Praxis 1 Study Material

My daughter is taking the Praxis 1 in Oct. has anyone taken it or has experience with what study material is most useful? I have wasted so much money in the past on SAT courses and study guides and would love to get her to past the first time and not waste on the study guides.

This is easy peasy, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I bought a study guide and read about each section and the expectations for the written responses and practiced the math because I was a bit out of practice on some things. There are a bunch of study guides cheap used on Amazon, but first I would check the library and just borrow it if they have it.

There are many websites that have praxis 1 practice tests. i would also check with the college your DD is attending. Many offer study sessions and/or have the practice tests on hand. If she has difficulty in a certain subject, for example math, someone in the math department might be able to give her a couple private tutoring sessions, if need be. I know we do think at our University.

I agree that it was super easy. I don't really remember "studying," but reading over a used copy might be a good idea.

I passed first try with no problems, it's really not very hard at all. Is she in college? Many colleges have free online study guides (my university set me up with an account) and some offer a one or two day study course. I'd look into that before spending money on any books.

Definitely check with your library. I used McGraw Hill that I borrowed from our local library.

I used Kaplan's Prep book and I've been out of school for about 20 years. I was nervous about the math since I don't use equations & conversions on a regular basis! I passed it easily so I would guess she really does not have to worry too much. If she's an undergrad, she's probably had the material on the test recently.
