! That must be difficult sometimes.

Well thank you and :welcome: One of our friends has started calling Ashlyn Boo as a nickname. :)

It is cute how they get "better" over time. I've started taking pictures of all the kids artwork, and then I'm planning on getting a digital frame and "displaying" them that way without having to keep all that paper!

DH is home on the weekends too, so it is different, but not enough to get all hyped up about it like I do!

That's a really good idea to take pictures of their artwork and display it that way. I've seen someone else post about that on their blog recently and LOVE the idea. I know I'll end up doing that, but I also know I won't be able to part with the originals for a little while at least. :rotfl: I have a small box I'm putting it all in so I think once it gets full I'll start getting rid of some of the older stuff. I know if we had more than one kid and had artwork coming out the wahzoo, it would be a different story! :lmao:
