We will be staying at the Grand Floridian in February and we have signed up for the Silver Plan. With this plan you are entitled to Preferred Firework & Parade Viewing. How do we go about signing up for this? If any of you have done this before, please let me know what I have to do.

Many thanks,
Janie:)

Did you book through a travel agent or through Disney directly?? I booked through Dreams Unlimited and just told them what days I wanted to use the preferred viewing and they took care of the rest. When I received my yellow envelope with all my other ressie information, included in it was passes for the preferred viewing location with my name and date on it. I just gave it to the person standing guard at the location and they let me in.

If you booked directly through disney I would just try calling them back and asking them what the procedure is. They should only need to know what date you plan to use it.

I am staying at the Contemporary. I did not book with a package. But, was curious if their is a way to pay for preferred seating for parades & fireworks???

Here's how it works:

When you receive your documents, there will be one voucher per person (with each person's name on it) for the following: the AK parade, Illuminations, and Wishes. On the voucher it gives you the # to call, says that you must book at least 24 hours in advance, and gives the location for each. Illuminations and the AK parade can be made 45 days out, Wishes 10 days out. Last time we had our travel agent call, I think she got Illuminations for us before we got our vouchers? This year we'll just be using the vouchers for Wishes and haven't decided which day yet, so I'll be calling it in. When you arrive, have your vouchers in hand, your name will be on a list and you're let into the roped off area.

I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let you pay for the preferred viewing locations, since it's one of the perks with the packages. While it's nice to have a spot held for you, the locations aren't necessarily better than what you could find on your own.

HTH :D

Thanks so much for the information. Could you tell me where the preferred seating is in the Magic Kingdom for watching the parades?

Many thanks,
Janie:)

The preferred seating is for Wishes at the MK, Illuminations at Epcot and the parade at AK. It does NOT get you preferred seating for the parades at MK. That said, the preferred seating location for Wishes is in the sit down area near the Plaza Restaurant. A good location, but not much better than the seating near the Plaza counter service, which doesn't require booking a package. The spot in Epcot is the boat landing near Morocco. I personally wouldn't use this spot. It was my least favorite location of all the places I've viewed it from (UK, Germany, China), which China being my favorite spot to see it. I'm not sure what the location is in AK, as I've never bothered with the parade.
