Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

Ok they give you a voucher for good standing area in Morroco for Ilumations viewing should have one in your Premium Package also. All packages come with voucher for one person to do mini golf, we used one for the Plantium Plan and one from Dinning Plan and both of us did Winterland free. Also they want men to wear jackets at Victoria and Alberts so they provide loaners:cool1::banana:

I'm here now on the PLAT plan and the illuminations voucher states 24 hr reservation required. Did you reserve via IPO or just hand the voucher to someone in Morocco?

Thanks

Anyone who has done the Jet Ski Tour-does it last 1 hour? If so is the full hour the tour or do they give you some free ride time at the end? Just trying to figure some scheduling out:)

After the tour you get some free ride time. The CM just "parks" near where you are allowed to ride and watches. When the hour is up then he heads over and has you follow him back to the dock. It was soooo fun!!

Thank you! How long do you think the free ride time is 15 minutes- or more? Is the tour part 1/2 hour or more like 45 minutes?

I suppose that it can vary with who is giving the tour and the group taking it. For example, you stop in front of one of the monorail resorts and stop and hear some interesting facts, you can ask questions, then you head off to the next stop. I guess the tour was about 40 minutes and then came the free time at the end.

I had my camera with me (waterproof) and the CM was nice enough to offer to take a couple of pictures of me on the jet ski with a great background. There is a compartment in the front that you can put a camera and a purse in.

Oh, and maybe my tour went faster because I was the only one on it. LOL. But it was the highlight of my trip.

I just went to Morroco and handed them voucher there is place near boat launch where you stand and watch show, again they honored voucher even though it was expired 4 days eairler:cool1::worship::banana::dance3::cheer2:

Thanks for posting auger! It never even occurred to me that parasailing might cause someone to get seasick. I'm gonna have to talk to DH and see how he thinks he'd do. I'd rather give up parasailing and have to find something else to do than chance him being miserable at Cirque and Cali Grill.

Does Dramamine usually work for him?
I think we would have been ok if ours had been taken sooner, or if we had kept our original res time for it to have a chance to kick in.
If motion sickness is an issue, be sure to use the Dramamine, or don't take the chance.
We lost 2-3 hrs of plan time because of getting sick.
The Cirque show is too awesome to miss, and the last thing you want when you're motion sick is food!!!
So you could ruin your other activities if he gets sick.

The parasailing was a neat experience, and we all enjoyed it.
But for me, it was more just one of those things that you can say, "I've done that."
It wasn't something any of us was upset about not being able to do again.
Even DH, who had the most fun, didn't care to do it a second time.
We were fine cancelling the 2d res and doing the Sea Raycers longer.
We had much more fun on those!!

HTH!!

Do you need ID to use the Richard Petty vouchers ?

We are not going to use ours. My sister can't do an activity like that and neither my mom nor I have any interest in it. We are staying at WL and doing the package Oct 25-26. As long as it's allowed, our voucher is up for grabs!

I would love to have it if it is allowed...please let me know...
We will be there during that time :)
Thanks so much!

My daughter and I are going on a Mom and Daughter Plat Plan in November. She would really like to parasail but she is about 120 lbs and you have to be 130 to go solo. I'm terrified to go but together our weight would be just above the maximum for tandem so not even possible if I wanted. When I call IPO and Sammy Duvalls I get a totally different answer every time. SOme say there is no way to get it to work. Some say no problem book a tandem and Sammy Duvalls will get an employee to go if they can. Some say book a tandem and they will just let some random person she picks go assuming they have other customers at the same time. Or just bring someone else with her. Has anyone done this before? I'd hate to take all the time to take her and have her be disappointed. We have friends going at the same time so I could get someone to go with her like they suggest but wasn't sure how that works with the package or if I would just pay the difference b/w solo and tandem. Anyone know how this works with parasailing? It seems like it really depends on who's working that day.

to be a tad unhelpful I can't answer your questions about how Sammy D will handle it. I have tandem but with my DH and on my next trip I am going solo.
Personally, I find paragliding really tame - I have no heights problems and there are no sudden moves, a bit breezy but not very, you don't get wet, not uncomfortable. So if your DD is comfortable get the friend or the Sammy D employee and let her have the experience. She is going to have to tandem - you have no choice due to her weight - so book the tandem and then work out who the other person will be.

Thank you guys so much for the info about the weight restrictions as I has no idea and this will affect me. Honestly I never thought about this but unfortunately I am about 5 pounds shy of being eligible for solo and DH is scared of heights so does not want to go with me. :snooty:
Can they just make you wear a weight belt or something if you are relatively close to meeting the threshold weight?

Does anybody have a link to where the official weight requirements are?
Thanks again for raising this in discussion here or I would be SOL!

Thinking about doing this for a three night stay next september, On the fishing tours, Are we only limited to one 2 hour? or can we do multiple 2 hour trips?

Thanks! We are not really interested in the free ride just the tour part. I wonder if they will let us go after the tour?

Pre-trip:
Two friends and I planned a 1-night Platinum Plan trip in Sept, staying at the Beach Club. I had done the 1-night Premium plan in May 2010, so I had an idea of how this would play out. Here is what we planned:

Thursday, Sept. 29:
8:30am – EPCOT Segway tour
11:30am – Le Cellier Lunch
12:30pm – EPCOT Seas Aqua Tour
3:30pm – Pedicures, Yacht/Beach Club Spa
5:15pm – Spirit of Aloha Luau
8pm – Wishes Fireworks Cruise

Friday, Sept. 30:
9am – Backstage Magic Tour
5:45pm – Victoria & Albert’s Dinner
9pm – La Nouba

We thought this was quite an ambitious schedule and knew we would be literally running from event to event. We planned as much as we could ahead of time to help with that – we have been to Disney MANY times, so we know the lay of the land very well; we got a AAA parking pass to park as close to the gates as possible; we mapped out driving directions from location to location so we knew exactly which route would get us there fastest (not necessarily the way Disney signs direct you!), etc.

Post-Trip Report:
We checked into the plan at 7am. Our room was ready, so we brought our bags in then. We had our Spirit of Aloha tickets printed right then so we didn’t have to worry about it later in the day. They can be printed by Concierge up to 3 hours prior to the show. They also had to retrieve our La Nouba vouchers from the Manager’s safe.

We had heard mixed reports of getting in at the International Gateway for our Segway tour, so we decided to drive. We did the 8:30 tour and had a great time. We heard Vern Yip was in the 9am tour! We finished at 10:30 and we had reservations at Le Cellier at 11:30, so we decided to try for Soarin. It said it was a 30 minute wait, so we went for it. It turned out to be about 35 minutes, and we made it to Le Cellier right as they began to sing Canada’s national anthem. We had hoped to be seated before 11:30, but turns out they wouldn’t have seated us early even if we had arrived a little early. At Le Cellier, our waitress struggled with crediting our meals under the Platinum plan. She came to our table 2-3 times stating we didn’t have any meals left (I think she wanted me to offer to pay for the meal). I asked that she speak with a manager and she finally figured out that there was a separate “Platinum” button that she needed to use, not the regular dining plan button.

The meal ran a little long, so we high-tailed it out of the park and to the guest relations area by the monorail to check in for the Seas Aqua Tour. We were about 10 minutes late. They brought someone out to tell us that the Seas Aqua tours had to be cancelled for about a week because of problem with the water. It was unsafe for people to be in the water. We have no idea what this meant, but that tour was scrapped. So we did Test Track, a photopass shot and then Spaceship Earth before leaving to go back to the Beach Club. At the Beach Club, we changed and 2 of us went to the Periwig salon for pedicures. This location didn’t have the “spa” feel that I am sure the Grand Floridian would, but it was a nice, relaxing time nonetheless.

We then did the Spirit of Aloha Luau which was nice. Afterwards, we went to the Grand Floridian for our fireworks cruise. We arrived at about 7:45pm and they said one more couple would be joining us and we could head out when they arrived. We chatted with two of the staff there and they were great! They said we had to wait until 8:30 for the other couple (they group platinum plan guests together), but if they didn’t come, we would leave. Well, they didn’t show up. So we did a brief tour of the Seven Seas Lagoon and got positioned for the fireworks. The music was piped in and it was a wonderful show!

The next day, we made it to the Tour waiting area of EPCOT by the Guest Relations window at 8:40am for our 9am Backstage Magic tour. We had a great time on the tour visiting all 4 parks as well as the horticulture area to see the topiaries under construction. We ate at Whispering Canyon Café, which was delicious. Our guides Bryan and Ben were incredibly knowledgeable and lots of fun. After the tour ended at 4:30pm, we raced to check-in at Hilton Bonnet Creek and got ready for our 5:45 reservation at Victoria and Alberts. We made it with about 5 minutes to spare (thankfully valet parking is included in the V&A reservation). The meal was spectacular. We told the staff up front that we had La Nouba at 9pm and they did a great job getting us out of there by 8:15pm. We had another issue here with our Platinum plan that was not at all the V&A’s staff’s fault. Turns out, the spa staff charged our pedicures as meals somehow. The head waiter was on the phone getting the issue resolved and told us to get on our way so we didn’t miss La Nouba. They took our number in case they needed to contact us. On the drive there, we received a call from the restaurant letting us know that it was all taken care of and the spa visit was now credited properly on the plan. I can’t say enough about the staff at V&A’s – we were SOOOO impressed!

We had all seen La Nouba, but thoroughly enjoyed the show again! And we fell into bed at about 11:30 after a whirlwind 2 days!

Recommendations:
-Book AAA, especially when staying Deluxe! We saved $77 over the regular price of the Platinum Plan at the Beach Club. We had a AAA membership, but even if you paid for a membership, you’d still save a little (plus you’ll get the AAA parking pass, so you can park up front!).
-We had originally planned to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. After rebooking at the Beach Club, we saw on paper that it made so much more sense to stay there. We would have done A LOT more travelling on Thursday had we not been able to walk to everything in the morning/afternoon from the Beach Club.
-We received emails from Concierge prior to arrival, but we did not receive a Club Level room. We did receive turndown service with 3 candy bars and a nice letter from the hotel.

1-night Platinum Plan for 3 adults at Beach Club cost us $1291. For that we got:
1-night Beach Club Garden View, 3 adults = $270 (discounted, this room would be $270-ish. Rack rate was more like $388)
(3) 1-day tickets = $270
Photopass CD = $100
(3) Mugs = $40
Snacks on Meal Plan = $24
Segway Tour = $315
Le Cellier = ~$140
EPCOT Seas Aqua = $450
Spirit of Aloha = $202
Wishes Fireworks Cruise = ~$300
Backstage Magic Tour = $730
Yacht/Beach Ship Shape Health Club pedicures (tip included) = $160
Victoria & Alberts = $400
La Nouba = $345

Total = ~$3300

I am happy to answer any questions!!

Great report and break-down. Too bad you missed VERN!!! That would have been fun.

Questions:

1) Backstage tour - you began at EPCOT, but then in what order did you visit the parks? We did this tour years ago and I'm trying to convince hubby that it differs now from then.

2) Since you had to cancel Aqua Seas, what did they do for you or give you in compensation for this tour? That was a costly part of the package so I'd think they should have offered SOMETHING instead?

Thanks for taking such good notes and being so thorough in your accounting!

1) We started at EPCOT and did backstage at the American Pavilion (and saw Taylor Dayne warming up for Eat to the Beat!); then we went to Central Shops where we saw all of the construction work; then the Magic Kingdom and saw the utilidors; then we did lunch at Whispering Canyon; then Animal Kingdom where they were celebrating the 10th anniversary of Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Expedition Parade and saw the floats, etc.; then the horticultural area where they held all the plants; then Hollywood Studios where we saw the bustling costuming department and backstage at Tower of Terror; then finally we finished off by watching the parade at the Animal Kingdom. They dropped us back off at the same location at EPCOT at the end of the day.

2)We were bummed about the Aqua Seas. We asked what they could compensate us with and they kept saying, “don’t worry, we have reimbursed everyone.” When we explained we were on the Platinum plan, so there was not really anything to reimburse, we got blank stares. We asked if they could put us on another tour and the woman at Guest Relations said, “well, you’ll have to call WDW Tours.” Thanks, that was super helpful. So we were not compensated, unfortunately…

Well that doesn't sound too fun...even a few Fast Passes may have been in order, or perhaps a couple of Disney Pins! Yesh, SOMETHING, really!!!!

So I called Sammy Duvalls today and got someone who seemed very knowledgeable. I also listened to the full recording. According to that you only have to be 120 lbs to solo unless there is an unusual amount of wind. The person on the phone verified this. For the tandem they strongly prefer that we supply someone over them having to use an employee. As long as one of the riders is on the plan it's fine if the other isn't if it allows the plan participant to actually do it. My daughter was exactly 120 today with winter clothes on  SO I'm making a solo for our first day and a tandem for the second so that if weight, weather, or wind is an issue we should be all good to go at least once. Now I just have to make sure that the other child is up for it as he is sometimes scared of things. :scared1:
