I'm so so stressed. Although I had requested early, early for a quote from DU, there was some misunderstanding and I got a booking for a cat 4B for $12,019 for my family of 5. I had wanted either a 4 OR a 9 and 10 across whichever was cheaper.

Anyway, now that I know the prices, a 9/10 is significantly cheaper, but now I don't have a booking! All the early dinners are gone and I'm now at the bottom of the booking as opposed to the top as my TA now needs to work on her other clients who are ahead of me. (although I feel I should be moved up as my quote was quite clear in my request...)

I don't have any time at work myself, so I feel so disappointed and I feel so let down.

Sigh. I thought I had been clear...with the baltic it WAS cheaper for all of us to be in a 4, but not with Alaska. This happens because for some unexpicable reason DCL refused to release prices ahead of time. Also, once all the 21st booking were posted, my TA was away until the 27th!

I'm sitting here at work just stressing and waiting for an email back with my new quote, but who knows when that will happen.

i was so happy today, now I just want to weep! I guess I just need some dis sympathy.

As soon as I hear back from my TA, I'll post my new quote.

I had problems earlier today too - I had SUCH indigestion over it all! Can you go online & book the 9 / 10 combo yourself & snag what you want on a 3 day hold and then give the new ressie info. to your DU agent to fix!? That's what I was about to do when my agent got back to me. I emailed her a 911 about what I was doing...

I was able to book our Alaska cruise online this morning (around 8:30 Eastern by the time I finished). Whew! I'm so relieved and grateful to not have been on hold for hours and hours. I'd been dreading that!

If online you were only able to secure a GTY Cat level, but you still want an actual room assignment.

Go online as if it were a new cruise, NOT a modification, & see what room #s might be available. Next call them & ask them for that room. I just got in w/ a 5 min waiting time.

I changed my GTY 5A to a #7034 Cat. 5B.

I saved almost $200 & this is the 1st room next to the Cat. 5As. I feel so much better having an actual room #.

Which cruise are you looking at? The PC cruises haven't gone up at all since 8 am and the Alaskan cruises are the same as well. Are you sure that you are looking at the same options?

I have the choice of starboard or port rooms in cat 5B for the PC repo in the same area of the ship that i want, same price- which side should I pick? Is there a better view of the PC and/or the entire trip being on one side or the other for the westbound trip??

Not really, there's different things to see on each side and when PC day comes you're out on deck most of the time anyway. At least that was our experience. Perhaps another PC cruiser might have a different opinion...regardless you'll enjoy the entire experience!!!

I was able to modify my existing reservation online to change cabins, however I have a question.

When I select modify online, I was only given a couple of cabins to choose from. However, when I put a specific cabin number in which is within my category but was not listed as available, I was able to confirm it.

I thought online would list all cabins available in a category so I am concerned that the cabin I selected may not really be available. Of course, I also thought I wouldn't have received a confirmation if that cabin was not available.

Does anyone have some experience with changing cabins online that can put my mind at ease? Thanks so much!

I booked the 26/07 Alaska about 2 hours ago and the prices still seem to be holding!
