I'm planning our first trip to WDW. I'm looking for a hotel around Paducah and Valdosta. All the info on biddingfortravel seems outdated. Does anyone use priceline anymore, or has it become just as cheap to book the lowest adv. price on sites like hotels.com? We are really hoping to find something in $50 range. Let me know what you think.

Bidding For Travel and all other EZBoard BBs were the target of a hacker. This hacker blew away every single board and many of the back-ups. The information you see at BFT may be all that was recovered. I would read the Hotels FAQ and post a complete Hotel Bidding Request form and someone will help you with your bid.

I will say that priceline bids were not a good as they were a year ago or so. Travel is up and the hotels just are not accepting rock bottom bids.

This is inkkognito, posting on her husband's PC:

Carol is right...the MCO airport hotels have gone up quite a bit! Ah, the good old days when I could get a room at the Marriot for $22 to $28! Be sure to do very thorough research on the going rates before making your bid. Car rentals don't seem to have gone up as badly as hotels.

Before using Priceline or Hotwire or similar bid for a room/car/flight system you should be aware of what look like the lowest prices in the area.

Then you should bid insultingly lower than that. You never know if there may be resort fees or other add-ons that may bring your final price above the lowest in the area and the only way to prevent that is to bid much much lower. If my suggestion fails, go with a choose your own hotel/airline/rental agency approach and book directly instead.
