Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Yes you will certainly be exhausted - don't be surprised if you all start nodding off at La Nouba - the music is very relaxing and DH and I both were fighting to stay awake! :rotfl2:

Yeah, my dh can sleep anywhere...so if u hear snoring in la nouba..:lmao:

I actually had it reversed at first, la nouba at 6pm, then HDDR at 9:30. But then I thought ds5 might be too crabby to enjoy HDDR, so I switched it for the purpose him 'sleeping' through la nouba.

I wish I could get CRT, because I would LOVE to torture all my boys! Being the only girl, we NEVER get to do girly stuff...:cheer2:

Oh very helpful, thank-you. I guess we can scratch archery...
I have wed all set, confirmation #'s and all.

Just trying to get Tuesday morning finalized.

Anyone have an opinion of which segway tour was better...epcot or ft.wilderness?

Which Epcot tour? Around the World or Simply Segway?

Assuming you mean AtW, I would definitely do the one at Epcot. I've never done either of them, but the AtW tour gets you into the International Gateway early. Also, it's rated slightly higher on AllEars than the Ft Wilderness one (9.91 vs 9.42).

Having done both, I do much prefer the Epcot Segway. I think that fans of World Showcase would agree. The second part of your tour is a journey through the countries, and that part of Epcot isn't open to the public yet at that time of day. For the Fort Wilderness experience, the learning portion of the program was outside, whereas the Epcot learning part is inside. And if it's extremely hot or cold ( it was a brutally hot day for us, with no shade during the training), that can be very uncomfortable at FW.

I booked the Epcot one. Very excited to try new things. :)

I did both tours and both were good, but I think that I liked the Epcot one a little better. It was fun going through the various countries and hearing about them. With our group in the Ft Wilderness tour it seemed as if everyone had already done the Epcot tour at some point. We were all experienced so it didn't take too much time to give us a quick review before heading out.

Here is a somewhat interesting conversation I just had with the chat CM on the disneyworld website regarding Xmas tours and Segway tours.

Jonebia: I did the tour this June and had so much fun.

Jonebia: You may call Our Tour Specialists at (407) 939-TOUR for our tours. Our hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, 365 days a year.

Blimey - not the most straightforward conversation!

Epcot has a Segway tour called Nature Inspired Design which for an unknown reason is not advertised on the WDW website but is old and run on selected days. Maybe that's the one they are going to cancel?

But who'd know from that convo?!

It almost sounds as if it's not a real person on the other end but some program that picks up keywords and responds with a canned answer.

either that or she was an idiot.

Great news! Disney messed up on my premium plan reservations. It really did all work out for the best and I am extremely satisfied in how they rectified the situation. GREAT customer service!

Here was my original plan...

Day 1 -

Around the World Segway Tour - 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Behind the Seeds Tour - 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Lunch at Tutto Italia - 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
Sammy Duvalls (Parasailing, jet skies, water mice) - 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Cirque La Nouba - 6:00 - 7:30
Yachtsman Steakhouse - 8:15 - 9:30
Boardwalk Surrey Bike Rentals - 9:45 - 10:30

Day 2 -

Keys to the Kingdom - 8:30 - 1:30 p.m.
Archery at Fort Wilderness - 2:45 - 4:15 p.m.
Hoop Dee Doo - 5:00 - 7:00
Back to Magic Kingdom for evening extra hours till 1:00 a.m.

So, about a week ago I get a call from Disney. They tell me that there had been a computer glitch when I booked my tours. My "day 2" is on a day that the magic Kingdom is not offering any backstage tours. She explains to me that they had been doing a system update and for a short 30 minute time frame, all tour slots (even the blocked out ones) were opened up for reservations. I just happened to call while the glitch was happening. She said I was the only person booked for any Magic Kingdom Tour that day. That completely messed up my second day. I had originally called on the 180 day mark to be sure I would get everything I wanted, when I wanted.

Here's where the great customer service comes in. The tour representative tells me that I can rebook the Keys to the Kingdom tour any other day during my trip, even if it is not on a night that I am on the premium plan. She also tells me that she is going to send additional vouchers so that we can go on another Magic Kingdom backstage Tour on an upcoming trip. The vouchers are good for two years. Plus, since the Keys to the Kingdom Tour is now moved, I was able to book more activities that I previously would not have had time for.:thumbsup2

So, here's the new plan(everything is booked!)...

Day 1 -

9:00 - 10:00 - Personal Watercraft Tour at Sammy Duvalls
10:00 - 10:30 - Parasailing
11:30 - 12:30 - Lunch at Tusker House
1:00 - 4:00 - Backstage Safari Tour
6:00 - 7:30 - Cirque La Nouba
8:15 - 9:30 - Yachtsman Steakhouse
9:45 - 10:15 - Mini Golf

Day 2 -

7:45 - 9:45 - Around the World Segway Tour
11:30 - 12:30 - Horseback Riding
1:30 - 2:30 - Boston Whaler or Pontoon boat rental
2:45 - 4:15 - Archery
4:30 - 5:00 - Water Mice rental
6:00 - 7:45 - Hoop Dee Doo
8:30 - 9:00 - Mini Golf
9:30 - 10:30 - Boardwalk Surrey Bike Rentals

We have the keys to the Kingdom tour booked 3 days later. I actually like having a break between the premium plan and this tour. It gives us a chance to relax and recharge.

I ended up choosing the "Magic Behind the Steam Trains" tour. I'll hold on to the vouchers and do that tour on next years trip.

So, because of the mistake, we were able to add the Backstage Safari tour, mini golf, horseback riding; boston whaler boat rental, and the steam train tour at a later date. The only thing we are not doing from the original plan is the Behind the Seeds Tour. I'm okay with that because we have been on that tour before.

I know we can't name specific cast members, but I wanted to send out a big thank you to the one that handled my situation. Disney sure knows how to right a mistake on their end.:)

Reporting in on our very successful one day Platinum Plan trip!!

Day 1:
6:30am - checked in @ AKL. Room was ready, so we took our luggage up; saved time having to do it later in the day.
one problem checking in - the manager was not in until 7:00am, so we could not get our package (vouchers and such) until then. Took our bags to the room and by the time we were finished and back to the desk, mgr was in. Our pkg was not in the safe where it should have been, so she had to run downstairs to get it from another safe. Made us run a little late for our Breakfast res, but she offered to phone the restaurant for us to let them know what happened.

7:30am - Breakfast @ Cape May

8:30am - Drove to Epcot parking lot

9:00am - Entered park - went to The Land and changed our Behind the Seeds Tour reservation from 4:30 pm to 3:45pm (FWIW - they said this time slot cannot be booked ahead of time, only that day.)

9:30am - checked in for Dolphins in Depth
This was my favorite part of our Platinum Plan. We LOVED the dolphin interaction!!! There were only 2 other guests on our tour, so I think we may have had more time with the dolphins than if there had been more people on the tour.

12:45pm - we met up with the Seas Aqua Tour. We were able to stay in our wetsuits, which was very nice to not have to wiggle into those things twice!!!
This tour was also awesome!! I am claustrophobic, so it was difficult to get used to using the equipment and trusting it to give me air!!! Once I got past the fear of not being able to breathe, I had a great time!!

3:30pm - checked in for the Behind the Seeds Tour.
Not our favorite thing. We were really looking forward to this tour because we all love the boat ride. But we were not impressed with the tour. I think it may have been because we had a long-winded guide. Our tour took 1 1/2 hours!!! Missed our Surrey Bike ride because of this.

5:30pm - ran to our condo in town to get my shirts I forgot to pack!! Stopped @ McDonald's for a bite for lunch.

6:30pm - One round of Putt-putt @ Fantasia, then over to Summer/Winter for 2 more rounds.

9:00pm - Drove to POR for a 9:30 pm carriage ride. We arrived ~ 9:15 and got started early since the driver did not have a 9:00 guest. Very relaxing and enjoyable ride!!

9:45pm - drove to DTD for our 10:15pm res @ Planet Hollywood.

11:30pm - Back to AKL for the night.
Bad experience here. Did not like the room at all!! Very cramped and crowded. We have more space in the value rooms than we had here! Got in the room ~ 11:45pm. Went to take showers, and there was NO HOT WATER!!!!. Ran the water for 15 minutes in the bath and sinks, still no hot water!! We had to take cold showers before bed. Not happy campers!!!!

Day 2:
6:45am - Got up - got dressed.

7:15am - checked out of AKL, asked for a call from Mgr concerning the water issue.

7:30 - Stopped into the CS to fill drink mugs.

8:00am - checked in @ Ft Wilderness for Horseback Riding

8:30am - Hit the trail with awesome guides!! One other family was scheduled to be there, but did not show, so we had a private ride with our guides!

9:15am - Drove to Contemporary.
This was probably the worst part of the trip for us. We got bad info on the marina opening time. We planned to do Sea Raycers from 9:45-10:45, then Parasailing @ 11:00am. However, the marina does not open until 11:00am. So when we arrived and found that out, we went ahead and did the parasailing right away, since they did not have anyone scheduled. Bad idea!!! I forgot we had just taken our dramamine right after HB riding. It had not had time to kick in. DH went first and had a blast. Then DD and I went tandem. We were doing pretty well at first and really enjoying it, but then she started getting sick. We waved them to bring us in. After we got back on the boat, they were pulling in the parasail, and I got sick from sitting still on the water!! When we got back to the dock, I all but sprinted off of the boat and found the lounge chairs by the pool to collapse in. DD was right behind me!! We spent the next hour there, with DH getting cold cloths for our heads. We went back to our condo for the next hour or so until we felt better. Lot of lost time here, just because I forgot to let the dramamine kick in!!

12:30pm - Feeling better - Drove to Contemporary for 1/2 hour of Sea Raycers

1:45 pm - drove back to Ft Wilderness for 2d round of Horseback riding.

3:15pm - back to the Contemporary for another hour of Sea Raycers. Cancelled the 2d Parasailing reservation!!

5:30pm - Hopped over to the MK for snacks.

6:30pm - Cape May for Dinner.

8:00pm - Drove to POR for Carriage ride
Here's the only messed up reservation of the trip. CM accidentally scheduled us for Ft Wilderness instead of POR. Driver had an opening for 9:30, so we took it and altered our other plans.

8:15pm - Drove to Fantasia Putt-putt for 1 round.

9:00 pm - back to POR for carriage ride @ 9:30pm.

10:00pm - Drove to Summer/Winter putt-putt for one round.

11:00pm - Platinum plan over - back to our condo!!

All in all we had a very good trip.
There were definitely some glitches and a few issues, but nothing that we couldn't work with.
We did receive a call from the mgr @ AKL and were given a $100 refund for the cold showers.
The only advice I would give, is to call and double check all of your reservations. If I had done that, we would probably not have lost the time we did when we drove to POR to find out we did not actually have a res there! Not a big deal, but a hassle and an inconvenience.

Would I recommend doing this plan? YES!!!! My daughter said it was the best 2 days she has ever had! Going in, she was scared of the Dolphin Tour & the Seas Aqua Tour, because she is not a strong swimmer. But she overcame her fear and had a great time. She wanted to do both of those tours again. Her favorite was the Seas Aqua, the one she was most afraid of!!

Do this while you have the chance! I wish we could do it again before the new rules kick in, but I don't think we'll be able to swing it.
I am really glad we did it though. Every bit worth the money!!
I figured we ended up around roughly $3100 in value, and paid $1200!!

Forgot to mention, Cirque was dark on our days, so we also got $255 worth of Gift Cards to use on the rest of our trip!! So it was more like paying $945, plus we got the $100 refund from AKL, so actually, we paid $845!! WOW!!!

Well Auger, it looks like you made out well!

Myds5 said he wants to do Mini golf now. I am trying to fit that in somewhere. Which course would you recommend if you could only do one?

We prefer Summer/Winter. All 36 holes are "fun" holes.
Fantasia has one side (18 holes) of "fun" and one side (18 holes) that is more like a real golf course. We did not do that side because it did not look like fun. It did look very challenging though. We enjoyed the "fun" side very much.

I would make the decision based on which one is closer to your other activities. THat way you won't be wasting time driving around.

I think you'll enjoy either one of the courses.

Have fun!!

We did our 1 nite Plantium 18th and 19th of Sept. Checked in 630 am at Wilderness Lodge room was ready took bags to room. Did bass fishing, from 7to 9, then had breakfest in Castle. Followed that with Parasaling. Wife took my spa treatment and had facial and massage at Wilderness Lodge, while I did some tubing. We then headed over to Grand Floridian and got the Professional Photo session (my Plantium Planner arranged payment since we booked in 2010 when Photo session was included) Borrowed my Jacket early from Victoria and Alberts for Photo session. Had dinner at Victoria and Alberts, after dinner went on Wishes Fireworks cruise. We went to wrong place for fireworks cruise you are so post to go where recreation boats are we went to resort shuttle area. Next morning got over to Epcot for Backstage Magic tour it took until 430. Went to Fort Wilderness got carrige ride and then went to Hoop De Doo Dinner. We had seen LaNuba 3 times so glad we got vouchers because they were on Vacation. I was able to use the Richard Petty Voucher I got in the mail the first day I arrived at Disney which was Sept 14th, so this allows extra time for other things when actually on plan. Also used vouchers for Illumanations and Minatuare Golf on days I wasnt on Plan. Got good value for my Money, but wouldnt do it it for 3 nites as there just isnt enough stuff left that I want to do.:cool1::cool1::rotfl2:

Thanks for posting auger! It never even occurred to me that parasailing might cause someone to get seasick. I'm gonna have to talk to DH and see how he thinks he'd do. I'd rather give up parasailing and have to find something else to do than chance him being miserable at Cirque and Cali Grill.

Wait, so you get vouchers for mini golf? And what do u mean by Illuminations? Preferred Seating?

Just asking because we are doing the premium for one night in November, and I'm trying to finalize my plans...

Your trip sounds great btw! Probably exactly what me and dh would do if we could ever go without the kids...lol.

Ok they give you a voucher for good standing area in Morroco for Ilumations viewing should have one in your Premium Package also. All packages come with voucher for one person to do mini golf, we used one for the Plantium Plan and one from Dinning Plan and both of us did Winterland free. Also they want men to wear jackets at Victoria and Alberts so they provide loaners:cool1::banana:

There were three of us going parasailing when I went and it was windy. Now, I never have any problems getting seasick but for some reason all of the extra movement from the wind while up in the air didn't sit right with me and I was feeling a little queasy. It also bothered one of the others as well. So you may want to give it some thought if it is very windy when you are planning to go.
